Great little company! Very friendly staff and were prompt to help/get us on the water. They put my brother and I on a giant water board instead of individuals (asked us first if we’d want that) and it was so much fun floating down the river. Will return again!

When I’m Austin it’s a sin to not go paddle boarding! If your looking to do a more chill and less packed side of the lady bird this is the perfect place to rent your kayaks/paddle boards.

I HIGHLY recommend Epic as the go to kayaking spot in Austin. The staff (Ian and Sophie) are super friendly, kind and extremely helpful! They were the best people to work with during a rain storm! Once again, this is THE place to go kayaking in Austin if you want good service, interact with nice people, and have a great experience!

Would definitely recommend this place for paddle boarding. Decent amount of parking and staff was really friendly. Pricing was great and the student deal was pretty good too. The dog there was also really cute

This place had great kayaks (very comfortable compared to another company we used on the same trip). The kayaks seemed more buoyant, if thats a thing. They glided through the water easier, and the back rests were canvas and straps instead of hard plastic. We easily kayaked out to the small island and around the shore. Its more of a local feel. Small dock with some lockers. No restrooms or changing rooms (public restroom available a short walk in the park, or you can go to restaurants). The small parking lot by the Hostile had open spaces.

Went out with a few friends and Ian and Sophie were amazing! They helped us out and were super friendly. Would recommend them for their friendly nature and great prices!

Always love coming here to paddle. Very friendly staff and one of the cheaper and competitive priced location. There are some parking right in front of the place, but when it is packed, you are going to have to find parking on the side roads. Cant wait to come back again.

As all the other reviews state: This is an excellent place to rent SUP/kayaks. They have great prices and a wonderfully friendly staff.It’s farther down the river than other rental places and opens up next to a wide part of the lake making it an excellent spot to learn the ropes of paddling without having too much pressure to avoid other people.

It’s amazing. The woman who helped was so nice. She saw us coming and pulled on her mask. Even gave us directions to the nearest bathroom (which was a 2 minutes walk away). You can leave your stuff at the dock and it’s well protected by the woman doing the checking in and her very cute dog. In summary—this is a great paddle board/kayaking place!

Nice people. Good location. Rented one double kayak. Gave a good general idea of where we should go in about an hour. Worked out just right.

Definitely will be returning! Professional staff. Went during covid-19 stuff and I felt very comfortable. I got there around 10am on a Sunday and there werent too many people.

Epic SUP is located at the best area on the river for SUP rentals. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.I went out on a Friday. After signing off on a liability waiver, I was treated to a nice refresher on how to use the board and paddle. The rental board was clean and well kept. I was provided a life jacket and paddle at no additional cost.The next five hours spent on the river were wonderful and relaxing. I brought a lunch that I had packed earlier in the day. After making my way up river I found a nice area with almost no current where I could stop to eat. The river, although very polluted, was showing life. Turtles, Herons, and some fresh water fish were even jumping. The ride back went by in a flash. Bring sunscreen and reapply! Slowly drifting down river gave me time to take in the Austin skyline. The return voyage was almost effortless. Definately the best part of my Austin excursion.Thank you Epic SUP for helping me have this experience!

Nice people, good music, so much fun!

Pulling in, it looks unassuming, but walking down the path to the dock, you can tell how thoughtful their location is! Tucked away along a running trail, this location is quiet and the staff greets you as you arrive! They walked us through everything and we selected a two-person kayak and made sure we knew some more details about kayak positioning. We spent an hour out on the water, even coming back part way though to grab my coffee from the car! They even suggested a local coffee joint nearby on our return. After our time on the water, I asked how hard Stand Up Paddle Boarding is and was greeted with “do you want to try it?” The employee we were working with walked me through the details of it and let me go for a little spin on one, free of charge, to let me get the feel for it. I will definitely return here for the friendly experience and to try stand up paddle boarding for a long while! It seems super fun!

What a great way to spend the day! Easy check in, great instructions on how to SUP board & canoe... we took the kids, packed a light lunch, & enjoyed Austin from lady bird lake. Our whole family loved it & will definitely be back!

I went on a Tuesday & it wasn’t very busy at the time yet the weather was basically perfect & the waters were calm like [in Daniel’s own words] “glass”. Daniel helped my first paddle boarding experience go smooth as the waters he described & his welcoming demeanor was just as transparent!

I have been coming here for years. This is the best place on the lake to rent. The staff is courteous and helpful. One time in particular a rain storm popped up. My friend and I paddled back and the staff told us we could come back later for a paddle. They don’t control the weather but offered to accommodate us anyway. Great place.

My wife and I celebrated our first anniversary by going paddle boarding here and have continued the tradition ever since. The staff is always super friendly and it’s just an overall fun experience.

Completely lived up to its name and we didn’t even get to kayak! My husband and I tried for a spur of the moment rental with our 2 year old who wasn’t having it. Upon realizing that, we tried to get back into the dock and my phone dropped in the water. Daniel immediately got involved to help us fish it out. Many attempts and almost an hour later, we got it! I must mention that they were not having a slow day but not once did anyone of the staff make us feel like an inconvenience. Thank you for your stellar customer service!

We rented a SUP for the afternoon. Best rates in town. We found it easy for our first time. We paddled 2 miles down and 2 back. That took about 3 hours. Its nice to be able to sit and relax, lie down, stretch and then stand back up. We took a backpack with snacks and drinks. Super fun date day!!

I found this paddle boarding spot to be a lot more enjoyable than others across the interstate. This location is much more calm, less crowded and larger than other parts of the river. My husband and I had a great time here! Staff was awesome.

As someone who had never done stand up paddle board, the people who worked there were friendly and helpful. The equipment they provide is in good condition. They have small lockers for storage, but you have to provide your own lock. Show up ready to hit the river as they do not have a place to change. I recommend paying for the unlimited for first time paddle boarders!

Recently went here for my fourth year anniversary, I have never paddle boarded and neither had my girlfriend. The man at the front desk was courteous and helpful. Even took some pictures of us. Great location and price.

Same as Texas Rowing Center on the west side of town however less frequented and less equipment at the same price. Good for paddle boarding around that little island and east side of lady bird lake but too far from downtown orBarton springs. Staff is nice.

Friendly and helpful staff. When we went, we were planning on stand up paddle boarding, but the staff member suggested we kayak due to the wind. It was a lot of fun and reasonably priced. (When we went, it was $20 for a double kayak per hr and I belive $15 for a single kayak per hr). If you think that an hour isnt long enough, it can actually get you pretty far.

We rented a house on Lake Austin & I hired kayaks for the whole week for my whole family who are from the UK. Dale was great to communicate with & dropped them off & picked them up on time. Great service-would definitely recommend & I want to come back & try SUP next.

Let us dock our canoe but made us rent life jackets at $10 a pop. Which seemed a little high. Friendly competent staff. Beautiful location. The paddle boards are where it’s at.

I always stop by when in Austin. Best place on the river. I go about 4 times a year but the staff always knows me. Go solo or with a group its a relaxing get away.

Came today with my girlfriend and had a great experience up until when I got home.. She informed me that when she was getting off of her paddle board, one of the men working there, trying to help her up, grabbed her butt. Not impressed.

BEWARE of the parking lot, don’t leave any bags or backpacks visible to the eye. I went with a group of friends and I parked my truck in the grass area with the driver side facing the street. I left a bag with extra change of clothing and my friend’s back pack with his extra change of clothing in my double cab. I have dark tinted windows and they still broke my window to steal the two bags out of my truck. It looked like a pretty busy area with lots of people walking their dogs and exercising so we didn’t think this would happen. I’m writing this review to caution others who come to area. Epic Paddle was great and we had a fun time, they do have lockers in case you want to place your bags there but you would need to bring your own lock.

Super easy rental process. Staff is very cool and were not strict at all about our return time. Ladybird Lake is great for paddleboarding! Its about a mile from the bat bridge.
