Theyre real honest. Ive been taking my car to them for years and when something doesnt need replacing or fixing, they say things like, did you HEAR something cause your brakes are fine or you know your timing belt is a chain. You probably wont even have to change that.

The identify the problem, then give you a call and discuss the issue and the best way to fix it. They give you the cost estimate and stand behind it. They dont over charge. They do exceptional work and do not do a job half way.

The folks at VJ’s are always sooooo sweet and helpful. You can tell they really know how to figure out what’s going on with a vehicle and make an effort to find the most affordable solution. Usually, taking care of automotive issues is a total drag - but, the friendliness and quality of service at VJs make the process a really positive experience.

I tried these folks out for the first time by taking them a car to get inspected. They answered and were polite over the phone, sweet even. When I got there, they politely communicated where to park, etc. VJs performed the inspection quickly. I spoke to the shop boss about getting some more work done. He was polite, friendly, and the price he gave me was honest.You wouldnt think this should be a high bar for a business to meet, but it is apparently from my expeprience. Good on VJs for at least leading me to believe theyd like my business. I look forward to giving them some more work and seeing how they do.

They are a true family business! After using them on a regular basis for my old Subaru, I got a new car and was not by for a long time. Years later, I came back and the service is as great as ever. I really enjoy going there!

Never had my car serviced here but they change my oil all the time and its great service for a great price. Friendly staff. Only down sides is difficult parking due to how close its to the road and waiting area is uncomfortable.

Very good price diagnosed my oil leak and a problem with my steering wheel could have definitely overcharged me but didnt and was very honest and had everything done in one day

Awesome people and work. After being told by Firestone that they couldnt fix my wheel bearing VJs fixed it in 2 hours for 1/2 the price Firestone quoted. I was on vacation and feeling stuck but these guys treated us like family and got us home.

I have held my tongue for far too long. This shop DESTROYED my car. I needed an engine swap and accidentally ordered an incorrect engine. That was my mistake.However, when the engine arrived, this disgusting excuse for a legitimate business waited until I called on the DAY IT WAS TO BE READY FOR PICKUP to let me know this was the wrong engine and said that they were getting the right engine to put in and would let me know when it was done.The girl on the phone was incredibly rude. I had not called once until the day it was to be finished...So, my 2300 dollar engine seems to have disappeared without a trace, my twin cam 2.2L engine was replaced by a single cam engine. (Still not exactly sure if the installed engine is the right size) This one looks like it came from a junk yard.Dents were left from the inside of the car doors. (The girl said that they had been there.. it is my car... They were not there before. I dont even know how I could make dents from the inside ...)The hood support arms had been left up constantly and were totally shot out.There were loose wires hanging, censors not attached to anything, and possibly no longer even there.When I checked the spark plugs, they had not even been gapped at all...Who knows what else was damaged by these people...The engine seems to have been installed wrong as well. There was a strange feel to the transmission and that went out soon after the engine swap. Im not sure if that was related, but more than likely it was.Please dont support this place. This is what needs to be done and gone from the amazing and gorgeous area that is Asheville.These kinds of places severely taint and tarnish the beautiful land of the sky.

If I could give a 0 star I would. They replaced a fuel pump on my car last month. I got it back and it continued with the same issue (not wanting to start). Took it back and they had it 3 weeks. Kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it, that it worked fine for them. Got it back with the same issue. Took it to the dealership and turns out VJs gave me a bad fuel pump and now Im out almost $600. DO NOT take your car here they will rip you off

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!Had a starter switch replaced here, charged me almost $500! It lasted one start then wouldnt start, brought it back to them and the car sat in the back for 3 days with them doing nothing, nor any phone calls from them to tell me what was going on. Finally I had to get Asheville City Police to come with me to get my car.All the so called good reviews on this place must be by their family and or friends.Dont make the mistake I did by taking your car here.

A rather disheartening and disappointing experience, to have an immobile vehicle at a repair garage for a week and three days before they even look at it, a Thursday, and not until the next Monday to learn whether it was even fixed. It has left a rather foul taste in my mouth. Especially with the difficulty it caused at my work.
