Nice gym. I dont know why the negative reviews?! Has all the equipment you need plus plenty of cardio machines too. Very spacious and wasnt crowded for a Saturday afternoon. The receptionist (unfortunately I didnt catch his name) was very welcoming and friendly.
Look I have canceled my membership a month ago and I have been charged for cancellation fee and now I’m getting charged for the monthly fee. I have called the gym membership and asked for manager multiple times during the past month he told me he will refund the money and nothing happened so last week I called the gym again because instead of getting refund I was charged for monthly fee again then I was told that manager is on vacation for more than a week and there’s no one to do his job for him! What kind of management is that?! They literally took 100$ for cancellation fee and continue to charge me 40$ after every month!! I am furious right now and the fact that I cannot even talk to any higher authority is infuriating! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM AT ALL!
I had a question regarding my bill information and stepped by the gym to ask and clear some concerns I had. Manager on duty seemed a little crabby 🦀 - I had no chance to talk to her but heard her frustrated voice from the office. The only person who helped me out was Edward Arnold - he listened to me and - figured it out, moreover saved me as a member, since I was about to cancel my membership after experiencing this negative vibe “in the air”.To other managers - please be little open minded and respect everyone during this difficult time. And thank you to Edward for helping me out.5 starts to the manager Edward who helped me, other “manager on duty” - please be more positiveHave a great holidays!
I tried calling twice to see if there was a difference between this place and the one in Merrifield, VA (my gf and I switch places every week so we would like to go to a golds gym here in alexandria as well), and whoever picked up the phone said brb and hung up on me. Twice. I think thats sort of rude.
They dont honor guest pass even when told on the phone by their staff. Extremely unhappy with how management handled my concerns with charging two guest $40 to just use the gym once. I was told those two individuals can come into the gym and receive two guest passes. I was not informed about having them to be locals or any further details. Management can do a better job at training their staff to indicate those details. Management didnt even try to rectify the situation or help any type of way.
Very unprofessional manager. Absolutely incompetent in any gym related issues. Does not know how to enforce their own rule. Gym is small with old equipment. Low ceilings with no ventilation On at any time. Can’t use your phone while in gym and must have mask on even if you gasp for air. Need better management and complete renovation.
I cancelled my membership long time ago, still charging me, I called, the person who answered the phone was very unprofessional, I don’t know how this kind of business exist. My rating should be negative star, they don’t even deserved 1 star.
The best little gym in the area!Convenient, plenty of awesome equipment and great staff.
During Covid times we feel safe on the cardio level. Every other machine off, providing safe distance, plenty of hospital grade desinfectants, motion activated paper towels etc. Staff very friendly and helpful
Most of the gym equipment is falling apart, very hard to Focus on a lift when you have to worry about the bench coming undone. Thief pre workouts and most of their supplements are either expired or are about to expire in less than a month. I’m not coming to this particularly golds gym anymore.
Especially love the Thursday night CX Worx class and Friday night Body Pump
If you want them to take you to collections even after you have paid go to this gym. WORST GYM EVER STAY AWAY!!!
Good gym, but a little smaller than most Golds gyms. Temperature checks every visit due to COVID-19.
The Gold gym is out of business now a days making new policies to charge the customers for the COIVD-19 fees and their are many hidden charges that they don’t tell me at the day of signing the contract.
Its a bit smaller than Im used to but still has everything you need with incredible staff! The closing front desk and the AGM are incredible and have always been helpful! Even the GM called me the day after I joined and seems extremely helpful. Awesome gym! Give it a try!
No longer corporate and franchise is raising prices on personal training. Good facilities, but too pricey now.
Traveling from out of town. Called to verify if they were a location that accepted gold’s memberships from out of state locations since I have the higher tier membership. Rudest customer service via phone I have ever had. Don’t answer the phone if it’s going to be a whole bunch of attitude.
Gym is small. Needs major renovations. Overcrowed during peak times. Most of the equipment is old, and when it breaks it takes them weeks (if not months) to replace it. For $39.99 a month its overpriced. There are better gym options around town.
Loveeeeee them ! They are super chill I just want to get in and out and they always make it easy to work out ..even during corona they stuck w us through being cranky n broke !! I will be loyal always to golds gym
I like this golds gym because it has the arm bicycle exercise machine. I am able to continue that exercise now that my physical therapy is over.
Very cleanStaff friendlyPeople are niceSmells are okGood locationVery car friendlyParking is not greatCute girls
Love this place! I can visit any location which is great when traveling.
This facility is amazing, and honestly, its almost overwhelming with all the wonderful amenities.
Very disappointed. I’ve never given a business a bad review in my life. But their billing practices are beyond unethical and extremely deceptive. I’ve been a Golds member for 12 years. And thanks to this particular gym, I will never step foot in another Golds Gym. Be very careful if you are thinking of signing up here and especially careful if you’re signing up for personal training. The trainers are great. The management as well as corporate-Horrible.
Great gym, great personal trainers, great equipment, great staff. And they have a Sauna.
Its a pretty good gym. Fairly clean and a decent assortment of workout equipment. There are two levels. The bottom level (entrance level) has the locker rooms and the cardio equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stair masters, etc.). The second level has the free weights and machines. Dumbbells are usually racked accordingly, although occasionally people rack them in the wrong location. Not the largest gym, but definitely good and staff are always friendly!
Great front desk team & great classes.
This is the saddest gym I’ve been to. It is small so very little space to work with and between benches. They have five benches for the free weights lol. Old equipments. Split into two levels. Cardio downstairs. Weights upstairs. Go to the one on Glebe Rd instead. It’s much nicer and newer and great open layout. This looks like a converted garage...
Small. Out dated. Over priced. Layout doesnt make sense. If more than 3 people in the weight area it feels crowded and no place to move around. The gym atmosphere/vibe is just terrible. Route 1 Golds is way better and its cheaper. I went once to check it out and joined another club instead.
They have a ton of equipment but the way it is organized is nonsensical. Theres no area to use the functional equipment. I worked out at an off peak time and it still managed to get relatively crowded. I came on a trial pass, the first day was fine. The second day I returned and had a less than impressive encounter with the general manager, whom was too wrapped up in a personal conversation to offer me any real answers to the questions I asked. This guy was so rude and unapproachable I left without further consideration of membership there. Its pretty unfortunate because this is the closest gym to me.
Switched from one Golds gym to this one for convisence, live within walking distance of the gym. The gym itself is literally about 1/4 of the size as the other gym i went to, yet i pay $10 more a month for it. So off the bat, not a great start. As for the equipment, they do not have a lot of stuff but they do have everything you need, dumbbells go up to 150 pounds. they have a place to deadlift and bumper plates, but only one person can be on the platform at once and it takes up a squat rack up. if you do not live in one of the apartment complexes right behind the shopping plaza, you would be better off going somewhere else. Very convenient for me so Ill stick it out but if i move I will not think twice about ending my membership here.
They will defraud you and charge you even after cancellation. They charged me twice the amount of my monthly membership fee a month after cancellation.
Good energy and vibes from staff..
Good service, good variety of equipment. They have to give better maintenance to their equipment.
Is a great place to work out.
Typical a 1-4 of the cardio equipment are broken down ant any given time.Personal trainers lay claim to the majority of the free space and police up equipment about half of the time.
Great staff and no matter how many people are there its never TOO busy
Go here all the time, staff is great, place is always clean, everyone is very friendly
Great gym with great equipment. Just a little crowded and parking is tough sometimes.
Gym is good but once you unrolled you cant cancel.i joined for 3 months and cancel my membership but after 3 months money is keep on deducting, inside gym management they will not help and you dont have option and they will suck your money..bad experience and will not recommend this, read agreement before signing.
Good gym, it has equipment.. so get in there, get busy and get after it!!!!!
Only reason I cane here was for a yoga class with a great instructor but they held me up to try and add some charges for the daycare which my kids were already signed up for and after being held up, the daycare lady waited all of 6 mins to take me out of class for my daughter who had stopped crying by the time I came down.
Friendly staff. Not crowded
Good machines !
It takes them forever to fix the steam-room. It’s not fair when you are paying money every month.
Was a decent gym until golds bought it
Friendly staff, lots of squat racks and benches. never have an issue finding room for my workout.
Everything you need but very crowded, older equipment and not arranged well.
Gets the job done
