Used to go here but started doing my own haircuts cause they charged a ton. I tried to set up an appointment for a haircut but the owner was like “Nah, I ain’t gonna cut your Hair.” So I was asking to see if anyone else there could and he said “Nah”. The dude has something against me cause I stopped going or probably something else but I took it as well if I ain’t welcomed here I’ll go elsewhere. This review was just my experience, everyone else has their own but just wanted to get it out there.

I got my kids haircut here earlier today and immediately had to leave and go get their hair fixed at another place. I spent $55 on haircuts just to have to go drop another $40 to get them fixed. I am upset and will be calling the owner in the morning. My son’s hair was not even/blended out and you could see the cut lines. My daughters hair was even worse. The front was at least 2 inches shorter than the back there was one spot that never even got cut because it had an extra inch and a half longer than everything else in the back! The guy who cut it was really sweet and said he was capable of cutting my daughters hair but he butchered it. I would rather you tell me, no I don’t feel comfortable cutting her hair, then doing it and me having to spend more money going somewhere else and getting it fixed.

First time going there and the guy that cut my sons hair did not do a good job at all. I know cutting little kids hair is an extreme sport he looked like he didn’t want to do it and charged me 25 dollars for a child that is 4 year old and the hair cut wasn’t even all that. I had to cut the top to even it out when we got home.

(January 2021) Before I sat down, I asked how much for a mens haircut, the guy responds $25. I say great, Ill have that. Dude fumbles through the haircut like its his first time. As Im paying, guy tries to charge me $30, and that $25 is just for some people, $30 for some other people (a ridiculous answer and no other explanation)In other words, this clown tried to overcharge me ~35 minutes after he quoted me a price. I said nope, Im only paying $25 like you said. Had to argue before he agreed he was in the wrong.Never going back here again; bad at haircuts and worst with professionalism. Would not recommend to anyone. Even if you just need to shave your head, Id recommend another place

My biggest worried about moving to Texas from California was finding a good babber. I went too two different barber shop locations when I first move to Tx and it was the worst haircut and experience I have ever gotten, making me lose hope of trying to find a decent barber. Terrible place. Didnt get the haircut I wanted. Asked for a thick side fade but he cutted nearly everything. Charged me 40 after lowering my own hair (which he went from not too low to very low). Bad and lazy communication. Will cut my own hair next time.

Managed to book an appointment for my two boys pretty good job, though $55 for both of them was a little steep. Guess they charge the same no matter the age 🤷🏽‍♂️

I walked in they didn’t take my temp or anything and no one was wearing mask. The guy who cut my hair stop midway into my hair cut to use the bathroom and also answered his phone. I pay through card but they didn’t have a register or anything so he wanted me to send it to home through zelle. My hair cut looks honestly okay in the front but he did a terrible job in the back. I could’ve got this cut anywhere else for like 15 but he charged 30. Terrible and highly do not recommend this place.

I arrived at 817 Barbershop as a walk-in around noon on a weekday. The employees greeted me as I walked in. Since it wasnt busy, they told me that I could take a seat right away.The barber whose chair I sat at was named Bluz; he noticed that this was my first time visiting, so he gave me a rundown of the 817 Barbershop. I was pleased to learn that they are very community-focused.For example, they are currently collecting gently used shoes to donate to children in need during the upcoming holiday season. I was also invited to a potluck-style gathering the upcoming Wednesday before Thanksgiving hosted by the 817 Barbershop. Bluz also mentioned that even though the 817 Barbershop is closed on Sunday & Monday, I could still come in on either one of those days via appointment.I didnt leave Five-Stars because the only digital payment option I was offered was Zelle. I would have happily paid through Apple Pay, CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, and even a direct cryptocurrency wallet payment! Im simply not a fan of Zelle due to its limitations.Overall, I had a great experience. Bluz and the 817 Barbershop did a fantastic job at making me feel like I was recently adopted from an orphanage into a caring and welcoming family, haha!

This place is great. It was my first time getting a cut here today and Isabelle did an absolutely magnificent job. She had it pretty difficult because since I had been going to the same barber from a long time I had a hard time trying to explain exactly how I wanted it. But she gave some suggestions and ended up making my cut way better than I could have hoped for. I will definitely be returning again and I highly recommend Isabelle. I wish I could have found this place sooner.
