Here is the truth about Dr. White! Notice his staff turnover rate. Very high. Why you may ask? He treats his staff like animals. Yells at them in front of patients. He degrades his staff on a regular basis. I was a patient, one time, for a cleaning and to set up future appointments. My wife was the Hygienist working there. At the time he seemed like a good man and even offered to cover the cost of the work I needed because I am a retired Navy Veteran. Pretty Awesome right? I did not go back because of what my wife and the rest of his staff were saying about him and how he treated them. Dr. White has a male chauvinistic attitude towards the woman that work for him. Ask any of the prior staff. Both my wife and I were in charge of dental clinics in the Navy and know how to lead, train and treat staff. If you are looking for a wholesome practice with family values......look elsewhere.

Every single person in this office has treated me with complete kindness, understanding, and professionalism. With each visit, any anxiety I’ve had lessens. It’s safe to say that most people don’t look forward to having any dental procedure. However, I do think you will look forward to the experience of being treated so well from the front desk to the chair. Dr. White not only explains things very well, but he has a very efficient and gentle way. And this goes for everyone in the office. I could go on and on and praise every individual staff member very easily. But just know that I cannot imagine having better satisfaction with a dental practice. Everyone needs a dentist, doctor, and someone to cut their hair, so you might as well find people who make you feel like a welcome friend to do these things. So, unless you are a mean and grouchy person, give them a call and start feeling good about your dental visits.

My husband had an appointment as a new patient today, June 23, 2021 to have his teeth cleaned. I waited in the lobby. As time passed I needed to use the restroom and asked permission of the receptionist. After using their facility I returned to the waiting room. Momentarily, my husband entered the waiting area being followed by Dr. White YELLING at him to Get out of my office! Stunned I asked, What is going on? I was ignored as Dr. White continued YELLING, Get out and dont come back, youre a jackass. Dr. White then went back through the doorway and continued yelling through the open area from where the receptionists sits and starts loudly mumbling insults. Dr. White then yells to my husband, If you dont leave right now I am going to call the police! I said, Hold your horses, we are leaving. He keeps saying, They are such rude people. I have said almost nothing Dr. White now I am included in his insults. I told him I was trying to cancel an appointment I had previously made with his receptionist only to hear him reply, Get out and never come back.I have NEVER observed such behavior in a doctors waiting room? This was the most unprofessional behavior I have ever witnessed and clearly showed me this is a very unstable, disturbed individual. I certainly would never recommend anyone establish a professional relationship with someone who displays such poor people skills, lack of professionalism, and in need of anger management therapy.

Dr. John White did not listen to me as a patient, my pain was disregarded and the treatment plan was inappropriate. I had to go to a different dentist that didnt try pushing a crown into my treatment unnecessarily and recognized pain from a cavity Dr White missed.

I had an appt with Dr. White as a new patient on July 7, 2021. I arrived 10 minutes early and Rachel, the receptionist gave me the paperwork to complete. One of the forms was called Conditions of Treatment which includes information on payment for services, fee estimates, etc, and a section that includes 4 paragraphs, one of which states:I understand that x-rays, study models, and photographs may be used by this practice, without use of my name, for the purposes of patient education, advertising or any other lawful purpose and I release and forever discharge Dr. John White from any claim, demands, or liability on account of such use or the quality of the reproduction of the materials provided.I did not check this box because I do not want photographs, x-rays, or other study models of me to be used for advertising, patient education, or any other lawful purposes whatever that is.Rachel said that I was required to check off this box as this was a legal document or Dr. White would not see me. She then spent about 5 minutes trying to convince me that I wasnt giving up my rights to privacy when in fact, the statement above says I would. She went back to see Dr. White and returned saying I had to check off the box if I wanted to be seen as a new patient. I declined and said that I expect my privacy respected when I see a dentist or doctor. So, I left.In response to Dr. White:1. Patient education is only 1 of 3 examples on your form, the other 2 being advertising and other lawful purposes.2. Youre right, lets be clear here...I wasnt asked...I was told that I was REQUIRED to sign the Conditions of Treatment form. May I remind you, the written words are yours and I was refused my new patient appt because I would not agree to that condition on ONE FORM (not FORMS). I find that very telling.3. Stop trying to divert the conversation by bringing up other issues (asking verbal permission, writing about my other reviews (2 5-star, 1-4 star, 2 3-star, and 1 1-star, that you never met me (because you refused to honor the appointment when I wouldnt sign the release, etc). Address the point of this review: You require patients to sign a release allowing you to use their personal dental information or YOU WONT SEE THEM.4. I stand by every single word in my review as the truth. Contrary to your statement, the review is very relevant. Ive never been to a dentist or doctor that REQUIRED me to sign away my right for my photos, x-rays, etc.to be used for advertising. Not using my name but using my photos, x-rays, and study models for advertising, other lawful purposes and patient education is not acceptable. I prefer my medical information kept between doctor and patient.I made an appointment with you because of other reviews, most of which praise your practice, and at the recommendation of one of your patients. Had I read a review that told me I would be required to sign that specific form to be a patient, I never would have made an appointment. Again, I assumed patient/doctor confidentiality would never be an issue. I did not expect you to refuse to see me as a new patient because I would not sign a release for you to use my information in other ways. So, yes, reviews that write about office practices are very relevant.The question for Dr White is this: Why wont he see new patients who want patient records to stay between patient and doctor?

I have had the same dentist my entire life and he finally retired. I had an implant screw come loose and my tooth was wiggling back and forth. I was skeptical of Dr. White at first given no one else has ever worked in my mouth, but I was definitely proven wrong. He explained step by step what he was doing and about half way in I let my guard down and relaxed. My implant is finally back to normal after months of putting it off out of fear because I no longer had the same dentist. Very happy I found this practice!

I had been to the same dentist for 25 years, and sadly, had to find a new one. This office had great reviews and due to all the comments I read about them catering to anxiety ridden patients, I thought it to be perfect for me. I was not wrong! The receptionist was a sweetheart from the 1st email to the scheduling of appts. She is kind, beautiful and seems to be such a warm person. I had some issues with my ins info and it didnt phase her a bit.. she was just as patient as she could be.The dental assistant I was blessed to have was nothing short of exactly what my anxiety needed. She was patient, laughed at my silly comments, calmed my nerves, was gentle and such a beautiful person as well. She talked to me and tried to calm me by carrying on a conversation, as opposed to making me sit and wait. She was so sweet- exactly the type of person you hope to get at an appointment!The dentist was also very professional, explained everything to me, made sure I understood what he was talking about and spoke to me like I was an actual person- not just a patient to bill. One thing I loved- you know how the rooms are open at one end and anyone sitting on either side can hear your conversation? Well with Dr. White, he spoke quietly when we were discussing my dental health. (He showed me respect in a way that he may not have even realized!) He was gentle, kind, soft spoken and made my nerves disappear. Having social anxiety to the degree in which I do, makes it almost unbearable to go places without someone with me, but this is one of the placesI am glad to go!. Thank you!

Dr White is a brilliant man who maintains cutting edge knowledge of his field. Still, he is very caring, with a warm sense of humor. The same is reflected by the entire staff... the highest standards of practice in the most comforting environment.

This man is not a dentist, he is some sort of Tooth Wizard. I had a broken infected wisdom tooth extraction and a broken bicuspid root canal and both of these were the most pleasant dental work ive ever had done. I dont know how he did it.The dental assistants and other staff are also very pleasant and will make you feel comfortable.Stop reading reviews and book an appointment already.

Im 65 and a new patient having moved to Asheville recently. This is one of the very best dental experiences I have ever had. Photos of inside your mouth are taken. These were shared with me when my treatment options were discussed. I was given all the time I needed to ask questions. I also was very impressed with Chrisie, the dental hygienist.A gentle and very thorough cleaning even with bridges.

I cannot express just how much I love this practice! I have had extreme dental anxiety for years, I was referred to Dr White and I am forever grateful! His staff is wonderful always going above and beyond what is required! I am so pleased with my smile already and I am still in the process of correcting years of damage resulting directly from my anxiety. Dr. White and his staff have made this possible for me! From the first phone call to the office the receptionist Diane was a wonderful help and followed up with information on my insurance and had an answer to every question I asked! At the office I had a wonderful experience again with Diane and then was greeted and set up by Elaine who was warm and friendly! Then Dr. White came in and explained everything to me and was patient with any questions I had and very reassuring. I definitely am glad I made the choice of going to Dr. Whites office for my dental work! They do a wonderful job!

I was a patient for over 6 years and referred others to this practice. I always paid in full every time. As my child and family have had many unexpected medical expenses this year I told the staff that I did not want the extra xrays that were not necessary for my dental treatment. I was assured MANY times that I would not have to pay and insurance would cover them in full. I received the bill in the mail. I called the office on three occasions asking to talk to Dr. White about this. I was frustrated by being mislead when I tried to be very upfront about my financial abilities at this time. Never once did he return my call and I always got the brush off from the receptionist. I will be changing dentists.

I am overly impressed with this place. From the initial call to get an appointment to the visit itself was awesome. The staff is so very polite and helpful especially the receptionist. They go above and beyond to make sure your visit is pleasurable. I have been to many dentist offices in the past and this is by far the best. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.

Rachel, the receptionist, is incredibly friendly and helpful. She makes the whole experience much more pleasant. She goes above and beyond and clears up insurance questions quickly. The dentists are professional and efficient.

I cant say enough good things about Dr. Whites office. His staff has been extremely accommodating, professional and kind to me. I have extreme dental anxiety and they were wonderful at setting my mind at ease. After years of neglecting my teeth, I finally feel like I am going to get my smile healthy again. The staff as well as Dr. White are all very gentle, calming, and professional. The office is very clean and comfortable. I am very pleased I have found such a great team to help me with my dental needs.

I just had a filling done and it went so well! Im not good with injections but Dr. White uses a topical numbing swab and a buzzing fork that completely distracts from the process of numbing. He is efficient and informative as the procedure happens. I feel like Im in good hands that I finally start to relax a bit...not my standard at a dentist office. The next day Im completely normal without any pain or swelling and the bite is excellent!

I have always been very satisfied with the fine work of Dr. White. He and his staff are some of the most caring Ive ever encountered. Hes always very careful to explain to you exactly what he plans to do, and what to expect. I am in my late 60s.I went to Dr. White after years of neglecting my teeth. It was too late to save them. I was extremely terrified of dentist. He assured me he would sedate me and take them out and I would not know. He was right, I dont remember anything. He gave me medicine for pain afterward, but I didnt need it after the first 3 days. He has been very caring and professional in helping me get use to the dentures and adjusting them. I like his matter of fact, down to earth approach. He has answered all my questions and is never too busy, But I know he is. Where were you 30 years ago, I might still have me real teeth ? I have had many dentists in my lifetime, and many dental issues including surgeries. I have been going to Dr. White for about 7 years, and I honestly will never go to another dentist again. His bedside manner is professional, impeccable, kind and gentle. He is detailed about mouth and teeth health to a fault. I had to have my 2 front teeth remade, they are caps, and they look fantastic. John White has no business taking care of any type of patient if he cant have a decent bedside manner. While I was getting my wisdom teeth removed, I felt unbelievable pain and tried to alert the dentist through the device that held my mouth open. I moaned many times trying to get him to stop and finally ended up crying it hurt so bad. At that time he stopped and said I had no business crying and if I could not get it together then I would have to leave!! The thing is, if he would of just listened to me when I first said it hurt and then stopped and taken the proper measures to minimize the pain, then I would not of cried in the first place. If you are looking for a kind and gentle dentist, do NOT go to John White! I have never been so upset about the way I has treated by this dentist. No patient crying or not should have to sit there and put up with his rude and condescending comments.
