The Chateau was awesome for our group of 4 couples! We enjoyed the outdoor patio every night with a fire in beautiful stone fireplace! The grounds are wonderful, you are living in a beautiful house with a wildlife preserve and beautiful garden surrounding you. The house is well stocked with all of the amenities we needed. Although secluded, we were only a short drive to downtown Asheville, activities, stores and restaurants.All of the staff at AVL were very helpful, friendly and responded promptly to any question or need we had. We highly recommend staying at the Chateau! Thanks to the owners for sharing with us.

We had a perfectly wonderful week at The Chateau. It was fabulous in every way! Our most favorite spot was on the covered porch area, especially on a mountain shower afternoon. Our young grandchildren were particularly happy playing in the creek and exploring the land around the home. It was truly a perfect house for our time in Asheville. We highly recommend it!!

We booked The Chateau through Asheville Luxury Vacation Rentals and could not have been happier with our month-long stay. The home was stunning, well-appointed and decorated, and on a beautifully private piece of land. You would never guess this is a rental! We loved eating outdoors, using the fire pit, watching the wildlife (including a bear family!), and cooking in the fantastic kitchen. Highly recommend this home and rental company. We will be back!

Beautiful home with attention to every imaginable detail. We were delighted when arriving to see the snack/candy display stocked with our favorites! The beds were super comfy with quality linens and towels. The outdoor retreat was our favorite family gathering place. The waterfall and perfect weather made this a fan favorite. We kept an eye out for a bear sighting but didnt get that opportunity! Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

We have now enjoyed 2 amazing stays at The Barn. Everything about the property is first class. The company is amazing as well. They are so nice to work with and attentive to everything. When traveling to Asheville we will always stay at their properties. Outstanding property and outstanding house! VERY clean, beautifully furnished, and the perfect house for our family vacation. The grandkids loved exploring the six acres with the stream and pond and we all loved the outside living area with the fireplace and the seating for relaxing and dining. The Barn at Fox HollowSpacious luxurious home. Great layout. Bedroom suites are well appointed. Many different gathering areas including screened outdoor pavilion with fireplace, large screen tv, comfy couches, blankets & area heaters. Gourmet kitchen with every amenity you could possibly need. House was tastefully decorated for Easter. Perfect in every way! Didn’t want to leaves and will definitely return!

This home was spectacular! The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want. The views from the deck were breathtaking. Our adult children were in awe of this exceptional home. We would highly recommend this as a wonderful vacation spot. It was close to downtown Ashville, the Biltmore and much more. We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at Out of the Blue. It was a perfect spot for 5 women artists to get away. This spectacular home represents the best of Asheville, offering gorgeous views of nature from every window and beautiful, modern, yet cozy and comfortable decor. The yoga space was used every morning. The crowning touch of this home is the huge, treehouse deck. We will be back!

My family and i just returned from spending one week at “the chateau “. The photos do not do it enough credit. From driving up the long driveway to the house, we knew we were in for something special. The house is beyond what we expected. The rooms are very large and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is wonderful and I loved the huge gas stove and appliances. There is lots of natural light coming into the home, with many windows and doors. We spent a lot of time in the sun room, talking or just being on our iPads. We also loved being on the huge outside porch in the back, making s’mores one night in the great big fireplace. The kids loved exploring outside, as did the adults. The grounds are gorgeous . Thank you for allowing us into this beautiful home.

Phenomenal home, we rented a barn that had been renovated and it was awesome! Beautiful, inside and out, great outdoor spaces and decorated so uniquely... everything we could need was included and we all want to return soon!

Bittersweet home rental in Asheville NC was a true treasure to find. The home far exceeded my expectations. Every room was uniquely and beautifully decorated. Just breath taking. A Christmas tree and decorations were added for the holidays. The bedding and linen were top quality, rendering a wonderful night sleep. Snacks, coffee and tea supplies were provided which was a welcoming touch after a long drive. Each living space had a large TV as well as the outdoor, covered area.The backyard also included a semi-inclosed dining table.. Just beautiful.I have never stayed in such a lovely home. I would highly recommend Bittersweet and my family looks forward to returning.

I am eloping with my close family to Asheville, NC and we have been looking for a place for our families to stay during our time there. We were inquiring on two rentals, as we need two separate houses for bedroom space. The emails from AVLVR were very unkind and impolite. The fact that I mentioned we are ‘eloping’, regardless that we won’t be hosting an event of any kind at either of the houses, they told us that they have to pass. That’s two rentals, $2,000 per night, two great families that they missed out of a sale on. If you’d like to read the correspondence, read below :) I was planning on writing a review and when I came here I was happy to see I’m not the only one. Very poor customer service and etiquette.After my first inquiry, they emailed me stating “The Retreat is only available for rental June and July each year.While we don’t have any information as to your specific plans for your elopement, our clients do not allow events, gathering, parties of any type or size to be held at their home, or for the number of occupants in the home to exceed the number of guests represented in the rental agreement, and as stated in the listing.”Me: “Hello, thanks so much for your prompt response. This is just with our family, the bride and the grooms immediate family. We have a large wedding planned and thinking about canceling to be in the mountains - but we do already have a few ceremony locations and we wont be having a reception. My in-laws are very religious so partying and drinking isnt really in our agenda. Just looking for a beautiful spot that isnt so outdated like a lot of the other rentals weve seen.Our large wedding here in FL is October 2nd, but due to us wanting to elope - we are flexible with dates. Due to our nieces and nephews being in school, summer time is a potential option.Could you provide me with more information regarding these rentals and if the Chateau and Retreat are nearby one another?Also, I know you mentioned exceeding the amount of guests per home. I did look back and dont see a guest permitted count, though we dont have guests exceeding the number of rooms. An excellent experience... Ron and Beth took care of us like royalty! They were quick to answer our questions, and even fixed the fridge when it broke at 3am! We will book again with AVL.

Very frustrating experience with AVL trying to book one of their properties. Went through a week of screening only for them to rent to another group. They need to implement better client practices or allow you to place holds on properties to avoid wasting your time. EDIT - I updated their review to 2 stars because they got back to me after 4.5 years to tell me they dont remember me.

Unresponsive and unprofessional! My group rented 4 lofts in the S & W Building on Patton Avenue downtown Ashville through AVL. Parking was originally included. However, the city of Ashville changed the rules regarding renters using parking permits prior to our stay.We were given a written statement by AVL saying that the owner would reimbursed reimburse our parking costs. All we had to do is keep our receipts and turn them into AVL.Which is what we did……..3 times so far over the past month. The staff of AVL has not even acknowledged our request.In addition, one of the members of our group had rented the James Loft. When it came time to pay the balance she didn’t hear from AVL and couldn’t get any information from them regarding the deposit she had made.She found out that the owner of the James Loft had fired AVL in the interim and was able to get her deposit transferred to the owner only after personally contacting her.This company is unprofessional, unresponsive and unethical. We are continuing to chase down our parking reimbursement.
