If youβre looking to rent here RUN AND DONT LOOK BACK and this goes for any of their properties..... Thank me later π
The property looks amazing. They are always making improvements. New roofs on all their buildings. The manager is very knowledgeable when it comes to apartment living and always available to talk to.
At the end of August Ive been living here 7 years. There was an incident at my apartment, but I personally did nothing wrong. As a matter of fact I feel that I did the only logical thing any normal person would do. I was given a 30 day notice to vacate the premises. In March I spoke with the maintenance man about some repairs I needed done and was told they would be taken care of. I understand that was probably not the proper way to request it and Im not speaking bad about him at all. I think hes a great person and hes always done an awesome job for me. I requested these repairs done again in April. This time I spoke with him and the property manager. I was basically told to deal with it until I moved out. Meanwhile all of this water dripping and leaking is costing me money My water bill has increased $14 in the last 2 month. I didnt pay my rent right away because they wouldnt do my repairs. Shortly after I was served with eviction papers. Im disabled and receive housing assistance and if evicted I lose it. Not to mention no one will rent to me. All of my rent through June has since been paid through the courts. I was evicted in magistrate court, but exercised my legal right to file an appeal. I won my appeal in District Court. As soon as we walked out of the courtroom the property manager told me that they would not be doing anymore repairs in my apartment. Some of which are requirements of Housing to be completed by tomorrow at 5:00 pm. Failure to do these repairs will cause me to temporarily lose my assistance. I realized a couple of days ago that the AC pipe in my closet is leaking and this is causing my closet floor carpet to stay saturated with water. I thought this was happening because the faucet to my washing machine leaks when I do laundry. My clothes all smell like mildew now and Im really worried about black mold. The tub faucet had also started dripping. This apartment has flooded 3 times due to other problems. To date I have 2 leaks and 2 faucets dripping. The carpet also needs to be stretched. I feel that Im being harassed and discriminated against because Im disabled and on Housing. I am contacting the BBB, FAIR HOUSING, RANDOLPH COUNTY HEALTH DEPT., LEGAL AID and possibly an individual attorney. If youre looking to move you dont want to live here. Since new management came in, living here is a nightmare! A lot of people are complaining that theyre being hassled and harassed.
We lived at Arlington Square for almost 2 years, we enjoyed every moment of it!! The staff is awesome and always very helpful. During the time we lived there we never had any problems with anything. The apartments are a great size and I loved the fact that the 2 bedroom units have their own bathrooms. The exercise room was an added bonus! I would highly recommend this apartment complex if you live in the Asheboro area.
Living here has gotten so much better since new management has been brought in!Crystal has been here for a little over 2 years now, and she stays on top of things, and doesnt wait if you need something taken care of!She is assertive, bold, and takes concerns seriously!she is one of the best managers this place has had in the 7 years we have lived here! She doesnt play and thats what this place needs!
My company recently rented one of the corporate units at Arlington Square Apartments. It was the perfect solution for a short term lease. The unit was furnished and beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly and professional. The office staff and maintenance team made the move very easy. I would highly recommend this community.
Recently I was a short-term tenant of Arlington Square apartments while working in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to getting situated by phone and mail (just didnβt have time to get there and look at places). However, thatβs where the competency level stops. If you are coming in from out of town go over every detail. Information was left out with regards to moving in and setting up utilities they were very adamant about how you have to get water set up but failed to mention electric takes days before it can be switched into your name, and this has to be done before you move in.The apartment was not move in ready even though there had been multiple emails and calls to confirm dates. The toilet was not functional (this took nearly 5 hours to be fixed) which had to be done while I was moving in, light switches (which i hired someone to come do after waiting 2 months) had to be replaced and 2 rooms didnβt even have bulbs, the microwave was falling apart donβt worry though, they fixed it with duct tape. We had to clean the refrigerator and the cabinets in the kitchen. The paint job for the apartment was rushed as the whole one side of the bathroom mirror was painted. Finally, I had to clean out the drain before I could even take a shower as it was completely clogged.Living here was not too bad itβs quiet and near a park. In the six months I was there though it took me 4 months to get rid of the ants that arrived after the second night I was there. I had to address this issue I was basically ignored when I reported it.Letβs talk about office hours, I have lived in my fair share of apartments but never had I lived in an apartment complex that offers to hold your large mail items but then have no way to collect them. The officeβs hours are from 9 am to 5 pm Mon through Fri, my work hours 8 am to 5 pm Mon β Fri, and all three office workers would usually be out to lunch at the same time. I thought that maybe this would improve once they added a third office person, sadly it did not. I once tried to arrange to have my packages left either in my apartment or at my door, I was just looked at like I was an idiot. It may be our work ethic up north is different but every apartment I have been it usually keeps hours until 6 or 6:30 pm or so to accommodate the people who have jobs and generally has someone there on Saturdayβs for at least half the day.Moving out requires you to hire professional housekeeping and carpet cleaning service, which basically costs the same amount as your deposit. I managed to leave the apartment cleaner than it was when I moved in and I had the carpet cleaned, provided the receipt. However my deposit was not refunded.Apply to move in as a last resort, unfortunately I believe the other affordable apartment complex is run by the same management company.
I stayed in one of the corporate apartments at Arlington Square West. Even at the beginning of my stay the most simple of requests were made difficult by management. I had a hard time getting my key to work and it took a long time for that to get solved and get a new key. Every time I had a question or concern it was put off as long as possible. I would have to make repeated calls to get management, specifically Misty, the current manager to get the maintenance people to come out.My ac unit developed a leak that went several days before maintenance fixed it and then it happened again and after several attempts was finally fixed. This was incredibly important after my experience with toxic mold, it can make you very sick. The management and maintenance did not seem to feel it was an issue even though the surrounding wall and carpet were soaked and a very possible breeding ground for mold.Needless to say I had a bad experience and would not recommend this apartment complex. Perhaps if there were new management it would be different. I cannot tell you how unpleasant it was to work with Misty. She does not belong in customer service/management or dealing with the public in general. She is very rude and inconsiderate of tenants needs. Any request was made to seem like an unnecessary infringement upon her time.I would personally like to speak with corporate but have been denied that opportunity by management. I can only wonder why!!!!I also was charged a $100.00 fee for cleaning the apartment even though it was cleaned thoroughly and carpet professionally cleaned before I vacated. The amount in charges conveniently added up to the same amount as my deposit. Go figure!I would never recommend anyone stay here especially under this management!!!!
Well my experience here has been great. I cannot say enough about the property manager, Misty, who not only can empathize and sympathize with issues, such as a HVAC unit going down, she takes prompt action dispatching maintenance, and getting a second opinion (fix it right first). Most importantly, Misty, took the time to follow-up, and keep me in the loop every step of the way. This was to me, peace of mind, priceless. Great place to live.
I recently moved to Asheboro and was looking for a nice, safe place for my family. Since the beginning they made the application process easy and stress-free. Crystal and Candace were extremely friendly and professional. I rented alot of apartments in my day but this is by far the best yet. I highly recommend Arlington Square to anyone looking for a clean and safe environment. Love this place!
Its nice and quiet here. If you have issues that need maintenance, they are quick to fix it. Management is nice. Rent prices are in low. The only issue is that the people who live here dont respect the grounds keeping, so there is trash in a few places.
I absolutely love this place. Ive been with them for about 2 & 1/2 years. Maintenance is amazing as well as office management. Definitely recommended for living!
This apartment complex advertises many things. They advertise a full working gym, which is inaccurate, they advertise secure apartments and a great place to live... In regards to the gym, more than half the equipment is broken and I lived there for over a year - i am not renewing my lease. secure apartments, thats going to cost you and the secure measures dont always work... A great place to live, if you dont mind your cars getting broken into, or damaged without repercussion. My car was gouged by a neighbor. I did not see this with my own eyes, but another neighbor did. When this information was brought to management, they said Well send a letter, those are their most famous words... No one fixed my car, nor offered to and management couldnt care less. Next time, they said to call the police. Um excuse me, NEXT TIME????Aside from that, there are serious health code violations within this complex. There are multiple 8 unit buildings that have a serious mold problem and all the owners do is send someone in to vaccum it up, put some bleach on it and/or paint over it. Then they re-rent the unit. The mold is literally in the walls..One of the people in a neighboring building has been peeing on his deck/patio space for over a year and nothing has been done. It is absolutely disgusting and the whole area smells of urine. I get you cant help what others do, but after multiple complaints from multiple tenants, guess what, they sent a letter... Which changed nothing. If its broke, dont expect it to get fixed unless you lose it on the management or dont mind waiting until your lease is up. I am surprised more people have not reviewed this place for what it is. This is bottom of the barrel living at best! Save your money and find a better place, this is not worth it, no matter how cheap the unit is. Management is cheaper. This review got 1 star - because the only good thing, is that it is a roof over your head, although, sometimes, the outside elements would be better...
I lived here almost 6 years. For two years the apartment above me leaked water, two years I told them, but due to their incompetent maintenance hiring, I was told theres no leak. Dispite water marks so sever the bathroom ceiling was falling down. When I moved in the carpet already needed replacing, and I had to beg just to get the ceilings painted, and they also painted the counter top, who does that? So after giving my notice, and knowing the apartment was long over due to be remolded, I was refused my deposit because I didnt have the carpet professionally cleaned, carpet that was going to be ripped out the next week, besides living in apartment that constantly smelled of mold and mold on clothes and shoes and other personal belongings for over two years. Theres no leak there, and I bet its still leaking. Apt 6A Strider St
I rate Arlington Square Apartments a 5 star, two thumbs up,the community is neighborhood friendly, clean environment, the apartments are cozy, huge living room, bedroom, nice size patio.great staff members and maintenance,,,and cable readyI have a California king size bed,,,with extra room, close to convince stores, eatery, gas.,so before you look any future,,stop by for a tour, you cant go wrong.A great place to call home.
Love the mama hand they are very good and always on top of things and will work with you..Crystal and Tammy is a great team.
Very friendly, super great to deal with. Crystal is amazing and very helpful. Couldnt be happier with my choice of living here.
Love living here Crystal the manager and her assistant are great people they really care about their tenants
They have stopped excepting payments in the office the only ways you can pay all charge a fee. My review may change. Well see how they act when I move out after my current lease is up.
I will have been living here going on 4 years in a couple months. Ever since Crystal has taken over management, things have never been fixed. I, along with other past tenants that have moved because of this issue, have had to deal with cockroaches. All Arlington cares to do is bring in the cheap stuff that doesnt keep them away. So me and other tenants have had to buy from Terminex with our own money to rid this issue. Arlington said they did not consider it an infestation so they chose not to reach out for better and might I add pricier products. I have also found mold along my window seals and all along the edges of my air conditioning unit. All of which I have had to take care of myself. There is a dip in the walkway on complex 2 off of Strider Street. It causes water to rise above your ankles and every tenant in this complex has to walk through it to get in and out of their apartment. During snow and ice, there is always an icy patch sitting there for someone to fall and hurt themselves. Maintenance is a joke. They do not come to fix things in a timely manner, if ever. I had to sleep in my car one night because I locked myself out of my apartment and emergency maintenance refused to come out saying I could be anybody and refused tp help me in my apartment. The next day I was told by Crystal that they dont do anything after midnight anyways. Then what is EMERGENCY maintenance for? I have been fighting a series of health issues lately and Crystal took it upon herself to walk inside my apartment while I was in the hospital. She left a letter stating she entered my apartment due to an inspection but my neighbors did not receive any type of inspection. She had no probable cause to come inside my apartment without me being there and there was no prior notice of an inspection on my phone or by letter. As I said I have been struggling. I had gotten behind on my rent. Crystal filed eviction papers. Me and her as well as my mother discussed the amount I needed to pay in order to stay. I came up with the entire amount 4 days prior to the court date and Crystal said it would be dismissed. The court date comes and she backs out on everything we discussed and evicts me anyways over a prior sitiation I had no control over. Ive been wanting to leave this place but I have not been finamcially ready. This is a horrible place to stay. Bad maintenance and bad management. It is not worth your money. Stay away!!!
Just terrible, Given 3 days notice to resign lease and pay fees, higher rent, if not singed in 3 days monthly rent goes up?? Running from this place Update, the day after your supposed to sign you get a paper saying no longer allowed to pay at office, that you have to pay online and also pay for this service AND pay a fee for payment ARE you serious right now lol another update, we have completely moved and the office lady is harrassing my husband on his job WOW
I moved to the Arlington Square apartments in May, 2016, after a long nightmare with my previous apartment residence. The management staff and maintenance personnel at Arlington Square are exceptional professionals who address any issue in a prompt and proficient manner. Spacious, quiet, comfortable and attractive units, accompanied by awesome Neighbors, makes Arlington Square a choice property in the Asheboro area.I truly enjoy calling Arligton Square home and I shall continue to lease for a long time to come.Sincerely,MYD.
Is very generous energy efficient but I need help with water maintenance would be a 5 minute job but is taking over a month for help my water bill is 40 dollars and is never been over 20
DO NOT MOVE HERE! I moved here in April 2015 and it was the wrost mistake of my entire life! I wouldnt live here if you payed my rent! I dont even know where to start but here goes! After living here for 2 days the law came knocking on my door because the lady under me called saying I was being too loud (I was cleaning my kitchen lol) everyday there was people fighting outside of my apartment law was constantly having to be called because of that! (I have pictures and videos to prove it) One of the neighbors that lived below me was a drug addict that constantly had drug dealers & no good people coming in it out! One night one of his drunk friends came knocking on my door at 2am wanting me to give him a ride! And one day and I sit and wanted a lose pitbull chase down a cat and kill it! I called the office and was told well I dont know what to do about that you need to call animal control! And this will top it all off so one night as im sitting on my patio a black man runs threw the back of the apartments into the woods holding a handgun! Also not even half of the gym equipment works & same goes for the washers and dryers. This place is a complete disaster! Misty was amazing so I decided it was time to move when they got new management and treated us poorly.
RUN. I am currently stuck in this horrible place, the manager lies. People throw garbage over there balconies into the woods, there are grocery bags of garbage hanging in the trees behind the apartments and furniture dumped in the woods, I was shown a 1 bedroom apartment in building 6, when I walked in it reeked of rotting corpse and chemicals, the floor was mildewed in the bathroom and the carpet had no padding underneath, I asked to view the larger size one bedroom which is located in a seprate building the Manager Misty, who is a horrible inhumane person by the way. Said I dont have any ready but I can show you what one looks like I walked in, to my surprise it didnt have much of a smell. The carpet was filthy, it was just all around dirty, she assured me the carpets were going to be professionally cleaned and everything was to be painted and cleaned. Myself in desperation signed the lease, on move day she gave me my keys (which wont work half of the time) and I walked into the apartment to find it in the same condition it was in when I viewed it. When I confronted her she said its be cleaned and painted, the carpet will not be replaced. Not only was the carpet still filthy, (dirt, high traffic marks, feces and urine stains) but now was covered in a layer of paint from the paint sprayer. She refused to give me my deposit back, or even move me to another apartment, and also wouldnt give me upper managements number. Upon move in, I had no water pressure, no shower head, a toilet with a cracked tank that took 4 attempts to fix after flooding the bathroom floor several times, and it still leaks by the way. The bath tub and sink clogged, the thermostat broken, the dishwasher latch broken and come to find out the dishwasher as a whole is broken, it leaves black crust all over dishes and wont drain, therefore water just sits in it and 2 burners on the stove dont work. They zap the apartments with ozone machines that kill off smells for a short amount of time then they return. Now my once not so smelly apartment smells like dog, garbage, sweat, and mold. It is almost unbearable. There are 4+ people living in the 1 bedroom apartment above me, I have filed a noise complaint with Misty about them using exercise machines at 5 and 6am right above my bed, nothing has changed. I work 1st and 2nd shift, I never get sleep, I never get a nap, from 5am to 11pm+ it sounds like Golds Gym and Bounce Party for the kiddies above me. The grilling area consists of a picnic table behind a dumpster. People have pit bulls, and sometimes 2-3 dogs in a single apartment, and dont clean up there droppings. Every inch of grass here is covered in animal waste, its even on the side walks. The neighbors have absolutely no respect for one another, some people over here have outside cats, that crawl into your balcony and spray your patio furniture. The cops are constantly patrolling this tiny complex, which is kind of unsettling, iv heard talks of drug activity within the complex (apparently people arent aware that their voices carry) and have notified the office, nothing has been done. I do not feel safe living here, and this is absolutely not a place to have a child. YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE. MARK IT OFF YOUR LIST. Within the next week or so im breaking out of my lease I cant take it anymore. Good luck to you all!
You dont what to live here they will put youout becauseyour kids are outside playing if a person is Handicap and have a lot of family members over they will put you outbecause you cant get out of the house because they will put you out so dont move here the manger here is something
Ive had no issues and life is swell at Arlington Square.
The manager was very helpful.
I would less than one but it will not let me. Misty is by far the worst apartment manager I have dealt with. There is mold in the apartments it wasnt cleaned when moved in. Overall just a horrible place to live!!!!
Great apartments for a great value!
Terrible place to live mold is in the apartments the one name chystal is very nosy she calls your job and make sure youre still working there she is all in your business took me 4 days to move in because they wanted me to show proof of a job and water bill and electric was on and in my name not worth the money when u can get a house instead
Underhanded at best
