The new location is quite nice in terms of updated building, but the cardio equipment is really limited in its programs. The old gym was honestly better in terms of equipment. It feels like they really just standardized all of the equipment, which is really only good for beginners.The hours are NOT 24/7. They close super early on weekends. Beware if you dont have a 7-4pm job, or you probably wont be able to make it in time.The amenities are closed down more often than open. Theyre down enough that it is making me rethink my Black Card. Why pay more for something you arent sure you will be able to even use? It could just be cloudy, and they shut everything down for inclement weather.

Always feel comfortable walking in here. Staff are great, facility is clean, and tanning beds are perfect!

Staff needs training in customer service. 1 of the girls particularly. Being rude isn’t a way to keep guests happy. Used to love this place.

The facility is really nice, super big, lots of room. The staff needs training in customer service, not friendly AT ALL! It was our first time there and we were asking questions, they acted like they couldn’t be bothered, even rolled their eyes. Figured things out on our own and with the help of the app! Even when waiting to go tanning, I’ve stood there, waiting for their side conversations to be over before I was assisted.

Not sure whats up with the new hours but I joined because it was 24/7 and now its just absurd the new weekend hours. Was going at 9 or 10 pm but now must find a TRUE 24/7 place.

This pf is more spacious than most which makes working out less stressful. There is actually room to do walking lunges.Our shower at home was being worked on so I planned to shower here.Showers were absolutely caked with hair. No point in closing half of them for social distancing if the two that are open are covered with hair. I had to drive to the YMCA to take a shower.

The managers are great and staff as well! You have great workers in Boardman,ohio

I cancelled my membership a long time ago and I am still being billed every month. I’ve payed over $160 since the last time I visited PF Boardman. Be careful if you do cancel for any reason. Perhaps this is due to an error, I wouldn’t expect them to operate this way so I will call and see if they’re able to make it right. Hopefully they can fix it, credit me back, and I will edit this review. Aside from this issues it is a very clean, and spacious gym and I really enjoyed the time I did spend there.

The new hours have forced me to consider finding a new gym. The facility is nice enough though.

Our Planet Fitness is huge, and has a great selection of machines and weights. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the black card. With the black card, you get free hydromassages, the light therapy, and suntanning. Plus, you can also have bring a visitor, and visit any Planet Fitness when out of town. I have personally lost 90 pounds since joining, and I love the hydromassage for my fibromyalgia.

Good luck trying to get in there for a quick tan at lunch...been twice now both times a mile long line, at the one computer to sign in, no employees helping to speed things up and no beds ever open for like a half hour...never used to be an issue...find a different location this ones irritatingly busy.

Have asked multiple times to cancel my membership. Now I am out $30 even when I asked for MONTHS to cancel.

I like this gym but the audio on some of the machines doesnt work at all which is very frustrating. My workout is much longer and way more enjoyable if I can listen to a show while exercising.

Decent gym to belong to but gets way to busy. They also dont have heavy weights BUT the price is very good and the massage chairs are great for relaxing (Black card member perk) also the staff have always been professional and kind. They clean nightly and usually maintain equipment well enough.

Wasnt real clean an my husband couldnt even use the bathroom because it stunk so bad wont go backbto this location ever.

Im here 5 to 7 days a week. I love the place. Its clean and except for during peak times I dont have to wait to use equipment, which is a simple problem to solve. I just go early in the morning.

The gym itself is always kept in pretty good condition and the machines and weights are usually pretty clean. My biggest complaint is that there isnt a huge variety of machines and weights and that it is too over crowded. I normally struggle to find a spot to park and then spend a decent amount of time waiting on the equipment I need to complete my workout. But thats what you get when you only play 10 or 20 bucks a month

At This location lockers and showers are open again.

Visited twice during a work trip to the area. Tanning beds were as expected at a PF location. Bulbs recently replaced which is nice.Not as spacious or as many machines as my local club. But enough to get the job done. Unfortunately I wont go back and will use the gym at my hotel for the rest of my stay as it was very hot and humid. Seems theyre having some HVAC issues. They had a company on site with dehumidifiers and fans everywhere. Aside from this its your standard PF location.Overall I love PF as they are inexpensive, usually have decent equipment and facilities and almost always have a location near wherever I am traveling for work.

Just got my workout in at one of the happiest places on the Planet. Ive been back with the Boardman location for almost a year...theyve got a great new staff and an awesome trainer. Jay, Terry, and Phil can and will help you get started if youre new to working out. They will also give you a verbal and visual demonstration when you want to try a new machine. Need a trainer or just some direction...see Terry! Hes the go-to guy if you need your fitness world rocked. Didnt make an appointment with Terry...I found that not to be a problem, even when hes there to workout himself. These guys are approachable..even if you just need some encouragement/moral support/or a smile/high five before, after, or during your workout. Ive been to other gyms and fitness places but this facility makes you really feel like you belong. P.S. The bucket under the water fountain..it didnt interfere with my workout...guess cause I bring my own water...and the additional equipment...Thanks for the additions...Ive never had to wait to use a piece of equipment. Problem with the paper towel dispenser...hmm...still got my workout in and looking forward to the next time I go back! Guess its all about perspective and the mission youre on...this is a very friendly place and a great place to workout! Thanks again Jay, Terry, and Phil!!!

Mad about the new hours.

Rarely have I ever thought that I got more for my money, than what I paid but this is truly one of those cases. I have the Black membership which has a few more perks and it is wonderful. You cant beat the price and its way nicer than the YMCA. Its very clean and the equipment is great.

This is a great gym, clean and updated equipment, the people are amazing.

Great place to go it lives up to its honest reputation. I would say its almost like you own the equipment yourself because when you visit you are never disturbed and its an all you experience. The machines are always taken care of because of the courtesy of others. Great place to work out.

10 year member, I’m there every other day. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The equipment is always clean, well maintained and safe. This gym is the most conveniently placed and priced gym ever. The members are kind, respectful and non-judgemental. This means you can do the workout you came to do without interference from lunks like at other gyms!I started at $10/mo during a special and I’ve been going ever since. The renovations to the rear still look brand new. This place was heaven when I worked 3rd shift. There is always an open tanning bed or massage chair.The men’s restroom could use some better ventilation, air fresheners, more reliable hot water, maybe second towel dispenser. I’m not sure why the counter is always wet, but wow, it is! Super gym otherwise!

Might just be the context of my life right now but this has been the greatest place that Ive been to thats been changing my life literally on a daily basis. Not bad equipment, pleasant staff, pretty good environment.

I love this gym! Been a member at so many different places in the area and this one is my favorite. Besides the prices being so affordable its also the cleanest gym ever. Nothing is more important then a clean gym. The equipment is always updated and easy to use...after working out here I cant use equipment anywhere else. Last but not least the staff. What can I say...they are all so friendly and nice and call you by name. Never had a bad experience in all the years I been coming here...my only complaint is new years resolutions lol.

I love this gym... Can be quit busy at times but there is always enough equipment to go around. I lost over 65lbs working out here. Gym is immaculately clean and laid out in a design that any beginner can feel like a pro. U give them my higest recommendation.

These managers better start caring, they are losing regular people that workout here everyday, its overcrowded in certain areas, u have people that dont shower and their hygiene is bad, that workout with people that care about their hygiene, there is rules against coming in smelling like a sewer, they let lunks carry their workout equipment in and lay it all over the floor, they allow them to basically do what they want, this gym or whatever u want to call it, is falling apart, its not like it was when it started, dont bother coming in after 5, its so packed u cant workout anyway

Always a pleasure and nice atmosphere here. Although they need to figure a better system for tanning needs and hydro needs. They just dont check it and verify whos in at what time.

The staff arent that well versed in their own equipment. Had to ask multiple times about basic information on the equipment and always got different answers. The manager gave me an incorrect answer when I finally spoke to him, and I had to prompt him twice to double check for me before he came back with the correct information. Wasnt very impressed.

Great Place for working out 24/7

Had 2 really good workouts here during my last business trip. Staff was nice and a few were very attractive. Tanning was good. Overall loved theexperience.

The gym itself is clean, but there are entirely too many people that go here. Only go here if you plan on wasting your time waiting for equipment to open up and being around a bunch of people that have no idea what theyre doing. If youre serious about getting strong and in shape this place isnt for you. The dumbbells only go up to 75 lbs and the fact that they dont have free weights and only smith machines for exercises such as squatting, benching, etc is a joke. You will get weaker only using these machines and it restricts your range of motion so your stabilizing muscles will weaken. Doing these also increases your chances of injury. I went here for a little over 2 years and had shoulder pain and back pain. Since leaving this and going to a real gym that pain is 100% gone. They say it is a judgement free zone, which leads to a bunch of incompetent people going there and doing things that will either hurt them or give them no results. And dont get me started on the stupid lunk alarm we arent going to church, we are at the gym and its normal to make some noise if youre actually lifting weights and putting forth effort. Just do yourselves a favor and dont go to this gym. While it is a lot cheaper than most places, you just simply wont get the results as you would at a real gym. Most of their trainers are college kids that are going to school for physical therapy or nutrition and have taken one class in said discipline.

Worked out here over the holidays. One of the best equipped planet fitnesss Ive been to. Very spacious too. I like the open area in the back for interval cardio stuff

The tanning rooms are disgusting! I been coming to this location for 8 months and it’s to the point that I have to stand on my shoes to get undressed and redressed bc of all the hair, lent and hair ties on the floor! I guess they don’t have brooms here and if so sweeping the floor is last priorities! Someone really needs to clean them rooms. The stand up beds have mats in them and they always have dirt and hair all over them! Clean them rooms not just wipe a bed off! I have only encountered 1 rude staff member as well.

4 stars because they should hire staff just to go around and clean the equipment after people are done with it! Because it either doesnt get done well, or doesnt get done at all. Plus that would create job opportunities for people!

I can honestly say i have never had a bad experience here, as someone who frequents many local gyms and visits planet fitness daily the staff is friendly to an acceptable level, not overbearing, gym is mostly clean all of the time and has a welcoming atmosphere for members.

Fit for what I need. Lots of great equipment. No hassle zone.

The nice thing is they are open 24 hours. I just wish they had a place for kids inside so I didnt have to find someone to watch my kids before I went to work out.

Judgement free zone? I guess those Planet Fitness commercials making fun of bodybuilders dont count, right?! Even the signs on their walls brimming with judgement. Calling people, Lunks because they may happen to grunt while working hard. Unreal. Hypocrites. This place is a joke. Dont even get me started about how they have CNN on all the TVs but no FOX. Politics, just like judgement dont belong at the gym!

Absolutely horrible business practices and policies in place. Signed up back on 12/18/16 and actually never used the membership, not even once. They obviously log when you come and go, so they keep track of when your there. They charged my second membership fee late, on 1/24/17, and then charged me again for $42 exactly 2 weeks later, 11 days before my next monthly membership fees were due. I walked in and they treated me like I was lying and didnt even bother checking the logs and seeing that I was never in the gym. The staff is rude, and needs to learn the basics of customer service. A couple of the young men there attempted to intimate me and threatened to physically remove me because I demanded to talk to the franchise owner and I wanted some sort of compensation for a service I never used and they over charged me on. DO NOT GO HERE! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! HORRIBLE STAFF!

Lots of equiptment and open space! Lots of friendly people frequent this gym too! Only problem Ive encountered is the cleanliness; each time Ive come there have been crumbs on the front tables and the water fountain is very dirty.

Well. The first time I joined, I used the stand up tanning beds and ended up getting worts on my toe. That was 5 years ago. Still have them. I joined again to help motivate a friend and we signed up for the help of a personal trainer. They were supposed to ask questions about us to develop a schedule for working out. He was terrible. He was very late, asked us a question or two, while staring at a game on TV that was on at the time, and that was it. So I cancelled my membership and worked out at home and lost 20 pounds. Also, everytime youre there, the people there are very rude. At least I know that I will never join a gym again! :)

Wow. $21 for a day pass. In town visiting so there’s obviously no point to get a membership. They must feel they are a top club in Singapore, not a pink and yellow gym in Youngstown Ohio. Total rip off.

Let me start off by saying the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing in this place! First time I went in to sign up I was told I couldnt bring my 5 month old baby, which of course I understand, but I asked if my fiancee sits with him in the front can he stay ? We were told yes .. we dont like to leave our son with anyone..anyway we come in with my son and as soon as they sit down we were told they can not sit there .. which was very annoying because we were told that they could! Its far away from and activity going on in there.. moving foward all the females that work there seem miserable and rude besides one ! The one who canceled my membership! Or whom I thought canceled it !! Come dec 30 2017 I was charged their fee of 41$ ! Mind you I canceled dec 13th! I called 2 times and everyone keeps saying my membership was never canceled! When I signed and went in myself to cancel! They are also saying that there is nothing they can do because I never canceled, so they say! Now Im pissed because this planet fittness is 20 mins from my house ! Now once again I have to drive up there and cancel for the second time!! And no one is going to refund me the fees they took out even after I went in to cancel .. train your workers better!
