I love how this old Austin business is still around. They always come through with all my sharpening needs. I love how sharp my knives are. Highly recommend!!!
Called ahead and was able to get my kitchen knives sharpened that day! Super convenient and very affordable! Highly recommend!
A local pro, currently working from home. Not a great area of town, but hes awesome. Call ahead for the best experience. Super affordable, super friendly. I stopped by on a holiday, had my 2 knives back in less than 10 minutes.
I found Knife Sharpest years ago when they were on Burnet Rd. After that location closed, I didnt find another place I liked as much as them. Finding them again was awesome. I took about 30 knives to them and they all came back perfectly sharp. The price is also great!
Took 5 pair of scissors to Anthony today. Got them back the same afternoon. All work great including a pair I took to someone else a few years ago that did not. Thank you Anthony. I will be back ( I have a lot of sewing scissors).
Do not knock on this door. It is a residence not a business. Call for service.
I needed a reputable place to have two of my machetes sharpened, and Austin’s Knife Sharpest did not disappoint! One day turn around, very competitive pricing, and the sharpest blades a person could ask for. I highly recommend this fantastic small business for your consideration.
Good job, will get my knives sharpened here again
Great service! Fast, friendly and affordable. Knives are sharper then ever before!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Anthony was great. I’ll be back. Thanks!
Great shop. Fixed my daily carry like brand new, very nice folks as well
Friendly staff and super quick service! I had my camping knife and my pocket knife sharpened here and they are razor sharp.I will recommend this place to everyone!
Great shop, one of the best knife shops i’ve stopped in. Sharpened my carry knife real quick. Nice selection of different knives
This is top quality knife sharpening at its best, and if you’re willing to take the small bit of extra effort to find him, you will not be disappointed. To those complaining about him having moved out of a storefront to his own garage, understand he is a very small business owner in a town that has little appreciation for the “little guy” anymore. If this is an issue for you, you obviously don’t really care about the quality of service he provides.
This man does wonderful work! Knives are razor sharp and in perfect condition. He is easy to find just in a complex just north of 183 between Ohlen Road and Metric. His prices are wonderful as well...I will come back for sure.
I got a Shun chefs knife here that my wife really likes. The guy working there definitely knew knives and was able to talk about the pros and cons of particular styles. It wasnt as cheap as buying online, but thats true of pretty much any local business. I have not yet gotten any knives sharpened there so I cant speak to that, though my understanding is that they do a good job of it.
BROUGHT MY KNIVES TO GET SHARPENED FOR THESE TURKEYS AND HAMS... SUPER SHARP THANK YOU. MY TWO LENNOX BLADES ARE GETTING IT DONE.THANK YOU
I brought two knives that I use and depend on everyday. He sharpened them to a razor sharpness in 10 minutes for $10. Just call him and he will help you find him and get it done quickly and easily.
My knives always feel so brand new when getting back from this place. My favorite thing to do when I get home is to slice a tomato with a non serrated knife and just awe at how sharp my knife is. They are super friendly and everything is done in a timely manner. Get your knifes sharpened ever few months, it is such a game changer!
All work and no play (with sharp kitchen knives), makes a dull boy (who is likely to experience injury and/or poorly cut foods because of dull knives). If youre a home cook, understand the importance of a good/sharp knife, and arent keen to sharpen your own because you dont want to mess them up, you need to come here.Prices are incredibly reasonable, they take great care of your precious cutlery, and they do it quickly (sometimes while you wait). They also sell used kitchen knives, so if youre looking for a great deal on a new addition for your knife rack--come here.Lastly, kitchen knives is just a small part of whats happening here. You may be struck a bit when you walk in upon seeing the walls adorned with various swords, hatchets, etc.
This is a very cool store to search around for knives in but last I checked, they also offer sharpening services, knife throwing lessons, and will make custom knives. You never know what you might find here. They sell, buy, and trade. Local owned so keep it alive before you go to a big box.
I just finished cutting some vegetables with a knife sharpened today from this business. I didnt realize they moved, but the new location isnt hard to find and is right by the entrance of the storage building and they have a sign at the door. I just got one kitchen knife, which I got sharpened within 5 minutes for $5. The man who serviced my knife was very friendly! Im satisfied with the sharpening as well. When you go, grab some cash for a tip because while they accept card for the payment, you cant add a tip on it.
I try to get my kitchen blades done at least once a year. The same for the wifes shears and my gardening blades. I drop them off have lunch nearby and then back home with a better than new set of keen edges. Your roasts, fabrics, and hedges will be happy you did it.
Very nice edge on my knife. Prompt. Courtesy. Very fair price. Comes Highly Recommended.
Brought 4 knives to him, was only charge $20 but when I picked up my knives they were not sharp at all, couldnt even slice a tomato without squishing it. So I called and complained and he argued that he shaved his arm hair with them before and that I was wrong. We set another appointment and he never returned or answered phone calls or texts
Fast, honest service for sharpening my kitchen knives. They were able to take my rather dull knives that werent good for much besides cutting butter and restore them back to effortlessly slicing and dicing meat and vegetables again! I think pricing was something like $4/blade, but thats much better than buying a new set of kitchen knives or struggling with a honing steel.
Did an amazing job on my knives. Fast amd super affordable.
I took 2 expensive kitchen knives that had rusted and pitted on the edges due to wife consistently placing them in the dishwasher. The gentleman here put a edge on them better than when they were new. Im bringing all my knives to be sharpened.
The last time I had my knives sharpened, this business was located in a storage unit on Burnet Rd. Its now being run out of the owners apartment. I called him twice attempting get adequate directions.Too much effort required for a customer seeking services, not enough on the owners part. Certainly lacks customer service skills.
Excellent service and great prices! Highly recommend them for all your knife sharpening needs!
The knife throwing classes are awesome! Had a bachelor party come here before we started drinking. We all learned how to throw knives, hatchets, and even shovels. Later on when we started drinking we wanted to come back and throw more edged weapons. It was sadly closed.
I took a set of Shun knives to have them sharpened. Before I did, I called and asked to make sure that they could sharpen them. The guy I spoke to said Of course we can, we sell them. I asked specifically if they would put the eastern edge on them (16 degree rather than 20 degree like western style edges). They said of course. So I took them in thinking everything would be terrific since Id heard such rave reviews about the place.... I went back in a few days later to pick up my set (1 slicer, 2 chefs, 3 pairing, 1 santoku and 1 utility). I was shocked and astonished, they put a 20 degree edge on them. I was ready to jump the counter a slap the man silly. Instead, I smiled, paid them and walked out. No use in causing a scene for something thats been done. And there is no way I was gonna trust them to actually correct the situation.Just be very careful when you take expensive knives there... they may come out ruined.
Quality service. He sharpened my Bedlam Benchmade and zwilling j.a. henckels knife, to perfection. Hardly any wait time. Thank you.
I bought 2 knives from this gentlemen online, and they never arrived. The USPS lost the package and he refuses to refund. I tend to think as a business owner youd kind of be obligated to do so, but I guess not. If you like taking chances, go ahead.
This is the only place I will take my knives, scissors, cleavers, and food processor blades. I usually drop them off on my way to work and pick them up on my way home (with a side trip next door to Phoenicia). Very reasonably priced and the 7th blade is free. You may think you are sharpening your knives at home by using a steel, but that is only honing the blade. Professionally sharpened knives are such a pleasure to use. They even made my serrated bread knife cut like it was brand new. They have me spoiled, so I take all my sharp and pointy things in at least twice a year.
Took a chip out of my Santoku knife and left the blade sharp enough to shave with. I even took my finger tip off with it, and it went through like butter.
Excellent service and reasonable prices. Sharpening a chainsaw blade is about $7.
These dudes are grinders, which is kind of a neutral title. It could work for some people; it doesnt work for me. If you have beater kitchen knives (i.e., from a knife block set or anything cheaper than $50 a knife), youll probably be happy with the job they do here. If youre a working culinary professional or serious hobby cook, DO NOT TAKE YOUR NICE EXPENSIVE TOOLS HERE. They do not put the kind of care into their sharpening that a truly nice knife deserves. There is little attention paid to angle, pressure, correct choice of grit progression, ALL OF THE THINGS THAT MATTER. If youre serious about your knives, honestly, go buy some nice waterstones and learn from a professional how to do the damn thing yourself. For everything else, this place is totally adequate. I will continue to take my serrated blades and cheap shears here. But they will NEVER touch any other knife I care about.
Great customer service, knowledgeable staff, quality knives and blades. Mr Stuckey is a master bladesmith, highly recommended
Theyre the best!
I bought a custom chef knife from the owner of this place Thomas Stuckey & it was a mistake. His knife has proven to be useless as a chef knife. Its balanced all wrong, the edge is to think to maintain well. It makes a better clever than a knife. I went back to the store to speak with him & try to make some sort of trade to get a knife I that could be used in my job as a chef. Mr. Stuckey never bothered to contact me, instead his communication was through his employees because he was to much of a coward to tell me to my face he wont work with me, He buys & trades all kinds of knives but he wont buy or trade one of the ones he makes, even he knows they arent worth having. Im not a knife expert but I have come to learn a lot about what a chef knife should & shouldnt be because of this. I will never buy anything from this store or Thomas Stuckey again. Save your money & buy a custom knife from a good craftsman.
Great place to take a knife to get sharpened. They sharpen a lot of other things too!
I took my left-handed, serrated Spyderco Police model to this shop to have it sharpened by a professional. That ended up being a huge mistake. These idiots rounded off all the serrated teeth and ruined my favorite knife. This knife was a very limited run of 480 and now cost several hundred dollars to obtain. The staff at Knife Sharpest are really only fit to sharpen garbage knives from the late night knife channel.
Fast and well done sharpened knives
Used a belt sander on my straight razor. Result was less sharp than when dropped off.
This address is an apartment complex.
Best place ever
Knives are like brand new (or better) nice guy and great service!
