I was extremely pleased with the setup process. Skyrunner was able to schedule my installation almost immediately and were quite flexible about the precise time that installation would take place. All of the customer service people with whom I spoke were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The technician who installed our system, Easton (sp?) couldnt have been more professional or helpful. He was able to set up the system quickly and in a way that met my needs. The cost of setup and components such as the router was not low; however, I expect that the actual cost of service over the next year will more than make up for the cost of installation. And if the technical support and customer service continues to be as good as it has so far, I will be very happy.

We are new Skyrunner, but can say that every interaction with the team has been excellent. Our installer, Easton, was fantastic. Easton was a true professional, prompt, knowledgeable, patient and thorough to answer any questions we had, and did a masterful job setting up the pole/receiver, running the cable and hooking up the system.

They have such great customer service. Shout out to Kate and Patrick and Simon. Basically, everyone I spoke with at the company was amazing and tried to help as much as they possible could.

We were originally serviced by Ridgecomms which was based in Madison County and our internet was exceptionally stable and reliable for several years. Unfortunately, when Skyrunner bought them out that all changed. Internet outages are frequent. Several times a week service will go down. Many times when we call to report an outage we cant get through because the phones are down at Skyrunner (maybe they use their own internet for their phone? Not sure). Disappointing. Hope they improve.

This company has set the bar for Customer Service out of this world. From the scheduling team to the repairman they were courteous, timely, respectful, and extremely professional. SkyRunner Internet should start a Customer Service Training program to teach other companies what the Gold Standard for Customer Service looks like.

I run a B&B that is totally dependent on good internet for guest bookings, emails and guests streaming on their devices. The speed and reliability of our system is amazing. Our system went offline after a neighborhood power outage. With one phone call, the folks at the main office sent field tech Easton out the same day. He analyzed our issues, got our service restored and also recommended moving our radio receiver because new tree growth was obscuring the signal. Today, Easton and another team member completed moving the receiver. Our signal strength and internet speed is fantastic. Cant say enough about great customer service, quick response and technical assistance provided by Skyrunner. Thanks, yall.

Life changing compared to previous internet providers.

I wish I could have gotten internet with these people. The customer service lady I talked to was very professional and knew all questions I had to ask. Unfortunately the area I needed it was blocked by trees that she was able to see from maps and a program they had to show the signal. Just call they can help you find out if it will work for you.

Repair guys arrived first thing the very next morning & had our internet up & going just after noon. Not only are they responsive & professional, but they are just darn good people as well. After many years of slow DSL I can finally say that we have FAST internet from Skyrunner! We have had Skyrunner for 6 months now and it has been a life changer! We live in a very remote area close to Bat Cave, NC on top of a mountain. There is no copper infrastructure in our area so our only option for internet was satellite, very slow with data caps and expensive, or Verizon, good service but way to expensive, and then Skyrunner put up a tower that could reach our location. YES! They are wonderful to deal with and you actually get to talk with a person that lives in our area who is concerned with the way you are treated. The installer arrived on time as scheduled, not on Monday between 9 AM and 5 PM, and he took his time to make sure that their equipment was installed in the best location on our property. The service is great! My family is all doing work and school remotely due to the virus thing and all of us can be on video calls at the same time with no bandwidth issues. We were pretty much at the end of our rope with internet access and not sure what the plan was going to be until we switched to Skyrunner. I highly recommend them if you live in a remote area.

Excellent customer service and great work ethic! Seth was so helpful when installing the devices and stayed to make sure everything worked. He worked hard to find the perfect place for the small dish outside and adjusted it to give us the best signal. The connection is quick and devices are straightforward and stylish. Other internet providers in our area have been difficult to contact and work with but Skyrunner has been great so far!

We struggled for many years trying to get decent internet service in the SC mountains. Happily, I made contact with Don Davis in 2014, who has worked diligently with us ever since to give us great service. He and his team have been very responsive to any problems we have had and have given us good advice and excellent assistance. We recommend them highly!

We have used their services for years. We came into town and had internet issues and we tried for an hour to trouble shoot on the phone. He was very nice, patient and helpful. Once we realized it could not be fixed via a phone call, they immediately dispatched someone. It was a little rainy, but Max came on time, was courteous and very helpful. After and hour or two of re-rigging some wet wires and fixing a bad line underground, we were set. Max was great and helpful.

Local provider is the way to go! Waiting period for Charter or ATT was not going to work so I contacted Skyrunner on Friday and they had my Internet set up on Monday. I am so impressed! Great quality internet as well.

Update: We just had our first on-site service call after two happy years of using Skyrunner. Seth quickly discovered the cause of the problem, which was that the cable was cut in at least two places by a contractors landscaping equipment. He easily explained the alternatives for making the repair, and helped me choose the wisest option. He replaced the cable and routed it via a safer path to the antenna, which should reduce the chance of it ever happening again. Like everyone I have worked with at Skyrunner, Seth was great to work with as well as being knowledgeable and efficient.From September, 2018: I just moved to the area, and I was delighted that a neighbor tipped me off to Skyrunner! Zach did a spectacular job of finding just the right antenna location, and Kate helped me get just the right data plan. They were both wonderful to work with. I always get more bandwidth than promised, and I appreciate the gracious way they handle overages.

I can not say enough about my install crew of Seth & Mathew. They were not only polite, knowledgeable & professional but it was obvious from the beginning they were genuinely looking out for my best interest. I now have fast high speed internet at a home I was told had no options. I would strongly recommend Skyrunner for those problematic locations.

I live in a rural area of Madison County, NC. Prior to getting setup with Sky Runner, we were stuck with fake 4g unlimited plans that had awful latency and bandwidth. We had to hire a tree guy to climb about 70-80 feet up a tree to install the transceiver. Amazingly, we have fiber quality internet with extremely low latency, even during storms. We could easily run VOIP without any problems. The speed and reliability is excellent, especially considering we do a lot of streaming, working from home, and have multiple Nest cameras which are bandwidth hogs. I am very pleased with the service and highly recommend them.

Awesome internet! They go above and beyond to get you hooked up. Literally! What other internet company would climb a tree to get you service? We were out of options (except for satellite) and they got us connected to the world again. We have the 10mbs plan and I honestly cant tell that much difference in speed compared to our last residence where we had around 65mbs. The installer was great and really made sure everything was setup like we wanted and legit.We had to wait awhile to get setup, but we all agree it was worth the wait!

Hands down, the best internet service provider I have ever had! I live in the countryside (in Alexander) where not even Verizon nor AT&T has been able to provide reliable service. Thankfully, an AT&T tech referred me over to Skyrunner Internet.Not only does Skyrunner provide great internet service, they are surprisingly very professional, friendly, polite, efficient, and quick with their installation work and customer support. I’ve had to call some times over the year when things lagged. They pick up the call quickly, hear my concerns, do something on their end, and somehow have the slow/dead internet fixed right away. This is unheard of from any of the other big internet service providers. I’m so impressed because Skyrunner was a small and unknown company at the time I signed up with them (September 2019, I believe). They totally beat the other big names out there. I highly recommend them!They’re also way less expensive and give better service... I love a good deal. You can pay your bills on AutoPay, too, which is convenient. Thanks, guys!The whole family is able to play FortNite together no problem and watch Netflix movies. We also do tons of Facebook live-streams without issues.Edit: Changed to 4 stars now because the internet has been spotty and unreliable. :(

Update: Skyrunner got back to me and am working on a solution to get me up and running!I really want to work with Skyrunner, but I seem to be getting the run around. Called on June 26 to schedule a site survey, didnt get a call back until July 12th and the tech was supposed to check on July 15. When I paid on the 16th for the invoice, I was told I would be hearing from someone soon. Still no word on anything as of July 23 and no one has responded to my emails.

Cable isn’t an option where I live, I had Hughes net and that’s what everyone in my neighborhood had, gave these guys a call and they were out quickly and were able to hook me up. The internet is more reliable than any cable I’ve ever had. Consistent speeds no matter the time of day and no data caps. I was very skeptical but am very impressed.

Ive used Skyrunners internet service for years. In the first few weeks of the Covid 19 shutdown, we started having problems with our streaming services on both TVs. Skyrunners technician, guiding me by phone, determined within 30 minutes that the problem was not with their service. But he continued to work with me, eliminating possible problems one-by-one. Finally, after nearly 2 hours, we isolated and then fixed the problem--which was NOT a Skyrunner problem.In a time when its such a challenge to get good service from technology providers, Skyrunner went above and beyond. I will be forever grateful and loyal to Skyrunner.

While other large telcos can take minimum of three months to install a fiber connection, Skyrunner was out there with a full setup and nearly same speeds in less than a week. They have been great to work with and I highly recommend them. The Skyrunner connection was able to support around 60 computer users with no issues which is important when time is literally money. I have Skyrunner Internet at my house and we live outside of city limits! We never thought we would have good internet service living where we do but thanks to Skyrunner we not only have internet but we have high speed and its super fast! They are amazing people to work with also, anytime we have ever had any issues they immediately jump on it and dont let up until the issue is resolved and were happy! Their customer service is great! We had AT&T U Verse when we lived in the city and this is waaay faster and better! If u want great service and u can get Skyrunner where u live I would suggest them over anyone else! Thanks.

My Wife and I have lived at the bitter end of a DSL line in Swannanoa for 19 years. We had no other options as the cable companys dont want to spend the time or money to connect us up on the mountain. Our upload speed was 1.6 and if you ever canceled you could never get a line back again. When property sold if the DSL didnt transfer it was lost to the new owner. We could only run one devise at a time. To run our cameras to our smart phones would never work and we need them to see what the weather is doing at the house due to our elevation, there was nothing called watching netflix without buffering.We now have high speed internet thanks to Skyrunner. Last night we were like kids playing, watched TV in 2 rooms. listen to music and worked on out laptops all at the same time. To upload these pictures in the past would have taken 10 Minutes or more, now less than 5 seconds.I was so impressed I called in with our financial information to pay our account automatically before our ticket had not even been closed out after installation.Thank you Skyrunner we are now in the 21st century !!! and can never say enough good about everything we have experienced with you.

Update, several months in. I very rarely get the speed I pay for, not even close. Downgraded from 5 stars quickly on their way to 1. This is the most expensive internet I have had in my life, and I have expectations about speed and reliability, well forget about it. They cant use the weather excuse either. My internet breaks on sunny days with no wind. I have not changed a single thing with my setup. I wish there were more options here - this is not a long-term option for me as I work from home and have had enough. See attached photo, this is typical, I pay $135 per month for 25M down and 5M up, rarely ever get close.Original review (guess they dial you back after a couple months):Get Skyrunner! From my first call, during which I had countless questions - Seth quickly answered all of them, clearly and accurately. Having experience with satellite internet - which was horrible by the way - my expectations were very low. Then Alex shows up, on time - high energy dude, to do the install - again, all expectations exceeded - the install was world class, his knowledge, communication, quality install, fantastic! Best experience with any, ANY company I have had in years. FWIW, internet access is rock solid and exceeds stated parameters! NEVER get satellite internet, it is horrible! EDIT: I moved to NC from OH a week ago, in a cabin way off the grid.

This is the Internet Provider you want if you can get it.I have been a customer for eight years. During that period, I have received a quality of service that exceeds every other internet provider I have ever worked with. When outages occur (Fairview Internet Access Point has lost power...) we get an automated phone call telling us what has happened, estimated time for resolution, and what they are doing about it. I do not believe that anyone could possibly do a better job of providing this service than they do.I have several neighbors with other providers, and it is clear that Skyrunner provides far superior service at a much more affordable price.Yes, we are all sharing bandwidth, and, when everyone in the world is streaming sometimes it slows a bit; however, there is no other provider that can come close to the quality, professionalism, responsiveness, and affordable cost.I am paying for 6MB down and 2MB up and am thrilled with the service. 99% of the time I get that throughput or more.

A courteous and helpful human always answers the phone when you call. Theyre very responsive to any issues. Their rates are reasonable. A head above all the other ISPs Ive used.

Skyrunner is a life saver! Im in an area that only gets Frontier at up to 3 Mbps. (ave 1.5 on a good day)Max was outstanding with the install! He was able to climb up a tree about 45 in my yard and mount the dish, run the cable down my hillside, through my crawlspace and into my home where I wanted it. He was also very pleasant and helpful with all my questions.Another local company that offers same type of service would not do the tree climb, extra kudos to Max for offering that service.I ordered the 6 mbps unlimited plan and am averaging 8 mbps DL, 2.5 Mbps UL with a ping speed of 5 ms. Im able to stream everything without any issues or buffering. They also dont throttle your speeds when you hit a specific gigabit limit with the unlimited plan.Its a great service.If I had any complaint, it would be the price, its a bit steep compared to Spectrum but well worth it when you are in an area that has no internet. They have minimal sharing of bandwidth, so youre not battling for it like you are with Spectrum and 1,000 neighbors.I highly recommend Skyrunner and Max as an installer.

In 20 years, I have never dealt with Internet service as consistently unreliable as Skyrunner,. It goes down intermittently with such consistency that I rarely even bother to call and report it, because even if I do, the answer is always We are experiencing an outage... Really? No kidding? I wonder if I could get dial up access for backup.

Top notch local business! These guys respond to problems fast and effectively. If you want to know what you are missing when you sign up with huge corporate service providers, try these guys out. And when I say fast, these guys respond as quick as their internet speeds - all of the times I have inquired about a slow down in service, they have responded within an hour or so with a solution. And when I say a slow down in service, I mean a drop from significantly above average to where I was before a said farewell to Charter...

We are very happy with our Skyrunner internet service! Before we did not have very good internet options living in a rural area. Now we have great fast reliable internet. Max did a superb job with the installation and was extremely helpful answering questions. He really went above and beyond with the installation as it was challenging in the attic. Max really has a great attitude!!

We use Skyrunner at work and get amazingly fast upload and download speeds of around 80+ on both. Weve had users keep their offices within our company just so they can use the internet speeds. I love the staff at Skyrunner. They are always willing to go the extra mile (not that its needed) and are incrediby knowledgeable.

After having AT&T Fast DSL for 6 years It started dropping out for no reason. The service tech couldnt get it right so I switched to SkyRunner. I now get twice the speed at about the same cost. They guarantee a minimum speed rather than an up to speed. Love the service, love that it is locally owned. I would recommend.

Ive been with Skyrunner for less than a year, but for many other years Ive had to deal with DSL. This isnt like your typical wireless data plan with cell phone companies, Ive been able to achieve broadband speeds without moving to a coax serviceable area! No matter the weather or even a power outage(power supplied by me of course), I always have a reliable connection. Their customer service is very polite, knowledgeable, and patient when it comes to helping their customers.Even if my home was in a rather odd spot, their technician was able to mount a receiver to a pole I had placed on a hill and route the wiring above around and directly into my home. In fact just recently I was able upgrade from my current plan to faster speeds after I learned my area is capable of 20 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.I dont see myself switching to a different provider for quite awhile.

Absolutely the *BEST*, most awesome customer service and tech support of ANY tech company Ive EVER dealt with, including not only internet, but wireless cell, television, etc. REAL human beings, with intelligence and compassion. My only complaint is the limitations on GB service, which isnt an issue for everyone, but is for us.

SkyRunner is everything AT&T is not: customer focused, small dedicated team of employees, flexible, and deliver a great service at a good price. Skyrunner has been a great ISP. Simon helped me out after a service interruption. We were back up and running and was thankful to get it resolved so easily. Max is amazing!!!

Hi Asheville. We have the Metro Commuter package with a clear path to downtown. Our tenant and us are able to stream with no outages and no overages. We dont have cable so it works out to about $65 a month each for internet and subscription services. For us this is a good deal. My experience when living at another location with multiple users is that multiple streaming signals dont work well with other packages. So dont purchase a package hoping that you and others can squeeze out more bandwidth because you will be disappointed. I know this could sound like an up-sell but I am just trying to encourage people to purchase the best package for their needs while supporting a local business. The personalized tech service is also nice.

The service is just okay at Skyrunner. It is nice that they provide Internet to rural sections of North Carolina where there are no other options but the service just isnt that great. There are several issues with the current state of Skyrunning which, I beleive, is due to a lack of competition with a majority of their market (rural NC). They are, however, nice people who are always very friendly and pleasant on the phone. They are also very accessible via their support number. The issues I have with Skyrunner are as follows:1) There is a lot of downtime. This used to not be the case. I have been a customer for 5+ years and when I first started with them it was rock solid. I probably had 2+ years before I ever had an issue. When issues did occur they were few and far between. This is not the case anymore. There has been so many issues so far this year (2018) that I have lost count. I work from home so I am probably more sensitive to this but the downtime is unacceptably high.2) They perform maintenance during the day (which only contributes to the downtime). I have never heard of maintenance being performed in the middle of the day until I became a customer of Skyrunner. Every other network operations center performs maintenance during off-hours.3) It is expensive...Very expensive compared to what most people pay for Internet. Furthermore, they are very quick to charge you if you go over on your allotment but never credit you when they are down for extended periods.As stated earlier, I think that if there was actually competition in the area then most of these issues would be resolved immediately. But without adequate market pressure we get overpriced mediocre service.

Was having trouble with my modem and skyrunner sent Max the miracle worker to my house the same day. Max was kind enough to come at 9pm after a long day and that kind of customer service is rare these days especially in the mountains where folks think they are doing you a favor to do the job. Max was professional, courteous, prompt and efficient. He is to be commended for that kind of a positive attitude after a 14hr day. Would highly recommend skyrunner and miracle Max (no relation to the character from princess bride) is the shizzle. Righteous stuff!

First of all you have to stick with a LIMITED PLAN, so it prevents you from basically downloading any large files for work and gaming. Also it is like a turtle compared to verizon and at&t. I tried downloading something that was 17 GB last night and it didnt even finish when i woke up at 7. So that means that this internet will take more than 7 hours to download a 17 GB file, when other companies can do it in much less time. This is a horrible service provider. My only advise for it is to increase the download/upload speed and make an unlimited data plan so that people dont have to worry about going over the data limit and having to spend extra money.

Great staff, the installer zach did everything he could to make it work and he got it. The signal is great throughout my house and we dont have any problems.

Im a field technician for them and the service as well as there internet is very competitive Ive had lots of customers come up to me and say skyrunner was a blessing as they would have had no other alternative to internet. Service is excellent as they are very responsive and knowledgeable. If I had to pick between hughes net, exceed or skyrunner hands down Id pick skyrunner time and time again.

I found out about Skyrunner while looking for alternatives to Charter. I heard great things and took the leap- so glad we did. Its amazing to call Skyrunner and to be put on the phone with someone who actually works here in Asheville and isnt reading from a script. Wonderful professional people and excellent service.

We were SO impressed with Skyrunner and SO grateful to have their service in our area!We just bought a beautiful new home in Hendersonville, but no local internet services would provide internet to the home (we live way up on a mountain). We were shocked and dismayed by the cost of satellite internet and even Verizon home WiFi was a complete waste of money and horribly slow. We werent sure if we could get a signal for Skyrunner, but I am so glad that we tried.They were able to obtain a great signal on the very top of the roof. Our service is reliable and SUPER fast. It is also very affordable--were paying half of what we paid for Verizon and getting much better quality of internet. We are able to watch online TV and movies, play PlayStation online games, and download stuff very quickly. We are SO happy with the service itself.The technicians were great and worked with our challenging schedules. I even forgot that we had an installation appointment and went to work that day; the technician showed up while we were gone and was willing to walk the property and find the best signal. He even climbed up the roof to check..so glad he did! Florian did a great job and was very thorough; we really appreciate his efforts!We will continue to recommend Skyrunner to everyone we know. The price is great and the quality is excellent. Were so glad we found them. Thanks guys!

Had them come out and install at my place on the east side of Lake Lure. Connected up with the Chimney Rock transmitter, works great. Can stream and use numerous devices here since Northland Cable doesnt have internet service and AT&T ceased adding new DSL customers here years ago.

Im in the River Arts District, and SkyRunner is by FAR the best option. Excellent service - when you call you talk to a human being, and the speed is everything Id hoped and more. If youre disappointed because Charter cant or wont get to you, or AT&T gets to you but not in a good way, SkyRunner is hands-down the way to go. And theyre right here in WNC!

UPDATE - A year ago we tried to get Skyrunner and after a few hours of getting everything hooked up they discovered the tower was at capacity. Very disappointing. We really needed internet and ultimately moved to get cable internet. We then decided to rent out the home and decided to try again with Skyrunner. With a suggestion to take down some trees (also enhanced the view) we were successful in our installation and will not be able to provided internet to our rental guests. Thank you skyrunner for providing a solution and input to get us internet.
