Dont let the people who reviewed this company bad, because they were towed for for a good reason and it wasnt the towing companys fault. I didnt see any unprofessional behavior at all. In the two times we used them I was treated with respect and kindness. They were on time, too. Come on people...tow trucks encounter all sorts of delays and problems getting to your car. Sometimes you have to wait. Jim had to maneuver our camper which was in a difficult position and he did a wonderful job. Im glad I called this company. The other places wouldnt set a price at all and that scared me. Dont hesitate to call them. They know their stuff !!
Cecil was persistent and efficient at getting my finicky 2016 GMC Sierra opened. He was there within ten minutes of calling Budget Towing and had my truck opened within six. Whenever I lock my keys in my vehicle again, I wont hesitate to call, and Id even ask for Cecil. I hope that wont be for a long time, though.
They did get my car quickly, but honestly the service itself was awful. My car broke down on me and I managed to get it to a parking lot over on State St. had to go to work, and then came back for it and called my insurance to get it towed. They use Budget Towing. We called Budget Towing after the set up with the insurance and the guy on the phone was very accommodating and said that we just needed to leave the keys somewhere the tower could find them. So we did.The tow truck driver then called and said he couldn’t find the car and we had to stay on the phone with him until he found it. Complained loudly on the phone that he wished people would stay with their cars.Once he got it to my house, he basically dropped my car on the ground. Hello? My car is already having issues, I don’t need a flat tire or anything else you may have damaged on-top of that. He was super rude and not very professional.
Unfortunately I don’t have a spare key and I lock my self out of my car a lot. I’ve used budget towing every time and they are amazing! I’m usually quieted $60 but sometimes they charge me less. I’m not sure why but I’ll take it. They are always super fast and respectful! Thank you budget towing!!
These are the most pleasant & professional young men. The young gentleman at the desk was so cordial & kind. Explained everything so completely. As Shawn was the truck driver that brought my vehicle to my house, so pleasant & polite. Once again he as well explained entire procedure. I would recommend this company to everyone, I would truly like Thank both of the kind young men. Great company
Towed my car without giving an explanation or warning while it was parked in my own parking space, which I pay for. They ask for an unreasonable amount of money to get your car back. When I asked for cause, the tow truck driver didnt list a reason on the report. The company so far in the process has been extremely unprofessional and illogical with their reasoning to tow cars.
My car broke down so I started calling around to see who would be able to offer a tow. Admittedly, I called a lot of places because there didn’t seem to be anyone that had trucks out or it would be hours. I went ahead and scheduled one that was going to be a few hours and Budget Towing. Budget said that they could get here faster so I called the other place to cancel. So, I waited..and waited until I called to make sure that they had the right location. Well, they said that traffic was stopped (it wasn’t, but there was something going on that it was moving extremely slow...sure understandable, but no one came when traffic resumed) So, they didn’t bother to call back to say that they weren’t coming. The guy was super rude about it, “Well, you called multiple companies so it is great customer service. We’re good here.”Great, still stranded. My money is just as good as anyone else’s and all I was trying to do was find someone to help me. No one tries to call a tow company to share good news and I just felt like they could have shown the smallest amount of kindness and consideration.
One star is honestly too much, I wish I could give zero. The staff was very unprofessional, spent more time socializing with each other than helping me receive my car. Extraordinarily unhelpful, I waited two whole hours to receive my car because of the hoops I was forced to jump through (even though I gave proof of insurance, registration, and ID). I am so sorry to anybody that ever has to deal with these employees in the future. I highly recommend this company evaluate their employees and management timely.
John was here to unlock our trck in 20 minutes. And it only took him less than a minute. Saved the day thank you souch
My car didnt make it to the exit for me to get gas, and it being 4am i had no one to call for help. My insurance company dispatched this company to get me some gas to get off the highway. I dealt with Brian I believe. Very nice guy and easy experience. My insurance company estimated about 45 minutes for arrival, but Brian was there within 15. Thanks Budget and Brian, greatly appreciated!
Im pretty sure this company is nothing but a scam. I waited 6 hours and no one ever showed up. I was told multiple times that they would be there in 45 minutes and was even told 10 minutes at one time.
The women I spoke with on the phone is horrible and she should not be working with people. The ignorant should not work customer service
Terrible service, terrible staff. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE. Hours of my time was wasted strictly due to incompetence. After giving proper papers to receive my car, I was dragged along while the staff was paying more attention to each other’s social conversations than answering my questions and treating me with respect. I am appalled at this company that they would allow such employees to work for them.
Very quick service...no problem getting to delivery site...will use again.
Bad service and horrible phone agent/receptionist. Rude and belligerent. Wouldn’t even confirm whether they had my vehicle or not, will be reporting to the USDOT, BBB, and any other relevant agencies.
This business conspires with local apartment complexes to tow vehicles and charge ridiculous fines that are to be paid in CASH. I wouldnt recommend these criminals to anyone Im contacting the IRS. Ask yourself, based on their reviews who would call these people for help? By the way I wasnt towed for illegally parking my daughters pregnant roommate was. I didnt have a problem with her being towed if she was illegally parked the problem was $475 for less than a half a mile tow!
Fast and friendly service!
This guy is running a crime ring he will literally steal your vehicle and force you to pay to get it back
Its a cool towing place
Yet another unprofessional, predatory tow company. Also: what is up with the fish on your businesses photos? Super classy
Told them to take it down the street to my car mechanic, but they took it twice the distance and the opposite way.Beware of this establishment
Best tow service and yard in se Michigan
Car was towed from a guest parking spot parked at an apartment building next to another car which was just left alone. There was not a no parking sign and car was towed for seemingly no reason. I have been parking at this apartment in these spots for 10 months and never had any issues, my girlfriend has lived in the complex for 3 years and never had any issues with anyone else parking in the three guest spots. I will be contacting the landlord as well to tell them about my dissatisfaction with this company on Monday. Finally, I was on the phone asking about my car and in the middle of a sentence put on hold. The disrespect that reeks from this company is truly upsetting, and only accepting cash with an ATM that charges a fee at the location is disgusting. If you have an option to use a different towing company I definitely would, because nothing good will come out using this company.
These folks towed my daughters car on supposed parking violation (ticket was dismissed) and bent trailing arm (rear suspension). They refused to be responsible and pay for damages. And towing 0.9 miles cost $300. When my daughter tried to get the car, the guy would not release it to her because BOTH her name and mine were on the registration so both of us had to get the car is what he insisted. So I had to drive 150 miles at 8pm on Friday night to get the car out. After paying the $300 towing bill and $25 storage fee, they had to search for almost half hour to find it. Here are two pictures of the bent trailing arm.
Call was answered quickly. They quoted me a time and a price over the phone, and just a bit after when they said the driver would arrive, he did. Unlocked my car and charged the price I was quoted. Friendly and easy. Will definitely call again if I need to.
They towed my fiancé’s car because he forgot his parking tag in his work truck and it just feels really gross and malicious. They charged him 300$ to get it back and when my friends’ car was towed they changed the price on him. Bunch of money grubbing scabs.
Awesome place! I get to work with them alot and they have amazing service and workers
Worst place to deal with these people steal illegally towing peoples vehicles
I called at 1:15 p.m. they told me they would be here at 2:20 p.m. it is now 4:14 p.m. . Completely ruined my day, and caused a great deal of hardship. a little bit of honesty would have been helpful.theyve told me several times theyll be here in 20-25 minutes. Youre better off pushing it yourself.
SCAM ARTIST!!!! If ALI comes trust me be careful he is a crook. ALI came and said the property manager wanted my car out. He said ill do u a favor give me $200 now and i wont tow it. I have a video of him accepting cash and video of him saying thats what my bosses tell me to do. ALI is a scam artist. The only reason why he works with Beal properties is cause beal is a crook and allows him to work on the properties.
This place consistently rips you off. They will tell you one price to get your vecihal back than change the price on you so you have to pay more. Also they wont let a another tow truck company on their property when you want to tow your own vechical somewhere else... 4 years ago i had a simular problem they left my key in the on position in order to drain my battery when they towed my car. I then had to pay them to get a jumpstart even when i had my own way to jump the car they would let me jumpstart my own car.
THIEFS!!! ALI will steal your money. HE told my wife if she gives him $150 he would leave the car. He said i didnt have a plate on my car but he isnt a police tow truck he is a crook and steals money from people do not trust budget towing ALI is a CROOK!!!!!!!!!
I would give 0 stars if possible. My fiancee and I sat for FOUR HOURS; this was the only company his insurance would send and they quoted two hours, (which was actually close to three before we called them back) then another forty minutes after the driver was pulled over by state police, and then another fifty minutes before calling AGAIN to be told the driver had taken another call. We finally cancelled and went with another company that was very fast and professional (Northside Service in Lansing). Please just go with them.)
Rude dispatch, 2.5 hours later the driver calls. Wow. Glad I didn’t sit there waiting
Trash service. Kept me on hold for 10 minutes. Very rude staff. Do not call this business.
Honestly it was my fault entirely that my car was towed, so Im not angry since I am to blame, but more so surprised with the price, I payed about 332, for a 6hr stay in their lot, and I have had my car towed only once before and it cost me about 351, after being left at the lot for 3 days. So the amount I paid for half a day was and is pretty high. But other than the price I have no real issues with them, the staff were accommodating and straight forward, not so much welcoming and eager to help, but they werent rude or spiteful, just more so calm and tired. It was overall a pretty average encounter.
I was towed less than 3 weeks after moving to Ypsi and leaving my tag removed for 2.5 hours in my apartment parking lot. Then was treated unprofessionally when retrieving my vehicle.60 cars.Since then, there have been at least 60 cars parked in my apartments parking lot that were not towed and were parked longer than I was (some over night).
Stokes was very professional and extra friendly great worker
Brian the driver was so awesome and patient he did a spectacular job.
I love Budget, great staff and drivers. All are really lovely until you piss them off. Be kind and you will get a kindness back. If you walk in all angry and have an attitude, you will get that back. Just be nice, its not that hard.
CROOKS!! They say we have a police order to take ur car or pay me $200 and ill leave it here. ALI is a CROOK
Best tow company around
This company is truly something. I live in the Lakeshore Apartments and my complex has a contract with this company to come and tow cars that park under the paid awning parking. I have came home twice and had the same van parked in my “paid for” parking spot. The first time I called, the tow company never even showed up. I just called to have them come again. I called at 10:00 pm and it’s after midnight now. I’ve called several times and each time they keep stating, “10-15 more minutes.” The last time I called I spoke with a lady by the name of “Kim,” who was incredibly rude, told me that my driver decided to take another job on his way to my apartment. I have to be up super early for work and I’ve been sitting here waiting for them to show up. I am seriously disappointed in this company. They don’t care about their customers time and they show no sense of urgency when someone calls for their assistance. If you need a tow company, please use a different company. YOU WILL NOT BE PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY!!
Caught attitude from the dispatcher, now apparently theyre just pleased with me Ive called twice Ive been waiting a total of two and a half hours with no ETA except from a third (hopefully) unaffiliated company that I called 10 minutes ago. Funny thing is my dispatcher recommended this company because we use them at work and she said shes never had an issue with them. I should probably tell my company that they need to go with Brewer from now on Im guessing I will beP.S. Brewer just showed up like 20 minutes after I called them, knew I would be paying them at the other end didnt even ask for a deposit drivers friendly and professional quick smooth loadThere should be a driver at budget that is upset with your dispatcher or cost me a $20 tip it will not go to the driver from Brewers
Scammers
After another tow company left me stranded on the side of the road for nearly 3 hours in 15 degree temperatures, Budget Towing came through for me. I was ready to just leave my broken-down car on the side of the road for the night, but when I called the local police for advice, they couldnt promise it wouldnt be impounded, and they recommended I call Budget. I spoke to Kim at dispatch; she was very friendly and incredibly helpful. She cut right to the chase and let me know she had a driver en route before we even hung up. She told me the driver would be there in about a half hour, and 32 minutes later, Austin pulled up. He seemed to be an extension of Kim - very friendly and incredibly helpful. He was quick and efficient, and met me at my mechanics shop to settle the bill. The price was reasonable, and the service was phenomenal, especially considering what Id already been through. Kim and Austin earned every single one of the 5 stars I gave this company, and I encourage Budget Towing to hire more people like them who genuinely care! Thank you!!
This place definitely scams you! $700 just to get YOUR belongings out of your car after a serious accident. Please do not use this place!!! Unprofessional as well!!!Edit: there is a reason why the POLICE were involved and told you guys that the items were going to be taken out and no one is paying $700!!
My car got impounded by these guys because I parked in an area that I wasn’t suppose to park in, I ended up paying 400 or so dollars which as a college student isn’t cheap. But it’s my fault and if my mom taught me anything it’s to always take responsibility for my mistakes. When I went to get my car out it was a quick process, I just had to show proper indetification and pay the fees and I was taken to my car. The lady at the front desk was kind and helpful, and everything went smooth.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST CROOKS IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN. I flipped my car over and almost died the other day and they’re still charging me $700 and I have to give them my car, I’m not even allowed to get my stuff out of my car. I have never experienced such a terrible thieving business such as this. I have NO IDEA WHY people would ever give them 5 stars. May God give your business a taste of your own medicine sometime in this life and the life after. Inshallah.
I got my car towed by the company (not by choice) after I was in an accident. My car was a total loss and my insurance company told me to get my belongings including my license plate before the car was towed. I was told by multiple employees that I couldnt take my license plate off until the car was leaving their lot. After asking 3 different people to put a note into my account to pull my plate and after being assured all 3 times that a note was placed, I returned to get my plate to find out that it had never been taken off. As irritated as I was, I attempted to be courteous and ask who I can talk to in order to get everything resolved. I was told to call the next day and talk to the boss man, whose name was never given to me even after asking for clarification. I called the next day, asked for a manager, and explained my situation to the lady on the phone. She never transferred me to a manager, as the person on the phone explained to me that she was the manager. I have worked many customer service jobs and understand the frustration when a customer takes a tone with you when you are not to blame, so I treated the employee on the phone with curtesy and respect. The lady on the phone told me that there was nothing they could do since a note was never entered, but could not explain to me what else I could have done to ensure it was taken off. As a customer, I do not see any other route I could have taken to ensure this was done, as I asked 3 different people to note my account. I was met with rudeness, I was interrupted many times in the middle of speaking, and this lady finally told me that she didnt want to go back and forth with me and I was advised to just call my insurance company. They also lost my key fob and told my insurance company that I never gave it to them, despite the fact that I have camera footage of my key fob being handed to the tow truck driver. As far as the towing service, no complaints. They came in great time and I had no issue on that front. All other fronts are terrible and I would advise not dealing with them at all and just dealing with insurance if possible.
They arrived quick price wasnt bad at all and the driver was very personable. Hopefully wont have to buy if ever in need of a tow again, Im definitely calling.
This is a predatory towing company. Ive watched them come and tow my neighbors from their legal parking spots they pay for twice now, and then when they come out and point out their parking pass in the car, the guy says there is a $100 cash only drop fee or hell still tow it. They definitely prey on and take advantage of students in student housing parking lots.
This towing company bent up my cars rear suspension, which I was unaware of when I first got my car back. After driving it for two weeks, the bent suspension caused the control arm to bend. Two mechanics who looked at the car confirmed that the only way that this could have occurred was by a rear tow. When I called Budget, they were very dismissive and said that they would only honor damage claims 24 hours after tow occurred. Very disappointed with this companys business practices.
Bad enough were dealing with a totaled car but then these people are so rude it doesnt help the matter! Not once was the lady that answered the phone friendly or helpful. If you like being treated like dirt this is your place! I understand you want your money but when the insurance company says they will pay you when they pick up the car and you still refuse to let someone get their belongings you dont have to be rude about it. So now I get to drive an hour out of my way with no car to chase my stuff around, I understand thats not your problem but thanks to your rudeness and unwillingness to cooperate with insurance this has been the worst experience ever!!!!
Budget towing should be ASHAMED of themselves. One of my kids made the mistake of parking at a friends apartment without a guest pass. Yes. Their mistake. Not denying that. The car was towed literally next store. The car was in Budgets lot for 5 hours and 30 minutes. From 2:15 AM to 7:45 AM. The charge was $290. When I called to question these charges they said it was a mistake and the charge should have been $317!!!!!!! Shame on them. Shame. Not sure how they sleep at night. Not to mention that they were incredibly rude when the car was picked up.The very same day one of my other cars was in an accident. I had it towed by a different company from East Lansing to Howell (36 miles). Total charge was $160. Hmmmmm. $317 for Budget to tow a car next door vs $160 for a different company to tow a car 36 miles. These people are downright crooks. I cannot imagine why the City of Ypsilanti continues to allow them to stay in business. Shame on Budget. Shame. What kind of a person/company charges these outrageous rates and then has the ability to look themselves in the mirror each day with a clear conscience? Very sad.
When my apartment towed my car Budget Towing was of great help. They let me check if my parking pass was visible and had a meeting with our complex about it. The prices are exceptionally high especially for a budget towing but the ladies sin the office try their best.
Took my car from a EMU lot that I had paid to use because it was private property. I had been parking there with several other EMU students for more than a month without problems. Charged me $300 to get my car back, absolute BS. Im talking to campus and Ypsi PD about them soon, shady as hell if you ask me.
Stay away - Crooked as the day is long.My sons car was towed a block due to his fault so I have no problem with the tow, the problem is the additional scam charges to move a Ford Taurus 2 blocks. The company I work for has a tow company and Budget Towing is scamming the public with unnecessary charges to pad their pockets. Special Equipment charge? Not need to tow a FWD vehicle. SOS Transfer fee? Pocket padding. Private Admin, for what?Just read through the 125 plus reviews and see the comments and responses they have to those comments. The owner or manager talk a lot about education but its obvious they would rather scam to make money that rely on customer service and positive word of mouth. Maybe they should spend some time training their staff how to talk to customers instead of insulting and swearing at them.As someone who works for another tow company use this company at your own risk. Sad that companies like this give the rest of us a bad name. Also note that this company is related to Stadium Towing and Milan Towing.
Had a flat tire on the way to work, and tried to use my jack that came with the car which of course broke half way through switching to the spare tire. Normally Im not a fan of budget towing ( had a bad experience with them a few years ago) but since I had no other choice I called to have my car towed. They said it would be half an hour, so I was surprised to see it was only 15 minutes before they showed up. The tow truck driver first tried to see if we could make the donut work after he jacked up the car but of course the donut was flat! So then he even tried calling around to see if one of the local shops had tires in so I could make it to work in time. This really made this bad day at least a little better. My only regret from calling budget is that I didnt get the drivers name and that they cant take a credit card tip :( . I never want to have to call a tow truck, but if unfortunately it happens Ill definitely be calling budget towing first.
Sam is the best very friendly he got here with in 15 minutes got my car moved in 5 minutes and gave me a business card with 10 percent off my next tow. Thanks again Sam!
Ripoff
I actually had a really good experience with them. They picked up my overseas customers reefer truck from the auction and brought it to their yard. They were able to get a key made for it and get running so I can ship for a very reasonable price. They were even very patient with me when I had some delays in picking up the vehicle. As far as customer service goes, everyone from the Manager Nate to the mechanic Dan were all very nice and professional. They answered all my calls and helped me whenever I needed it. Will definitely use them again!
My sons car was towed from his friends apartment complex literally in walking distance to Budget Towing. He was not only charged for towing BUT $7.00 for gas to tow his car exactly 0.3 miles (gas is $2.99 a gallon at the BP across from towing company), and an additional $65.00 for SPECIAL equipment. Shame on your business for taking advantage of college students. Nothing but students were there when I went to assist my son. My son takes full responsibility for accidentally parking one spot over from the visitor section and had no problem paying a fine but to charge $317.00 including fees you cant give valid descriptions for is terrible. BAD BUSINESS AND RUDE STAFF.
I put one because I couldnt put zero, this is such a crooked company. They were smoking inside the building, they would not let people get stuff from their car, they lied about the fees said 100 then 400, said debit and cash on paperwork then just cash over the line. They pass the contract fee they have with the police onto the customer. Horrible, rude low-budget people doing the service. Budget will respond DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, 2.1 average rating speaks for itself.
You people are thieves. How on earth do you expect a community of already bankrupt college students to pay $300 for one day on the lot? What makes you feel good about doing that to people?I was parked in a lot owned by my landlords and was still towed away. I should not be towed from a lot owned by people I pay rent to. Having to pay this amount of money is ridiculous and you should feel ashamed of yourselves.
I personally had a great experience. My car wouldnt start in a low parking structure and it wasnt the battery. I had called 3-4 other companies which couldnt get into the parking garage which I understood. One (Sakstrups) even told me theyd be out there in an hour and when an hour went by, they called and told me they wouldnt send a truck out because none of their trucks could get in there (they couldnt have told me that first??). Needless to say, Budget Towing was there in 30 minutes and, even though their truck couldnt fit in the structure either, they took the time to push my car 5 ft to get it to the downslope of the structure so my car would just roll itself out. After 2 minutes from starting the push, my car was on the street being hooked up. The initial hookup fee is a a little high compared to other towing companies, but I wouldnt say unreasoable for the help they gave me. Thank you for your help, Austin! Really went out of your way to help!
Place is garbage. Driver was extremely shady. Told me I could run to atm and give him 100. Was gone before I came back. Horrible way to handle it. I understand I parked in a spot for literally 2 minutes dropping my friend off and checking out her apartment when I shouldnt have parked there, but I ran to an atm just for him to take off anyway. Not cool. Just tell me no. A positive note, the lady in the office was nice. So was the older tow guy that took me to my car. Reading the owners responses really shows it all. My car got towed because of me, if you have a choice DO NOT USE THEM. It shouldnt matter if the car was impounded. You should pride yourselves in having good customer service with any type of customer. If I was handled appropriately, I would have left a good review even with my car getting towed. The one star is not because Im unhappy with the situation, Im unhappy with the unethical, shady driver.Edit: I appreciate the respect in the response from the owner. I was not expecting that.
They couldnt find my car 😡 I had to call 3 times to get them to actually go look for it smh
DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. No my car was never towed! they are rude. They don’t know how to talk to customers. Again if you are a student or even if your family or friends ask you about this place tell them to go anywhere else. They don’t deserve your hard earned money.
You may want to remove your credit card signs if you don’t not accept them. I would also recommend your employees attend a few customer services workshops as the level of service they used was deplorable at best.
Timely. Professional. Communicative. $100 cheaper than other companies I’ve used. Highly recommended!
This company is out rages their prices are so high they came out to pull out another tow truck and charged over almost $400 just to hook up the cable pull it out I wouldn’t recommend this towing company . Then on top of it I had to eat most of that money to get the other driver out and they couldn’t even jump one of my vehicles for me. And I top of that they wanted to charge me $50 just to jump and they were already on site .
I call to get a to get a vehicle towed and got laughed at them put on hold. Wow believe the reviews of this place dont waste your time.Response to the owner. I was willing to pay a few 100 bucks for the long distance tow.
I was towed from River Drive Apartments the other night for parking in the guest lot without a parking pass. I was parked 4 spaces to the left of the dumpster where guests are allowed to park for 24 hours. They towed me anyways for parking without a pass. Guests dont need passes in the guest parking... I was charged $295 dollars for parking where I was supposed to park! I had a test to take that day and didnt do so well without my books that morning. It was a terrible day because of the unjust actions of this company.
Hands down the sleaziest tow company Ive ever dealt with. They will hold your vehicle at a separate location that isnt staffed, and then make you wait for hours until they send someone to the location. They only accept cash, and dont provide an ATM at their Ann Arbor location. Their tow charge is $317, which is not only ridiculously high, its also above what most cards will allow you to withdraw from an ATM per day. Of course theyre sympathetic and happy to hold your vehicle for another day so you can withdraw more money. And then theyll charge you $30/day. Total joke of a company. The tow driver that eventually showed to help me seemed like he was doing what he could to help me while still having to follow their incredibly bs rules. Props to the driver, I couldnt work for such a terrible company.
Stressed out and late and of course thats when the truck breaks down... Thought I needed a tow but the driver of the tow truck worked some magic and I was on my way. Great people and great service.
My van broke down twice and i needed a tire change once and a tow the next time. AAA used Budget towing for my Flat Tire and dead Alternator. Both times Buget Towing showed up in less than 30 minutes although AAA gave 60 to 90 ETAs. Both workers from Budget Towing where amazing and Fast. Jack helped with Towing my Honda Odyssey on a flat bed. Jack and the guy who put a spare on from the time before were extremely nice and courteous. Last year i had my Mustang unlocked and the Budget Guy was there in less than 30 minutes. You guys are fast and didnt damage anything.
Called them for lockout service. A driver was there in 5 minutes and had my car unlocked in about a minute. Great service
The employee, Kevin, physically and verbally abuses people to tow cars and then cries wolf to the police. This happened to me and other residents at the apartment complex. DO NOT USE BUDGET TOWING EVER FOR ANY REASON. Use ANY other company. They literally pride themselves on making almost all of their money unethically.
I had my van towed from my house to a machanic after it had sat for a while in front of my appartment. There were no leaks or issues with my van before having it towed other than the bad wheel hub, why it was sitting in the first place. The tow truck driver that came out and put the hoist under the van to connect it to the wheels and lift the van. When he did, he didnt have the hoist low enough and hit the bottom of the van really hard. He then realized it was too high, stopped and lowered it more and continued to hook up the van. Later, as the machanic was working on it, it was leaking massive amounts of transmission fluid as it was running. I had the van started just a day before the tow and there was no leak. Talked to the owner and at first he stated that they were going to pay the machanic to fix the trans lines that broke, then later said that there was no way they could have broken the lines, that it would have just happened anyway and theres no way the driver could have hit the bottom of my van with the hoist, that goes under the van, even though I was standing there and watched the driver hit the bottom of the van with the damn hoist. Theyre not going to do anything now, stating that it was rotted and would have broken anyway. I would avoid this company like the plague!
The Ypsilanti police and budget towing set up kids to get their cars towed while at a popular basketball game at the high school. They overcharged and got over $300 per car for over 20 cars that night. I hate budget towing.
Going to forgive and forget. Making this one star complaint into three stars, because it wasnt Buddys fault. I was told no one could be there sooner than 45 min, so I walked nect door to get what i needed when my car broke down. I made sure to get back to the car way way earlier than the time they said was the earliest. Because he came and went while I was away, I was left stranded for three hours. Not Buddys fault. But the management certainly didnt give a hell about me.
I had just bought a bus from Ohio. I need to take it home (Belleville, MI). I started driving and got all the way to Rawsonville Rd. Unfortunately, thats when my bus had stalled on us. My wife and I started searching for a towing company and after several calls to other companies in the area, we reached Budget Towing. The employee who answered the phone was very friendly. We able to get a tow truck within 30 minutes. The tow truck driver was courteous. And I was surprised with the great service I received for the price I paid for.Budget towing has a shop where they work on vehicles. I left my bus to be diagnosed/worked on.I recommend anyone who needs towing service to contact Budget Towing. Thanks for the awesome service Budget Towing.
Have always been fast, and helpful for a FAIR price. Most of these complaints have been from uppity jackasses who feel entitled to everything. It costs money to run a business. Employees, trucks, insurance, maintenance, ect. Not to mention that towing a car that is in park is probably a pain in the butt and causes extra wear and tear on their equipment.Maybe these children need to actually RUN a business before they complain.Thank you Budget Towing for always being there when I have an issue.
This place is pretty slippery... As a AAA Plus Gold RV card holder I was entitled to two of their trucks for at least an hour. They wanted $100 cash extra just to dispatch to my location which is a big no-no in AAA world. The simple 5 minute job of wenching a vehicle with two tires stuck a ditch turned into a big drama where they lied about the road conditions and went out of their way to keep me up until 4am waiting for a tow unless I agreed to pay them an additional $100 cash to dispatch! After getting jerked around all night AAA finally dispatched another tow company, Nationwide Towing out of Ann Arbor, and just when you think youre sticking it to them, you start to wonder... hey, arent these the same guys but just a different name?So for anyone else sitting on the side of the road waiting on a AAA dispatch for these people, reading their reviews like I was - just keep telling them to get bent on their request for cash money and keep calling AAA until they dispatch someone else, who will probably be the same company - just a different name, lol - yeah... its like that! But at least you dont have to pay the $100! You might be sitting on the side of the road for four hours like me, but in the end youll have been the BOSS they so desperately needed.
This review is in praise of Eric, who showed much kindness, warmth, and patience, and shared with us much knowledge gained from his experience to help us navigate our way through an unfamiliar and confusing situation. Eric towed my sons car after a collision involving two teen drivers. No one was hurt, but both were shaken up. He arrived shortly after the sheriff concluded his interviews with the drivers, and set about to work readying my sons damaged car and cleaning the area of debris. As he worked, he assured my son all would be fine - these things happen and have happened in the very location where we were, and offered me great advice on where to have the car sent based on his knowledge of our insurance company and area body shops. He was so kind and helpful, and made a difficult situation seem manageable and straight forward, reducing our anxiety levels. No one wants to be in a situation where you need a tow-truck, but if you are, you would be fortunate to have Eric come to help. And one thing more - his colleagues at the office are equally pleasant and helpful. Thank you.
Please dont bring your business here; its business practices are beyond unethical.
I cant emphasize enough how horrible this place is. Please NEVER give them business. They charge $295 after towing 2 ft from where it was parked for 3 hours. The staff is rude and called us smartasses. I sure hope karma brings them what they deserve for working at a place that takes so much money from mainly STUDENTS already being robbed blind by the government.Convo with worker there:everyone has to work somewhere yeah sure. i work, and i get paid by 1. a corporation who can afford to pay me, and,2. people who can afford to tip meMY PAY DOESNT AFFECT ANYONES ABILITY TO FEED AND SHELTER THEMSELVESlets hope i can make rent and afford groceries
Imagine standing outside in the freezing cold for a hour and a half only to hear that they cant get in touch with the driver. The worst service ever.
AVOID THESE CROOKS.The fact that the owner is even being rude on his response lets you know how terrible this business is. No professionalism. I was involved in an accident and my car with personal property was towed and I was charged a ridiculous amount for nothing. They have no hearts especially the owner. You sound extreme. Please be careful when dealing with the Ypsilanti location. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. After getting into an accident, they towed my car (without my consent, in NYC you need to sign a waiver to avoid crooks like these) and when I called to ask for the price I was told it would be $440 to get my car back. They then proceeded to tell me that the price is different depending on the cars condition. There is always a flat fee based on how far the tow truck traveled, in this case they traveled 2.5 miles! I asked what the charges were and got a ton of made up charges. I then asked for an itemized receipt (the law requires any business to have one before purchases) and the told me I would get one after I paid. They refused to give me a receipt and before I made that phone call I was hung up on TWICE. It is outrageous that this company even exists and why they are getting away with charging customers such high prices with no explanations.
You stole a car and held it for ransom. How does it cost you anywhere near $300 to operate a tow truck and move a car a mile? Theres a fair price for towing and then theres Budget Towing, whos name is so misleading it can only be a cruel joke. To the business owner, you know of the problems you cause people and yet do nothing to change your business, which spreads so much misery in the community. On behalf of all Ypsilanti residents, I beg you to reform your awful business.
I had an outstanding experience with Budget Towing late last night. I was a little hesitant to call given some of the negative reviews, but I can’t imagine thinking poorly of this company based on the interactions I had with everyone I spoke to. The woman who dispatched the truck was extremely helpful and kind, and a man who called back to confirm some details was just the same. When help arrived a short timat after, I was amazed to see that they sent two people! One driver came with the tow truck, and the second came with a big truck to divert traffic away from all of us on the side of the road. Both of them worked quickly to get my car out of a difficult spot, and were unbelievably polite through the whole experience; even requesting that I stay in my vehicle for my safety (something I’ve never exeprienced with a tow before). I’m very thankful I called Budget for help and would absolutely recommend them.
I was robbed at gun point and hit in the face with a revolver. Released the car to the police for DNA charging and even needed surgery. Tow truck company tried to charge $570, but got it down to $345, for now ;-). Fees for AWD when my car is FWD, other reductions fees, $100 to tow my car off the lot because the battery wouldn’t start and for “liability reasons” likely because it died in police custody, but possibly in the tows’ custody. Get this, they ended up just jump starting my car and let me drive it off the lot. $100 tow I did not receive. A liability that apparently they weren’t very worried. Asides from the gunman’s mental stability being next to none, these guys follow shortly behind. Their employees are brash to be polite, savage is more appropriate. When I explained my situation, the injustice, physical harm and victimization I had went through, the first thing out of the receptionist mouth - “well your still responsible for paying for it.” Can’t wait to make these guys my new hobby.
Illegally towed my car, couldnt tell me why it was towed, just wanted money, also refused to let me retrieve my belongings which is illegal as well.
Sooo Budget Towing came to tow my car from MY complex my property because I couldn’t afford to renew my tags 3 weeks ago without no warning or permission.... told me that the police and my complex called but they said they didn’t lol nobody is making sense so you mean to tell me I can’t buy a car and park it in my complex until I can afford to pay for insurance and tags??? I will be contacting my moms lawyer. NOT TO MENTION MY COMPLEX UNLIMITED PARKING FOR ANYONE, we do not use parking tags!!
This isnt me ranting about parking somewhere I shouldnt have. My car broke down. I called AAA who called budget towing. AAA screwed up the location they gave to budget towing so thats AAAs fault, not budget towings fault. I gave up on AAA figuring out how to competently dispatch after 2.5 hours of dealing with them on the phone so I called towing companies nearby to pay out of pocket. Budget refused to come out at this point. I have no control over bad AAA dispatch info. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and just said I need to call AAA without listening to anything I was saying. I just wanted to pay out of pocket at that point. Just take my money right?! I called AAAA towing and was much happier. AAAA towing had good response times, friendly service, and reasonable prices. They had no difficulty locating the breakdown and made the situation much safer while on a dangerous stretch of road. AAAA towing should definitely have been my first call.
Very helpful when you need them
Excellent service & response time!!
Fair and just. They are much cheaper than most and try to work with customers unless its the law illegal people whine bc they dont read signs. My car was stolen and they worked with me.
My car is stuck in the and the woman who I spoke to treated me very rudely when I gave her the main cross streets and the exact cross streets because she wanted to know exactly where I was. Terrible service for people in a stress full situation.
