This is the best auto shop in Atlanta. I had received a quote from another auto shop for what I thought was an oil leak. The fix was $1,500 π€― quote and the only way they checked it was with a flashlight. I asked Mark if he could check it out while I was out of town and he found that it was just a leaky cap that the same place who quoted me that, also changed my oil at and they didnβt tighten the cap on. So Mark fixed it, communicated everything with me and was SO easy to work with. Hands down a small town feel with a mechanic you can trust in Atlanta!!! Would go!!
Mark is the best mechanic in town. Hes upfront, honest, has fair pricing, and always does great work.
Mark Duncan is honest and skilled mechanic. I have nothing but high praise for his skill set, ethics and fair pricing. When other con artists and rip off schemers told me I needed an engine, I took it to Mark and he said let me see, because that doesnt sound correct. He checked it out and fixed it for a price so incredibly reasonable I thought he was joking. He can be difficult to reach by phone but thats because he stays so busy, but it is well worth your trip to drop your car off at his humble little garage. Because if its repairable you will be glad you placed your vehicle in the hands of skilled and honest man.
Great service and really good prices. Duncan got my 01 Celica fixed up in no time
Mark Duncan is the man. Cant speak enough to his honesty and to-the-point dealing. He gave me an estimate, fixed my car and charged me $20 less than what was the estimate. Hard to see such a behavior these days. And by the way, the estimate was 60% of what other major body shops were quoting. He also looks like he is is related to David Letterman and has an adorable personality. Keep on doing the great work, Mark. The world needs more people like you!
This place is great! Mark does quality work at an awesome hourly rate. All the work he has done has been very high quality. I have 2 gripes: 1. Mark is sometimes hard to get a hold of, as the only form of communication is the phone at the shop. 2. Mark does not wear gloves when he works, so in my experience he has sometimes left highly visible oily handprints on the exterior of my car. I doubt this happens often. You should take your car here.
Mark was able to see my car and fix it in the same day. Mark is very knowledgeable - he was able to diagnose the issues just by my verbal description even before seeing the car, and he ended up being right! He sets clear expectations and mostly importantly delivers on his words. Great prices and fast service. Highly recommended!
Mark is the best. I paid more than he asked for, because such a honest and humble man deserves to be treated with respect, especially nowadays when people crave for money and lose sight of the real value as a human being. Mark will always have my business as long as I am around Atlanta.
I do most of my own car repairs, but sometimes I dont have the full expertise or time. I trust only ONE fellow mechanic to get the job done. NOBODY touches any of my cars besides myself and Mark! Hes a one-man operation so dont bother calling ahead. Instead, go see him in person.
Honest, old school auto shop. Highly recommend.
My car broke down about a mile from Duncans shop and quickly gave him a call. He didnt answer at first so I left him a VM and he got back in about 20 mins. He was friendly and helpful throughout the phone call. He told me he could have it looked at in about 2 days and provided me with a local tow company. Less than 24 hrs later, Duncan called informing me that he had replaced the ignition key switch. I swing by to pick it up and he was friendly throughout the whole process. I told him another issue I was having with numerous and the steps I had taken to fix it and provided me with another part to swap. Since he knew, I did most of my own car work he helped show me where the part was and recommended doing it on my own to avoid labor costs. This really impressed me since I feel most shops are all about maximizing their profits. Duncan is great and I highly recommend him to everyone!
Mark Duncan is the bomb!! He has been taking care of me and my daughters vehicles since I can remember... he is honest!!!, fair and I really trust him to be straight with me... you cant go wrong with this mechanic! I could go on and on ... just a love!!
Mark is a genius. He is kind and helpful. He can fix almost everything with a low and fair price. You can save your money here. He replaced the thermostat and wheel nut for me. Thank you so much!
Amazing just amazing Mark Duncan is an all around stand up guy who does great work, very knowledgeable and charges very reasonable prices to match the size and difficulty of the job. I bought my car in this morning three hours later he was calling to tell me he fixed the problem and car was ready to be picked up. I RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR VEHICLE BRING IT TO DUNCAN AUTOMOTIVE!!!
These guys are awesome! Super kind and courteous. Really good prices and trustworthy.
Im going to echo all the previous reviews, Mark Duncan is awesome. Dont let the location or look of the garage fool you, the guy knows what he is doing. Ive had my car fixed here several times, his prices are always the cheapest and repairs are done in a timely manner. He doesnt have all the overhead costs of a larger auto shop so your bill will be reasonable and he gets good parts at a good price. All positives with him!
Very trustworthy and helpful. He made sure I was taken care of. I would recommend everyone to come here. This will be the only place I go to from now on
Price was exactly as quoted and the work was done well and quicker than expected. Very satisfied.
This guy is a really nice guy and was able to figure out what was wrong with my car pretty quickly and also gave me a good price. It appears that the owner of the shop does the majority of the work that comes through his shop. I definitely trust him and would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest mechanic .
Gave me a pretty good price (a lot cheaper than the Honda dealership), fixed some small things for free that they were charging hundreds of dollars for, didnt even charge me for not picking my car up quickly since I was out of town. Also he tells it straight - the dealership said they highly recommend switching the clutch spring, but Mark said that hes seen this a lot before and it probably wont be a problem. Honest, decent prices - cant say a single bad thing about taking my car there.
They were fair, friendly, and quick. Iβd refer and go back!!
Called twice bc my daughter was in Atlanta and had car problems, nobody answered so I left voicemail. Nobody ever called me back.
Mark is by far the most honest mechanic I have ever come across. As long as hes in business Ill never take my car to anyone else. He does great work and is always willing to help out. You wont be disappointed
Duncan Auto is great. Honest. Great work and fair prices!
Nice, honest mechanic. I went in for my front brakes and rotors he finished the job within a few hours at almost half the cost everyone else quoted me. Definitely recommend!
Please take your car to Mark. We need more people like this in business. He did some pretty major work on our Honda and by the end of it saved me $850 versus was the dealer quoted. Dropped the car off Tuesday at lunch and he said it would be done by Friday. Called Friday morning and it was ready like he said and only about 5% over on his estimate which is plenty reasonable for me. Thanks Mark, I will be back.
Mark is amazing! Honest, fast and does everything he can to get you the best deal! Thank you so much!
Mark is awesome. Honest shop, great work, extremely fair pricing, and in a timely manner. I just found my new auto shop in Atlanta.
Awesome mechanic. Very transparent and fair. Wait times to get vehicle fixed may be a bit long due to this being a small operation.
Amazing! You can always save a lot of money here. Mark is very experienced and always provide good service.
They are just the Best an Honest Mechanic!
They are very honest. Good quality and price. Been there a couple of times. Never disappointed.
This guy is ridiculously awesome. I have been ripped off from so many mechanics in my day who confuse themselves with brain surgeons or attorneys. Why should a car mechanic demand $120 an hour?? Marks labor rate is extremely fair. Plus when nothing is wrong with your car, he doesnt make something up just so he can make money. This is a SUPER SUPER ETHICAL establishment and I wont ever take my car anywhere else in Atlanta. Jared H.
I have been coming here for twenty plus years and have brought all of my cars here for work when needed. Mark will treat you right. All of his customers are by word of mouth he does no advertising and does not work weekends
Honest and friendly mechanic, everything you want is at this place.
From the outside it looks bleh- like it needs a facelift. Dont let that fool you! I went there one day to have them check my engine. They were very honest about the cost of repair. They looked in my car without any costly diagnostic fees and told me straight up that it would be better if I has saved money than pour it all out on this hopeless jalopy. Thank you Duncan!
Great prices and honest owner.
Mark in Duncan is the only mechanician I trusk in ATL! He is very experienced, efficient, and honest. The cost is fair!
Great mechanic, fast and straightforward. He also has fair prices, highly recommend.
Honest, nice work, fair pricing. Guy is a gem
Theyve done a great job rebuilding the engine for my vintage truck.
Mark is awesome. He is so professional with a great work ethic, he has a lot of integrity regarding his work, and he is honest. Let me tell you what he did for me and my mothers 2000 9.3 SaaB. He did some work on my moms car. After a few snafus, we discovered that this particular model SaaB required a certified SaaB DI Unit part that Mark did not have on hand or was he able to get without being a certified SaaB Mechanic. He didnt know at the time that the part he did use would not work so when I informed them of this issue, he refunded all of his charges so I could purchased a certified part through SJ Automotive. Who is a certified SaaB shop and is qualified to work on Saabs, and get Certified SaaB parts even though Saabs are not longer built. Back to Duncan, And Mark, he was so cool and was genuinely appreciative of the info I shared with him about that part and some foreign cars. In light of all his professionalism and warranties, I recommend going to Duncan Automotive if you want an honest mechanic. Two thumbs up. Period.
Ok. Let me add to the list of 5 star reviews for Mark. I went to firestone last week for a routine oil change and they suggested a bunch of things that amounted to more than 1000$. Among the crucial repairs was a suggestion to get my steering power hose replaced. Their estimated cost was 400$. After going through the reviews, I decided to get a second opinion at this place. Turns out most of the things that FS suggested were not needed and Mark replaced the power steering hose for 195$. My car is running quite well now. Thanks. I highly recommend this place.
Honest, helpful, and affordable.Best car shop in Atlanta.
Honest and friendly, everything you want in a good mechanic
A good manοΌgo there twice for some small problems of my carοΌbut he fix it for free.
I visited Duncan several times. Helpful, trustful, that is my conclusion.
I have used Mr. Duncan Jun.s services for nearly 20 years, the only mechanic I could fully entrust my cars. I did not mind driving from Decatur to his garage, 20 miles. Always friendly and available. Always making an effort to make time fixing my car. Always upbeat. I shouldnt say it but I even called him on weekends when I ran into a problem and he responded to my calls. His service charges are very fair. A fine human being, rarely to find...
Goodddd
