Staff at the he club are extremely professional and obviously passionate about their jobs. They are very knowledgeable and their friendliness makes working out here a pleasure. It is always comforting to see Tristans welcoming face as I enter the facility. The only negative issue I have, is with the outdated and cumbersome equipment. Half of their workout machines are broken or look like they belong in a museum. I hope this issue is rectified soon because otherwise, the club is the he best around
Management and staff cycle monthly. Gym is extremely outdated and is rarely ever fully functional. Equipment has literally been broken for years....years. I stopped going to that LA and it was the sole reason I cancelled my membership and found a new gym. To be quite fair, I am unsure how they have stayed in business. They have the grounds for an absolutely amazing facility yet they fail to even keep it clean and updated. The bars are all bent and old/low quality. The machines are all broken and rusted. The dumbbells are terribly worn.
I like this Gym, although 1 person to clean the whole gym regardless of their shift it seems to be very little, that the gym does not seem clean it has some odors, nothing compared with other locations.These very necessary machines have been broken and “schedule for service” SINCE COVID-19 lockdown started around MARCH 2019. I wonder when are they going to get fix it?? Also, the dumble weights are gone you barely find one in the whole gym.Furthermore, It seems to me that they become very comfortable and little oriented towards excellence. Meanwhile, we as clients continue to pay out of our pockets because there is no other way.
Unfortunately all these comments and observations are true. I have encountered nice staff members. But if machines are broken and I cant get a good work out then whats the point.I like going there because its never crowded. Should be my first clue.I understand that they couldnt get machines repaired or replaced during the pandemic, but theres no excuse now.Ive spoken to a manager there and was told to contact corporate. I contacted corporate and was told to speak with the manager. Complete run around.I can deal with the old. Equipment and not so clean locker room, but to not repair the machines is un acceptable.Im giving them until the middle of August if its not resolved, Im leaving.
This gym has gotten progressively worst as time has gone by. I use to go here when it was Bally Fitness and it got better after La fitness bought them out but over the years the machines have been broken and the protein bar is a ghost town. Other la fitness have been amazing but not this one. I hope mgmt makes some changes.
I used to go here when I worked midnights because it saved me some time. Back then it was a decent enough gym. Equipment was outdated, locker room wasn’t great, but it got the job done.I recently went back just to see what it was like…that was a mistake. About 2/3 of the leg equipment was outright broken. The majority of the machines didn’t even had pegs for the weights. You had to steal one from another machine and carry it around just to get things to work. The locker room was a disaster and was unclean. The pool was dirty and you could tell that they didn’t maintain the water correctly. If you are using this gym as your HQ for your membership, don’t. Go to the one in Springfield. It’s worth the extra drive.This gym needs new management and a full facelift. Honestly I wish LA Fitness corporate would come and inspect this gym. Because they need to put some money into it and rebuild.
This might actually be the worst gym in the country. You wouldn’t believe it unless you saw it. The place doesn’t even look like an LA fitness. They have 2 flat benches. The weights are 900 years old. And the machines that do work, are also 900 years old. A lot of the complaints are about the staff, I couldn’t care less about the staff. I don’t go to the gym to get greeted, I go to workout, but I promise you that you’ll have the worst workout of your life. I went for 20 minutes and left. I’d rather just do push ups at my house, or just get fat.
Visiting from my regular home LA gym. Clean. Some older equipment/machines but still gets the job done. Very Friendly staff. Not too crowded.

Ive been a member at the Landmark LA fitness for almost a year. Although the gym lacks a lot of fitness equipment, there is a lot more the gym management could do to improve the place but Im greatly impressed by your recently hired fitness trainer, Foday Kamara. Kamara is extremely passionate about his work. He adds so much positivity to the environment by the energy he carries. I always see him helping everyone with their workouts. The guy has been so good that Im compelled to give you guys 5 stars. I hope you hire more professionals like Kamara.
I really enjoy going to this LA Fitness location. Ive seen obvious improvements in cleanliness and customer service... most notably since Michelle became manager. Im in the military and have access to free gyms but Id rather go here.
Pretty good I would say! Im on my 5th day of the free trial and I like it so far. The only thing that kinda bothers me is that some of the instruments are broken and very few of the working instruments have the weight selection pin in them. We need more of those.
Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced! No accountability on charges to my account. No solutions. The “manager “ who I spoke with on the phone purposely did not give his name. Hung up on me rudely when I asked to cancel my membership due to how I was being treated. Didn’t even get a notification that my account was actually cancelled. Probably planning on charging my account again next month. It’s bad enough that the equipment is not that great. Staff doesn’t wear masks properly or take temperatures. Go there if you have no standards
The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced! The Lady manager MICHELLE was very rude and with no mannerism at all. I tried to enroll in the GYM and over the phone she asked me to come to the GYM and see her for special rate they have and later on when am at the facility she told me just go and do online!! seems she dont care at all!

Worst LA Fitness I’ve stepped foot in. I’m surprised it’s still in business. Really old equipment and broken. Would have been a good gym in the 80’s or 90’s. Not what I’m paying money for. Will never come to this one again. Do better.

Its cheap and has lots of machines and most importantly for me, a pool. The staff is helpful and courteous. But half the weightlifting machines are broken and several of the aerobics machines are missing the audio output so you cant listen to the TV. The lockers are pretty old and rusty but everything is functional in the locker room. its a good thing they have so many weight lifting machines because if you look hard enough you can find one thats working.
This location is great because it is close to me but equipment has been long out dated and some equipment has been out if order for over 2 years now.
Older gym but wide open, alot of space, old school equipment. Not a bad place to grind.

Please don’t workout here or any LA fitness locations. Save ur time and money and your health. No one wears a mask, there is no sanitizer or spray bottle to clean the equipments. I want to make a review about the gym in Alexandria is the worst gym I have ever been to in my life. The team are really rude with me and others customers. I will give you my reasons why I will never recommend the gym in my life. I thought it was a good gym that I could go to and trust but I was totally disappointed especially with the staff at that gym. I went to the gym on the recommendation of my boyfriend, who was also disappointed and unsubscribe. He was at the gym in Maryland for two years which he thought would be the same and apparently not all the location are the same. First of all I signed up for the gym on July 7th which I only went for two days but I didnt like it because the gym is very old . it doesnt have all the machines, and the gym have some machines apart from others costumer which only the trainers can use which I see badly because I paid high price for nothing. When I left the gym it was on July 10 which a men I did the unsubscription. he told me that he was going to send me a confirmation email, which I never received. I went to July 14 to see what happened to see also my refund, and apparently he didn’t the unsubscription. A woman helped me to make the subscription and told me that I will wait 3 days to give me the money back which I waited for three to five days. Yesterday I called and they treated me very badly especially from the manager for sale and a staff that her name is Taylor they treated me badly and rude. in the end I did not receive even my money and I had no response. Lexi is a really bad manager.I hope that you can see my email, and take so action in the future.
Not following COVID protocols. Patrons have to wear a mask in between equipment. This is not happening at this location. I asked a team member how this was being enforced. He said “The best we can” and “There’s only so much we can do”. All team members were behind desks at the front. Not a single person monitoring the floor observing the lack of attention to safety protocols. I let the team member know that I was leaving and couldn’t work out because I felt unsafe. He said “Sorry.” Think I’ll see how the Springfield Town Center one compares. This place is a COVID hot tub.
The most disgusting and run-down LA Fitness I have ever seen. (And I’ve been to many all over the country) this is terrible. Just don’t even try. Stay away until they renovate or shut down.
Really very disappointed. Ive been a member of LA Fitness for over 10 years, since moving back to the NOVA area from Texas, I have yet to find a decent gym. The equipment is old, the lockers are really old. Its nothing more than a basement gym that is in need of a total rehab.Im seriously considering dropping my membership based upon this gym and the one Route 1 in Crystal City.As I said at the outset, I am really disappointed.

The manager was very nice when I went for the 1st time. I was really spoiled in Georgia; the LA Fitness I used was new with great lighting. This location is dark, no windows. It would be nice if they relocated to a nicer building. The staff is pleasant. Everything is set up for social distancing.
Not only is this the oldest, darkest, and most unpleasant-looking LA Fitness Ive ever been to (for the same price as other much nicer LA Fitnesses), but the staff also never gave me two months worth of membership refund they promised AND kept charging me. I called the LA Fitness HQ just to learn that they dont issue refunds at all. Lying to your customers is outrageous and extremely unprofessional. The only thing I will miss about this LA Fitness is Margos yoga classes...

While I joined the gym, it was based on preparing the pool for handicapped accessibility. The manager, who was very cordial, assured me that she would do her best to make the pool accessible. Other areas were open and accessible. Staff were very nice and willing to work their customer. I would recommend this gym to others.
COVID warning- Just visited the gym this morning, they took my temperature at the door. Unfortunately they definitely were not requiring people to wear masks regardless of whether they were working out or not.
Dingy and poor air quality. Was considering transferring my membership to this location but yuck. This location is the most depressing looking gym I have ever stepped foot in. Its in dire need of a makeover. The equipment from the 80’s and much of it is broken - not just for the sake of social distancing. Just close up shop or sell it to another owner who will do this brand justice. If I could give this gym negative stars, I would. It does not live up to the LA Fitness brand. Icing on the cake, the team members at the front desk were not friendly like the other locations.
Very convenient. You can ride the Red Line which is next to Farragut North or you can ride the Blue, Orange and, Silver Line that is located two blocks away from 17TH and I Street NW. Plenty of public transportation nearby. Its also a few blocks away from the White House. I love it 😍🤩🥰❤️
Victor is such great guy, it was honor to meet him and talked about the gym. I took my mom two days ago to sign membership to lose weight and be healthier, gym was nice and clean ppl were so friendly all the equipment were clean and friendly to use. Mom and I look forward to spend more time and get our life in shape . Thank you LA Fitness for making mom happy and look forward to have a great memories there. Keep up the great work.
Worst experience I had. I paid for two month membership before the pandemic. During the lock down I called them to cancel the membership. They informed me to do it online. But to log in online I needed a key barcode which was not provided to me. I called them and told them I could not cancel so they hold my account and told me to call back after the lockdown was lifted. The minute the lockdown was lifted they charged me monthly fee and annually maintenance fee. I called them and informed them that my account is hold inform them I couldn’t cancel the membership because they didnt provide me the key barcode. They refund the monthly fee but not the annual fee. They told me to contact cooperate for the annual fee but i called them continuously for 5 up to 6 days.I couldn’t get them they put me on hold for two hours for the person to tell me contact cooperate. They have the worst customer service and want to charge you more money on all the things even if you don’t use it. Think twice before you give them your card.😡😡😡😡 [email protected]

I don’t understand why there are so many bad reviews?! I booked a gym tour appointment with Mike to show me around and I ended up signing up for a membership! It is an excellent gym with very friendly and professional staff. The people at the front desk have been super helpful and friendly.You get a complementary physical assessment and a personal training session. I got mine with Will, and I have to say he’s one of the BEST personal trainers I’ve ever worked with. He’s very knowledgeable and he took the time to answer all my questions in an elaborative and informative way.I’m so glad I didn’t let the reviews stop me from checking out the gym myself. I recommend people visit the gym and see it for themselves before making a decision based on the reviews alone.
You can’t cancel your membership they make it nearly impossible
I have membership of LA Fitness everywhere and stop by this location, I scanned my code and the reception guy told me I can not get in this location as my membership is for certain locations. As far as I know I signed up for every location and even I asked him to upgrade my membership, he can not able cause he have to wait his supervisor until 9A.M. I asked him at least to use a bathroom, he followed me and told me I have only 1 minutes to use a bathroom. Im so upset!I didnt even use a bathroom, I left this poor customer service location of LA fitness and use bathroom nextdoor to the Gym.Its shame for this location customer handling!Even Im thinking to change another optional gym in the area that keep the promise at the sign up.
This is the oldest and most run down LA Fitness that I have ever patronized. The mens changing room looks like its from the 70s: old rusted, small lockers, half the showers dont work, (and showers lose water pressure when someone flushes the toilet), a and a constant draft in winter.
This gym is convenient but by far, the least cared for of all of the other locations. I HATE that the desk staff dont feel that they should greet and sign in members as they do at the other locations. Instead, they take pride in visiting with each other in the office. At least thats how it is when I go to this location. The 3 stars are based on convenience, NOTHING else.
This gym is actually quite spacious and it is not crowded, even after new years. It shares a parking lot with many other stores and there is ample parking. The shopping area the gym is located in is a bit dated, but the gym has plenty of equipment. The one downside about the gym itself is that the group classes seem less attended and less frequent that other gyms. Still this gym has a pool, daycare, sauna, cycle room all kinds of room...

Has enough equipment that if you know what youre doing you still get a great work out. Never too crowded even at peak hours 5 to 7. The people complaining are either fat or weak. The machines are old but functional. People who really work out know you cant judge a gym off the look.
Im in better shape than I was before. This is what my body was yearning for. Give it a try.

Great location but......thats it! I wanted aqua aerobics which the gym had very very briefly and then they cut it off entirely. No response from staff about that. Bring back the class and older folks will attend! If youre fitness experts, you should know aqua aerobics is the best for older folks and folks undergoing physical therapy. Would you just bring the class BACK!??
No matter what you do dont sign up for la fitness -- especially at this location ! Deals are a rip off, barely any good machines, not a clean area, workers are constantly leaving because of crappy pay, and they dont even have guest passes to work out for two weeks! Lady said you can either pay $15 a day or $60 by the end of the month. For this type of quality heck no! Got me....and STAY AWAY FROM PERSONAL TRAINING here thats another problem on its own. Company doesnt pay them well so you will be constantly switching trainers and they still take your money for it. If you want to cancel, youll have to pay half of the remaining amount out of your year contract. For one year, youll spend around $2,400. Training would have been better if LA fitness learns how to pay their associates well and update their gym services. Please avoid here as much as possible and workout somewhere else like golds gym or planet fitness. Trust me youll be glad you did.
Ideal location close to my house the inside environment is soo good but the daycare system is not good at all . The daycare lady just sits there and relaxing she does not know how to communicate with the kids when I just start the machine they call me in the daycare .its there responsibly to keep the child calm
The gym is OK. Its not as cheap as the near-by Planet Fitness.In my past three trips, either the paper towel and sanitizer dispenser near the treadmills were empty. This means people were probably not sanitizing the treadmills after their use.The parking lot is a nightmare during peak hours. You can always find a parking spot, albeit far from the gym. The hassle is in waiting in the long line of cars to exit the parking lot.We joined this gym for the pool and the exercise classes. If we start using these things regularly, well probably keep our membership. Otherwise, we are going back to Planet Fitness.
Drive the extra 10 minutes to the one in Springfield. This place is trash. I don’t even care about the customer service... it’s just that almost all the equipment is “under service” and that’s not including the ones that are closed due to social distancing.

Location and the number of machines/having a lap pool at all are basically its only pluses (and FYI- I hear it will close when LAF opens their new Springfield location- OUTSIDE the beltway).The staff are almost useless, the facility, despite having been completely redone by by the mall a few years ago, is just adequate.But, they do have a (small) lap pool- beware, it closes extra early on Friday nights, and they are in a good location. They also have a lot of various machines and different types of classes, and child care if you need that.Too bad corporate is letting it go down hill and will likely be closing.
The facility is clean. Two thirds of the machines are old, but still in working condition. The location isnt ideal, but there is free parking and the staff is nice. I go 3x a week and this LA fitness is better than some other gyms Ive been in.

I do the zumba classes and Courtney V is the best instructor. She makes you sweat the most. Excellent!!!!! Too bad I moved to another state. I miss Courtney!
This is the worst gym I have ever joined. The staff was always rude and unfriendly. When I asked if they had Wi-Fi, they looked at me like I had a third head. The few times you were able to get a staff member, you had to break them away from a telephone call or YouTube video. It was like I, the customer, was an inconvenience. I definitely cannot recommend this
I have been a member of these Fitness Center for long time, always enjoy my workouts, they have pretty much every single equipment for physical Fitness, very convenient for all my needs, definitely recommend to anyone out there

Very hard to leave when you want to cancel your membership. We found an email online where we could send our cancellation request in directly to someone at a corporate office. Otherwise you have to meet with a manager in person and HOPE they cancel your membership.
This location is pretty terrible. The equipment is sub-standard, the staff is mediocre at best, they never replace or repair (if they do it takes weeks), the facility itself is disgusting. In the summer, the roof based air-conditioning leaks so much that it soaks through the ceiling. The ceiling then leaks & drips paint down all over the equipment, free weights, & the floor, creating not only a safety hazard but a health hazard as well.In the winter, its not as bad, but in the summer heat this place really should get shut down by the Health Department. Not kidding.
Abysmal at best! Was in town visiting family - tried to get a week pass, or even a monthly pass so I could use the gym 4 times over 4 days. Was told the best deal they could give me was $60. Equipment was rusty and noisy - had to change machines multiple times to find equipment that worked. Tried the Zumba class - the instructor didnt cue the routine, more jumped around the room and enjoyed looking at herself in the mirror. I have been a member of three la fitness gyms in my home state and have never seen anything like this. Quite depressing

Poor management, old machines, very important equipments i.e dumbells are missing. As you can see in the picture, there is no one using the dumbbells, they are just not available. I looked for them in the entire gym, didnt find them, very frustrating. Waste of time here.
My roommate and I decided to sign up here a month ago.. we were excited to start going to a gym that was close to us. I have only heard of good experiences from la fitness especially from Florida but we were amazed how unorganized and rude the associates were. We should have know from the first time we went that there was going to be problems. We signed up with a nice girl and we told them we were just looking around and we should come back during the week and finish the membership if we wanted to join. The following day we both got charged on our cards and received phone calls from the gym. We proceeded to tell them that the girl we talked to said something completely different and that we told her when we were going to come back but they had no idea. The following month we ended up going four times and it was ok, the machines were normal equipment and some of the staff were nice but the main issue was when there was a mistake on the charge they made on our cards. I actually drove to the gym and asked who do I speak to so I can cancel my membership and the gentleman responded nobody is here that can cancel it you have to come back 9-6 i said ok.. (nobody but one person can cancel a membership!?) the next day I called them to try to cancel since me and my roommate were leaving to go out of town, we needed to cancel asap so we called and the first person we spoke to said you cant cancel over the phone so I said ok but I dont want to waste my gas going over there to cancel the membership and we were leaving the state. I ended up hanging up and my roommate called and asked to speak to a manager the person said why do you need to speak with the manager and she responded to cancel and we ended up getting a hold of one manager and she started the conversation snickering and asking WHY!? Where you going and she responded the same way you have to come in only 9-5 it happened to be 4 so we went to drive to the gym. The manager we worked with was not the most helpful she questioned me about my email choice and said you dont have that email that is not a real email and I assured her yes that was my email... I told her I had a problem with the associates calling my phone everyday! Also that everyone was telling us different times when we could cancel the memberships. While in the process another women with a child walked in to the gym and wanted to go to the changing room. So the manager goes oh what are you doing here with the child!? We dont have classes for her the mom said Ive been here for awhile and am just watching my daughter here. The manager goes excuse me, I cant hear you. The other gym goer was upset and actually was just like there has been no classes for her so Im just going to end my membership and then her husband came and the manager went and left us while trying to cancel... so Im the total of 30 minutes 4 people ended up canceling their memberships. Never have I felt like going somewhere and help was not given to me and when something so simple as cancelling a membership was not even finished in 30 minutes. We ended up calling corporate and explaining the situation and they were helpful, I have heard nothing but bad reviews since. If you want a nice gym where you just workout and the management is knowledgeable I would recommend going elsewhere.

Love this one. The springfield and kingstowne location is wayyyyy too crowded and everyone there is always talking and trying to socialize instead of just working out. Sure the equipment is a little outdated here, but it gives it that gritty feel of a real gym

I opened my membership today I take a look to the gym I like it so far but I dont not like the guy name Charles who opened my membership I got So friking intimidating by telling me his personal problems and taking for long bullshit while I have a taddler crying with me but this is not my real point, I spoke with the manager his young and seems very nice guy I asked him to low down little bit the payment his aggre but the charles he didnt except his request and his the MANAGER its was very disrespectful and I got more intimidated and disappointed how come the manager asking an employer for something and the guy says No??? On front of the client, not after long when I get out I called back to speak with the manager but he was out for lunch any way manager should take more control and needs to be firm and pay attention to any crazy employee who has a problem, I swear after I left I felt my energy drained from that crazy guy its shouldnt be that way I will give a try this month see how it works .
Not female friendly with one set of dumbbells that begin at 10lbs. The equipment is outdated, and the staff couldnt care less about random dumbbells and weights all over the floor. Its dirty and outdated. I expect more out of an LA Fitness.

4.14.14 UPDATE: They hired a fabulous cardio kickbox instructor: Zohra. And she will KICK your ass. Its a great workout and her class gets pretty full. (Thurs @ 11)Step classes are pretty good, too. Mondays 9:45am teacher will work you hard and has some great choreography--a little complicated if you arent used to it and fast--but fun.Dissappointed in the morning Zumba, though--she often runs late b/c she lives far away or just doesnt show and we are all there waiting and the class gets cancelled last minute. Wish theyd comp us a free smoothie or something at least.Heard they wont be here that much longer. Ill be quitting by the end of the summer anyway.Dec 2013:Joined this gym because of its location and the classes fit my schedule, plus I need child care. Pricing is reasonable. I wouldve preferred Golds b/c I know they have quality classes, but their schedule didnt click w/ mine.I dont have any complaints about the equip b/c I rarely use it, I like the classes. But there seem to be a lot of choices and it is a vast space and most have TVs. Bathrooms are decent. and there is always 1 person, if not 2, at the front desk.Zumba is fun, although there is a place in Baileys Xroads that has a fabulous zumba--just for women--at the Nur Center. I like that LA Fitness offers Zumba just about every day.The cardio kickbox sucks though--what kickboxing class doesnt have any jabs in it? The teacher doesnt teach routines, but blocks of 8 counts seemingly like random moves that pop into her head. If I take the class I add actual kick boxing moves and do my own thing. She could learn a few things from Billy Blanks.I havent taken a spinning class yet, but the bikes seem outdated. Hopefully they upgrade soon and hire some new quality teachers.the only experience Ive had with the personal training is the free session they offer. Its pricey in addition to gym membership. But the girl I had seemed knowledgeable and I took away some good tips. They didnt do an initial assessment of my measurements, etc, and send me off w/ a plan like Golds Gym did for me years ago. You have to pay for that at LA Fitness.I am happy w/ the childcare. I go in the mornings when Miss Ebony is there and she is great. No complaints. and they have lots of toys for the kids to play with. When my oldest was there he said he didnt even realize the time he was having such a good time...
Needs to be updated and redesigned. It really is a ghetto LA Fitness
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I had to complain directly to Corporate about the piss poor customer service I received not only by the staff but by the General Manager as well. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! They do not want your business!!! This location gives the ENTIRE LA Fitness brand a DESPICABLE name!
Everything is old in there. Only great thing about it is that it seems like it was designed for older and more handicap people
The club doesn’t enforce any kind of policy regarding how personal music is played. Instead of using headphones, folks play their music through speakers. I am a music lover but I don’t want to hear 3 different songs at the same time. Very annoying.
This La fitness center closes early every saturday and sunday and that is not fair .
