The House on the Hill team was an absolute joy to work with.From the very beginning they kindly answered every question and worked with our timeline and postponement from 2020 to a 2021 date. We were so grateful for constant communication and the smooth process to book the venue. The venue itself is so beautiful up in the hills, cozy, and gives that intimate reception feeling.Not only were the grounds perfect, but we loved the fact that they have on site lodging. It was a game changer considering all our family members were from out of town.We’re so happy we chose House on the Hill for our reception. Additionally to being a dog friendly venue, they truly make your celebration feel extra especial. And absolutely recommend it to any future brides and grooms who are looking to have an indoor and outdoor celebration.

Stayed on premise for a wedding, lovely space. Main cabin has a well-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Pool, outdoor dance/dining area and lots of tables and chairs for use. A note: the entrance road up is very easy to miss at night, maybe an illuminated sign would be helpful.A word of warning: if you are picky about insects, be careful, as youre quite literally in the hills. Roly polys, spiders, mosquitos, and small scorpions are around.

My daughter and I visited four possible venues for my wedding and House on the Hill was the first place we went. The minute I got out of my car I knew it was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a place that felt casual but was still beautiful and had that hill country vibe. The accommodations were perfect as well because my husband had family coming from out of town. The whole weekend was just perfect and being able to stay at the venue allowed for us to have some downtime with our family and close friends in between all the fesitivities.Amanda was so helpful with all my questions (and I had a lot because I was doing this without a coordinator!) and she was very easy to get a hold of. It was also nice being able to visit the venue a few times leading up to the wedding.Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived on Friday and I cant say enough about how wonderful it was to have the entire property to ourselves for the weekend. It lent that intimate feel that we were looking for: family walking around with coffee in the morning, kids playing in the grass, and quiet moments before the ceremony.Love love love this place!All pictures by Darcie Westerlund.

I visited recently for a wedding.The location is beautiful. The setup and feel is relaxing and secluded.The place is well maintained.The only issue is not enough parking.

If you are looking for a great place to stay that is laid back with a gorgeous venue, this is it. The ambiance is awesome, they are super responsive if anything is not perfect or up to your standards. They check in without being overbearing or too involved. The tables on site easily worked for our mid size wedding. They will respond to your 50 emails and even lovingly handle all of the emails from your extended family. It was clean and nice, and everyone thought we spent way more than actually what was spent.

We loved our wedding at House on the Hill. It was the second venue we saw and we immediately loved the ease of DIY. Many venues in the area are more expensive and have more limitations whereas House on the Hill was accommodating and really left us with flexibility to create the wedding we wanted. The trees and greenary make decorations minimal as it has its own charm.We had plenty of people coming from out of town from where we easily filled the on site lodging. The venue served as a home base with family that has not seen each other for years and the different space made it easy for people to catch up. The pool was definitely a hit at the end of the reception in the hot summer of July!

We found this at the last minute just before booking another venue.WOW we could not have been more excited. The ability to house our families at the venue for several days was amazing. We were able to relax and enjoy time with everyone and decorate slowly over a cpl days. We had so much fun, the pool for the grandkids was the best part:) This venue is beautiful and I would say go take a look it just might be perfect for you as well!! We had an outdoor ceremony, indoor dinner and then dancing outside under the pavilion.

Highly recommended location, for an outdoor wedding!My wife and I did a lot of research for outdoor venues, for our special day. Some had nice locations and were extremely overpriced. Some had good prices, but required you to hire their bartender or their catering service only. Fortunately, we found House on the hill and they blended the best of everything we were looking for.We live not far from the location, so it was nice to keep the scenic hillside views that we love so much. Yet, when it came time for the special day...we were able to transport items quickly from home to the site. We opted to rent the location for the weekend, which also allowed us to have family and friends stay at the onsite lodging.We were allowed to bring in our own food and beverages, so no catering service or bartender was needed. It was wonderful to have more options for our choosing.The inside location was used for serving food and drinks and the covered area just outside was for our DJ and dance floor. I could not be happier with the location.The views, the atmosphere, the location, even the staff that set it up, were all great and I would definitely recommend this location!

I cannot recommend House on the Hill enough for any type of event youre planning. The grounds are beautiful with so many options for where you can hold events both inside and outside which gave us great peace of mind having a plan B, C, D, etc. with weather and a global pandemic! Having guests stay on site made the weekend so intimate and laid back and helped stretch out our wedding since everything moves so fast. The staff was so sweet and accommodating with all of my many questions and worries from the first visit to the day of. I 100% suggest booking a weekend/multiple night package because the price cant be beat and the value you get is amazing (chairs, tables, lodging, a full kitchen, AMAZING views). Truly a perfect place to begin our life together.

After a year of planning for our destination wedding, we had to postpone it due to COVID 19. We carefully selected our date (over a year in advance) to match our actual anniversary date. In a matter of days, all of our plans fell apart. We still wanted to do a small ceremony with our immediate family while we wait for our big destination wedding. After a thorough research, we came across house on the hill, which immediately caught our eye. We spoke to Amanda and explained our story and what we were looking to do, she was very compassionate, understanding and super helpful! We were able to get married on the day we had planned and we are very grateful! This venue is beautiful, amazing views, scenic areas to take beautiful pictures. We even had a backup option inside of the house in case it rained. Great experience from beginning to end. Definitely recommend!

Majority of our guest were from out of state, so House on the Hill was the perfect venue for us since we could accommodate our families at an affordable price. We were able the maximize our time with them because every event was in one location.We had dinner rehearsal the night before the wedding, the ceremony and the reception at House on the Hill. Amanda Lynn and Pandora were quick to respond, very helpful in giving us ideas for our setup and patient with us. They were easy to work with and extremely professional.My wedding guest could not stop talking about how comfortable the beds were and how much they enjoyed the tub in the main house. We will definitely book them for future events. We are so glad we chose House on the hill. Thank you so much!

I love finding new venues in the area. This one is a hidden gem. Clean, quaint and unique. Officiated a pre lunch wedding today in the gardens by the fountain. Great use of space perfect for any color scheme, style or theme. Photo from outside patio.

House on the Hill is wonderful!! Amazing place for a wedding!!!! It was a dream come true! Magical! It was so fun to have the rehearsal dinner Friday night with a pool party and then the luxury of having friends and family stay at cabins is SO awesome!! Amanda is so great. It was 96 degrees for our wedding (10/5/19) when normally it’s 86 degrees so she gave me suggestions on having dinner inside since we would melt if we ate outside. She was kind and helpful and I’m so grateful to have had her as our contact, she’s great!! We already want to go back!

GORGEOUS!! One of the most beautiful wedding venues Ive been to!!

This was truly the most perfect venue to have our intimate wedding celebration! Even with COVID, it was like an escape from reality in getting away to this rustic oasis. We had the best time with our families for an extended 3 night weekend. Our friends were seriously amazed at how cool the venue was. It fit my rustic/romantic theme and it was so easy to create decorations that fit into this environment perfectly. The space has so much potential for space outside to play games, dance, drink, swim and enjoy the outdoors but also plenty of beautiful space inside to stay cool, and the wrap around porch is breathtaking! I cannot rave enough about House on the Hill and would recommend to anyone to host their wedding or any other awesome weekend getaway!

We had our wedding here in February of 2019 It was amazing It had plenty of room for my out-of-state family to stay in people loved it beautiful location.I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a wedding location that will accommodate some guests and the prices totally justified. Its also super easy to get the services you want versus having to use services that a location may have you strong armed into.Highly highly recommend also the staff there are amazing they were super easy to talk to and communicate with and kept me updated at all times on everything. We added an extra day to our stay which I do recommend for a weekend wedding very glad we did It gave us extra time to clean and just extra time to hang out and relax.

Is a beautiful cozy spot.

I was hired by a client in the middle of the pandemic and they advised me that they lost 1/2 of the deposit because they had to reschedule their wedding in the middle of a pandemic, when city ordinances are in full effect. They’re more concerned about their money than the client. they were offered 1/2 of the deposit towards a new date but had already lost 2k of it which was not a choice but the city would not allow big gatherings.all other vendors were okay and understanding but this place? doesn’t care.DO NOT RECOMMEND

House on the Hill was a wonderful venue for our wedding! The view was amazing and pictures turned out wonderfully. The staff was always supportive and quick to reply leading up to the wedding and during the event. We only had the venue for the evening (not overnight) but the back bedrooms still ended up being an awesome place for the kids to wonder to as they got tired and the party kept going. If we did it all over again, we would not change anything about the venue. Thank you, House on the Hill, for being such a great space and accommodating!

We had the most wonderful wedding at House on the Hill, I cannot sing their praises enough. Not only are the grounds and venue beautiful, clean and homey, but the staff was nothing short of amazing.We had our wedding planned for April 2020, but due to the pandemic were forced to postpone. Pandora and Amanda were amazing through the whole process. So incredibly positive, flexible and understanding. We rescheduled and they did everything in their power to make it as easy as possible to make our plans work.We ended up rebooking in October 2020, the pandemic was still happening and they were very knowledgable about how to have a safe event during covid. We were graced with beautiful weather and had the most amazing time. Would highly recommend having your event at House on the Hill

This places speakers + sledgehammer = peace and quiet.Im surprised nobody has sued this place because its right next to a neighborhood blasting annoying music all night.

Perfect place for a wedding

We recently had the opportunity to stay the weekend at House On the Hill for my brothers wedding and it was the perfect fit for our families! The rooms and grounds were clean and well kept. Kitchen was stocked with fair amount of dishes/pans for cooking. The swimming pool was a hit and kept us cooled off. Another plus are the porches! They have plenty of porch space around the main house equipped with furniture and a big swing. It was so nice to hang out and enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and then take in the breezes at night. I would also like to add that Lynn, the manager, is so nice and helpful. She helped us retrieve some items that were accidentally left behind. Over all, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend House On the Hill for large family/party gatherings.

I cant say enough good things about this place to convey how incredible it made our wedding. Lynn was very helpful and made sure everything was perfect. Despite a surprise col front and rain our wedding was fantastic. The property is beautiful and perfect for big events. I highly recommend House on the Hill!!

The pictures do not do this venue justice. Last year after touring typical wedding venues near downtown, we randomly found House on the Hill on Google Maps. And we are so glad we did! The atmosphere was the perfect blend of magical and laid back during our wedding this past weekend and it would not be possible without House on the Hill. Our wedding party and wedding items stayed at our venue Thu through Sun night. We had so much fun and it removed a lot of the stress of regular weddings. Lynn, the events coordinator is a joy to work with. Its easy to tell how much the staff at House on the Hill love working there. I hope this venue stays the same through the years. Looking forward to returning for an anniversary party.

Beautiful views and a terrific venue

Great venue for a great weekend and wedding. Definitely tour first to get an idea of what youre renting. Also, a Coral snake was under the balcony near the pond on our last day. Snake wasnt near anyone and was just out of the hot sun, but beware of snakes I guess.

Amazing location. Close to many things, yet quiet and serene. Accommodations were adequate for the wedding. Parking is difficult for larger groups, or attendees will need to walk a steep incline of a road to get to location. Overall, impressed with amenities and privacy.

This is in a residential neighborhood, not a ranch in the country. Anyone considering an event here, please keep this in mind and respect the environment. Statements like this, Because of our location there are no requirements to turn music off or down early. are extremely disrespectful of neighbors. Its fine to come in and have a good time, but shut it down at a reasonable hour so that the locals can get some sleep (particularly on school nights).Update, just heard from management and they were quite apologetic for this recent incident (late music on a school night). I really appreciate management that is so attentive and respectful. Bodes well for anyone looking to host an event IMHO.

Beautiful venue! Attended a wedding here. It was great because those who came in from out of town could stay on site, swim, and eat together. The wedding and reception space itself was great and could have fit more than the 30 people in attendance. Lots of shade so it wasnt too warm, even at the end of August.

I performed my best friends wedding here. It was a hidden gem to me until that weekend. By far the most awesome wedding venue I have seen yet in the Austin area yall!

Its exactly what its called. A rather nice house on a very steep hill. Went to a wedding here and Im sure this location could be used for all sorts of events/parties.

This is a gorgeous venue with plenty of room to sprawl out. My guests had nothing but awesome things to say about the place. If I could do it all over again, Id book this place time and time again. There was no better luxury for my DIY wedding than being able to have the TIME to make it all happen! Love this place ♥

House On The Hill was a great wedding venue!!!! If you want a rustic place with views and a scenic area with limestone and a waterfall, then this is the place for you! It’s very quiet and has rooms for twenty people to stay overnight. It has a pool as well and a full kitchen!!!My daughter was married here on July 7th of this year! Everyone loved the venue and the accommodations! Go look!!!! You will love it!!!

Ive planned a few weddings at this venue and I love that there is lodging for the bridal party and family. You can move in Friday, have the wedding on Saturday and leave ON Sunday. Fun times

Excellent place to have a wedding!

My son and daughter in law got married here. It is beautiful and has many great areas for seating etc.

We got married at House on the Hill and we really liked it! What we loved about it most was how laid back the atmosphere was. It just felt like a big backyard party and thats what we were going for. The one thing that I was a little disappointed about was how much mud and dirt there was on the main lawn. From the time we booked it to the time we got married, there was a pretty sizable change in the amount of grass on the lawn because it seems like there was a lot of foot traffic, but it was still a very nice place and I felt happy with the way things turned out. The property manager, Lynn, was extremely helpful and patient with me. It was an absolute delight to work with her.

We had a family birthday and overnight stay here and it was fantastic. Beautiful rooms/common areas and views of the hill country. Highly recommend.

We here at Say Cheese Photo Booths love working with the folks at House on The Hill! They take great care of their guests and are easy to work with as a vendor. Plus, its just a great venue to have an event. :-)

Wedding venue was nice and had a great view. The sprinklers were used the day before which created an awful muddy pond in front of the waterfall so walking down the isle was a bit messy the next day. Make sure you leave on time out of respect for the grounds keeper and other events.

First impressions is just like the saying, You cant judge a book by its cover. In this case, you cant judge the website by its photos. You have to see this place in-person! We are definitely booking this venue!

My husband and I got married at House on the Hill on June 1 and couldnt be happier with our experience! From the beautiful property complete with a stunning waterfall and gorgeous hill-country views, to the spacious property that allowed for a 135-person wedding to still feel intimate, this is the venue for you if you want a weekend-long wedding near central Austin!Lynn was amazing to work with and was available to answer our calls and schedule site visits so we could make sure we had our ts crossed and is dotted before the big day. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful DIY wedding venue with lots of options for lodging right on-site.

Went to neice wedding there ambiance was awesome.. spectacular view.. outdoor covered area for dancing and alot of space that sleeps 20 ...price was more reasonable than most she had checked into

We used House on the Hill for a graduation party and were able to rent it for an entire weekend. Wow did we all have a blast! I recommend this place all day, everyday!

I got married here in 2006. The facilities are amazing. We rented the facility for 72 hours. The 10 acre estate sleeps 25, so our friends and family got to know each other for 2 days before the wedding. The reason for the low service rating is the owner, Pandora. She appears emotionally unstable. On the day before the wedding she transformed into owner-zilla, cussing at my wifes family when they asked if she would fix the plumbing in their room. I would still recommend this place, but would hire an event planner to deal with the unstable owner.
