Matrix was a pleasure to work with during our Finished Basement project. From the initial consultation through the completion, we were able to easily communicate and collaborate. Our Project Manager, Ben, was easy to get a hold of, quick to resolve any questions or concerns we had throughout the project. All subcontractors were professional, friendly and easy to work with. We are absolutely thrilled with the final project. Our basement is now the highlight of our home with space for the whole family and guests. Matrix did a beautiful job remodeling our unfinished basement. I am more than pleased with the workmanship and the professionalism of all of the workers. From the beginning of the project through to the end, both the office personnel and the work crew attended to our questions and needs. The result is a living space more beautiful than I imagined. The only reason why I am giving a 1 star is because we had an awesome project manager. Everything else about the experience was TERRIBLE! They overcharge, the salesmen is like a car salesmen. They persist and do not give you time to even think about a decision. My husband told me this was a mistake and I should have listened. When my husband and I were initially going over the paperwork the salesman Nick stated the permit would be taken care of. Later on more then halfway thru the project he told us that we had to pay almost $1000 in permit fee which was not discussed initially, stating what he meant by matrix taking care of the permit meant they only apply for the permit not the fees. That should have been explained. They also finished the project a month late and expect the first installment payment 10 days after the final deposit was paid. They also would not provide a break down of charges when asked at signing and they contract all of their workers from electrical, to plumbing, and dry wall. 100% overcharged. Would not recommend. Definitely do your research and get more quotes before purchase.

I asked for a quote to finish a 450 square foot basement. Which included roughing in a small bathroom, a small bar and the rest all one room and was given a price of 80k (discount from original price of 90k. Salesman was here for 4 hours - way too long!! He called his supervisor about the price and said that didn’t seem right and he’d never want his family to pay that but had to jump into another meeting. Asked the sales person to check his figures. Sales person kept it at that number. $175 a square foot is outrageous!! Would not recommend!!

We had an excellent experience with Matrix when remodeling our basement. Ben G. was our project manager and helped make the process run smoothly. Ben, as well as all of Matrix’s contractors, were very professional. I was very impressed how they cleaned up at the end of every day and how easy it was to get a hold of someone (especially Ben) if a concern came up, even on the weekends. Most importantly, the finished product was amazing. I highly recommend using Matrix and their team of professionals to complete your basement. They are honest, professional, and all costs were explained up front before we signed the contract.

Installed a new garage floor with the flake and it is amazing. Great job by everyone involved. Mike was great at the first meeting when he sold us the product. We had originally had is scheduled a couple weeks out, and when I called to schedule sooner, they made it work. The crew showed up on Friday and finished on Saturday. They were all very informative during the installation by letting us know exactly what they were doing. Jake, Rob and Reece were great to work with and made everything look perfect. Jake even told me a couple of my neighbors came by and asked if they could look at their garages as well. I recommend them to anyone wanting to get this done. Salute.

My husband and I decided to remodel our basement to have a space to entertain family and friends comfortably. I researched quite a few companies but no one stood out more than Matrix Basement Systems so I have them a call back in May 2020 for an initial consultation, June 18th materials were being delivered to my home for the project. I wanted to make sure that I provided a review after my project was done as it was what helped me to make my decision to use Matrix.From concept to completion this team and when I say “team” I’m including David Shoemaker, Brian Dagenais, all of the contractors who were a part of this project and Victor Barron the Field Manager who took very good care of us in terms of being responsive and intuitive enough to make the right decisions at the right time. He went over and beyond and I appreciated him immensely. Every contractor that entered our home were timely, polite and professional. The BuilderTrend app helps customers to stay on top of schedules and timeframes as to when certain contractors are coming out to your home. Contractors definitely stayed true to timeframes which was a critical factor for me-they promised to be done in 8 weeks and they met that date!I would highly recommend Matrix Basement Systems to family, friends and future prospects who are considering a basement remodel. They definitely took some of the anxiety of doing such a project off the table. I’m extremely satisfied with the outcome. The photos attached shows the finished project - we are still deciding on colors to paint so its still a work in progress but even without the paint you see the quality and beauty of their craftmanship.

I have to admit things started off a bit rocky. Matrix had to reschedule our initial meeting a few times.. and when we finally had our first meeting, their sales tactic felt a bit aggressive. That said, working with Matrix has been insanely easy. Brian D provided us with great solutions to our layout issues, and our Project Manager Daniel was super responsive and knowledgeable. Even with all the projects he was managing, he always made us feel like we were on top of the list. Our team of subcontractors were all experts in their respective trades. Specifically, our carpenters, Oscar and Romero were amazing! Their attention to detail was impeccable. We are just a few days from completion, and I cannot wait to start furnishing our new living space. Thanks Matrix for making our vision come to life! Matrix might do splendid work but I will never know because they no showed twice. I was a little upset because I rearranged my schedule to meet with them and they didn’t even have the decency to call me. I called to find out if the person was running over an hour late that’s when they attempted to pacify me with a restaurant gift cards, which was useless….4 months go by and I saw another advertisement and I decided to give them another chance. Of course they DIDNT SHOW UP, but this time they did call. Then Ferdinand called again wanting to get my financial information to determine whether or not they should set up and appointment. Then Adam I think he said his name was, the manager, wanted to tell me why they wanted to screen us. No I don’t have a note so if I want to splurge on a basement thats my prerogative…. Yes you guys are unprofessional and no 60,000 was a little bit to much but I surely would have sanked 40-50,000 dollars in there and no I didn’t want your financing…definitely not a place I want to spend my money. I don’t even recall seeing them listed with the better business bureau.

Matrix is a great team to work with. They were very professional from Day-1 with the first meeting, detailing the project, understanding the requirements in detail, asking the correct questions and giving friendly suggestions etc. Once the work got started, Daniel Barron was our Field manager, having a vast network of resources, all worked as per schedule to finish the project on time. Daniel is very friendly and cool to work with. Finally, Matrix delivered the exact same basement, which we had in mind. They follow the City permit rules and make sure everything gets approved before handing over the finished project. I will surely recommend Matrix to my friends and contacts.

Overall the work was completed well. However 3 weeks after it was finished the fuse box melted when we turned on the AC. The electrician said the sub panel they installed was done correctly and the main box was older and would have to be completely replaced and I would be charged. When I talked to Matrix about the situation they said that because it was the main box and not the sub panel it was outside of the scope of work. My question that I wanted answered is if the box was that old why was it not originally brought to my attention with the scope of work to replace the fuse box with a new larger one to meet the power needs. Ive called many times and kept being told I would get a call back from upper management. However, during my last call I was told I would never hear from upper management because they just dont talk to customers...

Let me just start off with I know my basement needs a lot of work. At this point in time I was just starting to explore the options of redoing my basement, I wasn’t sure on the cost so I reached out to a couple of companies private and corporate places (like this one) to give me a price. I was not trying to commit to anything right now. I was thinking maybe a little later in the year(if anything). Steve showed up to my house and Everything was fine he measured and then we went over the plan. It would cost 33,000 to my basement. Okay that’s fine I said I’d think about it. Kept pressuring on and on to commit today and if I’m being honest my credit isn’t that great either. So the financing option isnt an option for us either. Steve kept going on and on about doing a credit check and I said no cause if it comes down to it I would rather just pay cash. As soon as I said that and it got through to him his whole demeanor changed all of sudden he wasn’t being nice to my son he was being quite rude(he was trying to talk to him) and he shooed him away. Then he says he’s going to leave then calls his manager to try to persuade us again. I just think their sales tactic is way to strong and I won’t be using them just based off that experience.

We found Matrix Basement Systems through a FB ad and decided to give them a try. They contacted us and set up our appointment with Nick, one of the sales guys. He arrived on time and listened to our ideas . He was very professional and the original mock up & quote took about 3 hrs. Nick showed us the potential of our basement via a really nice 3D software and we were overly impressed, we never expected to be able to do that much to our basement. They gave us a price, We were happy with everything and we put a deposit down. The entire staff was polite & professional in all our dealings throughout the process. They started on our basement in about 6 weeks from that initial sign date .Victor was our job manager and he was the best. He stayed on top of things, any questions or concerns we had he addressed them immediately. Very knowledgeable and professional guy. They had our entire remodel schedule on a cool app so we were able to know when electrical was scheduled, when HVAC was scheduled, etc. They moved pretty fast once the work got underway. Half way through we ran into a snag with our village permit which was totally our villages fault, so it hauled our job for about 3 weeks.... Again not Matrix fault. Once we got the permits from the Village they picked up where they left off and finished without incident. Final inspections from our city was also a headache but again not Matrix fault, Victor was extremely patient, calm and humbled with the city and I’m so grateful for that. We love love love love love our new basement Matrix exceeded our expectations 1000 times over. Price was more expensive than some other companies we got quotes from HOWEVER the level of workmanship, quality and knowledge that was provided was PRICELESS. They say you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend them and hope to work with them on future projects.

Had Matrix finish a small room in our basement. I was very happy with the digital plans and rendering. Also enjoyed using buildertrend portal for information and schedule. Also was happy with the materials (purple board, metal studs, and spray foam insulation) they used. I would recommend them.

Matrix Home Solutions completed my project on 8/26/20 ahead of schedule. The entire team was easy to work with, on schedule, and professional. Their quality of work, attention to detail, and making sure all of their workers were following CDC guidelines during this pandemic was a relief. Our basement was a poorly done DIY job by the past owners and as a result, it became more of a storage area than a living space. Matrix transformed the old basement into a new, warm and inviting living space that we know will become the favorite place for family and friends to gather. From start to finish, working with the Matrix team was a smooth and easy process. Our project manager, Ben, did an excellent job of keeping us informed every step of the way, answering our questions and making small adjustments to the plan on the fly. We had Matrix Basements finish our basement back in 2012. They were extremely professional throughout the process. I contacted Matrix this summer due to some water damage we noticed. Alex, the main point person was very professional and was great to work with. Alex and Marco came out to our house to investigate the issue. They were able to identify the cause of the issue which lead us to repairing our foundation. Alex followed up with me to see how we were doing and scheduled a follow up appointment to fix the walls that were damage. Alex and Marco were professional and detail oriented. We are very happy we went with Matrix Basements 8 years ago!

Matrix is the way to go, after researching different places doing basement finishing over the last two years i settled on Matrix as not only their flexible financing and specials attracted me but the attention they gave upon me reaching out. They worked tirelessly to work with me and my budget to make us feel comfortable moving forward. We chose them over the company that did most of the basements in our neighborhood. We also are incredibly satisfied with the work. They finished ahead of schedule and were very flexible with changes or customizations throughout the project. My wife and I have a basement with a low ceiling and an open truss system. Matrix came up with a very good plan for completing our basement and spraying the open trusses black. What a fantastic look. Daniel did an awesome job. It took over 14 gallons of paint. Matrix worked with us on all aspects of the job including allowing me to paint myself and put in the flooring to help save money. The team (which also included Anthony and Chris) worked with me and accommodated a number of changes. Overall, we couldnt be more pleased.

We are very pleased with our Matrix basement. It looks amazing with our open ceiling painted black and the LED can lights throughout. The entire 8 week process was very well organized with the help of our Project Manager Daniel. Every step of the way we were well informed and we knew what to expect with each trade who came in to do their work. The Builder Trend app was easy to use and we liked how we could check the schedule to see who was coming and also see the pictures of when the work was completed. We were especially pleased with the professionalism, attention to detail, and the quality of the work. The carpenters Rudy and Marz, the electrician Bobby and his partner, the painters, and Fred with the flooring did an outstanding job! All of this was possible because of the well thought out design done by Matt and the technical review done by Brian. We provided our input and any questions we had were answered. The work was done on time and completed with expertise. We highly recommend Matrix for any basement project you may have.

Matrix did a phenomenal job finishing our basement! The contractors were all amazing and cleaned up after themselves. The process to finalize the design and finishes was easy. I was pleasantly surprised that the work was finished exactly on the projected walk through date. The product might be great but correctly installing is an issue. Several areas where cracks began to appear at the wall joints. Also, found used supplies behind the wall, ie empty foam cans. Very disappointed for the money spent and having to repair with another expense.

They came out for a quote. Took measurements, drew us up a design and then scheduled a time for a follow up call. We requested to reschedule the call a day before due to a family situation. We never heard back. Their rep never e-mailed or called us back.

Beware HIGH pressure sales!!!!Okay.. I’m sure it’s a great company BUT the guy came to our house & stayed for FOUR hours and wouldn’t leave until we told him 10 times we weren’t making a 40,000 decision the same day. Then he magically dropped the price 10,000 if we made the decision while he was there. I felt like he was never going to leave. So people please just use a contractor no matter what they tell you. Because they will tell you ALOT but at the end of the day it’s just an overpriced company who I’m sure does a great job but why pay doubleFor something?!

Matt was awesome, he was the design consultant that listened to all of our ideas and helped us create the space. As well as review our budget and get us financed to complete our project. After reviewing some of our ideas and measuring the space, he had a floor plan drawn up in no time. After seeing how detailed and professional his drawing was and how knowledgeable he was, we were ready to move forward. Victor and Daniel were our 2 main construction guys. They did an incredible job from beginning to end. Professional and courteous at all times. Kept us in the loop, cleaned up daily, and just all around awesome. I honestly couldnt have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Matrix to anyone looking to finish their basement. 5 STARS all the way around.

Matrix basements were awesome! Each team that arrived were very nice and professional, they even went out of there way to make sure our job was done exactly how we wanted! Jesus and Victor are amazing! I high recommend this team! THANK YOU MATRIX!

When we decided to finish our basement, we wanted only the best contractor. We checked out a few contractors, but after hearing a Matrix radio ad, we first stopped by their showroom to review their unique materials and manufacturing process. We then visited an open house to see what the actual finished product would like. Not only did it look great and was waterproof and fireproof, it was also priced competitively. We decided to go with Matrix. Our basement was just completed in May of 2015 and we couldnt be happier. The work is high quality. Everyone we worked with on the job was conscientious and thorough. Our project leaders, Victor and Daniel, were fantastic. They always explained things very well and then when any construction decisions were to be made, they made sure the work was executed flawlessly. They coordinated everything regarding plumbing, electrical, permits, etc. They are simply the best. Our kids and our friends love our new basement. It really looks gorgeous and we highly recommend Matrix.

The process from start to finish was seamless. Brian W. (project manager) was awesome. His attention to detail and his vision really came to life at the end of the project. We give high praise to Victor and Daniel (carpenters) for all their hard work in our 18 week project. Not only was their work clean and impeccable, they were incredibly kind and respectful. The personnel assigned to our project were very accessible and kept us up to date every step of the way. I would highly recommend this company for your future basement project!

Very unhappy with Matrix and their customer service along with their work. I been trying to get ahold of someone to come and repair a wall.I yet have not heard back from them. It’s been over a week and multiple calls and emails.

Highly recommended, great service, knowledgeable workers and sales crew that are very accommodating to your needs! Basement project was done on time with few delays or issues. The project would have gone no where if not for the qualified expertise, professionalism, and motivation of Jay Salazar. Ben and Rudy did a great job of framing out the basement, as Anthony Jarka kept the project on track and running professionally. Victorian Designs Painting did an excellent job on the paint as did Frank and his crew with the electrical. All in all, great experience and highly recommended! Thanks Matrix!

I would not recommend this company at all. They are extremely overpriced and shoddy work We had our basement done and am not happy at all. A day or so after they got done most of the walls had both horizontal and vertical cracks in it and several baseboards werent nailed properly to the wall.They came and fixed the walls but not the baseboards. Some more cracks appeared over the next year and a half or so. When I called to have them come out and fix it, I never got any call back. Things got busy and I called several months later, with still no call back. After 90 minutes on the phone I was finally transferred and spoke with a manager and he first said that we were out of our warranty, without even looking at our paperwork and refused to send someone out to fix the problems. He then called back and promised to send his guy out to fix all the problems we had. The guy was suppose to come out on 2 different days and never showed up. Now the manager will not pick up my phone calls nor return my messages. There was also a problem with the electrical work they did. They electrician that came out said they did not do a good job on the electrical work and it was very lazy work that got done. Again I warn against using this company for anything.

This company left dents on my new walls and did not follow the design drawings in which I provided my feedback for. The representatives are rude when contacted and are not willing to follow commitments. Do yourself a favor and stay away from doing business with Matrix! They overcharge for their services and leave a bad taste in your mouth when theyre done with their job.

Matt and Nick came by on relatively short notice and spent a lot of time with my wife and I going over designs on first visit. The suggestions were fantastic and their portfolio is impressive. They have some great solutions for dealing with water, and they went over everything in very good detail.On top of all that, they were very easy to talk to and work with. They werent very pushy and worked with us on financing. I highly recommend Matrix for your basement finishing needs.

Matrix was overall great! They finished their part of the basement very quickly and did a nice job. I was worried it wouldnt get done before summer was over and they finished their portion(which was mainly everything except paint, flooring, and ceiling) in about 1 1/2 months! Nice job!

My husband and I contacted Matrix for a free estimate.They came over and helped us design the perfect addition to our home. We wanted an additional bedroom, bathroom and entertaining space, Matrix managed to make it fit our budget. We are happy with the results and are enjoying our new basement. My husband was out of town for a week and will come on our wedding anniversary day. So, I decided to change my basement bedroom design with some classic romantic theme that will make my anniversary night romantic and will never forget.I called many basement remodeling services but only Matrix Basement agreed for changing my basement bedroom theme in 5 days only. Matrix was so easy to work with. They came to our house to provide an estimate. They started working shortly after that and were very professional. Everything was done well. I am so glad we chose them and would highly recommend to anyone!

Do NOT use this company!! Just got off the phone with Brett and he refused to give me a quote for my basement because my husband wouldnt be present. I am shocked! This is 2020; I am pretty sure I can make decisions for my household!

The Matrix team finished our basement for us and their service was excellent. From the first consultation to the final inspection, they were professional and timely. We were given advance notice of every step to the process, and it was clear that they value us as a customer. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to finish or remodel your basement!

We hired Matrix to finish half of our basement to serve as an extra media/entertainment hub in the house, as well as an additional gathering space for large groups of people. The process, start to finish, was great. Our lead carpenter, Don, was very attentive to our needs/wants, as well as to the details of the project. His team was prompt, respectful, hard working, and friendly. There are so many parts of the basement we love, from the open floor plan, to the quality products and craftsmanship, to the dry bar we added on a whim, at the last second (this didnt throw the team at all, they heard everything the we were hoping for, and made it into reality). I would highly recommend Matrix to friends and family, and in fact, already have several times over.

Wonderful company to work with, very professional and great work

Scheduled an appointment with Mike for a project estimate at 10am on Friday. Received a message from Adam at 5pm requesting I call him that night to answer a question or I would have to reschedule if I wanted an estimate. Since I had plans that did not involve being attached to my phone, I received the message very late the night before my appointment. Needless to say, they didnt call back in the morning and indeed were a no show. Sorry, not how I roll. Its an estimate, ask me the question when you are scheduled to arrive. Very easy to schedule with a different company.
