The Experience was okay but i am just leaving from returning the car and David Really Helped and the experience Ended Awesome! Because I got charged a late fee when on top of me getting the car later than they said it’s a very long story but it was really made better with the help thank you David! Hope your foot heals very well it really meant alot for him to explain the charges and stuff because on pickup they didn’t tell me so i really appreciate AUSTIN AIRPORTBe back soon
My experience here was great! My car broke down the day before I was supposed to drive out of town for Fathers Day. I was worried that they may deny me a car because I didnt have a plane ticket and it was a busy weekend. But Shauna was so nice and helpful with genuine compassion for my situation. We even bonded about our old cars and the heat while she set up the contract. She also walked me out to the garage to make sure she found a car for me. She really put me at ease and made me feel welcome during a stressful time. Returning the car was surprisingly easy as well! The car itself wasnt what I booked but was still nice and fit what I needed. Great gas mileage! There were a couple dents, Im assuming were from hail, and a stain above the passagenger side but other than that the car was in great condition. I would definitely rent from here again!
We chose Dollar because it had the lowest price. What a mistake. The fees were outrageous. The car seat rental was $55. Walmart has new ones for $35. We were less than an hour late returning the car and paid a fee almost equal to 2 extra rental days. My total expenses were twice what i expected. I will never use this company again.
They never offered me a toll pass. My first time in TX and didn’t know I was going to take tolls. When I got the bill there was an administration fee of $15.00 dollars for every time I took the tolls. A total of $8.00 for tolls, had to pay $90 on fees.... ridiculous!!! ALWAYS offer people a toll pass!!!!!!
They had us come in from a flight from Indiana and we had everything we thought we needed to get our rental for a 1 week stay. We were then told right before closing after our flight git in that we could NOT GET THE RENTAL BECAUSE WE WERE FROM OUT OF STATE AND NEEDED A MAJOR CREDIT CARD. We were stranded at the airport with 5 children and bags. The embarrassment we suffered was unnecessary and the staff could care less. They suggested I rent 2 cars smh. I would have went elsewhere if had known ahead of time. Yet I didnt let this ruin my trip for my birthday and Mothers Day. Staff should explain their clause and not save it for last minute.
My experience was terrible. I was Not given all the important details pertaining to the car rental and was left with a $600 bill made up of taxes and fees. I don’t understand how this cost more than the actual reservation for the car. I feel taken advantage of. Will never rent and will never recommend this place
Worst customer service and reliability of rental availability when arriving. Called to let them know I would be 5 hours late due to weather and I need to change my pick-up time. They refused and told me that they were sold out, which didnt make sense since I already had a car confirmed for earlier. They the rep told me that for $125, they could get me into a car, even though they stated previously (30 seconds ago) that they were sold out. I called him on this, and her became condescending and agitated. I asked him to stop being rude, and the last words thing he said was, so sorry for YOUR misunderstanding and confusion; glad i could be of assistance. he then hung up on me. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. It was definitely an overseas call center.
Quick and easy. I made my reservation directly on their website and signed up for the Dollar Rewards program. Since my information was already in their system (license, credit card, etc), I just had to verify my ID and card at the location. I was also given a couple of cars to choose from. Im not sure of the quality of small cars, but I rented an SUV and it was great. Good on gas too. Besides the wait in line due to limited staffing, the process once I was at the front was quick. Return was very easy as well. Just write down the car info and mileage, again verified by staff on duty, got an e-receipt within minutes.
40-person line. People at the front of the line said they had been in line for two hours. Went to Hertz and rented a car in 3 minutes. Will never try Dollar again. Sometimes, it makes sense to spend more.
I was impressed with my reservation online. I originally went with another rental car company but they didnt accept debit cards as a form of payment. DOLLAR RENTAL CAR came to my rescue. I reserved online, picked up vehicle I requested in one state and dropped off in another state. No question asked. It was a wonderful experience.
In Austin,tx they joined Dollar,Thrifty and Hertz together in one counter at Hertz.Be prepared to wait for long times.
When I went to pick the car up they tried to charge us $600 more than it said when I booked it for a 3 day rental.After interrogating the employee why it was so much they said ‘taxes and fees’ are only estimated online. Lol.After a while of trying to understand. We realized that when they asked us to pick an insurance policy for the rental, we didn’t have to pick one at all. They tried to sell us a redundant insurance policy!!The 2nd issue was when we unknowingly drove on a toll road. We racked up $8.5 in toll fees (8 tolls) during our 3 day rental. Dollar rental then charged us $15 to pay EACH toll fee. So 8X$15=$120.Doesn’t it seem ridiculous that we had to pay dollar car rental $120 for them to pay $8.5 to the city of Austin on our behalf?Dollar car rental will lie, trick, and steal from you as much as they can. BEWARE!!I wish I would have used Turo where the fees are more straightforward and there isn’t a salesperson to try and trick you into paying for things you don’t need.
Flight was delayed, I called Dollar many times and left messages. Couldnt get anyone on the phone or a call back. When I landed, they were closed and I was SOL. Worst customer service, I will not be renting from them again. Also, Dollars automated system says theyre open until midnight. Thats wrong, they close at 10 pm.
Only one person at the counter, and the line is halfway through the rental facility and not moving. This is a joke
I rented a car on Friday to go to a funeral on the following Saturday, I had a quote that included a 200.00 deposit, I had no problem with that. My problem started when I arrived at ABIA to pick up the car. When I arrived, there was A sign that said to go to Hertz to complete my rental, when I got to Hertz, I was stunned to find that there was an additional 191.00 taken from my card on top of the 280.00 that was my quote from from Dollar car rental, this put my card into overdraft, so when I returned the car and tried to exit, I couldnt because I had entered the parking garage in my personal car using my card which was now in overdraft and couldnt cover the 20.00 charge, Ive rented quite a few cars in my life, but Ive never had such a disastrous experience as this one.

Warning!!! This Dollar/Thrifty is a franchise location and NOT subject to the same regulations or customer service standards as other locations. The lack of competence and morals are surprising.To make things worse, the available customer service number is a lie. If you call you are told that the location is a franchise and as such the people you are talking to cannot help, or even look up your info.It is sad that Hertz lets this location continue to be associated with the Dollar/Thrifty name.
Had all rental cars customers check in at Hertz where there was 1 worker and over 10 people waiting. Go with National or Alamo to rent car

Rented a car Friday morning Angela was super nice at the Austin Bergstrom Airport. She asked us what we were doing there and gave us a list of places to eat. We asked for an upgrade and she gave us a list of what was available. Super awesome experience. We will use them again for sure! Sunday when we returned the car Kim was also great. Great experience over all.
Highly recommend Dollar rental. Great customer service and quick fast service. I was out of the airport and driving in no time. Their location is convenient as well, just a few steps out of the Austin airport.I want to give a shout-out to Jackie at Dollar. My flight was delayed and I did not land until just shy of midnight. Knowing Dollar closes at midnight, I phoned them and got Jackie. I asked if there was any way she could wait for me until I get there to close and she said yes, no problem. I got to Dollar at 12:15am and Jackie was there waiting. She was so friendly and not even slightly annoyed at having to stay open a bit late. Saved me so much anxiety! Also the gentleman who I checked out with after the paperwork was very friendly too, even after having to stay late. Seriously havent received customer service like this is such a long time. Thanks so much!

Called multiple times trying to claim a partial refund that was issued to me through the Hertz parent company via email for a defective car I rented two weeks ago. Cannot reach a human here no matter how many times I call. Hertz keeps telling me that I need this specific location to approve the refund and they are unreachable. No one cares and there is no accountability. I would have been better off taking the bus. Save yourself the aggravation and AVOID THIS LOCATION!!!!
My check-in went very smoothly. Since they did not have any full size cars left, I was upgraded to an SUV for the same price. Car was clean. Turn-in went very smooth also. I would rent from Dollar in the future.
The experience with the car was fine, seamless. Only issue was the long time it took to get to the counter to pick up the rental. It was a Friday night when several plans were coming in with several people renting cars, but only one customer service agent was working. Comparatively, Avis/Budget rental counter had 3 agents working at that time and customers were being serviced at a much faster rate. Having a 2nd agent for the Dollar counter would have been helpful.
I initially registered to pick up a car with them for the morning my flight arrived in Austin. Upon my arrival, There was no Dollar representative managing the counter. There were other workers from other rental places at their counter. I eventually walked up to another rental counter and got a car through them.I would say be mindful that if you have early flights- that they may not be the most reliable and you should consider another rental service.
We landed at 10 pm and had A reservation, they said sorry we don’t have a cars available. We had to pay $50 to Uber to our hotel. Tried calling dollar again today and see if they could help us and they said no!! There’s nothing they can do and they stated it’s only a reservation.. you think if you make a reservation they would leave a car available for you.?? I’ll walk next time before I use this company..
Needed to rent a car for a few days. The first car they gave me had a tire that was wobbling so bad I needed to return it to the airport. Was charged for the gas to and from the airport and not given any type of consideration at all for the fact that I drove a wildly unsafe car on the highway and could have been injured or killed. Have called multiple times and emailed twice. No one picks up the phone who can do anything about this safety issue. The clerk who answers the phone at the airport continues to direct me to the 1-800 number. They told me to email the help line. No one cares. This is a 3rd rate operation that will soon be out of business. Avoid at all costs.
Rental Center is conveniently located just across the street from the terminal. One recommendation is after claiming your bags stay inside and go back up to the gate area and out through the middle door and across the pedestrian bridge to the cars. The road at the garage on the lower level is not smooth enough for roller bags
Staff were wonderful helping us since we had 1 person in a wheelchair and 1 on crutches. They allowed us to drop off at the front door and they picked up our car at that point instead of us having to go from car rental return all the way to check in. It was fabulous and we really appreciate their kindness.

Best price out of the Austin airport. Also, for the first time ever, the price of gas at the rental company was MUCH cheaper than surrounding retail. It was very nice not having to scramble to find a gas station near the airport to fill up before I returned.

Bait and switch avoid like the plague. Both dollar and Thrifty which are owned by the same people. I reserved a full size car when I arrived they told me they would only give me a compact and they charge me the same price. Then they refuse to answer the phone for 3 days or return messages. And now Ive been on hold with the main line the national company for half an hour. Ill never run from either one of them again.
I will be as objective as possible and attempt to lay out the facts: We booked online and had a reservation for a mid-sized car over 30 days before we arrived. We reserved a mid-size car to help us navigate around Texas, visiting family from town to town. When we arrived at the counter, Lorenzo the customer service representative, was unapologetic in telling us that they had run out of cars. We had a reservation, but apparently that has no weight for reserving a car...only the price. Lorenzo offered us an upgrade to a Large Truck or Minivan. When we explained that those were not necessarily upgrades as we are doing a lot of driving and needed a car for fuel economy and comfort, Lorenzo simply restated their position with understanding our needs. Lorenzo offered an SUV, but we would have had to have paid quite a bit more.My wife and I were quite upset - this policy seems to be predatory and a way to get more upgrades. We will never use this company again and encourage all that we know to perhaps pay a bit more for a more reputable company that will actually keep your reservation. We ended up taking the gas guzzling truck and because it was so big had to find special parking spaces / areas to ensure it didnt get a scratch on it.
Customer service was very courteous and friendly. The car selection was awesome. The cost were OK however The company needs to reevaluate the use of debit cards. Most banks now if you use your debit card they will deduct that amount from your account and the individual cannot go into the bank to take out additional money because it’s not available so this needs to be reevaluated because if I’m paying in advance and they’ve taken my money and I paid for it I shouldn’t have to pay a deposit
DO NOT RENT HERE. They deserve negative stars. This is a franchise of Dollar - it has nothing to do with the corporate entity. I rented a car here and had travel plans change. I figured it would be no issue other than a fee to turn the car in at another Dollar at an airport (I have done this before and it was never an issue). Instead, the airport notified me that they are not the same company and could not accept the car. When I called the Austin Dollar, they told me it would be a $500 pick up fee as well as charging me every day (the extra day fee, which was 3X the original fee) until they picked up the car. When I asked her for an estimate of when this would be, she told me it would be whenever they could find someone to pick up it up, IE whenever they felt like it. And they would be charging me every day without any real incentive to actually pick it up. I had to drive 4.5 hours each way back to Austin just to drop off the car. In addition, all the other reviews are correct. They nickel and dime you with every cost. We returned the car and were charged a Customer Facility Charge when we checked out. When we called to ask about it, they were very quick to say that is a standard fee and that they forgot to put it on receipt/contract that I signed. If it is a standard cost, why do you not put it on the contract that I signed? Super shady place - DO NOT USE.
The car and all of your area was clean including the bathrooms. all the employees were pleasant and helpful. the counter rep gave us a nice place to eat and was it was a great choice (bbq). this was our first time using your company. good job
Warning. Do not rent from Dollar Rent a Car at Austin as they do not stand behind the cars that they rent and a do not have Management to deal wth Customer Service issues. We arrived in Austin excited to make the drive to College Station to see our son for his Birthday and had great customer service checking in to pick up our car. Once being told the car we had reserved was not available we were told we would be placed in a Toyota Rav4 which was fine as it offered the same size as the car we reserved. After getting in to the car it had a strong deodorizer/perfume smell and we assumed it had been from the car recently been cleaned. On our way to driving to College Station we stopped at a bakery to pick up a cake for my son and when wanting to use the remote to lock the car it did not work, my husband tried numerous times and we finally locked the car manually. We also noticed that the service soon light was intermittently on. The next morning when we went in to the car the deodorizer/perfume smell was gone and it was replaced by what smelled like vomit. Since we were only in TX for (2) days to visit my son for his birthday and two hours away from Austin, we bought a hanging deodorizer, opened the windows and ran the a/c non stop for the car and put up with the manual locking and unlocking and intermittent service light.When calling today to report the problems we were referred to a Manager line. I initially called to make them aware so that when we dropped off the car it would not immediately be cleaned and put back in to service, hoping to save the next client from what we had to deal with. After leaving (2) messages and not receiving a return call and being told by the person that answered the phone that she would note our file and that when we brought the car back today there would be a Manager on duty, I assumed I would just tell a Manager when we arrived. There was no Manager on duty, we were told the Manager had just left for lunch break. We left our contact information for a Manager to call and still not receive any communication. Terrible customer service, we will NOT be using Dollar Rent A Car again

This is the WORST customer service yet. I arrived to pickup my vehicle to be told that the vehicle I reserved wasnt there. They offered me a much smaller vehicle but I told them that wouldnt work with the number of people I needed to travel with. After 30 minutes and my continued asking, I was offered a minivan instead of a larger SUV.The minivan was dirty with trash still in it and obviously had not been cleaned in a long time.Looking at my CC now, I have been double charged. I called the location directly to be answered with Hello?! instead of a Hello this is Dollar Rental Car. I had to make sure I reached the right company. He told me to call back in 15 minutes, he was too busy to help me and hung up.When I called back, I explained the double charges, she emailed me a copy of the invoice she has and said if I needed more help Id have to talk to the manager who is on vacation for a week. I said I needed help faster than that. She found someone else who was on lunch and she told me to call back. I asked her to have the person give me a call, I was told if I dont call the other person she found and leave a message I wont hear back.What a run around from people who obviously dont care about their jobs or providing a good customer experience. Ill avoid Dollar at all costs going forward and Im filing a chargeback for the double charges.

I did my reservations in advance when I arrived in Austin, my car is ready there was no wait time and very professional.Only negative thing I would say my car should have been wiped down inside between the seats someone before me must have spilled something other than that excellent service.

We arrived after a long flight with two young kids to be told they had overbooked & didnt have any cars available. They told us to get a taxi & then take a taxi back in the morning & they would take it off of our final bill. We told them we were staying a half hour away, but we were assured it would be taken care of. My wife returned early the next morning since we had plans that day & provided them with the receipts of $165 for the trip there & back. She was given an email to send it to which she did (the counter guy actually typed it in to be sure). Upon returning the car, they had already charged our card. They said they never received anything, but no problem just send it to Gabriella Ramos & shell credit our card for the amount. One month later & still no credit. We have contacted her multiple times plus other managers & no one will return our calls/emails. We have used Dollar Rentals before, but I would tell anyone to avoid this place & definitely do not trust them!Update: We received a refund from the company not too long after this review & mentioning legal action.

Worst car rental experience ever. Prepaid through CheapOAir only to show up and find that they can’t scan my debit card. So here I am stranded at the airport looking at over $100 in Ubers to just get to my hotel much less all the stops I had planned to make. Avoid this place like the plague, the savings are not worth it in the end. Add to that the TERRIBLE attitude of the customer service and 30 min wait.

They said they would email me the bill and avoided telling me my total at check-out2. They will not answer their number3. Corporate does not have access to their system so there is no way to force the issueI will be filing a complaint with the BBB. I recommend the other 20+ 1 star reviewers to do the same. Lets make sure someone gets a large fine if not jail time for their thievery.
I am an Alamo/National insider - I travel frequently and get lower rates and preferred upgrades with them when I travel. Their rates, however, have been steadily rising and Ive been looking at other providers to use for business travel and thought I would give Dollar a try. The wait line was empty when I arrived @11pm and the desk agent seemed a little irked to be there. Cant blame him - it was late. What I didnt like was him talking me into purchasing the toll-road option even though I never encountered a single toll road driving to Austin, San Antonio, Mustang Island and Corpus Christi. The car was a new-ish Nissan Altima with about 5K miles on the clock, and performed well. The drop off was seamless with a friendly agent inspecting it and doing the return with no issues.When I initially received the survey regarding my rental experience from Dollar, I mentioned the toll-road issue I had. What I didnt expect was someone actually reading it, contacting me, and refunding me the cost of that toll option. Thank you. I misjudged the company because of the acts of a single individual. Ill be sure to use Dollar again.
Recently rented a car from here and a total rip off!!! Brought the car back with 3/4 tank just for them to still charge full price for a full tank of gas . Im like hell if i would have known they were going to still charge anyways I would have brought it back with just fumes . So basically spent 90 on gas for nothing. It doest cost 45 dollars to fill from 3/4 to full. Total rip off. Never again will i rent from airport all these extra charges is bologna!!!
They werent here at 6 AM when they said to be open, had to wait over an hour for them to showed up. So my wife and I decided to go to one of there rival Advantage and get the car we needed. No thanks to Dollar and never going to used them again.
I’m a Dollar Express member, so this review does not include the reservation office. The pick up / drop off experience at AUS could not be smoother. The team are friendly and efficient.
The worst experience with rental cars ever! they ADDED my credit vouchers instead of deducting it from my bill! then when they admitted the mistake, they charged me more money for no reason! and they still have to refund the credit money! of course they dont even bother responding to my messages, nor explaining the royal mess they made! disgusting!

This company will scam and steal money from you. Look up their reviews on yelp etc before you purchase a car with them. They will charge you over double what they quote, and then charge your card for ridiculous charges you did not use, such as gas even though you bring the tank back full. We were quoted $188 and charged $400. This has happened to MANY people. The claims department said this franchise is known for this. I dont know how they are still in business and have not been sued so far. We will be taking this further, more so out of morals then anything else. People need to know how this company scams and steals from their customers. PLEASE DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THEM. Check all the reviews first.
So i booked a reservation with dollar weeks prior to my arrival. After arriving to Austin Bergstrom, Abdul says Im sorry sir, but I cancelled your reservation because you were late. I said, uhh... how am I late? I booked my reservation through Southwest Airlines. In a world of systems and auto population how am I late? Because Im here! As Abdul is laughing at me, yes... I said LAUGHING at me! He says, Well sir my manager has told me that if I give a car to anyone that is late, I will be fired! You can try one of the other providers....So after trying 2 other providers, who also tell me that they have no cars unless I have a reservation I decided to return to Dollar, the company I made a reservation with!, to speak with the manager.So Gabby, the manager, says that she was, so, so, so, sorry... but she had no power to give me a car.So just know this people... it doesnt matter what your circumstances are, whether youve lost a loved one, bleeding profusely, having a baby, or simply just cant walk... or..... ACTUALLY HAVE A RESERVATION! Abdul, Gabby and Dollar/Thrifty have no car for you!
I called a week ahead to rent a truck. I made sure from the girl on the phone that I can use my debit card to rent it. I was told that it would just be a 15 % deposit. When my flight arrived I went to Dollar. They would not rent me a truck because I didnt have a credit card. I asked what Im suppose to do because Im now stranded at the airport. The manager said I dont know, get an uber. I very disappointed in the customer service that was provided.
Line at airport is horrible. They need a better system of getting people in their cars.
The rudest Ive ever been treated in my life by a young man, Philip Huron, who claimed to be the manager. I had done nothing wrong and they had cancelled my reservation in error. He wouldnt help me and became a bully.
Stay away from this place!!! Very dishonest with rude manager. They provide “loaner” cars to dishonest car dealers while your car is in the shop for warranty repairs. They will manually run your credit card 3 months later for items without notifying you or providing you with an invoice!!! Make sure to read yelp reviews as this is not the first time they have done this!Shame on you for scamming unknowing customers!

The previous reviews ring true. Dollar is a scam machine. My estimate was $377 and by the end of my trip, from fees and magical supplemental insurance (yes, they tacked a SECOND insurance onto my liability insurance, rushing me through screens of acronyms to signature and simply saying, oh thats your insurance), I ended up with a $680 bill.RUN AWAY.
I was charged for an upgrade and specifically told them I did not want one. I was told I initialed the contract which made it valid. The lady at the counter hi-lighted where to sign and told me to initial at each ...so I did. There was no explanation whatsoever. I was charged for extra items without being told. I am going to make it a point to complain to South West Air, SWA(whom I love dearly by the way) and make it a point to tell them that this rental car service, which they recommend on their website, is ripping people off.I should also let you know this supposed upgrade(which I was not told I had) was in crappy condition with dents and dings all over the car. It was dirty and I had to clean the windshield inside and out so I could see the road.I was told I could go to the Thrifty Rent a Car counter to contest my bill because they are related companies. I waited about 5 minutes at their counter to contest the billing and no one ever showed up. Both were obviously understaffed.I had to catch a plane so I left after a very brief conversation with the Dollar counter person(whom was not willing to budge on the error). Moral of the story is I will never deal with Thrifty or Dollar again and advise you to look elsewhere for a rental. They knew they upgraded me without telling me and the lady at the counter was very apprehensive when dealing with me. I truly thought something was going on at the counter that did not meet the eye.I called the customer service boss(Matt) to complain and told him my story and he took my number and said he would look into it and call me back. It is now 3 pm the next day and no return call. You guys need to learn to deal with your own mistakes better. What a shame.
With the help of my AAA we had discounted prices, but the best part is on the way to our destination we had an 8 hour layover in Austin, and asked about getting an additional day while waiting they gave us a great price 3 times cheaper than hertz! And cheaper than catching ubers to and from👌😊

12:30pm on a Monday and there is one worker between the two desk (Dollar & Thrify). Currently 9 of us in line and the one employee is in no hurry. If I was not forced to use Dolar by my office I would leave. Every other agency in sight has multiple workers.

I booked a car for two days and change-- picking up Jan 7, 2016 at 11 PM, returning Jan 10 at 5:30 AM. I was quoted a price of $69.62. Since the office doesnt open until 6 AM, I could not get a receipt when I returned the car; an attendant told me that a receipt would be mailed to me. No receipt was mailed to me. Suspicious, I checked my credit card statement online: I was billed $148.14. (And yes, I returned the car with a full tank of gas.)My repeated attempts to call and write Dollar have met with no success. Apparently they have no employees, or at least no employees willing to pick up the phone and rectify a straight-up bait-and-switch.
Service was competent, courteous and fast. Car was in fine shape.
The woman at the counter LIED TO ME about whether my insurance would be accepted. She claimed that they do not take my personal insurance and tried to scare me into buying $240 insurance. She was also extremely rude to me when I decided to opt out of purchasing the insurance, saying, Youre not welcome. My insurance was totally sufficient to cover anything that would have happened to that rental car.
I decided to try Dollar for the first time for a vacation in Austin. They had a very competitive price.Absolute Scam. I reserved a car via Expedia weeks before, for about $150, all in, for my week stay. When I arrived at my scheduled pick-up time, I was told they did not have anything except premium models, which of course were 3 times the cost. They told me I would have to wait at least 1-2 hours before my reserved car would be in. Customer service woman was extremely rude and unhelpful. Her words were well, you can go ahead and try to rent from anyone else, but they will all have over a 3 hour waits.I walked over to National and grabbed rental immediately for $190.I should have read these reviews before trying out Dollar. Lesson learned!DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM DOLLAR!
A good car at a good price and the service was pretty good.
Be very careful of hidden fees. We landed late from California (first time in texas) and an uniformed lady charged me $100 more than the expedia reservation.I do understand that included a package of $10/day Texas tolls for the entire 6 days (whether you use it or not). There were other hidden fees as wellRent from other locations (Alamo/Enterprise)as they charge $4 per day + toll fees only for the day you use the tolls. Dollar did not refund me the extra toll charge (that I used for only one day) but I had to call them to waive off the other hidden charges after drop off. Never again with dollar.Now I became wise after calling the other rental car companies.

- CAR was old with 30,000 miles- Eventhough declined extra insurance, agent asked for many initials and one of them was added in between to add the extra insurance. Good thing i had the conversation recorded on my phone at the counter so the manager took of the extra charge.- if you add airline frequent flier miles number in your reservation to accrue miles for your car rental, you will see extra charge when you return the vehicle, they dont mention that when you pickup the vehicle.- record the conversation with an agent to avoid any additional charges at the end to cover yourself- during my rental, car had 2 flat tires, none of them had nails or anything. the tires were not maintained properly and had air leak from prior flat repair. they declined to replace the car. i had to use my own AAA to tow it to the tireshop in an unknown city, spend 5-6 hours waiting for it to be repaired.
The staff was very helpful and polite.
Stayed open late for late arrivals. Very appreciated.
NO STARS!! Dollar ripped me off! I used express checkin because there was only one person at the counter and 15 standing in line. The agent told anyone that couldnt wait to do express checkin. They charged me 2 hours late fee! Now they say it will take 14 business days for them to research it if I cant provide proof that I turned it in on time. I will NEVER do business with this company again!!
They honestly dont even deserve one star!! This place has horrible service all around! Manager Philip refused to come to the counter after requesting to speak to someone with some sort of authority. What a joke, DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!
DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!! They overcharged me $50 and when i called to get it back they said they were their extra taxes and fees that Travelocity didnt know about.. it also took me over a month to talk to anyone because corporate wont help because theyre privately owned..Such bull! STAY AWAY!
This place is the worst. They nickel and dime you on everything and their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Hope this company goes out of business.Negative stars are not an option otherwise they would have gotten -5

They are absolutely the worst!!! I have been waiting for a refund for more than 10 business days and unable to reach an actual person. To make matters worst the refund resulted two unauthorized options added to my rental.
Had a reservation with them, just cancelled because no one will pick the phone to tell child car seat rate. I called three times between 8 to 9 pm central time on 01/02/2018 and someone will pick the phone and bump the receiver to disconnect the call everytime. Worst service.

These well meaning people are overwhelmed, understaffed, and burdened with a system -- both their own and what the airport requires of them -- that will inevitably cause customers to wait, wait, and wait some more.
As usual Dollars service was top notch. My only complaint is that, again like usual, the windshield needed cleaning both inside and out.

Worst ever. These guys are crooks, charged us for double the price mentioned online, didnt issue a refund when we had to leave austin early.. Dont go there no matter what.
Worst customer service we have ever experienced. We had a reservation with a specific price and the agent charged us double and then told us she was not going to change it. After fighting, we came to our original price and she was as rude as she could be. She then handed me the keys and started to walk away . . we had no idea where to go to even get our car and when I asked her she acted like we were the stupidest people on earth. Will not be renting from Dollar Rent a Car again.
Dont trust them! Dont make a reservation online! Customer service sucks! Everything they put is a lie, they charge you more and no refunds. SUCKS!!!!!
