Wanting to give this place a try! Haven was very welcoming and informative. Overall I did not like my end result of my Brow Shaping and Lip wax. I’m very hesitant as many to let just anyone perform beauty services. My left eye brow was left shorter than my right. Both eyebrows are VERY differently shaped, and thin as I specified to keep them thick. For my lip wax, there’s a fair amount of hair left. The wax esthetician mentioned this was her second week of doing eyebrows, ever. I would have liked the option to have someone more experienced or a disclosure that she was learning still. Everyone was lovely otherwise.

This place was super clean and inviting! My waxer, Alexis, was great! I was nervous about getting a wax with hard wax, but it was not bad at all. She really took her time to make sure that I was comfortable and to make sure that the wax turned out well.

I was a walk-in recently and was received warmly and professionally, the space is well-lit and clean, and I only waited about 5 minutes. I was able to have Emma work on my eyebrows/lip and she was awesome - focused energy, knowledge of her craft, upbeat personality and an excellent final product. My experience here was great! The staff our super friendly, informative, and do a great job overall. The wax itself was not painful and had a good conversation. They had a good amount of parking as well, including a parking lot across the street. I definitely recommend Waxing The City to anyone looking to go.

This place just opened February 2017! The look and feel of this place is calming and soothing. It is beautiful, clean, and they are professional. They do not double dip!! They use hard wax. First time and it was a great experience. Laura (the owner) was very kind and humble. She really took her time and listened to my needs. I am sure the rest of the staff is equally fantastic because of the customer service i observed from other technicians while i was checking out. Wonderful prices for the type of service and care provided. They will not disappoint. Excellent bang for your buck. Very educational and caring. Laura was fantastic!

I love Waxing the City Alexandria! I have been a loyal customer to them for 2-3 years. The owner, Laura, is smart, sharp, professional and personable. For services, my go-to esthetician is Jay. Every time I go in for service, Jay makes things as comfortable as possible. Jay is also quick—not too quick where she makes you feel rushed, but quick enough where you aren’t thinking “is this over yet?” Jay not only has a great work ethic, but also has a awesome personality. In regards to the front desk, Savannah, Olivia, and Janaye are killing it! In past waxing studios, I’ve only ever had a relationship with my esthetician, but here at WTC-ALX, the front desk staff are very kind and memorable. They greet you by your name and go the whole 9 yards to make sure you’re taken care of. Lastly, despite only working with a few people at this studio, I can wholeheartedly say that everyone on this team is amazing. Whether they’re working on you or not, they acknowledge you and make you feel welcomed. WTC has a great group of people working together. There is very much a one team one goal type vibe, which I love! They’re all dedicated professionals. 10/10 recommend!

I really liked Waxing The City. Everyone is friendly and the service is always fast and efficient. However, their prices are high compared to competitors and their scheduling can be inflexible. Most services never take the full time allocated, but they only provide a 5 minute grace period and they charge a 50% of the service for a late rescheduling which is a bit much.I definitely understand the importance of punctuality but with customers throughout the DMV and the location of the studio being in Alexandria, they should revisit the grace period and late rescheduling fees.

I am so so sooooo in love with this place. Everyone is so friendly and professional. From Olivia in the front whos always so personable and sweet to my esthetician, Nyssa, who takes care of me in the back. They also have a variety of spa/body products for sale that you can get hooked on too. I recommend this spot to everyone.

I had someone extremely inexperienced who gave me a brow tint and wax. She literally told me she was practicing on me to show a new worker, I feel bad for that new worker who thinks that’s the proper way to do it. They made it look so bad and then they told me to use acetone and alcohol pads to remove the dye (which didn’t work and just caused severe burns around my eyes). They made me have black eyebrows and when I asked for blonde (I’m naturally very blonde) the woman said she knew my hair color better than me and I would get brown. I told her my brows will get dark fast and she said she knew better than me. Huge downer on my trip to go see my friends after not seeing them in a year. Wouldn’t go to this place if they paid me. They should’ve paid me for this incident...especially after denying they told me to use those removal methods. Clearly this place is normally good but they screwed up big time for me. Especially with the denial of treatment after. Damage to the face is the worst, too.

BEST WAXING EXPERIENCE EVER. I called in with about 30 questions for the receptionist and she couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful. When I arrived she warmly greeted me as well. Nina did my Brazilian and she was absolutely amazing - funny, professional, knowledgeable and above all else - IT DIDNT HURT! Nina educated me on SO many things that even in my 30 years of life ( and 5 years of waxing) never knew. Thank you Waxing The City for providing The perfect combination between a clean & sterile, yet warm & inviting environment with the customer service and expertise to boot. Tried Wax in the City while I was visiting my cousin in DC. So happy I found them and received great recommendations! Laura (the owner) was Amazing! The staff was friendly and greeted me when I came and even asked if I wanted anything to drink. I got the whole works (eyebrows, half a leg, and bikini wax) and even got my eyebrows and lashes tinted. I gotta say I left extremely happy! Too bad we dont have one closer in So Cal like them. Im always able to get a last minute appointment when needed. Cerologists are always friendly, efficient and professional. The waxing rooms are clean, modern and comfortable and theres usually a good mix of music. Customer service is top notch.

Went today to get my eyebrows cleaned up for the first time in months (thanks, COVID19)! Booking was easy (was able to book same day), they were very accommodating when I texted to say I might be a few minutes late, and the two women I interacted with (staff) were amazingly friendly. Their procedures for COVID were thorough (infrared temperature check, handwashing station) and they even gave me a cute little bag of candy. Of course, masks also required. The staff also held open the doors and checked to make sure no other guests were in the hallway before letting me leave the procedure room. It felt weird because of the nature of the times but I felt completely clean and safe. I also learned that they are opening a location close to my apartment so hooray for that!! I got a 20% discount for being a first time customer and they have a refer-a-friend bonus as well. I think that I will be returning here for all of my waxing needs - no more EWC and their pushy sales tactics for me!

I always thought that the salon I used to go to, to get waxed was great, until I went to Waxing The City. Waxing The Citys clean and relaxing atmosphere made my appointment a stellar experience. My esthetician Stephanie was incredible. She knew exactly what technique to use to make it a positive experience. I got a Brazilian and the technique she used made it practically painless. Also the wax they use feels way better then any wax Ive ever had used on me in the past. Ill be moving 4.5 hours away in the fall, but Im definitely going to travel back to Alexandria just to go to this salon.

My wife loves this place. We moved due to work and she cant stop talking about how great the services are. The location is great for us husbands to walk around while the ladies are getting their services. I know there are male services but my wife likes my hairiness lol.

This place is by far the best! Ive been getting waxed for years but the absolute best decision Ive made is to come here! The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the wax is amazing! Ive had plenty of experience with hard wax, but never a hard wax like this! Even on sensitive areas, the wax is very tolerable! I havent got the highest pain tolerance, but honestly this wax is the least painful Ive ever had!

This location is cute, cozy and clean..kind of reminds me of a New York art studio. My skin is ultra sensitive and stays irritated for hours after a face wax but surprisingly I wasnt red or irritated at all.. Nadiya did a great job on my brows!

So all you dudes out there who havent experienced a modified Brazilian waxing, just do it and do it at Waxing The City Alexandria. They are very professional, efficient in managing session times so you are not left waiting. Important to show up on time though. The service I received was by far the best waxing experience I have ever had. The serologist was VERY knowledgeable and gave me advice on my ingrown. The studio was very clean and neat, I also loved the Orange everywhere! Im so pleased with how smooth my skin feels and how in-painful the wax was. I will definitely be back!!

This is by far the best waxing studio I have been to. Their prices are a bit high but you get exactly what you are paying for. All of the cerologists I have had have been professional, kind and very easy to work with. I usually get a brazillian and this place is the most pain free by far. They do use hard wax, which I have heard is supposed to hurt more, but I do not think that is true. This place is clean, the receptionist will work with you if you need to reschedule. Dont get waxed anywhere else!

Nyssa was fantastic! I was incredibly nervous going in today because this was my first time getting a bikini wax. She made me feel very comfortable and walked me through every step. The room was very clean and the music selection was great too. As she worked, we were chatting like girlfriends over drinks lol. The conversation made the experience substantially less awkward. I absolutely love going to Waxing the City! For years I got my Brazilian wax at EWC, but decided to try someplace new. Although the price of a Brazilian is slightly higher here than at EWC, they include the stomach strip in the cost. I find waxing less painful, if not painless here and that alone makes their services worth the money.

I can make it a point to always stop by especially for a brazillian - they really are the best! Upon walking in, you know this place has it together - its chic, very clean, and just so inviting! Gigi greeted me with the biggest smile on her face, which made me feel even more comfortable. Ive had both Laura and Kayla during my visits, and they are both fantastic - just such happy gals! I can go here and just chat it up with them while I get my services done - which are painless compared to other experiences Ive had, which sets them apart. I also like that they are so sanitary - they give you wipes before the service, they dont double dip, and their hard wax is the best. I am hard to please, and I really cant say enough good things about this place. Its in a cute town too, so you can get your wax on (and off) and then go around town to cute little shops and eateries. Its a great location with great people and awesome services, whats not to love?

I had my first wax here. It was by Amira and very well done. I went back recently and the next person was terrible. My skin is still torn up over 24 hrs later and I look worse for the beach trip than if I had just shaved. I will be very selective going forward, but the facility is nice.

My go to place for waxing! They use this hard wax and it doesnt hurt nearly as bad. Go here you wont regret it!
