My partner and I booked one of these fabulous vans to allow us the flexibility in our schedule. I was visiting Alaska for the first time for my 50th birthday and AK was my 50th state #50by50. The van and company far exceeded our expectations and I would rent with them again in a heartbeat. From the initial booking, to the communication prior to departure, to the guided tour in person of the van and lastly the final drop off our experience was top notch. The van itself was well equipped, impeccably clean and surprisingly economically on gas. We loved how we could pop to the store and park in a regular parking spot at a moment’s notice. So minor things I would change to make the van a little better. The interior curtains to try and block the 22 hours of sunlight could be a little longer and have way to fasten them at the gaps. The mattress pad could have been a little more plush and would have prevented us from having to purchase additional sleeping pads. Lastly although probably not possible, easier access to the storage space within the van.Overall we could not speak more highly of our experience with Get Lost Travel Vans. This was absolutely one of the best decisions we made to make this monumental trip even more memorable. If you find yourself in AK, and if you haven’t been yet you should, then please consider renting from this company, you will not regret it.
Had a great experience renting and traveling with a Get Lost Travel Van. We originally booked for 2020, and had no problems changing dates to 2021. Our van was clean, well stocked, and comfortable for the four of us and all our stuff. Although we had almost perfect weather for our trip, knowing that we had an inside table available, should we need it was great. The van got better gas mileage than we would have expected, especially since it was loaded with so many extras. We had plenty of charging ports, and places to store our things. Everyone appreciated the power inverter and access to charge devices anywhere. The water and sink were a camping bonus that we were not used to in our years of tent camping around the United States. The refrigerator held more than we expected it to, keeping us from too many trips to the store. My only suggestion, is that you are traveling with more than two people, you will. probably need a bigger. cooking pot. With two boys aged 16 and 21, we sometimes had to find different ways to cook the amounts of foods they. consumed. But it was a great way to see Alaska!
The travel van is a great way to explore Alaska since it is self reliant, small (in comparison to an RV), and inconspicuous. The Get Lost travel vans specifically, are designed well, run great, and are provided in the cleanest condition. The company also offers bear spray when available left by other renters and a nice selection of take one, leave one items. The company and staff were very informative and friendly. Heidi made sure we were well prepared for our trip. My travel partner and I were very pleased with Get Lost Travel Vans.
Absolutely breathtaking! Our trip to Alaska has been our favorite place thus far in the U.S to travel. We are so very pleased with Get Lost Travel Vans from the moment of booking the vehicle, ALL the in between travels, up to the very last moment of return. Reliable & efficient, this van traveled about 1,500 miles in just 10 days! We are so very pleased that it came equipped with a stove, water/sink, fridge and bedding! Perfect for a couple (like us) or a small family. We give this company 5 stars! WHEN we come back, well defiantly be renting from Get Lost Travel Vans again!
Get Lost Travel Vans was the best decision Ive made for a road trip vacation. A buddy of mine came to Alaska for a first time visit and wasnt sure what he wanted to do. With no travel plans or specific itinerary in mind, I turned to Get Lost Travel Vans. With the abundance of campgrounds Alaska has to offer and the neverending highway our van was exactly what we needed. The Van came with everything we needed for a camping road trip, from kitchen supplies to bedding. The only thing we had to provide was an occasional fill up at the gas station, food, and imagination. Get Lost made our trip as easy as possible. With everything we needed right in our van we didnt have to plan where we were going to stay or what time we needed to leave. Because of the decision to rent the van we ended up in the White Mountains camping under the northern lights, sitting around a fire in Denali National Park, and kicking back at Byers Lake. The van itself was designed beautifully. With the kitchen set up in the back it was easy to get what we needed to snack on, cook, or use the sink without letting bugs get into the sleeping area. Also with the push of a button to close the lift gate all of our food stayed safe and was contained from attracting unwanted wildlife. The inside cabin was great for the days it was snowing or raining. (We had both). We sat inside the van, spread out, listing to music, while playing cards on the table waiting on the weather to turn for another hike. Once it was time for bed the table breaks down to a full size bed and the roof pops up with a full size tent. My buddy and I are both over 6 feet tall and neither of us had any problems stretching out for a good night sleep. I slept in the van where I was warm on the cool nights with the cozy bedding that was provided and cool on the warn nights by opening the windows and covering them with the mosquito nets to keep the bugs out. My buddy stayed in the roof tent so I cant attest to how that was but he had no complaints. The size of the van is what also makes it worth it. Its big enough to sleep in and enjoy, but yet small enough where you can fit down off highway roads to get to backcountry campsites and not have to sleep in RV campgrounds every night. Not to mention its easy to get around in the cities and you dont have to park miles away from buildings because you dont fit anywhere. Our overall experience was 5 stars. Not sure what I loved the most about their company but they definitely hit the hat trick. Between their awesome Vans, their low prices, and their great costumer service and attitude Im so glad I found Get Lost Travel Vans and after it was over was left feeling very satisfied with my decision. My buddy loved his first trip to Alaska because he was able to experience it by immerseing himself in its beauty not by observing it from hotels ands overlooks. Get Lost Travel Vans made that possible and I will be renting from them every time someone comes to visit in the future from now on. I suggest you do the same.
A great ally in the war on boredom. They set you up with everything needed to take on the great outdoors! They are well informed, get you well prepared and the vans are well equipped. What are you waiting for? Book your excursion before they run out of their custom built vans that make camping a pleasure!
Great service, super friendly owners, smooth booking and pick-up/drop-off process. We’ve rented a few other camper vans from other companies previously and found the Get Lost vans particularly well equipped (power outlets throughout the van, lots of storage space,…). Also a bonus to have no additional mileage fees. We highly recommend traveling in a camper van and doing it with this company!
We rented one of the standard Dodge Grand Caravan vans. The van was extremely clean and very new (~60k miles). It came equipped with a very comfortable interior bed which took around ~5 minutes or so to set up, bedding, a ton of interior storage inside the bench seat, and a fully-equipped kitchen with a coleman stove, a 9-gallon tank for fresh water, a sink, cooking supplies (pot, pan, tea kettle, cutting board, knives, doilies, dish towels, and soap) and dishware (four plates, cups, mugs, spoons, forks, knives, and bowls). We didnt use the roof nest, but the interior of the van was comfortable for us. The pick-up and drop-off process was fast and efficient, and the folks at Get Lost were kind and easy to work with. Overall, a great experience for us, as we toured Homer, Seward / Kenai Fijords, and Denali. Id suggest bringing an extra blanket or two, especially if you come in August, as temperatures (in Denali, particularly) can drop below freezing.
Britta is amazing! She owns this fantastic establishment and she is one of the most customer service oriented business owners I have ever met. From booking to the van orientation, she was attentive and patient. We have rented one of their converted Dodge vans and I will update this review after our trip. The vehicle is impressive and fully equipped...perfect for up to four people with everything needed for a fantastic RV experience without the RV.
We loved “getting lost” with our sweet travel van! The kitchen set up was easy to use, the sleeping areas were easy to set up, and it was nice to drive in something smaller than an RV. The people at Get Lost are fantastic and helpful.
Renting with Get Lost Travel Vans was a fantastic experience. Alaska is a gorgeous state, and incredibly well suited for travel by campervan. I went with my wife and 20 month old son, and we all loved it. There are lots of reasons to visit Alaska, and lots of reasons to see the state from the comfort of a campervan, but Ill assume that if youre reading this review youre already convinced of that. Instead Ill focus on why you should choose Get Lost Travel Vans:Everything about the process was incredibly simple. Picking up was quick, driving it was easy, setting up camp was painless, and I never had to think about tricky (or gross) things like using generators or emptying sewage. Alaska has publicly available facilities everywhere, so I never felt the lack of bathroom/shower. I was just glad to not have to think about that stuff. Its super easy to get around and see things in a minivan. Park in small spaces, pop into stores, only pay for tent fees at campgrounds instead of more expensive RV parking. And its plenty roomy. Im a large guy but had no problem sleeping with all three of us in the van bed. I also slept one night by myself in the top tent which was comfortable too.Lastly, everyone at the company was extremely thoughtful and a pleasure to deal with. The van was totally clean and ready to go when we arrived, and we were on the road within 15 minutes with lots of helpful tips and advice. They keep a give and take section of free supplies which was a great touch. We grabbed a few things like bug spray, bear spray, a rain poncho, and some cans of soup that other people had bought on their trips but not used. This easily saved us $75 on things we would have otherwise needed to buy for our trip.
Great company. They give you all you need for your vacation. Lodging and rental car in one. The beds were comfortable but I did make some adjustments to make sure i was super comfortable. The “kitchen” area is amazing. The details are well thought through. They were super helpful and walking me through the details.
We had an awesome trip in Alaska! The van was very comfortable for our family of 4. We cooked outside using the stove that swings out from the back of the van. The bed inside was great for my wife and I. The roof top bed was great for our boys - it has the best views! We will definitely be coming back and renting a van from these guys again!
Our experience with Get Lost Travel Vans was amazing! The process was very clear and straightforward, the prices were clear with no hidden fees, and the van was very well stocked with everything that you would reasonably need to make the most of your stay.
The Get Lost vans are a miracle of organization! If there are only two of you traveling, you can set up the table in the backseat and not take it down during your entire trip. There is plenty of underseat storage for all your personal items.I am a 76 YO overweight female traveling alone. I struggled just a bit putting the tent down when it was time to move camp, but if your build is just an iota stronger and taller than mine you wont have a bit of trouble. Sleeping atop is great! The folks at Get Lost want you to have a good time on your trip and will do everything possible to make sure it is.Dont hesitate to rent a Get Lost van.
We had a great experience with Get Lost Travel Vans. The van was clean and well equipped, and made a pleasant (if small) home away from home for the week of our vacation around the Kenai Peninsula. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and made the check-out/in process pleasant.
Brita was awesome and very helpful with explaining the many functions of the van and where to go in Alaska! I highly recommend Get Lost Vans!
Thanks again for a great vacation. The van was fully kitted out with everything we needed and made our week-long trip a breeze. Having total flexibility with our schedule allowed us to follow our whims, take different routes than we’d originally planned and even jump aboard the Valdez to Whittier ferry. We’re van fans and would highly recommend Get Lost Travel Vans to anyone with a sense of travel adventure. What a great way to see Alaska.BK and S
My wife and I and our two kids aged 15 and 11 used one of the Get Lost camper vans to travel from anchorage down to Girdwood and then back up to Denali. The van was perfect, exactly what we needed. You can see that it was engineered by someone who actually uses it. There were many small details included that we didn’t even think of until we saw them and then realized it was a nice touch 😉 Would definitely recommend this mode of travel for families wanting to camp but not use a tent
We spent ten incredible days on board of our camper van, that was our home in Alaska. Its easy to drive through the beauty of this amazing place in the world, and then, at night stay inside our little home. It was comfortable and warm inside to sleep and rest to get energy for the next adventurous day. Very convenient when you dont even need RV parking but only tent site. We two were so sad to get our car back in Anchorage and say goodbye to the landscapes through the windows, the hot chocolate just prepared at the rear kitchen in the morning...It has been truly amazing discovering Alaska for the first time, we are really looking forward to come again to get lost in travel !!!!!!!
We just rented our second van of the summer and were once again fully impressed with what we got. Our family of 4 and all our camping gear fit easily into the van. It was easy to maneuver and drive. The beds were comfortable, the stove and pop up tent were all very easy to use. The staff was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to accommodate us. I highly recommend Get Lost Travel Vans!
A new start up rental company with great customer service, vans, and reasonable pricing. We booked last minute in the busy season and were still able to snag a van for 5 days. We put it through the ringer, driving around 1.1k miles from Denali to Homer with 0 problems. The set up and provided kit are excellent. I would recommend the good folks at Get Lost, as the pricing and ease of booking just cant be beat in such a crowded market.
We rented this van for our 9 day Alaskan adventure and it was perfect! The van was super clean, filled with so many helpful gadgets - fridge, stove and plenty of storage and USB ports. The company was wonderful to work with - I would recommend them to anyone looking to up their camping game.
We had the best experience with Get Lost Travel Vans. Comfortable, easy to use, great millage, and wonderful customer service. We will used them again for future adventures.
Wow what a great Van. Perfect for cruising the Alaska highways and staying at the campgrounds. Small size WAY easier to manage than a full RV. The kitchen set up in the rear is so creative and compact. My family of 4 really enjoyed camping on the Homer Spit!
Really enjoyed the experience travelling in our Get Lost travel camper. We did a return trip from Anchorage to Fairbanks and the camper was perfect in every respect. Highly recommend the Richardson/Glennallen highway for the return journey the scenery is truly amazing.
Very very well organised company, totally freindly owners and just perfectly equipped vans. We loved it!!
Very nice and convenient. Easy ride for those who do not want to brave a full sized RV. Has a sink and campstove. The curtains in the van could be a little better not true blackout. The roofnest is a little more comfortable for taller people. Staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend them.
Great vans very versatile..
