I was lied to about the services that he offered to fix my vehicle. Chris kept my car for a week with no resolution. He said he could fix my vehicle knowing its special requirements and all he did was put the part in my car. It was never fixed and he charged me for the full price of the job!!!! DO NOT come here if you want to spend your hard earned money and want your car to work!! Money wasted im highly disappointed. Thanks for nothing Chris 👍🏾

During the wait they were very kind about giving an estimate on how long it would take to run the diagnostics. they were very transparent and honest about what the issue was we were very satisfied with their work.

I brought my car in because the lady told me over the phone maybe it was a smaller issue then it really was. I kept asking for a price over the phone but was reassured by kris that my problem seemed more electrical then transmission related. Anyways a few days later I got the phone call that the car was good to go. When i got to the shop i was given a rundown of what issues he ran into and how he fixed them. He seemed very honest and saved me a few hundred dollars because the other shop i was talking to quoted me $650 for a transmission swap with a used one. Turns out it just needed to be diagnosed better so i know ill be coming here next time my car starts acting funny again..

We are extremely disappointed in buying a car from here. We bought the car for $2,500 and had to spend over$3,000 in repairs. They did not tell us of all the repairs it needed. They said it was in good working condition. My mechanic said they sold us a lemon. If you are inquiring about buying a car from here please take it to your trusted mechanic to make sure you are not getting cheated. What really upsets me is that this is a car for my daughter. She still young and learning about cars. It breaks my heart that she was driving in an unreliable car. We hope we have everything fixed now. We take it back to our mechanic in two weeks to make sure everything is running smoothly. I highly recommend that you do not buy a car from here.

I want to thank James and his team for being the honest, straightforward solution we needed. I checked with many reputable shops regarding our sons vehicle, and they all recommended a high-dollar engine replacement. Uncle Bucks was the only shop that offered to run a number of engine tests before making their recommendation. James even ran the tests for free. End result was a solution 30% the cost of what other shops recommended simply because he was willing to take the time to test the engine first. I greatly appreciate the honest, straightforward advice James provided. Since this was an older vehicle, he could have easily taken advantage of us. Instead, he took the time to patiently walk us through and explain what he and his team found, what options to consider, and the pros and cons of each. James made me feel comfortable enough to ask for his recommendation. He then stood behind his recommendation to make certain we were pleased. I cant say enough good things about this shop and about our experience with James. This is s good man! We will definitely be back! Thank you James!

Fantastic service. My car was not moving, blocking OReillys driveway when the owner of Uncle Bucks, which was late Saturday afternoon, drove over, pushed my car of the way and got me back to the shop. That night he drove across town picked up the part and had the car repaired by noon the next day which was Sunday. Best service I have had in 3 states.

I absolutely love James and his daughter Jamie! There was a bit of confusion at first because when my husband originally called Uncle Bucks and explained what was going on with his transmission and what he heard from James was I already have a rebuilt transmission here so I can take yours out and put mine in all for $700 dollars so he was happy at first,but after his transmission was taken out and James saw that it was nothing to salvage with his transmission,he was told it would be more,so of course my husband was irrate and completely lost it,but what he didnt understand is the way it works is if your transmissions core and everything isnt in that bad of shape and you only lost a couple of gears then it wouldnt be a problem because it can be rebuilt but when its completely gone and its no good at all and James puts his already built transmission in in replace of your completely damaged transmission then of course its gonna be more,so to show my husband that hes wasnt trying to just take his money he told my husband you bring me a transmission and Ill only charge you 100 dollars to put it in and not only that James let the truck sit on the rack for a week until he received the transmission and did not charge him a dime for it and James could have charged for storage but this has to be the most honest,and God fearing man Ive ever ran into and James has a heart of gold and we will never forget what James did for us,so youve made a great choice if you bring your vehicle here I promise you will be not be disappointed!

Don’t come to this place!They rebuilt my transmission 4 months ago and within a month I was having issues again, I took my car to the the shop and it’s been there for up to 2 months, the owner keep making excuses that their mechanics are in vacation to put my transmission back. They used to be good until all their old staff quit, I highly recommended that you don’t go here.

This company lost my trust. As a long time customer here I wont be returning here again. I specifically asked for rear and front brake pads that normally would cost me 160 for parts and labor however this time I was suprised with a bill for $500. The service manager told me my rotors were crystalized (whatever that means) and replaced all rotors without notifying me. As a business owner myself I have to be transparent and honest with my clients. Any company that cant discuss cost, fees, part models and what they are replacing upfront cant be trusted. This will be the downfall of this company if this unethical tactic continue and word spreads out.

Fixed my Chevy Spark, full engine replacement. Im very satisfied, it runs great, very good price and worked with me on paying it out. So thankful I found them.

Avoid this place like a disease! We had a terrible experience at Uncle Bucks Automotive and with James who runs it. When first contacted, his promises to keep costs down lured us in. Dont trust his low quotes for transmission rebuild and dont be fooled by his slick fake website (with carry out prices of all things)! After that, its 100% bait & switch. They kept the car for nearly three weeks and hardly even looked at it or gave us updates (imagine 3 weeks without your car!). When we said wed have the car towed elsewhere, James was magically able to claim the car would be ready the next day. Then the price inflation and made up problems began (he tried tacking-on radiator repair when there turned out to be no radiator leak into the transmission fluid). They also claimed electrical problems which never were the case. James said he would enumerate all the parts and labor expenses, but when we got there, he seemed to be pulling the costs of added hard parts *out of thin air.* He didnt even clearly specify which parts were new and which were used (those with only 6 month warranty). When we questioned these prices, he said he would take two bullets to his head before he was willing to come down on price (his exact words!). After that, he said if we didnt pay the ridiculous amount in 15 minutes, that hed charge us $100 more. We left feeling very cheated, with bitter tastes in our mouths. We spent 3x what he originally claimed it might cost and we have little faith in the quality of the repair. If we could go back in time, we never would have given Uncle Bucks the time of day. Take your money (and your trust) elsewhere, and away from these swindlers, or the same will happen to you.

This is the worst place ever unless you want to donate money to them. Thank god i did not spend money over there. When i took my car, they said they will tell me what is the problem for 2 days. But they kept it in the shop for two weeks and did not find out my problem and that i knew it was the transmission. They said i have to put some kind of sensor before looking at the transmission to fix the problem but i knew that wasnt the case. But any i was getting my car back and was about to leave when she stopped me to take out her house keys and key chain attached to my car keys. I was shocked when i saw this and saw how many miles she drove. She put some mileage on my car and did not fix my problem at all. Dont ever come here to repair your car. Its a waste of your time and other peoples time.

I walked in to this shop to get information confirmed from two other automotive places. I had a print out of codes and many items said needed to be fixed. They were so very kind to ride with me to pick up my car and looked at it at no charge. After looking at it it was not any of the many things mainly not the transmission as we were told. Not the water pump, not the transmission module, not the crank shaft sensor, not the, crank shaft gear, not the timing change. I was so relieved and they saved me a pile of money. Im so glad U stopped by just to get some info and ended up with the best experience. I was saved all the way around. I will recommend them to all my family and friends. Trustworthy, honest machanics are hard to find. They are the angel of machanics in my book. Customer for life.

This place is Awesome! I have a Ford Expedition that another shop did a bad motor job on my vehicle. They put a new motor in my vehicle and it runs great. They also put a motor and a transmission in my daughters mustang and it also is running great! Thank you!!!!!!

The good folks at Uncle Bucks have been great to me. I needed a new engine and they have bent over backwards to help me get one and get financing for it. They really understand and help people. All you have to do is be straight up with them and keep the lines of communications open. Dont leave them hanging. I live a long way from the shop but i will use them over and over!

I took my 2003 Infinity G35 to this shop for an engine swap, it took them about a month to swap it out with a motor that they claimed was low mileage but after getting it professionally checked out at another shop they showed me that it had MANY more miles than what they had told me and that it was pulled out of a junkyard. They also pointed out to me that they did a horrible and messy job with the wiring and that the engine burned oil, and that was not covered by my 1 year warranty. A part of the the messy wiring was, while driving either the car or the electronics would shut off and you could smell smoke.As well as being lied to about the miles after they installed the motor there were so many scratches and dents on my fenders it was unbelievable.I left my car with them for a week to figure out what was a misfire and after telling me we dont know whats wrong with it, we drove it and it drove just fine I checked the mileage on my car and there was not even a fraction of a mile more. (I always log my miles before repairs)The engine they put in had a 1 year warranty and the engine started leaking oil so they replaced all the gaskets that was not covered by the warranty and after getting all gaskets replaced it still leaked oil.They also installed a new clutch in my car along with the engine swap there was a loud humming noise coming from the bottom of the car which they claimed was a bad tireAlso I found this VERY INTERESTING, one day while talking to to James on the phone and I was explaining to him that I was upset for having my car over there for weeks to fix something they were supposed to before and he yelled at me and said I AM 4 SOMETHING YEARS OLD I DONT NEED SOMEONE HALF MY AGE TELL ME THAT I DIDNT DO THE JOB RIGHT AND IF YOU SAY ONE MORE THING IM NOT GUNNA TOUCH YOUR CAR AND ITLL SIT HERE BROKEN YOU UNDERSTANDI found that BOTH VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNCALLED FORJames may seem nice at first but he doesnt care about you, only your moneyI made the mistake of paying cash up frontI highly recommend that you do not go here for your own sake

I used this place to get a second opinion after Ichiban Autos quoted a price for replacement of my transmission that was greater than the value of my car. I was planning to just get a new car, but came here for a second opinion. I worked with Michael and he recommended that I just get a transmission rebuild rather than get a new car and quoted me a much cheaper price. I was nervous about it given that my previous mechanic said he has not had good results with transmission rebuilds and I told Michael this but he continued to encourage the rebuild, saying he would warranty it for a year. The price of the transmission rebuild continued to go up throughout the process, which I was not alerted of prior to having the work started, but it was still significantly less than switching out my transmission as quoted by Ichiban. The repairs were slow and I had to wait for my car much longer than I would have liked. 3 months later the transmission failed and James who was then woking there stated that they should not have warrantied it (and admitted it stated on my paperwork that it was warrantied) and they couldnt warranty it now because it was not repairable. He stated they did not warranty parts (this was not stated on my paper work or verbally), so now I would have to buy a replacement transmission, which as mentioned is greater than the value of my car, so I junked it. What frustrates me is that I was encouraged to get a repair through Michael and was very hesitant, but trusted him due to a false warranty he gave me. Lost about $1400 and a lot of time without a car through the process. I very much felt that I was taken advantage of by Michael and that the company was unwilling to be accountable and breached the contract they made and I got hosed.

Brought a transmission in to this place a while back for a rebuild. Too much negative things about this place to write. I won’t spend that much time on them. All I can say is he couldn’t successfully rebuild my transmission which I ended up doing myself with no problems and found where he screwed up.What a nightmare of an experience with this place. He did not offer refund or anything. I have not been back and would never go back to this place. Just a costly lesson learned

To start we do NOT and can NOT give anyone an exact price for any engine or transmission rebuild without checking the vehicle for damage first. We have to know how much the repairs are going to cost us before we will know how much to charge our customers. We advertise basic rebuild prices that include a master rebuild kit. Because there are so many different types of vehicles out there, and because parts cost and the amount of parts damage is so unpredictable we ask all of our customers to allow us the time to do a free full diagnostics check to there vehicle. There is also a area on the website that says click here to see what is included in a master rebuild kit. It explains that there can be other items in the transmission that could be bad that are not included in a master over haul kit. We try to give all of our customers as much information as we can regarding repair cost so that no one is surprised by expensive unexpected repair bills. Some times we are unable to give an exact prediction of how long it will take to complete and repair like in this case where it took this customer 3 days to tell us to go ahead with the repairs. We have no way of knowing which customers are going to need time like this to figure out rather or not if they can have us do the repairs. I have a total of 11 bays with automotive lifts in each bay and most of the time all 11 lefts are full. Some of these lifts are full because we are waiting on the customer to make the decision on fixing their car. Meanwhile because we do NOT fix any customers vehicle without their authorization those lift become tied up and are unavailable for use until a decision is made. The reason for telling you about this is so that you will understand that it isnt always the shop owners fault that the repairs are not moving fast enough. All we can do is give a close prediction of completion.This customer asked me if I would stay late after hours so that he could pick up his car. I didnt have a problem doing that because I understand how tough things can be without having your car. I asked him how late he needed me to stay and thats when he told me that he didnt get off work until after 5:00pm and that he had to drive here from Plano. I still didnt have a problem with waiting. He showed up at around 8:15pm with his wife that kept us here until after 9:00pm. Our normal hours are 8am - 6pm Monday through Friday and we are closed on Saturday and Sunday. The reason we stayed here so late I feel is because he never told his wife until they showed up to pick up the car that he authorized the repairs and she wanted us to cut the price in half. We gave him the price amount to do the repairs prior doing the repairs. I dont mind helping someone out by staying late but I thought it was very rude of her to treat us the way she did. If anyone wants to check us out to see if we are honest and if we do all of the things that I am saying all they have to do is call us and check out what we say. You will know that we are honest and that we give as much information as any shop could give. For us or any other shop to give you an exact price for a repair on a engine or transmission without seeing the car would be the same as you calling a doctor and telling him that you dont feel good and you want him to tell you want is wrong with you and give you a price for what it is going to take to make you feel better. My sister in law bought a car here last week and the next day it started overheating. She called and told them they said they would look at it. But guess what they stopped answering the phone but wait theres more now shes blocked.So we are giving them another chance to make this right.

Had a bad experience with them i would not recommend them i had to bring my automobile back 3 times and they didnt even put it all back together they messed my kickdown cable up and my ac vacum hose so i still had to fix that to it just was a bad experience i will never go nack there and they say they give free towing but they never towed my car i had to bring it back three times and i paid towing everytime bad experience and it took them 3 trys just to fix my transmission and over a month

This will be fourth time they are going to have to mess with my transmission they are no good do not take your car are truck here

Bad experience I have a 2001 Chevy impala needed a engine for it an they sold me a Pontiac engine an said it came out the same car as mine which was not true I will not recommend any one to do any service with uncle bucks motor James talks a good game but I wasnt pleased because he lied about the engine he sold to me it was a waist of time driving from Lewisville to Arlington spent cash money to get bad service like I did an I will not deal with James or his team at uncle bucks motor again👇👇😠😡
