Susie was absolutely incredible! She made sure we were very well educated on the four C’s of diamonds and took the time to get to personally know us as well as asking a lot of questions to make sure we were looking at the right rings for us. Would recommend 100%

The new staff and manager are amazing! The manager Salina is much more friendly and is always willing to go the extra mile when helping me shop or even inspecting my jewelry. I’m glad the staff changed and I will now be returning back to this location for all my jewelry purchases.
If your working on a budget and want the best customer service ask for Peggy!! Peggy is a life saver, she found my fiancees ring size (size13) last minute, without having to special order it. The store is clean the lighting could be better, but over all a great store. Peggy was there for us from start to finish. Thank you again Peggy your a rock star!! Ill keep going to this store because of Peggy.
Lived in Iowa for 2 years now, & this Kay jewelers has been the best store I’ve visited. Very friendly, & a HUGE help! My husband has purchased my bridal set, my opal ring, our daughters 1st diamond necklace, & of course my Ever Us ring from this store. Always great people to talk to & always helpful. Definitely my favorite Kay’s Store by far. Check them out if you haven’t yet 😉
I love stopping by to look at the jewelry and the sales staff are so nice. One of the staff members named Marky showed me cute jewelry and cleaned my two favorite rings!
We purchased our wedding rings here. Everytime my wife goes to have her ring cleaned for warranty they harass you to death trying to sell you something or get you to make appointments to some sale they are having. Even call and leave messages on my phone. If I am with her they try to guilt me into buying something with comments likeyou cant put a price on love and ect. I refuse to go in the store when we go. We like our rings but wish we would have purchased somewhere else.
I don’t do reviews on google a lot but ask for Marky when you come here, very good customer service!I was walking by one day and asked if I can get my ring size, Marky gladly measured it for me and even offered me to clean my wedding band for free. I definitely recommend this place!
I asked if they could re-size my watch bracelet. The lady asked me whether or not I bought it from them, which shouldnt matter. She then told me they didnt have the tools to re-size my particular watch. It was a normal folded link bracelet that only requires a hammer and pin pusher. How can you sell watches and not know how to re-size a standard watch bracelet?
Wanted a repair for my IWC watch. The employee took the watch and said he would open and change the battery. I asked to get my watch back and left before the damage could be done to my high-end precision mechanical watch.
Ive called Kays Jewelers numerous times to ask about a ring I found at their store. They didnt return my call after 4 different times I called them. The last time I called them they finally found someone for me to talk to and she said they had no records of the ring I found even though I saw them write it in their book. Glad I went to a local Jewelry shop where they helped me find a beautiful ring and didnt give me the run around. Probably wont shop at Kays again.

I needed the perfect earrings for my daughters wedding in 5 days! I had been looking for weeks. The earrings at Kays I saw needed to be slightly tweaked and the sales woman was very helpful in every way to meet my wishes. I left totally satisfied.
When my fiance and I started looking at rings we started at Kays in Ames. They helped us then and continued to help my fiance through the designing process for my custom ring. My ring is better than I could have ever imagined! I would definitely recommend Kay Jewelers in Ames!

I was immediately lied to while i was there. Gave them a budget and was told they ONLY have rings between 1500 and 10,000. Yet we managed to find rings for 1000. The 2 managers working were pushy and only showed my fiance the most expensive rings. The gentleman working was just as confused as I was. Lots of sitting by myself while i was trying to look at rings because the 2 woman kept leaving and telling the man to do other things. Overall it was not a good experience and i will not be returning.
Purchased a ring here with a care package that came with 2 professional cleanings a year.1st time it was fine and they sent in the ring.The 2nd time we went one of the employees said he could add my wifes name to my credit card without it having any impact on credit.(this was a total lie but he just sounded so sure about it I believed him)3rd time I went was to get this professional cleaning but the two employees working were too busy flirting with a few guys that werent even buying anything. I left after about 15 minutes of just standing around waiting.4th time - I stopped by again and they said the package I purchased doesnt exist and they only send in rings for loose stones.Maybe this location just isnt a good one but now I drive 45 minutes to Des Moines.

First of all let me say I went in to have some engraving done on a bracelet and the took down my info and on the order info I specifically asked for all CAPITALS....One week later i was called and asked for my info again because they losted the paperwork. So I told them the information again and explained make sure they are in capitals and the lady said they would make sure and that my order would still be ready for pick up on 1/10/2015. So to be on the safe side i called to ask if my order was ready and they said give me a minute and i will check i said ok.... but thats not the worse part I live in Boone Iowa which is 25 Minutes to 30 minutes away from Kays Location depending on which way i take. lets just say that 1 and a half hours laters i was still on hold and had the time to drive to the location while still being on hold.. I am still very irrate til this day!!!!! and as i got there there was one guy helping a customer and took the time to greet me very nice gentlemen... he explained someone would be right with me and 2 minutes later while still holding on the phone someone came out of the back and ask if they could help me and i said yes but first of all i wanted to show you i have been on hold for almost 2 hours at that time and she said im sorry we were busy and forgot about you and what is the worse part of all there were 7 people working and not one of them could have tookin the time to check for me while i was on hold instead they gave their attention to the other customers and to top it off people went to lunch while i was on hold what kind of customer service is that......and them the lady explains that she is sorry again and that my bracelet is ready....I recieved the Bracelet back and not only was i mad about the customer service the bracelet was not done the was i wanted it i wanted all capitals and i didnt even get that only the first letter was capitalized and all the others were lower case...... and i had explained that it was not correct and she said we can send it it again and have it redone i said then i have to wait longer for it and its a gift and i asked i would have to pay again for it right and she said yes.....first of all why would i have to repay if you guys are the ones that messed up and she said im sorry about that... really poor customer service very poor and not only that i felt bad for the gentlemen that was doing all he could to help while 6 people took a break and left him alone...
Do NOT go to kays. they have had horrible customer service and when i ended up with cancer a few years back and was late getting my diamond necklace in for for its 6 month inspection (due to being in the hospital) . My diamond in my necklace ended up getting cracked so because i was late bringing my necklace in (due to having cancer and being in the hospital) they would no longer keep my necklace under warranty. My husband and i have spent thousands of dollars there and never will go there again. KINDLESS, HEARTLESS COMPANY WHO IS PENALIZING ME FOR HAVING CANCER !!!
