Todd and the team at Colvin are top notch! They are trustworthy and priced fair. They have helped out a ton with my wife’s 1973 AM general which is used for her business. They have done a killer job and go above and beyond. And they seem to always be up for the task (these AM generals can be a nightmare).Highly recommend! We won’t use anyone else!

Great experience working with Todd and the Colvin team to replace the clutch and an axle on my 1979 Jeep CJ5. Todd was communicative and professional throughout the process and the work was completed in a timely fashion. Definitely plan on coming back and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have some work done on an older vehicle.

Colvin has been working on my cars doing mechanical and body work for over 20 years and are simply the best around. Friendly and professional at all times and are only interested in providing the highest quality work.

I love this place. Been there with three different vehicles (five counting my wife and daughters) and never had a complaint. Front desk guys become my friends and know me when I call (maybe cause I drive my cars a little hard) and they are mechanics too so they know of what they speak!Owners an interesting cat too, as is his son. Great when you get em talking. Highly recommend this shop.

Hands down the best auto shop in town. If there is a problem they are honest as the day is long on the repair needed. My entire family, over 7 cars of ours have been maintained there over the years. Additionally, their used car inspection is great. I have no fear buying a used car if theyve examined it first.

I have had nothing but great things to say about Colvin Automotive. I would not consider this shop for you run of the mill, everyday, mechanical needs. This is a shop for projects, exotic, classics and customs. The custom rebuild engine they have done for me is wonderful, and now a very high performance engine. KC is great guy, and will talk you through the whole process. Yes, it cost money, but I am not looking for a cheap job on my custom rebuild.

These guys are top notch. They took care of my issues with my 2000 model F-250 with the 7.3L diesel that Covert Ford failed to properly address for 6 years. They are friendly, interested in helping you and actually care about your satisfaction. If I could write a negative review for Covert Ford here, I would.

These guys helped me out over the new years and got my car back to running smooth as well as a beautiful custom welding job on my SS exhaust. Excellent work and always a joy to see the cars they get to work on.

I drove my 40 Chevy street rod to Austin in June. Started having fuel tank problems. The folks there looked at it right away and had a solution. They had me back on the road a few days later, car running great and the price was extremely decent.

I recently have been going back and forth on emails for a possible Detailer position. Told them I can only do certain days they said they cant do it. Till I got a further email saying come in for an Interview. Let alone the places I have worked is from used car dealerships when I was younger. The aviation industry. Anything from base model vehicles to Teslas &Lamborghinis and on the aviation side I detailed from small Cessna Citations to a 777. Nothing was professional about these people. The interview was at 3 pm I got there at 2:50 waited till 3 no problem. Ken the guy Im supposed to interview with. Looks at me and walks past me and doesnt come back till 3:25 by this time I dont even want the interview anymore he comes back like he didnt do what he just did. And wants to talk about me working there for 40 hours a week. Mind I tell you from before I told them I am helping somewhere else on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Then they said ohh u must have got that interview email by mistake. Never Have I been so mad after an interview in my life. A waste of time. Not professional and a place I wouldnt even want to work at.

Ive had nothing but good experiences with Robert, KC and the entire Colvin crew. Like anything good..they are worth the wait. Be realistic in your expectations, they are busy, stay busy and have a lot of existing customers.

Absolutely terrible management. They signed a contract with me to complete my restoration of 1970 mustang, they demanded all the money up front before beginning work on my vehicle but that I would have it back in 6 months. 36 months later I got my car back... only after squeezing me for 50% or 20% more very couple months... in total 150% more payment even though I paid everything up front. So 250% paid on the agreed amount and they give me a car back that does not run, is barely slapped together on the interior (seriously it looks terrible on the inside) The only redeeming factor is that the paint and body crew actually know what they are doing... maybe talk to one of them after hours or maybe the employees should start their own shop... because Ken and K.C. Colvin are crooks. Oh and to get my car back, they held it ransom for another 30% more... these guys are literally criminal.

Just picked up my Ferrari 308 from the shop. The guys at Colvin have taken care of this beauty for nearly 20 yrs, and it runs like super charged butter. This time was a replacement of the original carpet and they did an absolutely stellar job. Right on the estimate, less days needed than we thought, and they detailed it for me, as well. I couldnt be happier with the job, the shop, and the guys. Thanks, fellas!!

This place is horrible... They charged almost double what they originally quoted, claiming it was a custom vehicle despite the fact that they say they specialize on custom and unique vehicles. On top of paying double multiple things they were supposed to fix were not fixed correctly the first time, meaning I had to take my truck back to have things fixed. The most ABSURD thing about this is that after bringing my truck back, the speedometer still did not work and the slimy owner Keith had charged my credit card on file an EXTRA 200 some dollars to fix something they did not fix yet the second time.... Save yourself some money and headache and go somewhere else.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Colvin today. They assisted in a dyno tune event for 10 or so cars and were GREAT to work with. Super friendly and helpful. When some things went wrong with a couple of the cars, they not only provided lots of information and troubleshooting help, but also let us use their lifts and some tools. Other shops would have just told us to take a hike.Cory was super easy to work with to set the event up. They even brought in donuts in the morning for us and had a food truck come for lunch. They even had me come in early a week ago, so they get get used to strapping in our cars (Genesis Coupes) and they put in a big cooler that took ice blocks in order to keep the dyno room cool. When it comes to service and expertise, they are second to none. If you need advanced tuning for your sports car, these are your guys.

Very pleased with the full engine restoration Colvin Auto did on my 1948 Staright 8 flathead motor. Even with all the challenges the car presented the staff at Colvin went above and beyond to ensure my one of a kind Pontiac Hearse was right The day after picking up my vehicle I was able to use this unique car to pay honor to an Air Force Ret Veteran and give his funeral the distinct touch with vintage flair he deserved and the family was thankful for. If it was not for the dedication of the Colvin staff that would not have been possible.

I give them 3 stars because they fixed the issue I brought the car in for. And only 3 because now I have a new issue I have to address immediately due to their carelessness. I guess even Im more upset of the lack of ownership in the incident and the service tech that walked off mocking me.

Took our 67 MGB, running great, except for a small leak in fuel tank when full of gas that we did not want to deal with ourselves. Right off the bat, they over crank the ignition, twisted the ignition switch, and shorted everything through the new wiring harness we had just put in a couple weeks prior. They say it was a faulty ignition switch and would happily fix things - $900 for just the harness, not including labor and other parts. We had just installed a new harness, $350 from Moss Motors. So we had to tow the car back to our house on our dime ($95) and fix. They said the fuel tank was fixed and everything good to go, so we payed the bill and got the car home. We go to start the car after installing new harness bought again for $350 from Moss Motors, and they had not finished hooking up everything to the fuel pump, so gas goes everywhere into my houses garage floor. We cleanup, fix and try to start the car again, no go. Everythings a mess - so we call Colvins and they agree to tow it back in and get in running, on them. So, were thinking great, couple minor updates and we get our MGB back. Couple of weeks later and we get a call from Colvins wondering about our MGB. Seems the folks working on our car were no longer at the company and they were wondering why the car had been seemingly stored there for a couple of months. Ugggh. Tell the new people the story, and they say theyll have it ready and running by xyz time. They call us a week after the xyz time, said it was ready. We get there to take it home, they tell us its backfiring and not running great, but it starts or we can tow it home for you for $180 (remember we had our own tow there for $95 and the car was running awesome) - and oh, heres your bill for everything else...

My boyfriend and I live down the street from Colvin, first off its always a treat to just drive by as they are always working on the most badass cars in Austin! Classics to next gen. But secondly and most importantly, Colvin has worked and did a rock star job on all our cars, a 1969 MGB, 1987 IRoc Camero, 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 2009 Toyota Camary. Honestly, we would never go anywhere else. Awesome people, all talent, and the most important...100% transparent!

Let me start by saying Im an automotive professional with 40 years of experience. Ive done 90% (everything but major paint and upholstery stitching), and in particular, restoring cars for the past several years. I didnt have a huge network of work associates as I complete much of what I do solo and I am so paying for that and my choice to work with Colvin Automotive now..literally out of my own pocket. Ive been experiencing some health problems as of late and upon a recommendation from a friend, chose to work with Colvin Automotive as I was/am in a bind and needed the assistance to complete a project for a very important ( they all are !) client. Not only did Colvin Automotive perform the completed work poorly, I was billed for thousands of dollars in work that absolutely never happened and I can and will prove it through every means possible, for as long as it takes, starting now, and be sure that in as much as I can do or say, that this never happens to anyone else . K.C.Colvin by most accounts and legal ones has kept his business and nose clean. In contrast, Ken Scheiler, Colvin Automotives shop manager, and my primary contact in all transactions, seems to have not been so upstanding. You can peruse the following court case and judgement against Ken, in California. ( Seems my link wont work here, but if youll right click and/or copy and paste Ken Scheiler ARB, you can view his importation of 137 Mexican VW Beetles into California, where a good number of them were sold, then seized and crushed after people bought them thinking they were road legal since Ken did the paperwork as such. Im small potatoes compared to that, yet still an individual paying for his actions and my trusting him.)Beyond that, while Ken is somewhat new to Texas and not especially active, as such was his past, he for sure is no stranger to the inside of the courtroom. We found multiple instances, in most every business he has ever been in where he has been sued, or in some cases sues others..frequently. Whether K.C. is knowledgeable of this remains to be seen, so I wont say he is complicit, yet I found the information so if he is not aware, he is now.Upon my project being essentially held hostage, until I settled the bill, which I did immediately to regain possession, I began the laborious and literally painful task of finishing and/or undoing what Colvin hadnt done or had done incorrectly. Im essentially working for free, for not days or weeks, but months and the money I was overcharged and have to spend in time and cash is approaching tens of thousands of dollars. You can imagine the discomfort this causes, especially when youre not in the best health. Now, often mistakes happen, yet sometimes people are either overcharged fair market value or flatly charged for work that never happened. I happen to be very close to some video professionals, and have reached out, for verification and objectivity sake, to other automotive professionals to verify, document and present, in no uncertain terms what did and didnt happen here, beyond just my opinion. As someone who takes pride in doing the best work possible, for the best price per whatever someone can afford, rich or not, I absolutely cant stand it when people give the rest of us the reputation of being shady, and in my particular case, Im not so unhealthy as to not have already taken steps to protect my customers sizable investment/project and make things right, and in the very least educate the public and communicate that while sometimes these type of things go away with a whimper, pockets drained, and lives impacted with no recourse, this instance isnt one of them. Im local, have a broad base of people that believe as I do and Im moving forward with the intent that if nothing else, to cause pause within Colvin Automotive, prospective customers, and maybe as a side-effect announce they pretty much rattled the wrong damn cage.Regards,Marc DeBusk
