This over-priced place lives between not the absolute worst and aspiring to be mediocre. My SNS acrylic nails are the former. They are thick and the shape is weird and unflattering. On each hand, some of my nails look like paddle boards while others surfboards. More, my gel pedicure is the epitome of mediocrity.Equally egregious, they nickel-and-dime you. As many reviewers have written, I will never go to this place again!
Kim, who only works on Sunday, is great. The other nail tech I saw on a Thursday did a terrible job. Nails were uneven and the color did not go all over the nail, you could see my Real nail underneath.Ill only be going back to see Kim if I go back. Having a manicure done is expensive and I hate wasting money for them to turn out like trash.
Never had a bad experience here. They always know how to do the design I want and the wait time is never long.
Would not recommend. Would NEVER come back!! I made an appointment through ClassPass. However, I was told only afterwards that the appointment was with another salon, same name, few feet away, just not with them. They didnt honor it and still made me pay. They didnt say anything when I showed my confirmation email before I was getting the manicure. And the manicure was totally rushed. The color was not even. I could do a better job than them. Would NEVER come back.
Love this place! Just went in for a manicure pedicure for the first time and she did an excellent, thorough job. Loved and really appreciated the tranquil atmosphere after a long day of work. Its really not your typical nail salon, and thats a good thing. Would recommend you book an appointment!
Im a repeat customer. That says it all. I travel 9 miles to get serviced here. Always leave satisfied 😁
Went not so long ago. Jael the front desk girl complimented my outfit and made my day! she was very sweet. My tech was Dina and she did a great job, I love my nails and LOVED HER. I will be a repeating customer for sure. 😍
For a walk in appointment, my mom and I came in for manis, they were able to take us right away. They seemed to honor their appointments, which is important! Great, relaxing experience and I got the exact nails I wanted!! Thank you!
I normally get gel nails. Dena did a gel fill and chrome polish. She is great and makes your nails look natural too, not too thick and bulky.
Quick, professional, and convenient. I love Cindy! She did my nails exactly how I wanted them. I’m already on week two and will be stretching it another week or so. Great job. It’s a drive for me but it’s worth it!
They were very slow and the lady that was doing my feet didn’t have gloves on and was coughing with no mask when I asked her can she please put on gloves and a mask she gave me an attitude and said she has the vaccine and she’s fine but she was still coughing and sneezing. The second lady that did my acrylic nails told me how much it would be while doing them I proceeded to walk to the register and the women at the front desk tried to cheat me out some money after I did the math myself even after tax and also what the people that were doing my feet and nails told me. I would not recommend this place as covid friendly.
I went in for a full acrylic set with a photo of what I wanted. The mail technician took the time to bring me several options for colors until we found one that matched close enough. I was so satisfied with the service, very quick but clean and nice work. I would recommend this shop if you’re in the pentagon city mall looking to get your nails done.
This has been my nail shop for about 10 years. Erica & Nina are the best. If you can schedule ahead choose one of them. They do great work.
Cute nails and talented staff. Expensive though.
Great service! 1st time coming here with my bff and they are amazing! My technician was great I didnt catch his name but he was great very precise and I didnt get hurt at all like at another nail place. Price was reasonable and he was mad wicked in a good way. Also didnt even have an appointment and we were attended in a well timely manner.
I went in to get an overlay and regular polish not even 2 days ago. My nails were poorly serviced and I was over charged initially until I advised the manager that that wasn’t the service I requested. The nail tech then got upset stating that well I can file the gel polish off and do something over after I’d been there for an hour already. I will never go back to this nail salon, I had initially heard great reviews but clearly I picked the wrong technician. I also raised concerns about applying an “tip” my my already damaged nail and it’s already causing me issues. I was so disappointed in my service I made sure I posted in both Yelp and Google reviews smh
I came in and requested a pedicure and a fill in.They sat me in a broken chair and gave me a basic pedicure which cost over 60.00 not including 5.00 for gel polish. The square shape of my nails are the worst (I mean really who wear blocked square nails) and the fill in was another 60.00. They rushed through both services. I would not recommend this shop.
Christina is the Absolute Best.Years of Excellent Service 🤩
My experience here was not the best. So I wont leave a bad taste in anyone else mouth. U be the judge. I will say its a nice place. The customer service another story...
This was the first time i got my nails done! The workers were really nice and helpful, Modern Nails & Spa took good covid precautions. I was very comfy getting my nails done!
The hospitality was wonderful the people was pleasant I love how they take time out with you, my nails is awesome and my feet is even better.
Nice place. Pedicure did not last
Horrible Customer ServiceThe lady was rude and was rushing. They also didn’t have a lot of colors to choose from !!I picked 4 different colors and they where all out !!!Never again!!!
Been here a couple times and overall had a good experience. Quality work. The only reason this review isnt 5 stars is because one time i came in just wanting a regular manicure. The woman offered a gel manicure because they had the color I wanted in gel. Me, not knowing a ton about nails, asked specifically if it was the same price or if it was more expensive than the regular manicure i was getting. She said it was the same price and it would last longer, so I figured why not and got the gel. When I went to the cashier I was surprised to see that it was twice as much as I was expecting to pay. Make sure youre more informed than I was!
Very professional. Everyone does a great job. Average service is on the higher side. The location is convenient. However they need to have more polish & gel polish selections. They only have OPI vs other brands like DND or Essie. It would be helpful if they kept on top of color trends or at least refreshed the color selection once in a while. That’s my only complaint. Can’t wait until they bring back the wine and mimosas!
I’ve been coming to Modern Nails inside Pentagon City Mall for years. I LOVE this place!!! Great selection of gel nail colors, mostly friendly staff, very clean and long lasting gel manicures. My regular technicians Tina and Tracey have been out for a while due to personal reasons, so I decided to try someone else in the interim-Erica. In the beginning, she was very nice and professional. However, I noticed my nails started to break under the gel polish within a few days of me getting a new manicure. I think it’s due to her mostly filing my nails when removing the previous gel polish set instead of utilizing the silver tool to mostly take it off and then filing it if she can’t get the rest off. In result, my nails became weak. In addition, she can be very slow at times and has a tendency to talk a lot instead of focusing on the manicure/pedicure to get you out of the salon in a timely manner. The nail in the coffin for me was this past Sunday. I was in the area of the salon, needed a manicure but didn’t have a reservation. So I thought, they may be able to squeeze me in. I understood there was a chance Erica could be booked with someone else, so I didn’t trip about another tech potentially doing my nails. My gut instinct was right because Misheel did my nails. During the service, Erica walks up and asks me, “ Why I didn’t book with her?”. Pretty much felt interrogated. I do not plan on booking with her again. Very Unprofessional! Misheel was quick, friendly and my nails have not broken yet. That’s whose getting my business from now on.
I have been going here for years and I dont even entertain the idea of going anyplace else...ever. Everything is clean and organized. All of the technicians are very good but Im Team Kelly all the way. They offer a 5% discount if you pay cash. Always remember that you have to pay your tip in cash (and youll want to tip because youre going to be so happy when theyre done working on you!) even if you pay by card. You really cant find a better place to get your nails done and they even offer you a glass of champagne if youre so inclined. Go just once and Im sure youll become a regular too.
I travel from DC to get my acrylic nails done here and wont trust any other spot.
Highly recommended! I got a Mani/pedi without an appt. The entire staff was very friendly and my tech was talkative, funny, and did a great job. From what I can tell, most, if not all the staff, speaks very good English. I never once felt they were rude or talking about me to other staff members. Lots of regulars based on how well staff knew most customers
The shop is nice, and the staff is always very pleasant and very professional. The lack of stars is simply due to the quality of my acrylic set. I’d only had my fresh set for 2 days before I’d encountered two of them breaking(one while literally scratching an itch, and the other while opening the car door to go have the first repaired.... very regular every day life activities). I called the shop and they were very gracious and repaired them no problem. Not even one more day passes before another 2 broke on the opposite hand. I didn’t bother to go back for a second repair because A. I live in DC and while it’s not far the location isn’t convenient for me & B. I wasn’t going to pay for the repair in the event that they refused to do it did free so I saved myself(& the staff) the possible frustration. As a former employee of Pentagon City mall I can also say this is not the first time I’ve had this happen here. My gripe isn’t relative to cost because I’ve had acrylic nail sets from less nice places for just as much that lasted close to a month without a fill in.
Wonderful staffGood servicesA little pricey
I went to this nail salon for the first time because I’ve heard great reviews about this place. when I arrived, the staff was nice and got me started right away (which is why I gave them one star). I had asked the nail technician for coffin shape but instead she was confusing it for almond shape even after I had showed her a picture. she continues to cut my nails all wrong & refused to accept that she was wrong. she then tells me that my nails were not long enough to achieve a coffin shape and said I needed tips... She got really annoyed with me trying to explain what she did wrong so she got up abruptly and said “I will have someone else do your nails.” A man then comes up to me and apologizes and says he has to cut my natural nails off and put tips on them because she messed them up. The nail tech didn’t even apologize! Which is extremely rude. I will not be coming back.
My sisters went here and had a very nice time. Friendly staff and gorgeous nails.
Very friendly and did great job with nails
Ive been here before and had a pleasant experience but after yesterday I will not be back. I came in after work, wearing a silk top and dress pants (business professional) but they treated me as if I was invisible. I can only assume because the color of my skin. A Caucasian woman entered before me and she was immediately asked by the front desk clerk how they could help. She was only looking for a pricing sheet. I waited for the clerk to turn to me but instead she started helping another clerk who had a disappointed guest.I waited patiently while they assisted the other guest. Another Caucasian woman walks in and the clerk immediately asks her how she could assist. At this point Im wondering if Im invisible. It turns out Im not. I was still there. The lady that walked in looked and at me asked Were you waiting? Yes, as a matter of fact, I am.The clerk then asked how she could help me and assigned me a nail tech. I showed the nail tech a picture of the nails I wanted. They are short stiletto nails, and a pink color that reminds me of a mermaid. She hands me a ring with 1000 nails on it and says choose a color. I politely ask if she could direct me to a similar color. She says they dont have anything like that and to choose a color. I asked again if she could help me at least get to the pinks. She then says she will do my toes and someone else can do my nails.I go to the chair and she asks what color for my toes. THE SAME COLOR. This color is not that special. Its literally a soft pink with a shimmery finish. She takes my phone showing all the techs the color. She then comes back and says someone else will do your toes.I left.
Megan was very helpful and made sure I was comfortable at all times.
Call ahead and make an appointment because its a small spot! One of the best gel manicures I have ever gotten-- seriously. The technician was really sweet and taught me a cool trick to make the color stand out more. Nicest people. Phenomenal service. Manicures last a really long time. Very clean, very good service.
I love the place nail technician are good.
I always do a walk-in for a gel manicure. I have gotten maybe a dozen manicures here. The longest Ive had to wait was maybe 5 minutes for a technician. Ive seen a number of different technicians and my manicure looked good each time. I would recommend this place for a gel manicure. The speed and quality of a manicure are worth the slightly higher price tag.
The owner Linn is the best! They are doing an excellent job in these COVID-19 times 🙌🏿👏🏿🤜🏿🤛🏿👍🏾🙌🏿 All the Nail
Pricey, but satisfying.
I paid $60 for a gel acrylic full set, and it was worth it. My nail tech paid very close attention to detail to make sure my nails came out perfect, which they did. I recommend scheduling an appointment because there was zero wait time for me. I will be returning.
Ive been coming to this location for allost 9 years and its been hit or miss, but never experienced anything like my last visit. They ruined my nails. The tech filed the top of my nail until she burrowed a hole in my nail, which I didnt notice until she applied cuticle cream and it started to burn. Its been 2 to 3 weeks and I have numbs as nails. My nails keep splitting and breaking. The next day my fingers hurt to put them in my pocket or purse and every nail was bruised. Heres the worse part...I contacted the manager. Sent pictures of the damage and was only offered 20% off my next visit. They refused to provide a refund. If I were you and unless you know your technician, I would save yourself the trouble. The customer service is horrible! Theyd rather keep $29 than to try to maintain a customer of nearly 10 years.
I would give this place 2.5 stars. My nails look nice and the shop is clean. I wasn’t sure what color nails I wanted and she picked several colors for dip nails. I forgot what they would look like after they were done and asked if I could quickly look at the colors again and she told me I couldn’t....? For $55, which I was initially told $50, I expected more pampering and massage since I’ve gone to places $15-$20 cheaper but they did just as good but I knew they were more simple.I said the price was initially $50 because when my nail technician rang me up, she did it super quickly so she could slip in a $5 tip (which is super shady because she didn’t give me the opportunity to decide if I wanted to add one). Overall, it got the job done but I want more attention and not feel like I’m getting rushed. I think I’ll pass next time. I went here due to convenience.
The atmosphere is very relaxing. The staff is very friendly.
Customer service and they do a great job and attend to my needs
I live in the local area and tried this salon for the first time despite the reviews.I got the acrylic gel nails and one of my nails broke within a week so I went back to the salon to get it fixed. I get my nails done often and I get them cut so short that it looks natural and so that they won’t break off. I have never had one break within a week. Maybe two weeks. Maybe. When I got it fixed, the lady was rude about it and told me that it was my fault that the nail broke. (I have a desk job, I’m not working manual labor). I didn’t say anything back and just could not wait to get out of there. She also could not find the color match and painted my one nail a different color than the rest and she was going to leave it mismatched if I did not ask her to paint the rest, so that it matched! They did fix the nail and I had to pay for the color change. I wasn’t going to post a review, but literally not even a week later, that same nail they fixed, broke again. I couldn’t believe it.I worked in customer service for 6 years before and this is not how you treat customers. They need to know how to treat customers and would be surprised how much a little nice customer service goes the long way, and you would have customers return, not just for the nails, but for the service. Even though this salon is closest to home, I would not return here for the customer service nor for the application of the nails. It’s best to go farther away and be happy with your experience.
My nails were nicely manicured, but the service made me cringe. I experienced luxury at its worst.Renovation? Why?When the location was smaller, and more personable, the customer service was excellent (5 stars).Well, Id rather keep $50 of bad service in my wallet
Every two weeks manicured.
The shop itself has a great atmosphere and the staff are amazing. I recently decided to switch to acrylic nails instead of my regular gel manicure, and I LOVE the way my nails look. I would recommend to anyone in the area!
After searching and searching I found this spa and Chloe did amazing job on my nails and my eyebrows were perfect, done my kayla!!! I’m here to stay!! Not to mention the wine and mimosas ❤️❤️
The customer service at the front desk is highly unprofessional. I made an appointment on a Monday for Thursday of the same week. Apparently, there is no actual appointment system and no proper communication with the nails techs and the front desk because when I came in, not only did the front desk no no about my appointment but the nail tech didn’t either so she wasn’t even there. The pregnant front desk clerk brushed me off as if I had no reason to be annoyed and then sent me with another nail technician who wasn’t comfortable or even stilled enough to do the design I wanted! Which by the way a simple neutral ombré. My appointment was set for 10a, the nail tech that I originally booked with didn’t show up until after 10:30! Piss poor communication.l and subpar skills.
Thought Id found a great place; been going for a few years. However after renovations, it became like an assembly line. I went for a pedicure not too long ago and developed a rash. My doctor informed me that it was a fungus infection which I have never had before. Needless to say,I will never go there again!
Great customer service once you walk in, I picked my mail color and was greeted with champagne omg !! Must try if you havent yet...
I will go back.
I went here a couple weeks ago and got an amazing pedicure from Heidi! She was great and the place was very clean and reasonably priced.
If you are black dont bother. You are treated like you are nothing and you get the pleasure of watching lighter hued & white women get pampered. As if you have different money. With all the colors they offer for nails, they still have a problem with black?? I think i will just go natural. I bet if all black women would stop going to these places for 2 months straight it would cripple their business. Then maybe theyd learn some humility in the U.S....
I have never publicly posted a review anywhere before, but I agree with everyone else who has given this salon 1 star. It was super expensive - $24 for a basic manicure with no polish - and the person who did my nails treated me like she was doing me a favor. She was rude when I walked in, asked me several times why I didn’t want gel or a color polish, and asked me if I was scared of her. I’m not kidding. It’s too bad because this place is conveniently located in the mall, but I won’t be back.
I love my nail technician. Shes one of the best in there. Ive been going to her for 7+ years and she always gives me special attention.
Well.... won’t be going back. The atmosphere is nice. The place is clean. But as far as getting what you asked for? No. I asked for a full set light blue nails and this lady didn’t tell it it was mood polish... and the other color is an ugly gray that makes the edges of my nails black. Worst part is the color I asked for is t even showing anymore at all. I asked if they could redo the color because the bottle didn’t even display “mood” they told me “no” with no discount. I mean the color is just ugly I had to go to a salon when I could trust the colors. This was my first type coming here and it will be my last. Don’t trust mall salons period.
Do not even waste your time here. The place is nice but staff is horrible. The lady rushed my nails. I got a full set ($39) then i asked for a ballerina shape nail and she gave a square set for ($45). She made my nails so thick it look so chunky and disgusting. my nails aren’t even the same length. Never coming here again. A waste of $45.
I saw the reviews never the less I gave it a try cause not everyone is as friendly as you expect. But I love the fact that even though I gave hard time to Julie she made sure I leave happy🙊🙈thanks Julie for all your patience with me I appreciate it🙏🏼
Amazing salon. Fair price for great quality. I totally recommend this place.
This review is for the Modern nails on the second floor of the pentagon mall. And I can say NEVER AGAIN! I just needed gel polish. When I got there nobody was on the reception, I stand there waiting when finally somebody paid attention. They offered me to choose the color but I couldnt do it properly because the nail tech was jumping around me like she was in a rush. When I picked the color she didnt even tell me where to go and I needed to figure out where her table is. When I sat down she asked me if I want manicure I said no just polish, she looked at my hands and said oh you did it yourself I said yes and she started to laugh. She told me to move in the middle of the table in a very rude way and kept throwing my hands. She kept talking to the other girl in different language which was very uncomfortable. When I went to pay she didnt even tell me how much, just took the card, didnt ask to sign just sitting there holding my credit card in her hands like a cigarette not even looking at me.. That was enough for me to understand that I dont want to pay for the service like this!
It was my first time and Bob did an amazing job with my full set! Ill definitely be going back!
This place has great customer service and they offer you something to drink.
Nice location but the service was downright awful. They are more of an assembly line than a full service nail shop. As well, they have little to no respect for kids.
Don’t bother with this atrocity. They wrote my Daughters name on the list as the wrong name and then still proceeded to take customers that came in AFTER us for the same service before her. Kiss my business and my $ GOOD - BYE
So the decor of the salon was beautiful and the lady who did my pedicure was extremely nice but the other lady who did my full set was rude and my nails are terrible. I asked for coffin shape and these look like claws. She did them very very thin and narrow and I had two nails break within the first couple of days. Not to mention that she was also rude to my boyfriend who just wanted to stand by me and watch me get my nails done. Besides the very rude lady (who’s name I didn’t find out) the salon was nice but the lady ruined it for me.
Very rude & unprofessional. I am an employee inside the mall & thought it would be convenient to get my nails done here. wrong! this is the 3rd time Ive gone & NOT been satisfied or treated well. I gave them 3 chances TOO MANY. If you are any race besides Caucasian & not one of their regular patrons, you are invisible. Although my money is JUST as green as anyone elses. As a mall employee who knows the importance of quality customer service, I find it hard to believe they dont.
This Is My Go To Spot for Pedicure & Jade is the Best at What She Does
Love, love, love Christina! The spa is beautiful and well maintained. Its a very relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. I guarantee that once you come here you wont go anywhere else.
This is absolutely the worst nail shop I have ever experienced. I went on three separate occasions. I kept making excuses for them or thinking I was over thinking some things but no it’s horrible. Every experience only got worse. I got my nails done less than two weeks ago. Last week I took off my polish and realized I have a huge fungus growing until my acrylic. Their customer service sucked, I had to asked multiple times for them to shape my nails how I wanted. Did not to a good job with repairing lifts. Just over all bad. And they are expensive to top it off. I don’t mind paying top dollar but darn, I couldn’t even get one service out of three to be nice! Robbed me of my money, PERIOD. AND A FUNGUS!!!???? Smh DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE! PERIOD.
If you go by ratings please go by these. Walked in and receptionist was playing on phone to much to acknowledge me. So I said hello and the response was not hello Im sorry. Welcome or anything to that effect instead once she saw I was there after I spoke she said can I help you. I asked about hand designs to which she said the 2nd location upstairs did them. So I asked how long was the wait and she said I have no idea. I said can you call and find out. She wanted me to walk up there to ask. I asked for a design with rhinestones and she told me they had the color. As I got my nails done she brought over the container of tons of colors. She said the color was in there but she didnt know how many. I asked would she count because I wanted 2 whole nails done and depending how many was there I would change my design. Instead of attempting at all she brought 7 more containers over for me to look though while I was getting my nails done. She was negligent and lazy her name was Jennifer. I planned to get a pedicure and lashes done but walked out after my nails. 8 other customers walked in and she was playing on her phone the entire time. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere
Im visiting from Washington State and I went here with my bestfriend. I was astonished about the way we were treated. First they didnt have any neon colors for a pedicures, plus the basic pedi was $35 and was not relaxing at all. My foot was cut and the massage was painful. My feet were yanked around like rag dolls. I was used for balance and they were very rude. Secondly they offer acrylic sets but when you ask for them, they dont have the powder. They kept telling me something different. So I left way more pissed then relaxed. As a visitor to this place I am not very pleased with the service that was provided and when I visit again I will not be going to this nail place. They could have cared less that I was in the chair. If I could give a zero I would have, I have received a more relaxing tattoo then that pedicure.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU FIND ANOTHER SALON! I asked the nail multiple times to cut my nails down. She didnt. Not only that, but because I didnt want to go with the same person who messed up on my nails I had TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. Ive been to this salon 3 tmes. And the last two services has been horrible. I will never reccomend this place. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else.
Now called Tutti and soooooo nice. Run by Korean women who are artists with nails. Clean, amazing polish selection and pedi chairs they use with plastic liners so you know theyre sanitary. Definitely recommend this salon.
They serve champagne.. love the set up.
The place seemed nice enough. The people werent overly friendly but I wasnt going to make friends. My first problem was when it came time to pay and they told me that my pedicure was $10 more than my friends. When I asked why they said it was because they used the salt scrub on me. They never once told me before or during the pedicure that this was going to cost more. Ive had plenty of pedicures at different spas and a salt scrub has never cost me anything additional. It seems to be pretty standard in most places. I felt that they took advantage. Then, after the pedicure, I noticed my one toe felt a little sore, which I figured was just from them removing the cuticle. However, a couple days later, and my toe is infected!!! Ive NEVER had this happen before. So in summary, Modern Nails is overpriced, poor customer service, and now I have to deal with an infected toe! Will not be returning.
I paid 75 for my nails (thats way more than I usually pay) and two of them ended up breaking the next day for no good reason. I didnt hit my hand on anything. While the lady was doing my nails she knew it was kind of cracked so she spayed some kind of stuff on them but obviously it didnt work. Now I have to go back to the nail salon (not that one) and get two broken nails fixed
The service was ok but the receptionist a nightmare. I had a gift card with $57 left on it and my service cost $35. Instead of checking the card properly, she insisted that I had to pay the full $35 when I did not have to fork out any more cash! When I said that was not possible, she looked again and realized her mistake and debited $35 from the gift card. And there was no apology, none whatsoever!
Nina is phenomenal. She has been servicing my beauty needs for over 15 years. You will not be disappointed if Nina performs any service on you!
Dont be fooled by the nice space. The person doing my gel manicure put on 5 layers of polish NOT including the top layer and as a result has begun peeling not even 4 days after getting it. Waste of $40.
Never isappointed! The music, atmosphere, and the employees are all great!! I gotten compliments on my nails.
The worst experience ever!!! Doing nails is pretty damn easy so why not just listen to the client and do what they ask. I wont mention the name but I left really unhappy. The lady who did my full set French manicure argue about how they should look. Instead of getting a natural look I have fat long nails that defiantly look fake and feel uncomfortable. Ohh and I called the front desk the next day. Again I was treated rudely. Everyone pretends they dont speak English. I will never want to go there again!
Do not make the same mistake I did. Reviews don’t lie.The Worst! I really mean the worst! I haven’t even reached home yet I just left the shop.I wish I could give -1000 stars! The service is so poor. The lady who did my nails was the most rude human Alive. She kept pushing and tossing my hands like French fries. I told her I didn’t like how thick my nails were looking and her response was: «it’s ok huni thick nails better » don’t even waist your time and energy. It was my first and last time!! High price for low quality service.By the way most of the good reviews you see on here are from the workers in the shop or fake accounts.
Very bad experience! The person who did my nails was so rude, I picked two colors and asked to try them both so I can decide. Then she said”you Chinese people never knows what color to do’’ also, she has made one of my finger bleeding!!
Good job with nails, good customer service...a little pricey
Excellent service and clean. Nice selection of polish colors.
I had my first facial at the Modern day Spa a couple of days ago. The preparation process was fine. I arrived 15 mins early, as requested, changed over, filled out a short questionnaire and sat in the waiting room for a few minutes. I had no idea who my esthetician would be. It turned out to be Ruby. She has a number of glowing reviews and for good reason. Ruby clearly enjoys her work, has a vibrant personality, and kept me entertained with conversation during the entire process-- which is good, because I found her far more interesting than the music. Ill certainly request her for my next visit and recommend you do the same.
My experience here was very disheartening, and I was completely unsatisfied and disappointed with how they handled everything. My boyfriend bought me 3 vouchers to here for a facial, massage and manicure/pedicure. I called before I went to see if I had to make an appt for mani/pedi, they said they take walk-ins- I TOLD them on the phone I had a voucher, they also said they dont do facials at all anymore. As soon as I walked in I told them I had a voucher and what I wanted done. They said they do the voucher at the end, and I asked if I got acrylic nails instead of a regular manicure, could I just pay the difference, they said yes. The woman who did my nails did them in a very short amount of time, they were rushed. They are extremely thick, somewhat uneven, not the best job. When I went to check out she told me my total was $118--- now it was NOT an $118 job, but I figured I would use the facial and mani/pediatric voucher (which I was told I could do PRIOR to coming). When I went to check out they said they could not take any of my vouchers. They said they dont take them anymore and I had to pay the full amount out of pocket. My nails were not done well AT ALL and I was very disappointed with how I was treated. I would NEVER return there and I suggest you dont waste your time/money.
The atmosphere is nice and they provide champagne and I had a great eyebrow service, which is the only reason I gave 2 stars, otherwise I would give one star.Amy did my mani and pedi. She was on her cell phone the whole time and wasnt paying attention. My thumb nail ended up crooked and she dug too deep into my big toe and it got infected. I had to go to a podiatrist to get it fixed it was so bad. I had told her to be gentle because I get ingrown toenails and she was chatting with her neighboring technician the entire time, constantly stopping to text and ended up hurting me. I pulled back my foot and it was like she didnt even notice she hurt me.Then she charged me $10 extra to fix the edge of my nails and cuticles, which I assumed was part of the $45 gel manicure, which is already a steep price. The whole service ended up being $140 for a Gel mani-pedi and an eyebrow waxing. Completely outrageous price and unacceptable service. This service would cost me under $100 anywhere else and I would have enjoyed my service much more. My nails dont even look that great so I have nothing to show for it.I will never go here again and have told my friends and family not to go either.
Went there this past summer, a little pricey but worth the money. Really clean and professional experience.
This is the worst SNS manicure I’ve ever received. The lady was nice but she kept telling me I was wrong when I told her my nails weren’t filed correctly, ignored me when I told her my nails hurt, and rushed my entire manicure. I left with sore and damaged nails under the worst SNS manicure. I went back to my usual nail tech and she could not believe how damaged my nails are. Do not go here. It’s no where near worth the 50 dollars.
I have never posted a review (on anything) before but my experience at this nail salon made me do so 2 minutes after leaving. The person that did my nails had a very negative attitude, barely said hello, yanked my hand around, and then asked me to pay mid-manicure. On top of everything, the basic nail polish had smudges on three nails. I was so uncomfortable with the overall attitude, that I didn’t even complain and got out of there as soon as I could. I have never had such a bad experience at a nail salon.
