I had been fearing that I would need to replace ALL my windows (and spend something crazy like $6,000 or more!) but Chris told me they werent in too bad of shape, and we could replace the outer portions, and do some upkeep on the interiors (sanding/staining). Im very appreciative of his straightforward and honest approach. He did a fantastic job and didnt try to upsell me on anything. Im very satisfied with the job and happy to be letting the summer breeze back into my home!
In July of 2017, a public adjuster named Christopher Eaglin knocked on my door and stated that he and his crew were surveying houses and giving quotes for hail damage. He asked to check my roof and told me I had considerable damage and needed a new roof. Christopher Eaglin stated that he deals with Weather and Catastrophe Claims and works in the customers best interest to help them repair their roofs after receiving hail damage. EAGLIN stated that he is the owner of Christopher Ross Contracting (Locations; Madison Wisconsin, Arlington Heights IL), and stated that his company fixes roofs and helps customers with insurance claims. Thinking EAGLIN had our best interest in mind we hesitantly signed a contingency agreement with him in which we agreed to pay him 20% of our insurance claim and in which he was listed as one of the payees on the insurance proceeds. Looking back at it, I should have seen many red flags and not signed this document. After signing the document, EAGLIN turned from friendly to all business. EAGLIN was very sketchy about the contact between the homeowner and the insurance company. He wanted to be in charge of everything. The insurance adjuster came out and found hail damage but only offered $2000 in repairs. Over 20 other houses in our neighborhood were getting their roof fixed because of the hail storm so how could my house only have $2000 in damage. After receiving the adjusters decision, EAGLIN would not return my calls. I sent numerous messages to him with no response. To this day I cannot get a hold of him. I think EAGLIN just wanted a quick payout from the insurance and did not want to appeal the adjusters decision to help me get a new roof like all my other neighbors. EAGLIN is a predator and should be avoided at all costs. 1 year later we had another hail storm and this time I went with a known contractor in the area. No issues at all and I got a new roof, new gutters, new downspouts, and screens. EAGLIN did this to numerous homeowners in my area and is well known for his dishonesty. Dont fall prey to him. Good luck.
I contacted CRC because the inspector suggested we install a kick out flash to our home, which would help funnel water down the gutter instead of over the utility box. Chris, from CRC came out to our house to do the job, but after seeing it he told us a kick out flash wasn’t needed. He explained that the utility boxes are meant to be in outdoor conditions and water going over it will not harm anything. Instead of installing something we didn’t need he was honest with us, despite it costing him some business. I appreciate his honesty. Even better, Chris went on the roof and caulked some spot for us. What a great guy! I would def. recommend CRC and would use CRC for future business. He was prompt with responding my emails, answering my questions and was great to work with. Thanks!
