I tried this place twice in hopes on getting me and my boys back to where I reside. Their website states something completely different from what they tell you over the phone. They claimed they have no room but put me and my caseworker on hold four times. These shelters were put into place to help those who have been through violence but they seem in my book to just keep turning people away. Especially since my residency is In Northampton but the incident happened in berks so I was sent to the nearest shelter for help. Which I don’t reside or receive anything here. All I can say if you are a victim like myself and reside in near this place look elsewhere. It’s definitely a waste of time and I still have to travel an hour in to see my doctor for the trauma and injuries I have.

Turning Point has helped me take my life back. I was in danger and they helped me to safety. I can say enough wonderful things about their staff. It wasnt easy to leave and I changed my mind so many times. Its hard to leave, but they were patient and gave me options. At the end of the day, it was my decision and they were there to help me take the next steps. God bless you and keep you safe especially during the pandemic.

You helped me years ago when no one else could and everyone else gave up on me because he isolated me from my friends and family. Today I am giving back and paying it forward by making a donation with my stimulus check. I wish I could give you a million dollars and even then that wouldnt be enough for the joy that you have restored to my life. Thank you!!!

I am a survivor who is now strong and ready to help those who are experiencing abuse, I have sent in my resume numerous times and never heard back from no one. Now after seeing the level of dissatisfaction of people toward Turning Point and such bad reputation. I question why would I ever want to work at a place were former members had such awful experiences! This is really bad business! Nowadays everyone looks for reviews before making any decisions. Turning Point really needs to step up there Game! After reading so many bad reviews I can only say, This is really bad reputation. WOW!!

As I was reading through the reviews, I was shocked to see some low stars and such negative comments. Turning Point has been an amazing support system for me and I recently went through the training. I can tell you that in no way was the training like describe in the review by Jane Doe. The training was empowering, insightful, and the staff including the executive director Lori were nothing short of inspiring and helpful. I am grateful to have received their services and now to be able to volunteer and give back. I did not use my name for confidentiality reasons, I wish I could, but my abuser is always lurking.

I was never able to get into talk to anybody they don’t return your calls. When I had concerns that my information was being leaked To my ex, because he threatened me that he knew somebody that worked there. It just happened to be his attorney and I brought this concern to the staff I was blown off and told to call another one in Montgomery county. They never called me back never called to see if I still needed help this place is a joke.

Corrupt! I signed up for and completed the organization’s volunteer training because I believe in the agency’s stated mission of empowerment. However, during the training it quickly became apparent that empowerment is nothing more than a buzzword for most of the employees, all of whom seemed to be unhappy and trapped or self-serving and cold. The worst of the bunch was the executive director, Lori, whose only only function during the training was to throw out underhanded comments about her employees while avoiding answering any questions directly. Her behavior was truly shocking. So immature. That woman has no understanding of empowerment. During the week of training, three employees were punished for simply showing initiative and using their knowledge and experience in service of their clients. That paralysis from fear can only lead to negatively impacting clients. Somebody really needs to clean house at Turning Point, starting with the executive director.

The people here are incredibly rude and unprofessional. They have no understanding of how abuse works at all. I called for crisis counseling and also saw someone a few times for individual counseling. They basically kept referring me to other services in the area because they clearly do not know what they are doing. Each time I talked to them, I just felt worse. Avoid at all costs!!!

Stay away! They wont help you. I got counseling a while ago here and it was ok but when I needed counseling again I couldnt get any help. They put me on a waitlist because they didnt have enough staff. I called back a month later and still could t get help. I waited three weeks and called back but they tried to put me on a waitlist again. When I complained the lady told me that they couldnt keep up with the waitlist because of staff turnover. For real?!?! Because they cant get their act together, I cant get the counseling I need. Something is seriously messed up with that place.

Many blessings to this organization that understood what my friends and family did not understand. My counselor listened without judging me and provided me options for my relationship. At the end of the day it was my decision to end the relationship so that myself and my children could have a better life. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
