I would not recommend this place to anyone. Even if they do absolutely nothing they will find a way to take as much of your money as possible. On 9/8/2021 at 9:16 a.m. I called and spoke with an employee at Christensen Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. to inquire on the cost of diagnosing a furnace that didnt seem to be heating right. I was told the cost would be a $79 service call fee which seemed reasonable so I scheduled the appointment. At no time did anyone mention the extra $125 an hour that they secretly add on to your bill. The employee showed up on 9/16/2021 at 11:21 a.m., spent about 5 minutes in my basement, turned on the gas to my furnace, and told me there was nothing wrong with my furnace and its totally fine. He spent the rest of his time looking at my pets, petting my dog, and writing up a bill. He charged me $148.58. He left at 11:43 a.m. This was not what I was quoted on the phone and I was confused as to why the price that I was quoted had nearly doubled, especially considering there was nothing wrong with my furnace, nothing fixed, no labor completed other than the diagnostics, and the employee was in and out within 20 minutes based on my timestamped security camera footage. At 2:35 p.m. I called the business and asked about the additional $62.50 that was added on to my bill. The employee said that adding an extra $125 an hour on to the bill is standard practice and she was unsure why no one had told me that I would be charged extra. Not only is it unethical to add on hidden fees, I also believe it is illegal. Had I known this extra fee was being added I would not have allowed the employee to spent 10 minutes petting my dog and looking at my pets because he charged me for that! This place is absolutely terrible, very unethical and they should be ashamed of themselves. I urge you to use a different company because this one is terrible.

I called and asked for a specific duct work design to be done so I could use it as a laundry shoot. They gave me the email to send my idea over. They had it made in less than a week and ready for pick up. They made sure it was to my liking and price was reasonable. I thought it was expensive but I asked my friend who works in HVAC and they said it was totally accurate for what I wanted. They were quick, respectful and made exactly what I was looking for! I will definitely use their service again in the future.

Christensen Heating and Cooling put in our air conditioning units about 15 years ago when the previous owners lived here. Our home is 1910 and never had air before then. After living here for 4 years, we called to have them clean and service the machines; we have 2 units, 1 to cool the upstairs and 1 for the main floor. We initially had some mishaps with a couple of the service professionals. Then Andy came to the house and made things right!! He did a fantastic job! The owner Mike came to our house today to address the mishaps and we are beyond pleased with his professionalism and response to o the issues. He’s owned the company for over 30 years and that just doesn’t happen without the proper management of your business! Thank you Mike and Andy for all you have done for us! Looking forward to a continued relationship!

Excellent customer service! Our furnace technician came quickly within just a few hours of my placing a call for service. He was very professional, reassuring, very knowledgeable and quickly retrieved the filter that got sucked into the furnace(we either waited too long to change or it was the wrong size) and performed a furnace tune-up afterwards at a VERY reasonable price. We will not use this company again.They were scheduled for Friday morning, showed up the Wednesday before waking us up and catching us off guard.The problem was a simple noise issue, ended up being up sold items that were totally unnecessary.What should have been a simple $79 service fee ended up being over $250.

We were so pleased with the work they did at our home. We purchased a furnace and central air conditioning unit. They got us the best price and they did an amazing job installing it. They even took our old units and our old central air unit was under our deck. They removed that even though it was a hassle. Highly recommend them!!

We bought our furnace from them 2 years ago and got our first tune up today on it. The tech came out on time and was really nice. Afterwards, few hours later, i thought something was going on with the AC for some reason and the tech called and said he could be back in 15 minutes, rechecked everything at no cost and was really nice about the whole thing. Nothing ended up being wrong, it was just me. Can’t say enough how great this company’s service is!

I have been using Christensen Heating & Cooling for 5 or 6 years and it has always been a great experience. My air conditioner was a victim in the latest heatwave and they were able to service it within 24 hours. Cal, the tech, was quick and honest. They are a multi-generation company in the Fox Valley and I really appreciate their breadth of knowledge.

Had a blown curcuit, cost $20 at menards. they charged $80 to plug it in and $350 for the breaker. took less then 5 min. took advantage of me and my family. Now Im building a new house and guess whos not wiring it... Cost $389 for a $20 part and about 1 min labor.

We had a replacement system installed due to our existing being an extremely loud builders model. We dont even hear the new one running at all. We also added a/c and couldnt be happier with the way the installation turned out, we have a split level and each part of the home is comfortable all year round. The crew was pleasant and tidy. The work was seamless. Thank you Christensen Heating & A/C for making our home comfortable.

Had a problem, they came right over and fixed it. Didnt have the part on hand but they had a guy go get it and bring it over. Fast and reasonable. I have them do all my work and definitely will continue to do so.

This company was easy to get a hold of and set up an appointment for a quote. However, they no showed the appointment window plus an hour of waiting. They also failed to call to let me know they would not make the appointment or that they needed to reschedule. Needless to say they will not get my business for replacing my HVAC system.

Emergency line answerer is completely rude, manager is even more rude, very unhelpful all they kept saying is they can’t help me in my situation. Manager sounds like she knows absolutely nothing about business, and doesn’t know how to problem solve. Instead of saying I can’t help you start saying I can’t do that but what I can do... before you have a paying customer pissed off. Staff was arrogant and rude. Highly do not recommend.

My A/C unit broke. I had called a different local business first but they didnt get back to me soon enough and I wanted someone to come same day to take a look at the unit. I called Christensen and a service technician was at my house to look at the unit that same afternoon.After reviewing the options and projected costs, it made more economical sense to get a new unit. Jeff came over the next day to provide an estimate and review pros and cons of several units. They were also available to install only a couple days later despite it being a busy season. I called a 2nd local business to get a 2nd estimate and their verbal estimates were just in line with Christensen, but were not able to even come for a formal estimate until a week later!The 2 service techs arrived promptly by 8am and had the new unit installed in just over 2 hours. They were very polite and professional and explained exactly what was done. I would absolutely use this business again for any A/C or future heating needs.

Great experience everytime we need them. The are quick when you have issues, like my furnace not working in the middle of winter, or just general Q&A about getting better air flow. The owner, Mike, will gladly stop over to walk you through your furnace and how to use it. The prices are reasonable and never trying to upsell you to the latest and greatest, unless needed!

Cal took his time on a repair and tune up. Appointment was quick to setup and the 30 minute service call allowed me to get home as needed.
