This place is not like any other crossfit gym I have been a part of. It is a community of humans who care about each other, each members individual progress, and creating a healthy view of fitness. The coaches are knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely care about each member. Always prioritizing safety and technique, while making appropriate modifications for movements. But they will also kick your butt! This is definitely a very special place.
There’s a great community at this gym. Everyone is kind and welcoming. The coaches are knowledgeable. They give great feedback on form and guidance to achieving a better workout. Would definitely recommend!
Why I prefer a boutique gym like a Level Up Fitness versus a big global gym... My big box gym costs a fortune, I’m on my own on the floor, not just that... I did the HIIT and PUMP classes that over time I stopped see results. Training in person at LEVELUP with a coach, in class setting has been probably been one of the most valuable investments of my time and money. The coaching is so good, I finally feel like I’m on the right track with my fitness for the first time in years. I plateaued doing those previous classes, now I feel stronger and am seeing results quicker! I prefer this smaller functional fitness setting because of the valuable coaching I get during workouts, than over a big global Gym where you’re left to just figure it out on your own. LEVELUP Fitness is super clean, tons of personal space to workout, and the music is on point too!
I’ve been a member of a number of boxes around denver and this one has been my favorite for sure. Great mix of people and awesome facility and gear. Haven the owner is always an encouragement and makes sure you feel welcomed and is willing to keep you accountable. Great box for sure.
I was a member along with my girlfriend for about 7 months. We were looking for a crossfit experience like we had back east. We thought this was it and ended up being a bit disappointing. First off i will say the facility is great for the size, everything is in good working order and clean. It does lack any shower but it didnt matter to me at the time. Coaches are very knowledgeable and have a great attitude. i always felt they had our best interest in mind and were there to help. our issues came with community feel, while i think the management made an effort it was really not there for us. Communication was always a little lacking in our opinion, we came from a very vocal group back east so maybe we were expecting too much. We moved and decided that the location was just too far to make the commute. When i informed them of this they decided to enforce the 30 day notice. Ive had to leave two crossfit gyms for different reasons and neither have enforced this. we supported them through the covid lock-down and even went back before the state gave the all clear so I really thought they would let us go. I know i signed the contract so i should know better but this has really left a bad taste in my mouth. it has also prevented me from joining a new crossfit gym so im back to a globo gym. So overall i would say the gym is good but everything else is meh.
Working out at this gym is empowering! Im constantly hitting personal milestones, feeling stronger and more skilled with every workout. After 6 months, Im doing things I never thought I could. Beyond the great vibe, varied program, and fair pricing, my absolute favorite part about going to Sloans Lake is that it feels like personal training. Im never lost in a sea of members and get tons of one-on-one attention. For me, that value cant be beat!
Love it here. Was New to CrossFit, but I felt welcomed instantly. I was trained properly and Im having amazing results. Definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for a new workout environment.
Joined this gym after being out of fitness for far too long due to a broken arm. Haven has been very helpful in tailoring each exercise to my capabilities and pushing me to my limits. The gym has a wonderful family atmosphere and everyone pushes you to improve and become better. Best decision I have made all year was joining Sloans Lake CrossFit. Cheers to health!

After moving to town I was looking for a new box to call home. SLCF got the bill perfectly. Coach Havens programming is varied but also is carefully tailored to help every athlete work toward their goals. Haven and the coaches have also done a great job at fostering a close knit community vibe. As soon as I walked in the door I felt like I was greeting old friends.
The coaches are phenomenal and incredibly talented at programming. Not only have I experienced significant changes in strength, mobility and flexibility, but the community at Sloans Lake CrossFit is encouraging and welcoming to say the least! It can be intimidating to walk into a new box and not know anyone or be uncertain of your workout performance, but from day 1 I felt like I was a part of the family. Im so grateful for SLC, and for the knowledgeable coaches who push me in a safe and healthy way.

Hands down the warmest and most welcoming gym atmosphere Ive ever encountered. Haven is an incredible coach/owner/motivator/friend, and hes successfully built a team of instructors that go above and beyond what should ever be expected.Although initially skeptical of crossfit (in general), the approach and attitude of the coaches, as well as the other gym members, made this one of the easiest and most rewarding choices of my life. Highlights include ample 1:1 coaching, extensive practice dedicated to each exercise, strict attention to safe movements, a welcoming environment for people of EVERY level and background, and a laundry list of classes to choose from everyday.The other reviews are spot on when they say that SLCF is a family. It has been an absolute treat to be a part of it.
Itd be easier to say what I dont like about Sloans Lake CrossFit, because then Id be done. Amazing coaches and an amazing community of athletes. The coaches here are attentive, supportive and insanely motivating. They get to know you as an athlete and help push you while staying safe and healthy. Both coaches and athletes share in the excitement of PRs, learning a new movement, and hitting goals. There is so much more than just your WOD, you benefit from nutritional and mental support :) You can go into any class knowing you will get to spend the next hour with friends. This is the best community and support system anyone could ask for.
Ive been here for a year and a half and have to say its a top notch facility with an encouraging and safe atmosphere! Caters to all ability levels without judgment. Great coaches and welcoming members!!!

The moment you step into the gym you feel welcome and supported through every challenge. The people offer a community like no other gym and they start to feel like family. The facilities and equipment are top notch and allow you to focus on fitness, not trying to find working equipment or space to get fit. The coaches, Haven, Ben, Dana, and Kate are incredible.I have been coached by Haven in athletics and lifting for the better part of 12 years and his knowledge and methodology is like no other. I have never found another coach that drives me to be better or improves my skillset more than Haven. He leads a team of incredible coaches and will help you accomplish whatever your goal may be.Bottom line is if you want to feel like a bald eagle on the Fourth of July, this is the gym for you.
My husband and I have been with SLCF for about a month now and could not be happier with the decision we made to join. The people are friendly and welcoming and the coaches are awesome. I was nervous about starting CrossFit because I was afraid of injuring myself by lifting too heavy with bad form. This is a gym that emphasizes lifting correctly before lifting heavy, and praises effort and moving well over lifting big. My husband and I already feel better, healthier, and stronger and actually look forward to working out - what a miracle. If you have any hesitations, meet the coaches and step into this wonderful community! Give Sloans Lake a chance and you wont regret it!
I can’t say enough good things about this place and these people. No matter what your fitness goals are and no matter what your current fitness level is, the coaches here will help you get in the best shape of your life. The community and comraderie here is wonderful. My wife and I have made lots of great friends at SLCF and the supportive and encouraging atmosphere is great motivation for tough workouts. If you’re even a little curious, you owe it to yourself to check it out. If you choose to join be prepared to work hard, have fun and make a ton of great friends.
When my wife and I left our previous Crossfit gym, we searched long and hard in the North Denver/Arvada area before deciding to join SLCF. We dropped into a bunch of different gyms but it was clear after 1 class at SLCF that this was the gym for us. The family atmosphere and members here have been amazing, from having a first-class facility with every piece of equipment imaginable. To a top-shelf coaching staff, my wife and I couldnt be happier with Haven and the team here. They even have been super accomodating by allowing our kids to come hang out during the workouts and our oldest did a few of the open workouts with us! If youre looking for a new workout challenge or just want to expand your Crossfit abilities, make sure you dont miss this awesome gym!

I didnt want to join crossfit for two reasons: the cost and potential injury. I finally joined Sloans Lake CrossFit and couldnt be happier. It is worth paying the membership to be in great shape and increase my energy levels. The coaching harps on form over anything else. I could see it being easy to get injured if you dont have the proper coaching, but at Sloans Lake CrossFit the coaches truly care about the health of each individual first.
SLCF is fantastic. Ive been crossfitting for 4 years and have been to many boxes around the Denver area, and Haven understands what it means to be a good coach! Hes really good about working with you to achieve your own personal goals, while keeping your health and your body in mind. Youll get a good workout in, no matter what your skill level is. As someone who has historically been intimidated by gyms, my experience at SLCF has been nothing short of phenomenal. Haven and his group of coaches are dedicated to building a positive environment where the focus is on attaining your own personal best results while performing the movements correctly and efficiently. While always in a group setting, I am continually impressed at the personal attention I receive and the motivation from coaches to push just a little harder. Ive always been intimidated by CrossFit, but finally decided to give it a whirl after meeting Haven (coach/owner of SLCF) at a beer festival. :) Every misconception Ive ever had about CrossFit was completely shattered after my first workout. Haven and his coaching staff are incredibly thorough with breaking down movements for every workout, so correct form and safety are always of the utmost concern. And the community here is SO welcoming and encouraging, theres just nothing like it. I love the variety of the workouts and love that I am always pushed beyond what I THOUGHT were my limits. I’ve never seen results so quickly, or gotten stronger so fast, as I have here at SLCF. I can’t recommend this place enough and I’m so happy I found it.
I have visited a lot of gyms and been exposed to a vast range of coaching over the years. I am also one that is a bit reserved when it comes to trusting programming and coaching in the crossfit world. I can say without hesitate that the SLCF coaches are phenomenal and incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to programming. Simply put; they walk the walk.Since day one I felt at home and part of a great family. I have felt at home, but not comfortable. :) These coaches are not going to let me get comfortable, which I love! They were quickly in-tune to my strengths + weaknesses and will not let me just coast during a workout.I am looking forward to the day that I can call SLCF my home gym full time. My current schedule has hindered me from getting into this gym as much as I would like, but that does not take away from the experience I have each time I enter those doors. I am so grateful for these coaches and for this instant family!
This place is such a joy to come to the reason I dont have to take medicine for my anxiety because I can come here and let go and be in a happy place not only great people to workout with but great coaches.I hit milestone each time I go bc the great coaches we have.
I have never been a gym person, group fitness person, havent been fit for a loooong time! Started the gym train in 2016 and found SLCF in 2017. In the short time I have been at SLFC my body has completely changed. Some of that has been the amazing 6 week nutrition challenge that allowed me to lose almost 3% body fat. I have gained lean muscle, nutritional lifestyle changes, Mental resilience and amazing friends. I get to go in and see great people and work with amazing coaches and that makes me keep going back.
Not only great programming for all levels of crossfitters, but they also focus on community and nutrition. The coaches are happy to answer any questions you may have and work with you to help you reach your fitness goals!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this gym and all the coaches…….Every single day at this gym is a day of personal growth in some form. Whether physical or mental, I feel that gains are made every workout. These coaches are so much more than I could have expected and every workout feels like a personal training session. They are 110% present and involved with each member, fully aware of individual capabilities and personalities. They know when to SAFELY push, when to scale and when to bust a move to get the morning going (Haven). Seriously though, form and safety is rule here and every workout begins with a progressive “walkthrough” of the day’s workout movements to make sure we are ready to attack the WOD.I grew up an athlete and I really thought that I was doing a pretty “good job” at fitness through my adult life (I now realize that I wasn’t). One day, my women’s boot camp program closed its doors and I was lost. I had never considered doing CrossFit because I’d heard of so many injury stories. I have learned inside these doors that this is a total misconception of Crossfit when training with highly skilled coaches. The best thing that ever happened to my body was walking through the doors at Sloan’s Lake Cross Fit and meeting Haven and his coaching staff. I can’t even give them the praise their awesomeness deserves. At this point in my life, this is exactly what my body needed and now craves. I have gained a mental and physical strength that I have not had in a long time. The entire system of this gym works. It is about becoming stronger both mentally and physically. It’s about nutrition. It’s about community. It’s about becoming a whole new complete healthy. It’s about always remembering that there is room for growth no matter where you are at in life and fitness. Sometimes it is just “1%” more at a time but there has been constant growth and achievement for me.The community is amazing, supportive and FUN. Being new to CrossFit, I was sure I would be intimidated through this process, but everyone is here for the same reason. Their own personal growth and achieving it within a supportive community. A 100# deadlift is just as respected as a 400# deadlift in this gym. I couldn’t choose a better place or better people to surround myself with. I gain inspiration from them all, newbies and veterans. Together we laugh hard, work hard and push each other to reach new gains and goals.I’m in awe of my progress in a matter of months.This is a whole different kind of fit and I am lovin it!
Honestly, a lot of the time when I’m looking up reviews on any app and I see a 5-Star review, I automatically assume someone just pencil whipped it and threw it in as a favor. But, in this case I can truthfully say that is not true. I’d give it 6 stars .. Heck, 6.5 stars if possible. This is a great gym that operates wholly behind the mantra of health and family first.Crossfit often gets a bad rap, and for good reason. A lot of places are there for the wrong reason or cater to a more “specific” member. I get it. But the owner, Haven, tries hard everyday to make sure you’re training in the way that’s right for you. Him and his coaches always work tirelessly to accommodate every skill level and goal.When done right, Crossfit is a great thing. IMHO it is a relationship based approach to working out. In the right gym you will make solid friends and always feel safe.If you’re new to Crossfit and a bit hesitant to try it. Give Haven a shot. If it’s not for you he will understand.If you’ve had a bad experience and are one of those Crossfit truthers, give Haven a shot. I bet your mind may change.If you’re looking for some competition.. Well, Haven may not be your guy (he’s really getting up there in age), but I have no doubt you’ll find someone else there..Or, if you’re just looking to be part of a great community, give Haven a shot. I promise you won’t be let down.
I stumbled upon Sloans Lake Crossfit because while on a trip from Detroit to Boulder for my CF Level 1, I needed a place to drop-in to get my Crossfit fix after a long day of flying!I haven known Joy virtually for a few years, so when she mentioned her box, I was happy to finally have a chance to meet up with her, while still getting my workout in.I observed the small 4:30 class and watched Haven go through each of the movements that were going to be in the workout, providing alternatives but also having the athletes practice the movements before the workout. I loved the individualized attention he gave, emphasizing safety and solid movement patterns.I was fortunate to have the 5:30 class all to myself, so had a great training session with Haven, where I was treated just as if I was one of his own athletes. It was a great change of pace to have an unbiased coach, but also great to address issues I had been having that have been struggles over the last couple years but presented in a different way.There was a great focus on warmup and mobility, which everyone could use more of, and it just felt like such a great home away from home!I fell in love with Colorado after visiting there for the first time, but know I will be going back to CO in the near future, and definitely making Sloans Lake a stop during my travels. :)
I love SLCF! I believe that what sets SLCF apart from any other gym that Ive been to is their commitment to not only helping the members achieve their individual fitness goals and dedication to proper form and technique, but also making it a fun, community based environment. After leaving the gym, I not only feel like I got a great workout but I had a great time and am always excited to see what SLCF has next. Ive learned a tremendous amount about food and nutrition as well as how best to take care of my body to maximize my recovery. Working out at SLCF has helped me to push me to knew heights and Im now in the best shape of my life. I would recommend SLCF to any of my friends, from beginners to experienced athletes who are looking for a new gym to call home.
Sloan’s Lake Crossfit has been an amazing part of my life for the past 4 months. As a competitive rugby player with previous crossfit experience, I was looking for something to spice up my off-season training and SLCF certainly nailed it. Haven and Amy, the coaches I worked with, are extremely knowledgeable and observant – they know when to push you harder, when to help you find a modification, how to work through mobility issues and how to make the tiniest adjustments for the biggest gains. Best of all, they are always happy to answer your questions – about technique, the best way to crush the WOD, nutrition and life. They work well with beginners and experts alike and are super passionate about what they do. The coaches are not the only reason SLCF is amazing – the other members are welcoming, fun and encouraging – truly a community of awesome individuals - and a gym dog, too! I recommend Sloan’s Lake Crossfit to anyone in the area – from beginners to experts, old or young, male or female - anyone who wants to be stronger, healthier and happier!
Ive always felt intimidated by the weight room area of gyms, (Ive been a runner my whole life, so Ive got a strong lower body, but my Olive Oil arms are pretty weak & pathetic). My husband told me about a new CrossFit box opening up, & that hed met the owner/coach, Haven, & he was a really great guy! & thought itd be fun to join SLCF together. Im always up for trying something new, so I agreed, but honestly didnt have too much confidence that Id actually enjoy CrossFit or stick with it. That was 5 months ago, & Im completely hooked (so is my hubby)!!! Haven is truly amazing & cares deeply about each & every member. Hes focussed on safety, is very thorough with instruction for each movement, gives modifications for movements that are unable to be properly performed, & hes unbelievably caring, motivating, & kicks our butts! ;-)Hes hired on some other amazing coaches as well & every day is a new, & different WOD (workout of the day), so it doesnt get boring, which is fantastic! Ive heard horror stories from other people about boxes where the coaches were meat-heads & didnt pay attention to proper form in their athletes, which resulted in injuries, no Bueno. Thats the total opposite of Sloans Lake CrossFit, they are all about proper form, good technique, staying safe, working hard, supporting every member like family & cheering each other on. Ive come to realize that varied physical movements actually work to improve overall health & Im seeing positive results. Im very grateful for SLCF & would highly recommend it to anyone!
