I spent my lunch break looking for a place to get my State Inspection done. After being quoted 1.5 hours (maybe), going to a different business, chasing down an employee and being told the “State Inspector isn’t there and I don’t know when they will be back”, I about gave up.Before seeing the “Groovy Lube” sign. I pulled in, was immediately greeted. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and VERY quick.While I waited (maybe 10-15 mins?) I sat inside Thrive Craft House. Which is connected to The Groovy Lube. I ordered a coffee and was greeted with smiling faces. The coffee at Thrive Craft House was delicious! They offer many types of Draft Beer, Coffee, and food. I cannot wait to go back!The customer service I received at both locations exceeded my expectations. I will continue to use both companies in the future!

Chris was very warm and welcoming. I didn’t feel hustled with upsales. They actually didn’t push anything. I got only what I came in for, and no guilt or pressure. My cate was done before my taco from next door. As I was waiting for my taco Chris came to let me know my car was done when I was ready. It feels like a coffee/bar/auto car place rolled in one (literally same building) were all the staff is nice and chill. Highly recommend this place!

I have always been a firm believer and taking your car to the dealership where it was originally bought, however I came across Groovy Automotive after being referred and figured I would give it a try. In and out in just minutes, with friendly, knowledgeable staff. They walked me through my options and made sure that I got the correct service perfect for my situation. Even helped me to understand additional problems with my car that they are not equipped to handle. All in all, this was the very definition of exceptional customer service and I will definitely be a return customer.

Stopped by for an oil change based on car oil change light. They quickly stopped the staff to check the oil. They said it was fine, topped off the oil, inflated my tires and told me to come back in 3k miles. Very much appreciated. Will be back in a few months

THANK YOU DONNA + GROOVY LUBE! so awesome to pull up and speak to a woman mechanic. not only did Donna and her team quickly and efficiently change my cars oil, but they were extremely friendly and taught me some things about my car. she replaced my cabin filter (looked like it had never been changed) and engine filter and even sprayed some perfume into my cabin filter so my car smells lovely! i will definitely be back and telling my friends about groovy lube :)

Very fast and easy oil changes and inspections (the only services Ive had). My car wasnt going to pass inspection so they told me the best and cheapest way to get things fixed on my own. I never had that happen at other auto shops. They might try and upsell you on oil, but they arent pushy about it. Definitely look for coupons though (student discounts too)!

I always support local and Groovy Lube is where I prefer to take my car for service. I called up today to Groovy Lube on Guadalupe to see what their waiting time was and said they were completely bored since we all know this pandemic has affected many small businesses. I came on by for my oil change and the entire team was great in taking care of me and my car and let me know of other lube services to consider in the future and that their other location off Red River does repairs as I had mentioned I needed my belt changed and back brake pads done. They were very helpful and one of the reasons I keep coming back to Groovy Lube!

Super quick and helpful. they had the wiper blade and center taillight bulb I needed handy and I passed inspection. Dana was great replacing worn parts with no labor charge. Chris was thorough for safety inspection.

After being a couple thousand miles over my suggested oil change point I finally decided to come into Groovy Lube because of the proximity to my apartment. This was also one of the only places that actually answered the phone and enabled me to come in within the hour with no wait.I originally planned on just getting a basic oil change, but after arriving and getting into the bay I was sold on the highest tier oil change which ended up being $120. While I don’t typically don’t like the idea of spending this much, Donna made it clear that the was the best option for longevity. Not only did it allow me to go 12,000 miles, but it was also of higher quality. She said that I am also able to come in and get fluids topped and oil checked every couple thousand miles as well. While I was here I also got an air filter replaced which was done very quickly.Overall, I had a good experience and as long as the products work as well as stated then the 5 star review is deserved. John and Donna made this experience better and they both very knowledgeable.

I got my oil changed here today and the service was outstanding. The woman that was helping me made sure I was well taken care of for my trip up to Oregon. She was so knowledgeable and walked me through everything I needed. I can not thank the Groovy team enough!

The lady who helped me was fantastic. I forgot her name but she was super helpful and funny. It was awesome talking to a woman for once about car stuff. Went in for an oil change and she told me how I can get rid of battery corrosion by pouring coke over it. Just did it today and felt like a pro haha. It was the best oil change experience.

I initially went here after finding a groupon for an oil change. The groupon wasn’t valid for 24 full hours following the purchase, which I didn’t know until I arrived. The team was very nice however, and provided me instructions on how to return the groupon if I didn’t want to wait to get my vehicle serviced, which I ultimately decided to do. They changed my oil in about 20 minutes, and did a state inspection. They all wore masks the entire time, and had an outdoor waiting area. I will be back!

I requested a quote online and within an hour or two I received a response back from Tim, the store manager. I was also able to set-up an appointment directly with him for the day of. He was flexible, patient with my requests, and very accommodating when I mentioned the current discount on the website.When I showed up he remembered our interactions and specific services I needed immediately and even had all the parts ordered, laid out, and ready so that they could get started ASAP. He seemed to want to make it clear to me that he was following the services I had agreed on in the quote/emails we had exchanged. On top of all that, his friendly and straightforward demeanor put me at ease that there would be no unnecessary upselling.The work was done in less than the time estimated and he gave me helpful information about some of the results of the tests they had run. He automatically accounted for the discount without me mentioning it again. The battery charge check was a little pricier than I thought it would be, but everything else was fair and competitively priced...small price to pay considering I had gotten the discount! After that, I was all set... I was surprised at how quick, easy, and pleasant the whole experience was.Big thanks to Tim and his team- it is obvious they hold a lot of pride in the shop and that they want to serve their customers well. Its nice to know I have a local, convenient car shop I can go to.Update: Went to the Groovy Lube on Guadalupe instead to get an Express Oil Change and all 3 of the employees I interacted with were so kind and respectful. After several bad experiences with Jiffy Lubes over the years Im glad I found this place. Very professional, informative, transparent, and friendly. Dont be scared to get groovy, I didnt have to get out of the car. 10 minutes and I was on my way. Awesome place.

My best experience so far in Austin. They are super friendly and know what they are doing. They fixed all of my car issues that I wasn’t aware of for a while. They also all wear face masks which is important to me. I’ll be back in a heartbeat.

I made an appointment for an oil change because of a Groupon I have. Got an email sent back to me in the morning that I could send it in for an oil change without an appointment. Showed up to the shop and asked for an oil change only to get told that I have to have an appointment and since I showed up late I was told to get on a schedule even though the email said that the change would be 30 minutes yet I wasnt able to do it today.Why does this always happen to people like me? Its such a waste of time and money and gas seeing that I live 20 minutes away. Why does Groupon sell oil change certificates to the worst places? If I cant schedule an appointment seeing that they ignore them, then why should I bother bringing my vehicle over to them in the first place?

Ive been going to Groovy for a couple of years now. I live 25 minutes away, but theyve always been a good place to get my oil changed. Todays visit was especially good. Donna was professional, friendly, and really knowledgeable. Its because of exceptional service like todays, that I will keep coming back.

I felt taken care of amidst the pandemic. I went as my first time getting an oil change and they helped inform me on the basic foundational things we all need to know about our vehicles. Everyone was super friendly, quick and efficient.

I went to Groovy for the first time today. John was SUPER helpful and so nice. They gave me what I needed and didnt try and upsell me like crazy. They gave me all of my options, answered all of my questions with sincerity and allowed me to chose what was best for me and my car. They also checked extra things such as my air filter, came inside, showed me and spoke with me. They didnt have my air filter there, but John even offered to install it for free today if I could go pick one up. That is amazing customer service, and I will definitely be back. Also, SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS!! (P.S I never write reviews online, so the fact that I took the time to write this means I really mean it).

Groovy Lube is super fast, in my experience. Even when they have a line out the bay, the wait is no more that 30 minutes. They always check all my fluids, tire pressure, and vacuum the carpets.

It’s been years but I’m glad to be back and it’s worth the trip from South Austin. Great service no hassles no up selling just the simple oil change at a good price. At 3k miles my oil pressure was normal: I honestly think Jiffy Lube was ripping me off, at 3 months my oil pressure was LOW... several times. Not here!

I read all the negative reviews but I really dont understand. These guys are super nice. I got an oil change and a state inspection and was in and out of there in less than 45 minutes even though there was at least 4 customers in front of me. The coffee shop next door is great! And I sat on the patio and enjoyed the nice weather. I will definitely go there again.

I paid for my inspection but they could get the printer to work to print off the documentation. Why can’t they email me the document in 2019? I asked them to call me when it was ready, no call. I have tried to call them to see if they were able to get it to print off but they don’t answer the phone. Now I have to go spend the time and money to get inspection somewhere else. Very frustrating.
