The best thing about this gym is the atmosphere. Everyone is respectful, reracks weights, wipes down equipment, and looks out for one another. We won’t go anywhere else
I have been trying to cancel my membership since the beginning of this month and I needed to receive a refund after being charged twice. I was unable to come in person due to having COVID until the 17th. It has came to me having to come in person even after emailing them a couple of times without a response. I have told them I am a close contact to a live in person that currently has COVID. They did not care. I will never return to this club with the terrible customer service they have. I do recommend the Mesa club their service has been outstanding to me in my opinion.
At first I thought this place was cool. Until I spent 800 dollars for a personal trainer. I still have not been contacted for my refund 3 months later since no one contacted me to begin my training. Filed for fraud with my bank. Dont buy their personal training program. Its a scam.
Went to see about membership and my roommate bought one at a good price for month of July 4.00$ and after reg.price. I have a silver sneaker card so I didnt have to pay for mine which is very awesome. As far as the employees very helpful, friendly, outgoing, well respected answered everything question and in between.very informative. you all rock!! Thanks..❤
How long is it going to take you to fix your hot tub? New management is needed cuz whatever you have is NOT cutting it
Very helpful and friendly with signing up our children. Thanks!
So glad to be coming out of covid isolation! Defined Fitness is having group exercise classes again! You have to wear a mask inside and social distance still, but 1/2 of the machines are open and healthy people are there to us them. Its not hard to find a workout space. Temperatures are taken at the door and covid safe practices are evident.Yay!
The place is great. Everything about it is what a gym is supposed to be. Except one thing. They do not have a wet sauna. They traded out their wet sauna for 3 hydro massage chairs. I dont know about you all. But I like to relax in the wet sauna after an intense workout. It relaxes the muscles. Anyway, enjoy.
Great equipment and environment. Big muscle guy with arm tattoos that works there is pretty rude and not welcoming at all. Had multiples interactions and he made it a point to make sure and let me know that hes off the clock and works there and was very rude about it. . All other staff is amazing (:
Great facility. Most folks are nice. Just a few gym rats lack courtesy and personality. Like any other gym really. Come check it out.
Love it!! Ill be teaching spin soon!!
Awesome gym with friendly staff and a great pool.
Im a fan of to find fitness and at the moment its difficult to go to a health club. The pool is open but none of the other water features are. No showers no hot tub no sauna no steam bath. All equipment must be wiped after use. Im very careful so Im not worried at the moment.
My spouse and I were members of Defined Fitness for well over a decade. At the onset of the COVID-19 public health crisis, we chose to suspend our membership out of concern for our wellbeing and to promote the health of our community. I was disappointed to learn that after an approximate three month membership suspension, Defined Fitness would begin assessing a $10.00 per month per person fee to keep our memberships suspended. For a corporation whose business is built on promoting health and wellness, you’d think the Executive Management team would wan’t to encourage members to come back on their own terms and when they felt ready. We canceled our membership and will invest in ourselves elsewhere.
Bar none safest place to workout . Great staff, excellent instructors, supper clean environment!
Too many members dont wear a mask when no one is looking and the staff just walks by ignoring them. I had to avoid many people talking in closed spaces where I couldnt pass and even if I asked them just to move to a more open area, they didnt care. As a teacher, I cannot afford to get kids or other teachers sick. The one on San Mateo is much better at at least asking people to wear them correctly.
No one enforcing masks policym
Great gym! The staff is always friendly. The manager is very kind and attentive, he takes good care of his gym and employees. Group classes are always great. Cardio area (treadmills & stairs mostly) fills up fast during peak times but you usually don’t have to wait long for someone to finish..however, this location is way less crowded now that the new Mesa location opened. 2 hour kids care once a day included in your membership is a great plus!!
Left 2 voicemails at Bosque Location and corporate to completely cancel membership in March. They were shut down. Fine. Of course no one called me back and they are still charging me! This isnt the first time Ive had billing issues with them. Update: I received an email from billing 9 days after filing a complaint only to be told that going forward, they will not charge me anymore.
Its a nice gym. Plenty of classes to sign up for. Swimming pool, sauna, hot tub. Decent locker room. Plenty of equipment new and old. Free weights and machines. Personal training is always an option. Daycare room. Just wish they had doors separating bathroom from locker room as it can get pretty foul.
Decent gym. Shady management, cancellation is a nightmare of carefully calculated hoops that requires more willpower than an actual daily gym practice.
I waa as there as a quest and I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable I felt. Spacious environment and friendly staff
I love that theres a friendly & helpful staff, great equipment, and a wide (and fun) variety of classes! I really enjoy the fact that I have so many options to make my workouts more interesting, instead of them just feeling strictly routine! I like to change it up every once and a while, keeps me from getting bored and also allows me to stay motivated in achieving my health goals!
I really have enjoyed Defined Fitness’ gym and staff. It is now critical for the ownership to require everyone to wear mask and gloves. Please keep our safety and health as an important priority!
This is a great place to work out! The staff is great and it is clean. The equipment is almost always in working order and equipment that is not working properly is taken care of quickly. Also the Riverside location just finished refurbishing the workout area and has some great new equipment.
Its a great place to work out.
I’ve been a member of a lot of gyms in town and Defined is my favorite. The staff is so friendly, they have very diverse equipment, and great classes. Everyone that attends this gym is nice and won’t make you feel insecure. It is a very positive environment.
This is a great gym with friendly staff who are always willing to answer any questions! My only complaint is they only have 2 oly platforms, I wish they had more.
Love the up beat silver sneakers class as if you were young again. Love the professionalism caring attitude that you get from the front desk as well as the trainers .classes..so much better then Any time gym and trainers there.I loved this defined fitness center.
Best gym ever everyone is so friendly and helps out one another. We are one big happy family at define fitness..
I have not been to the Riverside side Define in 8 months. I have not been back because it felt like in was way to crowded and needed to be more streamline . Ive been working out at Riverside for two days and notice that I can finally get a good workout in. The weights look to be new and they finally got rid of that cattle guard entrance when you check in. The staff in the front seemed to be more helpful instead of before when it felt like I was wasting there time. Im am glad they are finally opening more gyms, especially on Central. This will help the overcrowding in Riverside and other gyms. I wanted to see what they have done when they announced a grand reopening with upgrade . I think the new streamline and opening of other gyms will keep me coming back, keep up the good work. After a month if I think I like the new look and good help I will give Define 5 stars.
Did a spin class yesterday. The class was fun and challenging. However, one of the pieces of music used by the instructor was a hip hop choice with a litany of foul language. Lots of F bombs. They could do better on the music choices!
Lots of class options and times.
I love this gym! It is what gym should be when you just feel like lifting they have everything you need and none of the silly rules that places like the purple gym have, also theyre not trying to stuff your face with a bagel on your way out. Front staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and always greet you with a smile when you walk in.
Unsafe equipment dirty around the hot tub and pool area. steam room smells like dirty underarms pool too cold hot tub too hot not able to accommodate to the handicapped I feel very unsafe around other members pool area has one exit no emergency Outlets cleaning detergents left out in the open for everyone to use handicap chair is broken and rusted womens locker dirty Showers have hair in the drains. Taking pictures with cell phones in the locker room pool area and all the gym floor I would like to buy out. Cant afford to need more handicap parking in front
I have been working with a personal trainer for three months now. He has broken down each goal so that they are achievable, and works me at levels that I can handle. I am very pleased . If you are looking for personal training, I would highly recommend Noah Montano!! You Rock Noah
I just love my personal trainer, Madison Bridges. She has introduced me to a whole new world of fitness. I am using machines and equipment I never thought I would be able to operate and I am loving it!The classes are amazing too. At 55, I thought my fitness plan would be tread mill, circuit weights and a few tried but true aerobic classes. Wow! Was I wrong...I am amazed. I am having a blast and seeing results after only 2 weeks. My nutrition has also been improved as I have a coach for that too. Thank you new years resolution, without you I would not have step out and challenged myself to try personal coaching at Defined Fitness. I am feeling better, looking better, and sleeping like a baby :)
Staff friendly. Classes of all levels of abilities available. Training has been the most helpful in my personal goals. Still working on them and seeing results. More importantly feeling the results.
I’ve been working out at Defined 10+ years. My kids love the kids corner. The ladies are wonderful! Gym is clean and upbeat. Has a motivating environment.
Great place to work out cleaner than other defined fitnesses
Seven years I went to this gym, and I cancelled my membership. I loved the class instructors which is why Im giving it two stars otherwise Id give it one. Unsanitary all around. Workout equipment is grossly outdated despite high membership costs... I could go on, but I wont. The quality of this gym is quickly fading. Profit is more important than members.
Terrific place many class options- plenty of machines. Staff at the front desk is always friendly. My trainer Kayla is awesome.
Great fitness center with good staff and helpful management. My husband and I lost our Silver Sneakers membership recently. The manager stepped in to assist and we had a smooth transition to a new membership without having to pay extra fees. The staff immediately set up our new membership and were able to continue our workouts without interruption. If you are searching for a fitness center; this would be a great place to consider. In addition to being super helpful, they are always adding new equipment, have a lot of fitness classes to choose from and have competitive membership rates.Highly Recommend!
Great place for the hard of hearing, music so loud ear plugs dont work. Getting fit and losing your hearing. This is a perfect place for this combination..
Years ago, the water area was really clean. Now its so disgusting and filthy. Two people told me that they got fungus on their feet. Weve asked them over and over to clean the tiles in the pool, and they havent. Theyre mold everywhere and it stinks. You have to take a good shower with anti bacterial soap, so that you dont get sick.
3 locations in Albuquerque and all vary in quality, availability of working equipment and facility cleanliness. Riverside is my home gym and favorite for leg day. Reasonably priced. Has a wet area, daycare and plenty of classes to choose from. Monday/Tuesday are busiest, Friday / Sunday are the least busy
Great staff and great selection of machine and free weights
Good gym for the price. I have done Sports and Wellness and while it does have nicer facilities, I think you cant beat the price here. It does get crowded at peak hours but it isnt bad. I like working out here and I would recommend to anybody looking for a quality gym.
I am trying to cancel my membership. I am being told I have a contract that I must pay $100 per person to get out of. Why was this not explained to me when your annual enrollment fee went into effect? In doing some investigating, no signatures were obtained for a contract or terms. I also found out about their dont ask dont tell training that is taught to their employees. This is an unethical way to run a business. I am very disappointed in this company and advise all not to commit to defined. Acct. 104031
All of the employees are so so nice here, which made me feel more comfortable to start going to the gym. Also love that they offer childcare and do crafts and activities with the kids!
Best gym best managers best equipped and great people workout there. Can’t wait to see everyone on May 15th.
Today was my first workout after signing up at Defined Fitness. I am a runner (15 marathons). But I thought I would give a gym a try for cross training. Defined Fitness offers a free trainer....who could not be scheduled for over two weeks out. Then half the treadmills did not work well. The increase speed button on one machine finally worked if you pressed it in just the right spot. No towels are provided. With no towels people leave the machines sweaty. I have to say, running the river trails is far superior to going to this particular gym. Maybe Riverside Sports and Wellness is better?
The staff is so nice, and always helpful!! Even my kids love it at this location. ❤️😉
Truly have gone above and beyond for their members post quarantine.
I love the gym because it has a lot of equipment and a variety of group classes, as well as a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Their personal training program is working really well for me. Overall I think the gym is very well-balanced in getting people healthy, well and in shape.
Like it except on Monday, too crowded. Can we get massage beds? Nice pool.
Trash company which charges an “annual fee” when they have been closed. Pathetic way to cover your awful company during Covid.
Great facility - everything you could ever want. The staff and trainers are skilled and supportive.
Best gym in town hands down. Staff is also amazing!
I attend Silver Sneakers classes at Riverside. The gym is always clean and tidy and Ive never seen anybody just hanging around inside or outside the building. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Even the visitors to the gym are friendly and willing to explain a piece of equipment or give directions to find staff. Definitely recommend the Riverside Defined Fitness.
My daughter has high functioning aspbergers and went in to cancel her membership because she can’t work out with a mask. We were charged on the 25th for the month of September. She cancelled august 31. Two days later they charged us $75. I went in and asked why they said a 29.99 annual fee and then they charged us again for September they would not credit anything!!
I enjoy coming here. The people that work here are friendly and the gym seems clean.
I enjoy the Water in motion class and the CXWorx class and the fact that they provide free childcare while I workout .
Everyone is so supportive here! It motivates me to go as much as I can. Great variety of machines.
Just became a member at Mesa location, the staff is great and the equipment is top notch
The pool and jacuzzi and steam room are a major plus here. My mom and myself are plus size so the steps in the pool are convenient for us to access the pool we are on a journey to improve our health and becoming more active the pool is a great tool for us to start.
Best swimming experience in over a year👌
My husband and I are members at this gym. It is okay. We joined bacause we wanted a gym with a pool for a one day a week swim. The pool is nice, but you have to keep an eye out for when they are doing classes, as they give you little room to do laps. The hot tub is very hot and nice, but most of the time it is packed. The steam rooms seem to always be packed with a wait to go inside. We dont really swim anymore, mostly just weights and machines, and its mainly the location that is keeping us here, despite all the things that I dont really like about it. It is packed a large chunk of the time. Finding a bar for squats is usually a waiting game. There are a few pretty obnoxious people that drop weights and sometimes scream loudly... Though I guess these people are probably at any gym. My biggest and most frustrating thing about this gym is that there are no towels at all. There are no small towels to have around the gym, and no towels for showers. At the price that we are paying every month (plus the extra annual fee), we really should have towels available to us. Many gyms at this price point will have towels available to their guests. And I know some locations in other cities do. For this price point, we should have that luxury. They do regularly do upkeep on the machines and make sure that everything is working properly, which is important. They do regularly have someone in the bathroom mopping up all the excess water to keep it safe, which I really appreciate. The staff always seems nice, welcoming you in and saying goodbye and any that I have some across around the gym/locker room are always friendly.
Clean most of the time, the hot tub could use more attention though. Swimming facilities are good, machines are plentiful and the staff is always cordial. Starting to feel somewhat overcrowded these days however.
The facility is far too small for the volume of customers. The majority of gym goers at this location are there to socialize as opposed to putting in serious work. To each their own but due to the size of the gym it really interferes with a good workout. With people holding machines and curl bars hostage while they sit and chat or play on their phones there’s just not enough space to work around it often times. There is also a serious lack of room for stretching, rolling or abb work. The staff is nice though.
The staff is always friendly. Clean and positive environment for all fitness levels and goals! Love the variety of fitness classes offered.
Great gym with childcare!Do the membership but avoid the PT sessions. There is a deal when you sign up for half price PT sessions dont fall for it. They try to pressure you into signing up for future personal training at $150 for 3 sessions then say you need several to achieve your fitness goals. When its mentioned that the price is not easy to come by they make you feel like you will fail but try to help you with the bare minimum. They actually tell you that 3 sessions is not enough and that you need to invest in your future health. I think $50 a half hour is over priced. They ask you things like how are you going to reach your goals and whats going to keep you from failing. Felt intimidated and bullied but I had already paid the fee so I have no choice now.
Great place to work for. We were out to repair signs and staff very friendly and a pleasure to work with. This location is huge and has plenty of parking. Its a nice touch having the flags of the four branches of military and also a Coast Guard.
I have been going to the riverside location since it was built. Very friendly staff. Large gym with good equipment. Yes, It is sometimes out of commission for re upholstery. However, At least that means they keep up the equipment. The gym can be very busy depending on the time of day, But I would assume thats how it is at all gyms. I would call the price reasonable. Not the cheapest, But definitely not the most expensive.
Shannon is awesome, Nick Is awesome, The whole staff is awesome. Not only are they nice and courteous but also keep a great and positive environment at all times. The facility is clean and very organized. I wish they were open 24 hours, but I should start getting up early anyway.
I go to this gym usually 6 days each week. The employees seem nice & helpful. Certain times of the day, of course, are much more crowded than others so one would need to ask what the best times would be to come to avoid a crowd. I am thankful this gym has an arm bike which I use because I had rotator cuff surgery of my shoulder a couple years ago & this machine helps me tremendously.
Love this gym. Always feel motivated when I go. My friends and I enjoy working out here and it’s helped me stay in track!
Hired a personal trainer for a HEFTY price...and my body looked worse after than when I started. Very disappointed. He treated me like I was new to working out. I actually had sports injuries and have worked out for years. I hired him for a jumpstart and motivation. That was absolutely not what I got. I got treated like a geriatric individual. The facility is pretty crowded as well. Can hardly ever find an open bench. Its not often that I feel completely comfortable working out here, as there is too many people always. Staff however, is very friendly.
I LOVE them and the pool.
This gym has better equipment than Rio Rancho but inferior to the NE location. What bugs me the most is that 99% of their customers are wearing headphones yet they pipe the music so loud that you cant drown it out without damaging your ears. If you ask them to turn it down, theyll tell that its a volume set by corporate. This is a complete lie as the volume varies at different times of the day and depending on whos working. Also, Ive had workers at the other location turn the music down. The place is otherwise decent. They weights are not incremented by 2.5 like the other gyms. Not a huge deal. 2 stars for a clean gym. This is the only franchise that doesnt have heavy bags to hit which also loses a star.
Best way to start every day. Get a smile and a goodmorning at the door, and plenty of facility to keep you busy.
Staff there is great. Great enviroment. Felt like i belong there even though im only 16 years old. My class took a field trip there for a spin class session, great coaches. Really loved how they pushed you to your limits. And are very inspirational.
This corporate gym gets a zero rating. Their members are brainwashed to think they are receiving a good product, in truth they would get a better deal at Planet Fitness. The pool is nasty. The personal training program is a ripoff. They treat their employees horrible. I wish a better, bigger gym would drive this gym out of business
Clean, great classes, swimming pool available. Its a great place to workout.
Great place lots of workout equipment gets a little busy and sometimes hard to get kids into their daycare other than that love it
Thank God for this location, as the other ones are very small and cramped. Hoping the new Rio Rancho location is as good as this one.
Liked the Riverside Define Fitness Center better, Resistant machines and treadmills located in the same area and close to the restrooms.
Excellent gym with anything you would ever need. Always very clean with great staff. Only downside is the amount of members that are there during the day, can get crowded.
Always a great place to work out...
I like the variety of classes and instructors at Riverside Defined Fitness. I am very pleased that Riverside added a 5:30 am Body Attack class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 am. Yay! Body Attack is a super cardio class and I have noticed improvement in my cardiovascular fitness since I started taking it. Thank you, Riverside Defined Fitness!
They left an advertisement under the windshield wiper of my vehicle. I dont find it acceptable for businesses to go around touching and posting ads on private property.
Well-run, clean and the staff is second to none.
Love to workout... But the Vibe is strange here
I love coming her. Large facility with lots of options in equipment and classes. Friendly staff.
Be careful, they trick you at sign up and tell you that you will pay a fixed monthly rate. and then surprise you a couple months later with annual fees of upwards of $35/month- a significant surprise that they conveniently left out at sign up. When I called to request a refund they directed me to corporate, the only way to stop patroning this unethical gym is a $100 cxl fee...they get you at every turn.
Best define fitness in Albuquerque extremely clean
Signed up two weeks ago and have been 12 times already. Ive been to other gyms in the past and was hesitant to sign up for another because not enough benches or squat racks or people camp on them too long. This place is always busy but they have enough free weight equipment machines in a good balance and the people here workout and move on for the most part. I can come in, get my cardio warm up, do my lift routine and be done in 45-60 minutes and thats when theyre the busiest at about 5 or 6.Tl;dr version: great equipment, people are courteous of others, and all in all great place to work out.
