We enjoyed our time at Eagles Nest. The view was spectacular! We enjoyed sitting out on the deck for our morning coffee and our evening libations. Accommodations were more than substantial. The place was very clean and we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay at our fingertips. Although the place was secluded, it was a quick drive into town for groceries and other amenities. If you would like a vacation in the beautiful mountains of NC but close enough to visit Asheville, I would highly recommend a stay at Eagles Nest.
Beautiful views of the mountains in the distance. The house was well-equipped with plenty of space. Relaxing on the multiple decks cant be beat. No surprises, the house was as promised. Kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfortable & furniture was high quality.....including the furniture on the deck. The driveway is steep & be prepared to maneuver cars in a small area. Also note that many streets in the area lack street signs. As it is quite hilly, Google Maps did not always work. Providing landmarks on where to turn (example-turn left after You Store-It Self-Storage) will assist guests in finding their way.
West-facing back porches with unobstructed mountain views, beautiful at sunset. Clean and spacious cabin. A farm at the foot of the hill made for lovely walks (nursing calves and foals). Plenty of room for a family. Excellent support from property management when we needed help for our own goofs!
Great place to spread out and enjoy nature. Close to everything, but far enough away to enjoy nature. The stream out front with fire pit was nice, and we enjoyed the dog friendly yard too.
Pisgah View is just what we were looking for in the Asheville area. It is comfortable, welcoming, cozy, and it has amazing views. The home is surrounded by nature, its on a quiet street, and has everything you would need. Its located a short 12-15 minutes ride from downtown Asheville, Hendersonville, and Fletcher. Its also very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Grocery stores and shops are a 5 minute drive away.Even though only my wife and I with our two little dogs stayed in the home, it comfortably can sleep up to eight guests. The kitchen has all the utensils you need, there is a large propane barbecue in the terrace, it has a washer and dryer set, large TVs in the master bedroom upstairs, and in the 1st level family room, and good speed and coverage WiFi.Some of the previous reviews mention a tight driveway. We traveled in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Camper van and had no trouble backing out safely. We highly recommend the property.
Great house. Enjoyed the game room. Recommended to co-workers amazing place for family.
Our family spent a wonderful week for the holidays at Asheville Connections Asheville Country Retreat property. It was the perfect house for the eight of us to come together after a crazy year and unwind. It had plenty of space for everyone to do different things when necessary, and large common areas for us to gather together in. We especially appreciated the large and well appointed kitchen, which included a great stove, two ovens, and was very well stocked with pots, pans, bowls, platters, utensils, etc. And Asheville Connections was very communicative and accessible in arranging for our arrival and dealing with any questions that we had. We would definitely consider this house if we return to Asheville again!
UPDATE - AS OF 7/27 NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE BY HOSTS. NO CONTACT. NO RESOLUTION. NO REFUND.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.For the record, I have been attempting to work with the hosts towards an amicable solution to this experience. This is my VRBO experience at11 Racquet Club Rd, South Asheville, NCUpon arrival at 11 Racquet Club Rd...And admittedly, I should have seen this as a red flag...The directions to get to the condo were so vague, and poorly conveyed, that I had to call the host to help me find the place!Condo details below.1) It was filthy dirty. Filthy floor, filthy blinds, filthy bathroom tub/shower, filthy rugs. So I did what most people would do, I cleaned the place thoroughly. Not at all my responsibility. 100% the hosts job! But, after documenting the arrival conditions, I cleaned up.2) HEAVY insect pressure. Ants, house Flies, and the deal-breaker at the end were the Fleas. Without knowing an exact number, I killed no less than hundreds of flies in the weeks I was there. Windows and doors shut, still no clue how they were getting into the condo, but it was relentless. Ants also relentless. Had to buy traps at one point, bleach the drains, and again, power clean the kitchen. At one point the ants were eating the dead flies on the floor. Again documented. Just so so gross. Fleas followed after the next point...3) The AC went out for 4 days. Happened Thursday night, alerted the host on Friday, and it was fixed on Monday. Side note - When I was told I had to wait through the weekend, I called a local Asheville HVAC company on Saturday, to see if they had availability to come out and fix, and they did in fact have appointments available. So it could have been fixed sooner. All documented...Travelers not more of a priority than saving a few bucks on a repair, I guess. Hot here in June.4) Broken window screens. Compromised windows, patio door, and window frames. This undoubtedly was at least partly responsible for the extreme insect pressure, but with the AC gone, the windows were the only respite from the heat. So, I was pretty much screwed in every direction.5) Due to these circumstances, I abandoned the condo 4 days before my stay was scheduled to end, because it all was just too much to manage anymore.BECAUSE OF VRBOs POLICY OF NOT REFUNDING A CANCELATION. Ive asked for recovery on the rental fee from the host, including the necessary cleaning/insect management supplies I bought out of my own pocket. As of 6/23, nothing has been done or offered.Zero communication from hosts. To finalize, until the issues I dealt with are cleared, and the host employs better methods of preparing/maintaining the unit for future travelers, my recommendations would be FIRMLY against anyone else staying here. Thanks for reading.
Lucy and the Asheville Connections team was fantastic. All my questions and concerns were answered quickly by Lucy quickly by email and phone. The house was exactly as advertised and a very good value. The welcome snacks were a nice treat and there were minimal checkout procedures. Thank you again.
We had a fantastic stay at Eagles Landing, beautiful views and lots of fun hiking and relaxing by the creek. Lucy was awesome to work with and a very helpful host. We will be back!
The property was beautiful, thoughtfully prepared, and sanitary! We had a wonderful stay!
My family had an amazing vacation renting Pisgah View in Fletcher, NC. We had clear communication ahead of time. It was the ideal location and very easy to get to. We were in close proximity to downtown Asheville and Biltmore. The neighborhood felt secluded but was only 10 minutes to conveniences like grocery stores and gas stations. The view from the back deck was spectacular, the fireplaces were cozy, and there was plenty of room for our family of four humans and one dog :) I cant wait to stay there again!
We just recently enjoyed a peaceful two week stay in a mountain rental we arranged through Lucy Beverly of Asheville Connections. Everything was comfortable and expertly organized. We returned to her services through the years because we know all the details of our stay will be properly handled. Thanks Lucy, Ann and Bob
Eagles View, Chandler.First and foremost, the views from the cabin are just stunning. It was the main reason we selected this place. We stayed with kids and dogs for few days and truly loved it. The place was very clean and well maintained. Its got everything a family might needed while vacationing. I was a bit worried about finding the road to the cabin, but google map surprised me in a good way. BTW, the 4wd requirement is for real. Good ground clearance and traction is very important if you do not want to ruin your vacation. The owner was very responsive, although we did not need anything. Well be back.
We spent a week in the Asheville view home. The house was super! It was clean, well appointed and had a lot of character. The back deck was amazing. It was hard to drag myself off of there to go down into Asheville. We loved the floor to ceiling windows and the night view of Asheville was a real treat! The air conditioning worked really well on the few really hot days. We saw several bear in the neighborhood, but they didn’t seem to care that we were nearby. If you have a sedan and you come to the driveway with the house on your right, pull forward and turn around to come in from the left. Because of the mountain location, there is a drop in the driveway that a low to the ground car can catch. After you do it once, you won’t have a problem, but it caught us off guard the first time we drove in.This was a great place to stay, it was quick to get down into Asheville for all the fun there, but it is really hard to leave the house in the mountains!!
Grove park - Sunset house was a great family getaway for Easter weekend. The house is up a mountain road but just 5 minutes from downtown Asheville. The view from the back of the house is commanding as soon as you walk in the door. Floor to ceiling windows across the back of the house showcase the beauty of the mountains and the city below. It is spectacular! The house itself is lovely and clean. It has a great kitchen that is stocked with all you need to make meals. The bedrooms and beds are comfortable and the living room downstairs is cozy and has the amazing views of the mountains. There are plenty of books and games in the house to enjoy. It is a great place to relax and unwind after exploring Asheville and all it has to offer. We would certainly return! Asheville Connections was easy to work with and check-in/out was a piece of cake. The instructions were sent to us ahead of our visit.
58 Homewood Lane- Eagles Landing.Though we had a nice family vacation at Eagles Landing, we were expecting much more from a luxury rental with 4.5 stars that sleeps 12. For 5 nights and 7 people, we were paid over $3700. Our property manager, Lucy was friendly but that does not negate what we experienced. We enjoyed our stay despite 1) TV not connecting/unable to use/we were told to call Direct TV customer service, never was resolved during our stay 2) cream carpet in bedrooms and hallway was visibly filthy and surprising in a pet friendly home, a poor choice for those guests who have allergies. 3) weak Wi-Fi signal - had to sit in family room or kitchen to work 4) kitchen not well stocked: very few bowls and only 2 wine glasses 5) no firewood 6) shower door in master bathroom flimsy and came off the track with gentle use(big sign posted to use gently which we did but it just needs to be repaired) 7) hot tub cover broken 8) unusable indoor fireplace 9) A/C so loud outside bedroom at end of hallway unable to sleep 10) unusable hammock above muddy spot under porch 11)no toaster oven(pretty standard usually) 12) no garbage disposal(we are told this is normal in this area) .
We stayed at the Pisguh view cabin and had a wonderful time! I was especially pleased to know the website photos were not enhanced. There was a beautiful view of the mountains with evening sunsets. Kitchen was stocked with spices, garbage bags and essentials as well as laundry supplies. May have been left behind by other renters but was happy to see it there. The house was spacious and worked perfect for our group. Only disappointment was not seeing any bears!
We stayed at Eagle’s View this past weekend and it was simply amazing. Secluded and private without a soul around and the views were simply spectacular. Cabin was well stocked with supplies. Don’t really have a complaint except for the horrific smelling water but I guess that’s just what mountain water smells like. Not really sure. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive or you will not make it up to the cabin! It’s no joke! Loved this place and will definitely return one day!
Hawks Nest was a huge disappointment!! As soon as we went in it had a horrible musty odor & that odor remained the entire week we were there. I even had to wash the sheets to help with their odor but it only helped a little. The floor air vents were so filthy we feel that is probably where the odor was from. The pots & pans were in bad condition & lids didnt match. There were spices there that expired in 2004 so obviously nobody really goes through things and cleans. We asked if there was a blender since my husband does protein smoothies & I was told yes only to find it was broken and so dirty it was gross!! Thank God we took our own coffee pot as I would not have wanted to use the one there. I wanted to use the jetted tub but dirt came out of it so no way I would get into that. The hand towel holder was broken, bathroom drawer was broken, the blinds were filthy and many didnt work. The hot tub was not appealing at all and it smelled like a couple gallons of bleach were dumped into it. It is NOT a short walk to the fire pit and stream plus it is down a pretty steep hill. No chairs to take down so even to drive down to it you would have to stand around the fire once you made it. We planned and saved for this trip and were so very very disappointed!! The biggest disappointment was when we returned home and I emailed Asheville Connections about our concerns, not once but twice, I never heard a word back, nothing at all! I even sent pictures. That speaks volumes to us when a company will not even acknowledge you and try to make things right. We will not be back to Hawks Nest or any other property of Asheville Connections. This is the 1st bad review we have ever written so we are not normally complaining people but we had to let others know about Hawks Nest and Asheville Connections.
A great place to stay with amazing views! Everyone we interacted with was so helpful and friendly, they truly made us feel at home. The location is perfect as you can explore many different areas that arent too far from the house. The hot tub is a great way to relax and unwind after a day spent outside. Absolutely loved it!
Had a great time - it was a lovely place to stay!
I cant think of how this stay could have been more perfect! Our family brought my 92 year old mother-in-law down to visit the Biltmore and stayed at Laurel Mountain - perfect place that felt like home as soon as we entered the door. Surrounded by beautiful color from the surrounding trees, the view of the mountains in the distance, the birds that visited the bird feeder on the deck. We loved gathering for breakfast - easily prepared in such a spacious and well equipped kitchen! And we got to renew (well, most of us) our pool shark skills around the pool table in the evening. The place is immaculate and very comfortable. My mother-in-law is ready to find another reason to visit! Thank you for sharing this beautiful home!
My husband and I have stayed at Hawks Nest repeatedly. It is a place we love to go to disconnect from our busy lives and reconnect. The hot tub, cooking romantic dinners, the peace and quiet nestled in the mountains are so relaxing and always refreshes us.I cant wait until our next visit!
We had an awesome vacation in Asheville. Asheville Connections is great to work with. Lucy is professional, courteous and helpful. Our cabin was a short drive to downtown and the views were amazing! We would definitely plan our next getaway with Lucy!
Booking was last minute for us on the way to Asheville but Lucy found a perfect place for our family! Booking was easy and the house was amazing. Clean, cozy and very fun. Will definitely be going back.
We stayed in Eagles Landing. The rental was excellent. We had a large group of friends staying there for a weekend, and this house had everything we needed. Check-in was easy and the rental company gave us all the information in advance. The house is about 5 minutes from I-40, about 20-25 minutes west of Asheville. The house was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with pans and utensils, plus a basement kitchen. Theres a gas grill on the porch, which overlooks the woods from atop a hill. Theres also a great game room with ping-pong, pool and foosball. Thanks again!!
2017 holiday - Our group ranged from ages 10-50 and we all had a great time. The House was very well stocked and no one had a chance to be bored - over a dozen games to play along with a fabulous library to enjoy. Lots of ping pong and billards and eating and relaxing, what could be better ! We will be back!2018 trip was just as great ! Lucy from Asheville connections is wonderful to work with as usual. We saw 3 small deer from our bedroom window ! Got in a few good hikes on the property, which was well marked. Everything in the house was in working order and wanted for nothing. Short drive to Ingles to restock and only 30 min to Chimney Rock and 20 to downtown Asheville . Perfect in my mind . We want to make it a yearly thing !!
We had a wonderful trip. The cabin was quiet, peaceful and so cute, it had everything we needed! Would love to visit again! Thank you!
This was the most pleasant and uncomplicated vacation ever. Asheville Connections was easy to work with and found us a perfect house at the last minute! Thanks
Fine management and very pleased with my stay at City View. Highly recommended.
We stayed at Dancing Waters and had a great visit! The location of the property was private, yet very close to everything. Less than 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, about the same to Biltmore Estate, and less than an hour to Chimney Rock. The home has a large deck with a view through the trees of the creek down below. We really enjoyed the firepit and the hot tub (too bad it rained every night so we couldnt enjoy it more!) The fenced yard was great for the dogs. The living room was spacious with plenty of room for everyone to sit. Lucy was extremely quick to respond, and great to deal with!
The cabin was just as pictured. We basically just had to bring ourselves and our clothing. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, showers had plenty of force, and we had all the conveniences of home: wi-fi, cable, stereo. The hot tube was a bonus. They had experienced a power outage before we arrived, but a quick call to Lucy resolved that problem. Shes the best! We loved it and plan on returning for another stay! We wish we could have stayed longer!
Big Laurel cabin exceeded our expectations! Loved how private it was!
The condo at Raquet Club Road worked well for us. The description was accurate. The location was good some 10 minutes south of Downtown Asheville. The Raquet Club membership was a bonus allowing gym access and tennis court usage.
The cabin was very well furnished and felt remote, yet not far from attractions. We spent a wonderfully rejuvenating week there!
We stayed at Dancing Waters in late March for a 3 night stay and absolutely loved it. Reserving the property and check in/out were very easy processes with little work beyond looking at photos of the place. The home is spacious, open, and clean. Unlike a hotel where the conditions of the beds can be a toss up, the king bed in the main bedroom in which I slept was so comfortable I dont think I moved at all at night. My children loved the garden tub in the master bath and really enjoyed the game room upstairs that gave them an out-of-the-way place to play. The home is very private and quiet. I immensely enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning enjoying coffee in my bathrobe and spending evenings relaxing in the hot tub after exploring the mountains. As for location, I personally think Dancing Waters is great. During our time there, we visited Soco Falls and Cherokee in the Smoky Mountains, Linville Caverns and Linville Falls, and a beautiful ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Grave Fields Falls and Looking Glass Falls. All of these locations were no more than an hour (if that) from the home. We were able to leave at a leisurely pace, spend hours sightseeing, and still return home to make a home-cooked meal and have dinner on the deck. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will be looking at a longer stay in the future. My children, who, at 4 and 5, are rather experienced travelers used to varying accommodations, have demanded that we must return to Dancing Waters.
Needs some sprucing up but overall it was a nice chalet we had.
What a disappointment!! The Bluebird Cove was over-priced by 2 maybe even 3 times. It is a rather small, secluded cabin (in nice surroundings). There is no AC duct-work for the upstairs master area. The place smells horrific (we spent $25 on deodorizers which partially worked). Many fixtures simply fell off the wall when we placed our towels on them! There are literally special rules/instructions in the welcome book on how to use the downstairs shower. The welcome book has to be at least 5 years old! I spent nearly $2000 on my stay alone; fix it!The appliances are extremely cheap and not nearly what you will certainly find at almost any other cabin in the same price range. To the management’s office’s credit they did immediately fix the EXPOSED STAPLES/NAILS in the master shower and they had the TOILET FLAPPER fixed and replaced in the downstairs restroom (though it wasn’t fun to manually go into the tank to “flush” the toilet every time one of us used it, until they fixed it). They did not fix the exposed rusty nail in the wood floor that my son stepped on. Fortunately, it did not break skin. Also the side door to the house would not lock and after 30 minutes of trying I simply gave up and hoped for the best at night and when we were having fun out of the house. My daughter got trapped in the downstairs restroom after the lock got stuck. We had to slide a knife under the door so she could jam it open to get out (did not make it any more fun since the toilet wouldn’t flush!!!).Also, on our second day we came back to the cabin after a long day of fun and we wanted to turn on the television and we could not find the Directv remote that we used in the morning. I searched and searched. I moved couches and cushions. I opened cabinet drawers and even searched the refrigerator. I was confused as to where it could be. In my search, I did find a remote that I was able to use to get the television working. I informed the management company of the missing remote and that I was able to get the television working with another remote and I hoped it was ok. Their response was literally, “Thanks for letting us know. Owner just updated the tv and wifi. So glad all is well.” Whaaaaat?!? Someone came into the place where we are staying, changed stuff around and NO ONE TELLS US?? What in the world?Further they advertise much more square feet than it actually is. There is an unusable basement which is simply dark/dank and a bit spooky. The only way you can enter is through an exterior exit. Also there is a screened patio which has zero utility. Our stay was a disaster! We wanted to spend as little time in the cabin as possible. We arrived back to it past 9pm every night exhausted from a day of activities. We would have like to have a little rest and relaxation in the beginning/middle/end of the day, but it was impossible due to the poor state of the cabin. We simply did not want to be there. This place was absolutely not worth the money at all. Plus the management company only seemed to care about fixing the issues, which to their credit they did address (except for the nail in the floor). However they failed miserably to realize that the real issue was an overpriced, run down cabin with unhappy guests from day 1. Find another management company and another place to stay!
Great experience and an absolutely breathtaking home!
