Loved the Prickly Pear margarita! My food was wonderful I had the Navajo Taco plate. I chose the beef and red sauce. It was delicious. This is not a corn tortilla taco. The lettuce, tomato, cheese, beef and sauce are served on a piece a puffy fried bread. It was delicious. I will definitely eat here again and next time I try this with chicken and the green sauce. 😁

Handicap friendly, great people and food. Post Covid, June 15 and there were plenty of tables - no wait.Took mom and dad out to eat and its not easy with Pops with the whole dignity thing, being in a chair and all. We took parking around and behind the building so he didnt have to worry about people seeing him get in and out of the van... He was anxious. The staff directed us from front door to side door with Handicap ramp. It was easy to navigate and we parked his chair right up to a table. He instantly felt welcome and back to his joking self. As soon as he had a few chips and salsa, grumpies he forgot he was in his chair. Lol So, yes, handicap friendly...Dinner was delicious and I want their recipe for Sopapillas. They were almost as good as moms and if she is not reading this then I can say Id like to have them from time to time instead of the family recipe. :-)Everything was fresh; chips, tacos, beans, rice, chicken - everything. Excellent green chili sauce. Thank You to the great staff who made our experience 5/5 - Excellent and will be back!

The service was quick even though it was lunch rush. I ordered a Dr. Pepper and shared the La Placitas Original Old Town Special with my mom. Both were good. We sat on the patio which had an equal amount of shade and sun. The bathrooms were clean with multiple stalls. They did not charge extra for water, but will charge 20% gratuity for parties of 10 or more. They brought us a craft of Dr. Pepper for our refills which we appreciated. Our water glasses never were half empty, they kept the refills coming quickly. I would dine here again.

This is one of my favorite Albuquerque restaurants, first came here as a child in early 1970s and never forgot the wonderful Southwest ambiance and charm of this establishment. The restaurant is located in a rustic 300-year old stucco building, and each dining room exudes Southwest history and culture. The food and service are generally very good, and the menu features a variety of New Mexican dishes. There is also a childrens menu and more general selection of entrees for those who dont prefer Mexican food. The restaurant is an amazing landmark that you should not miss when visiting Albuquerque.

The server was nice but not very knowledgeable or helpful in selecting a dish. Its a take-your-order and push you out type of place. The most disappointing part was the food. I ordered the steak fajita sandwich and it was terrible. The steak was tough, besides the grilled veggies and cheese, there was no sauce or mayo so it was very dry. I finally had to exchange it for something different because that dish was so bad. The replacement dish, chicken enchiladas, was pretty terrible also! Please, just save yourself a bad time and avoid eating here.To management: your place has a lot of potential, great history and location. Please just work on the quality of food and your business will flourish. Wishing you good luck in improving!!

The food was very nasty and on top of that overpriced. It literally looked like dog food; the rice was clumpy, the beans tasted spoiled and sour and the meat tasted like it was taken out of can. It’s a shame that such a beautiful restaurant has such nasty food. however, despite my bad experience with the food, the server Daniel made the experience very welcoming and nice. He’s very kind. Thank you Daniel**BEWARE THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD**.

Very bad experience. I dont know if they were short staffed or what but took about 20 min from time we were seated to get acknowledged by a waitress.Food did come out quick however we were never given napkins or silverware. After waiting another 10 minutes after food came we gave up and started eating. Despite many efforts to get their attention we actually got napkins at the conclusion of our meal (never did get silverware). I hope we just caught them on a bad day, but no silverware, napkins, or checking back with the table after food is served is just poor service.

If you are tourist, do NOT eat here. The space is cool but the quality of the food and service dont do New Mexico justice. Then, in my case, you have to listen to your family complain and create a sour mood to the point where you dont even want to spend time with them. They need Gordon Ramsey to come and turn this place around.

I’m really disappointed in the food & this does New Mexico no justice at all. I’ve lived in New Mexico all my life, and wanted to try La Placita today. I had high hopes. It was way over priced, the rice was SPOILED, and my tacos fell apart. We called & got our order again but we just could not eat it. Really disappointed & definitely will not be returning. If you are a Tourist there are better options.

Oh how I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I was seated in the bar area right away (the host is the best of what this place has to offer). I sat in the bar area for FIFTEEN minutes before I left. The female bartender came to the bar 3x, asked the patrons at the bar were they okay & NEVER came to my table. At one point she and a male bartender came out & neither came to my table. Its important to mention I was one of the FOUR patrons in the bar area.I so wanted to like this place.

I forgot to make a review, for your restaurant, after my road trip to Mo and Ill, from Pasadena, Calif, last October. I really, really enjoyed my lunch at the Patio area, where the huge tree grow, indoor. I love it! Being there for 50+ years. Back in the 60s and 70s, my whole family stopped by this fine restaurant. SOPAPILLAS are our specialty, served with honey. Great salsa, guacamole dip, and chips are excellent. I had a wet burrito with Spanish rice, are superb. There two managers are very nice and helpful. Young waiters are friendly. One lady manager was so friendly, even she asked me (because Im a solo traveler,) if she can take pictures of me standing front of the tree. So I replied yes. Whats a sweet lady, that I forgot her name. Thank you, lady manager!

Where do I start. Grand gold margarita so sweet all I could taste was oxidized sweet/sour mix. I tried to cut it with a Mexican brew and I shouldve just drank the brew by itself.Food: Bland, beans were hard, rice was missing tomato sauce flavor. Red chile wasnt hot. Not even medium. Fajita meat was tasteless. No tomatoes in the fajitas. Too many bell peppers, gauc was oxidized and spoiled. Our stomachs are beginning to ache. Never again should be the title of this review. Oh and by the way all this costed $63. We didnt finish anything except the salsa.

I was enthralled with the tree growing out of the roof and the mariachis. I was too young to evaluate the food then but since we went there often, I assume it was quite good. Today... well they still have the tree growing out of the roof. Thats all I can say in a positive way. Go to Church Street or the High Noon in old town instead. No... not La Hacienda either. Best place to eat in Olde Towne. The restaurant is so cute and feels like you are in a house with various different rooms to sit in. If you can, ask to be seated by the tree. Yes! A live tree that grows through the roof of the main dining room. Free chips and salsa are so good and the salsa has just the right amount of spice. Everything on the menu looks delicious. I got a dish that was basically a taco on top of Indian Fry Bread and I also tried the stuffed sopapillas, which were also very good. Be prepared to answer red or green salsa just like every other place in New Mexico. At the end of your meal, you also get plain sopapillas and there is honey on the table which makes a nice desert. I highly recommend eating here if youre visiting Albuquerque.

(That ended a week ago). Nice try. Then our food came out! The nastiest food ever. My sons chicken fingers were so burnt that he didnt even eat them. My Santa fe chicken club wrap should have been called warm lettuce and old avocado wrapped in a tortilla, and of course no fries. And my daughters salad was just sad looking.
