I applied for a position that they posted. Kayla replied back and asked for a resume, which I provided. Then she asked for skills and experience, which I told her that I have provided the skills in the resume. As for the experience, I explained to her that I dont have any experience yet in the position that I applied for since I havent been given an opportunity to utilize my skills yet. Weve got to start somewhere, right? Last I heard from her was Tuesday. It is now Friday/Saturday. She has yet to respond since then. Dont use these people, whether you are a job seeker or an employer. They dont seem to be competent and/or professional. They dont seem to follow up and through with me very well, and based on reviews Ive just read, they dont with others too. Im trying to find a role in my field, but they make it much more difficult. I did work with them before and got a 2 day project, but I am looking for something long term and full time in the field that I went to school for. You would be better off taking your chances applying directly with the employers, instead of using a place like TekSystems.
Very disrespectful comments from an employee.
Even as a last resort, I would never recommend working with TEK Systems. There is a constant revolving door of recruiters that take poor notes, are pushy, and dont seem to take the time to understand your career goals and provide industry advice/feedback. The one interview they lined up for me ended up being completely off the mark - I had no business interviewing for that position. It wasted my time, the employers time, and made me and TEK Systems look bad. Between LinkedIn and Indeed, you should never have a problem finding an available position in the IT field.
Appleton Branch: would never recommend...
I have worked with TEKsystems at other locations and for the most part have been impressed, but this local office could use some better execution in their overall organization and professional practices.Staff is friendly for the most part, but rather inattentive. In working with several individuals within this location, there is a lot of talking the talk, but no walking the walk. Several different times I had contracts to start with clients of TEKsystems and each time, I was going to my first day blindly - not knowing the address (I assumed same location as interview), not knowing the start time and not knowing who to ask for. Typically for the latter, I would ask for who I interviewed with, but I found out that the person has since been reassigned or left the company, so I was left in the dark. Very disorganized. Also, a good technical recruiter would have worked in the industry, knowing certain terminology and being able to understand and relate to the requirements better. In several conversations with different recruiters, I could tell they had no clue what their client needed and were merely relaying similar verbiage.Additionally, the benefits are typical of a staffing company, but pale in comparison to their competitors who offer paid holidays, PTO, salary options and even a reduced compensation while on bench time - all without having to take a reduction in your hourly earnings to make this work.Interestingly enough, most companies work through multiple staffing agencies to fill the same position. More than likely, you can find the same role through their competitors with better benefits.
TEKsystems has both placed me and has provided resources to the teams that I have managed. They are timely, professional, personable, and well connected. Always a pleasure doing business with them. Thank you Nate, Brian, and Jason!
Tek Systems has now placed me at three consecutive and successful positions. They do a good job keeping in touch and on the lookout for your next opportunity and I regularly recommend them. However they are the only contracting company I have worked with directly. Do some research before you go to a contractor, know what your worth and what you want to do and where you want to do it. The more you know the better Tek will be able to place you.
I was hired back in 06 to work in Kimberly Clark as a contractor for the IT department, but pay was super low $11/hour for IT? that that was with with a lot of taking, initially they were trying to make me work for $10/h. anyway. i had no benefits, they gave me a package for some providers to go and get health insurance so i was pretty much on my own there. and there is no vacation time until you finish your first year however the contract is only for 1 year so what is wrong here? forget about vacation. KC environment was horrible, they monitored you to be on the phone at all times and you could not be away much. i could not even move my legs side to side, my desk was big enough for my keyboard and mouse. and i did not have any access to the amenities there. I only could stayed there for 9 months and i had it. i quit without a job but it was so worth it. I dont even want to hear the word teksystems.
Theyre attempting to move from an IT-only focus to include marketing professional placement. As a copywriter, they didnt do a helluva lot for me, sorta dropped off the face of the earth, but thats typical of staffing places ... they invest about a month in you and thats it.
Had an interview there once, lady interviewer was super rude and inconsiderate. Dont remember her name and dont care to!!!!
