I stopped by a few days ago to repair my 22-year old Seiko kinetic watch which is no longer keeping time. I was told they could NOT repair it and instead to call Seiko. I’ve had this fixed once before so I tried Jewelry repair at Barton Creek Mall (2nd floor near Macy’s) and they fixed it in a few days for $50.It’s puzzling why Throckmorton can’t repair a watch and refuse to try when the other place fixed it so easily. Go down the road instead.

I’m not an expert on jewelry or even a jewelry aficionado by any means, but I was impressed by how these people know their stuff - they immediately gauged my ring size correctly before sizing it with equipment; they quickly understood what I wanted to have done even though I didn’t know the terminology (add bumps, weld together). Catalogued my rings carefully and efficiently so there wld be no chance of confusion and/or loss. Cleanings, resizing and welding were done quickly and days earlier than expected. Will definitely be going back to them and recommending them to local friends!

Throckmortons was the ONLY place out of 4 jewelry or watch stores I visited and called who were even willing to look at my old watch, including Timex. I was so appreciative of them taking the time to see if they could fix my watch...AND, they fixed it! I am so happy. Ive had this watch for 20 years and it means a lot to me. They were able to fashion a custom spring for a faceplate on the watch. And, they were very genuine and friendly too, which goes a long way. 10 stars!

They really dont know what theyre doing. I had them re-size a steel watch bracelet and had to keep going back because it wasnt right. If you have an odd number of links, you should have less on the inside to counteract the way the watch normally leans. They should know this. Ended up paying another $6 on Amazon for a tool to do it myself

I have been to Throckmortons several times in the last year for various repair work on different watches or rings. David and his wife are always kind, and take the time to explain the various aspects of the work being done. Their prices seem reasonable, and Ive never had to wait longer than expected. This is a fine locally-owned business and I highly recommend their services.

These guys charged $20 to change a watch battery, which is outrageous considering my battery costs $7.99 for a pack of 20 batteries and takes under 1 minute to change. Last place I went charged me $8, which I think is fair considering theyre running a business and all, but $20? No way. I might understand if they sold high end watches, but their 3 display cases full of Tissot and Victorinox hardly qualify.

My Tag Aquaracer died so I brought it here for repairs. They charge a fair price and have good turnaround time. Besides fixing the broken part, he filled in the black numbers on the outside where the enamel had worn away, and he even redid the glow in the dark stuff on the hands and dial. The watch was made in the 90s and I got it back looking like new.

Ive been to this place for two separate issues in the last two weeks. The first was to get a small scratch buffed out of my Rolex Datejust crystal and the second was to have them look at a G-Shock watch that wasnt working after I changed the battery. They took exceptional care of both of my issues in a quick and professional manner. More than that, though, is the excellent customer service provided by everyone in the store. I’m very dissatisfied with my experience today at this store. I went in to see about having my Luminox watch repaired & the lady just assumed she knew what was wrong & immediately told me I needed my whole movement replaced. I had told her that I recently had the battery & crystal replaced but that everything had been working fine for a couple of months after having the last repairs. She said she thought a piece of the glass got stuck in the movement, even though I told her the watch was still water tight after the crystal broke. She took it back to have what I assume was the “repair technician” & take a look at it. After about 2 minutes she came back & said he confirmed that it would need a new movement & it would be $110. I’ve been an automotive service writer & repair estimator for a long time. I don’t believe in just guessing & buying parts for no reason. You must have a proper diagnosis or at least take the dang thing apart & inspect it! Figuring I had nothing to loose, I went home & took the watch apart. I blew out everything & put all back together. It’s all been working perfectly for hours now. Hopefully it continues to work as the days go by. I can’t believe they weren’t willing to actually take apart the watch to look at the internals. To me it’s simply a sign of incompetence. From my experience with watch stores lately I think I’ll just learn the trade & repair my own time pieces. They did have a nice salt water aquarium & I appreciate they letting my son look at all the fish. Unfortunately I won’t be returning anymore.

THE BEST! I found Throckmortons via an internet search and decided to give them a try. My ring got stepped on by my photographer at my wedding and severely warped it. I had previously taken my ring to have it resized at one of the large chain jewelry retailers and they failed to fully polish my ring after the resizing, leaving the diamonds looking gray and my rose gold ring looking more brown than anything. When I received my ring back from Throckmorntons after my latest mishap, not only did they do a 5 star job on the repair, the price was far lower than expected, the staff was super helpful and friendly, AND my ring hasnt been this bright and pretty since the day I received it! Unknowingly, they did more than fix the warping, they did a outstanding job polishing and restoring my ring back to how I remembered it before the sizing. Their attention to detail is phenomenal and we had a wonderful experience. Highly, highly recommend them! Ill definitely be back!

Throckmortons is a wonderful jewelry store. The people working there always greet you and address your needs quickly. So far I have brought them only problems. By this I mean a ring with an intricate design that needed to be resized (without disturbing the design, of course). This was done to perfection. And my antique engagement ring (I MAY be an antique myself, LOL). I knocked out one of the stones (an opal) and needed a replacement as well as some other major repair. The workmanship of the repair and replacement of the opal was beautiful. I do intend to shop there and not just bring them problems. But they are VERY good at repairing those problems.
