Save your money (and your nails) and do not go here. Ive visited Sugarcoat Buckhead enough times to fill a stamp card hoping that it was just an off tech. This past time I went in this week was the absolute last.I went in for a full acrylic set with gel polish and a trendy french nail design. The nail tech was super nice but my nails look terrible. My tips were all put on crooked and theyre not the length I requested or the design. My biggest concern was the shape. I asked for almond shaped nails and my nails were so incredibly uneven. I didnt take a good look at them until I got home and noticed how botched they were and the top clear coat was literally bubbled. I was charged $90 (not including tip) for a terrible job.I called and they advised I could come in to fix them. The woman was nice and tried her best but insisted that they were not crooked. I was told they were even and that I cant base my experience there off one set, but Im now stuck with terribly done nails that are still crooked and not to my satisfaction.I would not recommend this place for quality nails.
I’ve always gone to the sugarcoat in Midtown and they were always so amazing. Service is always 5 stars. But I decided to try the Buckhead location because Midtown was all booked yesterday to get a manicure done and the employee I got was terrible. She was nice, but she was just not a good nail tech. I could tell she was very inexperience and she didn’t take her time at all. First of all, she cut too much of my cuticles and I started bleeding.. she didn’t know how to make it stop. Second, I asked for square nails, she shaped them in such a rush that they look crooked. And third, the application of the nail polish looks like an elementary school student did them. All in all, I would not come back. I would just stick with the Midtown location. At that rate, I would have just done my own nails instead of wasting money because what I received was ridiculous. Never again
Poor experience my third time going. Booked an appointment, the girl I booked with apparently quit which is fine however the necessary steps were not taken to make sure my services were completed even though when I called to confirm they assured me they would be. Severely inconvenienced, could only get my toes done and not my nails.
I went into the Buckhead location about 4 days ago and asked for acrylics. It was pretty empty, pretty clean with the exemption of some towels on the floor. I don’t know why, but my nails are already lifting. They charged me $60 which was crazy to me for acrylics, and they’ve already chipped on the corners. Also I have gaps that are visible in some nails where the glue wasn’t glued down properly. I’ve gotten acrylics countless times and this has never happened. I’m usually able to wear them for 2 weeks and get a fill in but this was a waste of money. Won’t come back here.
My favorite nail salon in Atlanta! I love getting ombré from Monica, and Vee is so great at designs and has excellent customer service. Love the staff & the service.
I had a mani-pedi with gel scheduled for 2 hours, and it was only 30 minutes. They didn’t do any cuticle work, and the gel peeled off one of my nails after I got home. I had to schedule a new appointment to get it fixed. When I got there, they didn’t even have someone for me, and then finally someone fixed it for me, but she only did 2 sessions of the gel instead of 4 like they usually do. I didn’t get a single apology or discount or anything. On top of it, I paid $100 for this session that was horrible. I’ve been here 3 times, and 2/3 times were so bad!!! Hate this place and never going again!
This isn’t my go to nail salon, I only came for my friend because she booked a group pedicure for her birthday. I booked for SNS + acrylic. So instead of dipping my nail in the powder, I like to have the powder applied with the acrylic liquid. They were extremely confused by my request. I literally had to explain 5 times what I wanted. And I know it was doable because my preferred nail salon does it for me all. the. time. I had to show the nail tech a youtube video of what I was referring to. She SAID she could do it. I got my pedicure first, which it was completely trash. I still have dead, peeling skin on my feet. I got regular polish on my toes and she did not apply the topcoat smoothly. I should’ve know my nails weren’t going to be good either. They’re decent but if you look at them long you can see the clear topcoat (again) wasn’t applied smoothly and the application of the sns powder + acrylic liquid was really bad. And to be charged $65 for acrylic is outrageous. I never pay no more than $45 at my preferred nail salon. So obviously I will not be back because clearly no one does sns + acrylic at this location. And ridiculously overpriced. I usually try to wear my nails for 2 weeks but I think 1 week will have to do as I am super upset I paid $100+ for this. Definitely try Lush Nail Bar Toco Hills on Druid Hills. They’re always super busy but I definitely see why because their customer service is great. They accept walk-ins and Sam, the owner, makes sure his customers are satisfied.
Work too fast, 2 days later my nail started to split for not properly filing...
I couldnt be more disappointed by Leos service last week. He rushed through my mani/pedi as if I was the biggest inconvenience to his day. Within 24 hours my nails and toes started to chip and peel. Great way to enjoy my vaca........
First if all my technicuan, Vivian, was polite professional & did a great job on my SNA mani-pedi! But, the hostess is not only rude & passive- agressive, but she is also an airhead that has forced me to report this shop to the state of Georgia. Everytime & I mean EVERYTIME I come to this location & shell out a C note or more this broad screws up my experience! This time, she sat a family of three right next to me in an empty salon. No 6-feet apart -- in the middle of a pandemic! There were empty pedi chairs everywhere! Noone else was in the shop! All 3 of the bowls ended up being dirty. Instead of sending the family back to the front they hovered around my chair with a chatty kid while an employee sprayed strong cleaning solution in all 3 bowls while profusely apologizing while I nearly choked! My tech ended up taking me to a different station to complete my service. When I expressed my disservice, the hostess who looked like a deer in headlights lied and said all of the other chairs were broken (There were people getting serviced when I came in & my girlfriend had an appointment that evening & was serviced in one of the broken chairs. Then she offered me a stamp and told me the owner of this franchise could not be contacted, but would contact me instead. This was done in her aggressive manner. Really!? Im a news reporter and know better! Ill wait in the owner though and will never go back. And, boy will I spread the world. Private salon for me from now on!! I cant! I wont!
I went into the “new” midtown location today and my experience started rocky only because a mix up in location. I ended up missing my appointment time, but they made accommodations which was so sweet. I finally found a new nail home! The overall atmosphere was clean and comfortable on the inside! The prices are high but I’m used to paying 50+ for nail service.
My biweekly treat. Ask for Vee or Vivian!
The ladies at the Buckhead location are amazing and very welcoming. They do amazing work on my nails each time and are super friendly! The salon and the tools look clean and well taken care of. I definitely recommend!
One of the cleanest nail salons Ive gone to. Cindy did an amazing and incredibly attentive job on my gel manicure and pedicure. Ladies seem to really know their regular customers but were very pleasant to me as a newbie. Will definitely go back.
GO 👏🏼 SEE 👏🏼 TAYLOR👏🏼Today was my first time at sugarcoat Buckhead and I have not left the nail salon feeling that relaxed in a long time. Taylor gave me the best leg and foot massage I’ve gotten in years and my nails look amazing. Her attention to detail was phenomenal. Will be back 1000%!
After passing by the Sandy Springs location one day I decided the next time I was around I would stop in an make an appointment... Im so glad I did. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new nail place. After trial and error with a few others, this one exceeded my expectations. I had Monica and she was great. Not knowing the best color for my manicure, she recommended a color and I couldnt be more pleased. Ive made another appointment for a facial and massage later this month... I cant wait. The salon is clean and elegant, its perfect! I will recommend to my friends.
Nina is an absolute sweetheart!! I tried SNS for the first time and she did an immaculate job- Ive never had tips that felt so natural :) The girl at the front desk was super helpful too. Thanks so much!
My cousin and I had an excellent experience! Linda and Mia were very personable and gave us a great manicure and pedicure. I would highly recommend them!
This is my daughters favorite place to get her nails done. They are always kind and do a great job.
Cute salon but they did a terrible job on our manicures. We were very underwhelmed by the customer service. My friend had polish spots on her skin that weren’t cleaned off. They left us in the chairs and didn’t tell us how long we needed to dry for and they never brought us to sit in front of fans. They never came back to tell us we were dried and good to go. They just left and literally said nothing to us. I felt forgotten about. My friend and I were confused. Also we got the same service but my friend was charged $2 less and when I asked, they said I got the lotion and she didn’t. But we both ordered the same mani. Will not be returning and I suggest you go somewhere else for your manis!!
Today was my first visit with my wife at their new location on the same road. It was my worst gift and experience from my wonderful wife due to a substandard service in the spa industry.Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to experience excellent services to compare with sugarcoat’s human capital-employees. As a big support of the Taiwanese owner, I hate to leave due to poor employee hiring. The whole service was in a rush. They took only less than ten minutes on my manicure which was supposed to be a comprehensive service.Lastly, as a physician, I observed the sanitation process of the whirlpool was below standard for Georgia State Cosmetology Board.Overall, nice atmosphere, but hope to see improvement if they want to be sustainable.
Overpriced but fine. It was clean and the girls behind the front desk were nice. The technician seemed annoyed when I asked her to repaint one nail that she had done super sloppy. She did but was sort of rude about it. After all was said and done it is a nice manicure, however, basic and $18! They also dont offer any chair massages or other services. I probably wont be back. There are better options out there.
I booked an appointment, and received a confirmation. I showed up early, stood outside the shop for 20 minutes - the door was locked and the salon remained closed. Very, very disappointed!! Will have my manicures done elsewhere and continue everyone I know to do the same. Clearly not a well run salon at all.
I love this place. Theyre always courteous, can usually fit me in when I call day of, and my mani lasts much longer than other places Ive been to around Atlanta. Ive honestly never been disappointed, and pretty much refuse to go anywhere else.
Not enough staff and horrible front desk service. Unless you make an appointment dont even consider this place. Ive attempted to go several times and they have limited staff so Im always told to come back. When I come back at the time they suggest they are again full with only two customers in the shop. I drove 25 mins back and all they say is sorry. They clearly dont value customers or thier business at all.
Don’t waste your time or money coming here. This location is terrible, which is very shocking compared to the other sugarcoat locations where I have previously had positive experiences. The staff is rude and so obviously annoyed to do the service you are paying them for. I set my card on the table before my nails were painted off to the side so I didn’t have to fumble with my wallet and the woman took it midway through and charged me before my nails were painted. So weird? Like how would I know what to tip you before you were done? It’s not like one would pay for your food while dining in a restaurant before eating. On top of that when I gently asked my technician to go back and properly shape my nails to match one another she got extremely defensive and blamed me for not saying so earlier... SO unprofessional haha. I definitely will not return.
I like sugarcoat a lot — I can walk over and get in and out rather quickly and I find it rather affordable. It’s clean, open and aesthetically pleasing. There are a few downsides, though. Some nail techs don’t operate at the same skill level as others (I’ve had good gel jobs and bad ones). The lighting is a little funky, too, the polish colors never seem to look the same after I leave. But it is a fun little area and everyone is friendly. I’d definitely recommend.
I like Sugar Coat it’s a nice salon Betty did a great job on my SNS and I love Iaya . I would give it five stars but they don’t have enough SnS colors for my nails . I’ll be sad to have to find a new place but I miss some of my favorite colors that most salon carry but they don’t
Tee gave me the best mani/pedi! However, after I was done she told me she normally does lashes. Ill keep my fingers crossed for next time.
Very rude staff if you don’t “look” the part. Google hours said 12-7pm on Monday I ran around wasting time and even sitting outside from 11:45-12pm till they opened tried to park valet which is not advertised to not be present on Sundays and mondays tried to self park yet the self parking only had 1 space reserved for sugarcoat all others would get you booted or towed paid for parking else where to walk up and see they had been open since 10am (wrong google hours) and I didn’t have to wait outside tried to get a pedicure at 12:02pm and the receptionist told me to come back at 2:30pm because they were booked with appointments however those future appointments were not there yet so basically please advertise this place as appointment only walk ins will be scheduled an appointment (later on in the day after the appointments have came or if they even come)
The salon is cute but thats about all they have going. I got my nails done, the same night my gel polish was chipping and the next day two whole nails chipped so bad I had to take the polish off. The salon uses just about the worst gel polish out there (OPI) as their main variety of colors. I have never been to a place where they had to do so much cleanup for a bad paint job. Will never go back, over priced for such a poor job.
Wonderful salon. Great manicurists.
The facility is nice a clean, but my pedicure was horrible. The pedicure felt rushed and the polish job was very sloppy. It was not a relaxing or professional experience.
Pro: parking is freeCon: I waited over 30 minutes for my service to start. 2 ppl walked in after me and were helped before me. I guess the fact I wasnt dolled up made them think Im not a tipper so they werent in a rush to take care (i tip 30% for good service and 20% if I didnt like it) this is beyond not liking it. I was unable to relax nor did I feel valued or welcomed. I will not be returning and will not recommend anyone else to them
It was okay. Paint started chipping off after a week later. Also, I had to do my own cuticles when I got home as they were really not taken care of the way I usually get a pedicure.
Got an amazing gel manicure from T at the Buckhead location. She was very detail oriented and took the time to make my nails perfect. I will definitely be going back!!!
I love the close net feel at Sugarcoat Buckhead. They always make me feel welcome and NOT an assembly line of customers. Genae take care of my nails and make sure I have the best type of service and look good! Thanks ladies
Great place loved my manicure!!
Service is awful if you want to get a basic mani pedi on your real nails. Constant upselling and then a piss poor attitude if you refuse to go along.
LOVE IT!!Great employes and clients!I am from Chicago and this was by far the best pedicure I have had. The atmosphere was great and relaxing and the conversations shared with the other clients and the employes was very nice.I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and my feet feel and look amazing!I would recommend this place to anyone.
My wife goes here and I have on occasion been wrestled onto the white sofa-like bench while I soaked my toes. Its very clean, the ladies are nice and they have water. I really am picky about water, I know its weird, but theres tasted like spring water. I cant say much since Im a guy but I love the way my wifes nails and toes look after we leave this place. Parking sucks - go for the Valet.
Tea Taylor and Ana are the best!!! Great service clean and best selection of colors in town
Wow, manicure for me meant happiness not here, thr lady that took care of me was more into other people got upset when I accidentally touched something, and only nice if you are white or rich. Never ever again!
I called Sugarcoat at 6 to ask them how much it was to get a basic pedicure and they told me $25 . I then called when I arrived asking if they validate parking and they said yes. As soon as my bestfriend and I walked in, that’s when they said that they stop talking customers at 6:30PM . They never thought of telling us before and had us drive all the way over there for nothing . Very displeased .
Sugarcoat has a convenient location right next to the new Buckhead Atlanta Mall along with a beautiful glamorous atmosphere and cozy lounge seating to relax on after a long day of shopping. This is where the real pampering begins.
I love Sugarcoat! Jessie at the Virginia Highlands location is AMAZING!!!! Everyone is so polite and thorough...I recommend them to everyone!
Worst place ever. Do not go there. The staff is unprofessional and service is unacceptable.
This place sucks its like a cattle call they hardly clean your nails they rush you so much. Broken equipment dirty equipment not sterilized at all. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere . Terrible worst place ever.
The staff is rude and unprofessional. They offer basic services at high prices. I got a mani & pedi. They just painted my nails and did some filing. My biggest issue was how they handled my gift certificate that I received from one of my parents as a gift. I work at a school in Buckhead. Prior to my services, I explained I had a gift certificate. There were no problems. It wasnt until I was serviced and ready to pay when my gift certificate became a problem. They stated that it was an invalid gift certificate. It had the Sugarcoat label/logo and the expiration date hadnt expired yet. After explaining to them that it was a gift from a parent and I had no idea how the parent got the gift certificate, I still had to pay the full price for my half done mani & pedi. The worse experience I have ever had at a nail salon. Dont go here, there are better places in the city!!!
My sister and I came in for our appointments and were treated poorly. The two woman doing our nails weren’t friendly at all and the whole session was awkward and uncomfortable. In the middle of washing my hands the woman doing my nails asks if I wanted to pay now or after and then insisted I pay now so I wouldn’t “mess up my nails” as if I would give her my card RIGHT AFTER she put the clear coat on before they could dry. I understand some nail salons may do this but I’ve never experienced it, the woman could tell by how I reacted and in all honestly it made me feel like they thought we would try to not pay and run out AND I felt forced to tip more than I should have for this experience. I tipped nicely because I was worried she would do my nails poorly, and after she saw how much I tipped she then was friendly and asked me questions to break the ice which made me frustrated because if I hadn’t tipped she wouldn’t have even spoke to me or have been nice. My sister had the same treatment where the woman doing her nails had her pay ahead of time (my sister got acrylics so she wouldn’t mess them up by paying after because they would be fine once done.) The woman doing my sisters nails treated her as if she was stupid and commented on the amount of scars my sister had on her hands AND how sweaty her hands were, my sister gets nervous easily and I understand that it wouldn’t be pleasant but for the woman to stop MULTIPLE times to wipe her hands off in front of my sister was disrespectful. Next time maybe get some gloves, it’s less rude and my sister even said she could put the fan on her hands and the woman declined saying it would ruin her nails. This experience was horrible and we won’t be coming back.
Good service, when they dont decide to turn you away with an hour left open. The roswell road location is a lot cleaner and more attentive (they are newer)
Love this place 😘I think the service and personality
Ask for Iaya, and she will hook it up every time! :)
I have been going to Sugarcoat for years and its always a pleasant experience!
Just left the nail shop after making reservations for my step mom and I for several services for my upcoming wedding. The staff were rude, didn’t even want to make conversation with us. When I tried to keep up the conversation the ladies were not interested at all. They rushed through the service, making us feel very uncomfortable. I felt unwelcome all around. I’m not quite sure why they felt the need to make us feel so awkward. I experienced such horrible customer service rather than a happy and joyous occasion as it should have been. Even more concerning, the women who were doing mine and my step moms nails were quite friendly with other customers. The young lady at the front desk was so rude and unprofessional.I choose this place as it was quite nostalgic for me. When my sister was getting married years ago, we booked our nails at Sugercoat. It was such a great experience and so fun. Obviously the 8+ years that has lapsed since then, the love has significantly gone downhill. So highly disappointed I could cry. It was also so embarrassing having my step mom there as I was the one who had suggested it, and used it as a thank you for all she’s done for the upcoming wedding. I will NEVER recommend this place or ever return.
It was pretty, but, as others have said, there was a lack of organization/time management that would have been unacceptable in any circumstances other than mine. People were serviced out of order. It seems that it would be a nice place to be a regular costumer if you hit it off with the employees. They were very friendly toward and looked out for the people they knew, but didnt seem to notice so much if others were waiting because there wasnt an organized system for queuing people for services. So Id say dont be shy about clarifying when you will be serviced. And then become a regular if you live nearby. And then subtly suggest that maybe they have an organization problem.
I was referred by my grandaughter to try this place out so, I went with her recently. These young ladies really need lessons on mannerism, and great customer skills. The young lady at the front desk is very rude, and unprofessional. All I wanted was a fill in on my acrylics, and I ended up leaving with uneven long nails, cuts on my cuticles, and blotched fingernail polish. When I informed the young lady who serviced me that, I was dissatisfied she told me (sorry). She didnt even attempt to fix my nails or refer me to someone else in the salon. I informed them that, I wasnt going to pay for bad service, and shouldnt be treated in this manner. After, going back and forth with the nail technician she finally said it was free of charge. Dont let the nice decor of this place fool you, because their attitudes dont fit this place.
Today, myself, staff & senior residents received the most SATISFACTORY, PLEASANT & PROFESSIONAL service from the Chastain (Roswell Rd.) location! The ENTIRE staff was friendly, efficient & very patient with the elderly which is sometimes required with such a task. We were all given mani’s & pedi’s on behalf of Lacrisha Saba (Mrs. Georgia America 2017)& her Adopt A Senior, With Love Global non- profit organization & the experience was so rewarding for us all. I will definitely be returning & recommending. I spoke w/ the owner briefly when thanking her & her energy was very genuine & inviting. They gave us all bottled waters & holiday snacks :) THANK YOU SUGARCOAT STAFF... we appreciate you! -Lark
Amazing in the inside. Wonderful customer service.
Alot of bad Reviews.. I will not choose this place. Its a reason The Customers taking time out to write a review on this place. Customer Service is everything. This is ridiculous.
Total ripoff! Dont waste your money!I booked a mani-pedi party here for a bachelorette party for my best friends wedding. Because I work in the complex I was told I would receive at 20% discount on all services for me and my guests. At that cost the mani/pedis for each person would be $30 / person. I thought that sounded very reasonable, and booked the party. After arriving three of us immediately had our pedicures started, but it was not until after I had finished that they started THE BRIDES. They then rushed through hers (ours took half an hour or more and hers took maybe 5-10 minutes) so she could have her manicure finished at the same time as the rest of us. Both she and I wanted french manicures (and because I have never been to anywhere that charged more than $5 extra for french and it was not listed on the board) I just told them to do hers and mine french. When everything was finished I went to pay for her and myself, expecting around $70 ($30 for each mani pedi and $5 each for french), and was told my total was ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SEVEN DOLLARS! Then they gave me the 20% off, but it was still well over $100. I was APPALLED. The other girls manicures and pedicures were over $50 with the discount as well. I was flat out LIED to, not told they would charg eme an extra $30 / person to give a french manicure, and then forced to pay twice what I was quoted. DO NOT go to this place. Its a total ripoff.
Came in with two other people to get a pedicure for them to tell me they are booked up. We tried calling before we came and paid for parking which was a total waste.
Customer service needs a resolution for improvement.
They did not want to listen to our wants. Forced there opinion. Ended up with sub-par looking nails for a shop in buckhead. Charged 110 for manicure pedicure.
I was visiting from New Jersey for a girls weekend and we decided to visit this establishment. They accommodated all of us with no appointment and their customer service was top notch.
Had a pedi-party here. Embarrassed that I even suggested it. The pedicures lasted 15 minutes for $28. Save your money and go somewhere that will spend at least the same amount of time as you pay for the pedicure.
Terrible. Dont waste your time or money.
Excellent service
Overpriced
