I moved here site unseen from out of state and I Love this place, the apartment was much more than I expected, clean and so much room. My Dog Cody also is enjoying the cool little dog park. It was a pleasant surprise. I can call Princeton Place home
I got an apartment in the cleanest and best way I could Imagine. Very well designed and spacious and convenient location for those working at UMass. So far I can say that it was a very good deal and the place has super responsive and friendly staff.
Love the location. Love the people. This has always been my favorite place to live in Worcester!
Wish i could give more than 5 stars:)Best community, best management, best living environment!Buildings are little but old but there are n things to compensate that fact:)Management is just awesome and any maintenance issue will be addressed ASAP:)Also they conduct many events which will allow you to meet people who live in your community:)Overall one of the best communities i stayed and have no complaints!!!
The staff constantly was losing or misplacing my deliveries. They also advertised that they were pet friendly and even have a dog walk. However, even though I paid 100% of my rent every month until I moved out it wasnt allowed in my building and though I asked every year to be moved to a first-floor dog building I was lied to every time.Dont say that the place accepts dogs when it doesnt. How about telling the truth when people ask to be moved within the complex to exchange a 3rd floor for 1st floor. I had paid 1 years rent and then 2 years rent when I made the request.I moved because I knew my rent was going to continue to go up and the apartment wasnt going to get any better.Definitely are MUCH better places to live in Worcester for the price charged.
We moved to Worcester for my fellowship. The move went very smooth. The apartment was very clean and spacious. There complex was quiet. There were no loud neighbors. Everyone we met was friendly and smiling. The grounds were well kept and more then ample parking! The fitness center and pool were an added bonus. The best part of Princeton place was the staff. Everyone was so very pleasant and courteous. They would go out of their way to help us.All of our maintenance requests were taken care of quickly and done correctly the first time.I would definitely recommend Princeton Place.
I have stayed in Corporate Units at both Princeton Place and Princeton Green for the most part of the last 3 years. The staff at both have been excellent. Very quiet, clean and comfortable living. The maintenance crew responds immediately to even the most minor of issues. Should my work bring me back to this area I would certainly hope they could get me in one of their units again.
Apt. nice / mgmnt very good. Beautifully landscaped. Neighbors friendly. Maintanence responsive and proactive. Very happy at this property. Thank-you.
The staff is SO welcoming and friendly. They do events throughout the year to bring everyone together. I moved up from Georgia for work and they definitely made me feel at home.
These apartments are extremely old and everything in the apartment will show it. Im sick of putting a service request in literally every week or so for the plumbing and heating issues here.I remember seeing reviews on bad mold issues and sure enough around 3 months in the black mold that keeps growing in every corner is there, having asthma this is such a huge issue for me. Its strange they charge so much for these apartments.Every time I go to the office theres a line of people complaining, which is really not surprising. The staff is passive aggressive and rude. Oh! And they enter your apartment whenever they want to for any reason. Me being a female you can imagine, is terrifying to wake up and just see someone in your apartment randomly without any kind of forewarnings. The pool was out of order 90% of the summer.Theres a real insect problem...They planted 3 dandelions outside of the building in the middle of December (?????) and then sent out an email on this huge rent increase for new lease signing. Lol.I do not recommend this place at all, dont make the same mistake I did.Especially for the pricing you can find significantly better apartments.
I lived in this complex for 2 years, it was very nice experience. no problems at all. surprised to read negative reviews. The office staff were great! . Thanks for your hospitality.
I lived here for 3+yrs. The apartment itself was newly carpeted, everything worked. It could use an upgrade, but generally it was just fine to live in. Whenever I needed maintenance work they were prompt to get me squared away and fix it. The property itself you couldnt ask for better amenities; gym, reception area, pool, garbage removal, plowed and shoveled in winter. the parking was safe and abundant, people walked around in nice weather in summer time at night. I felt safe and it was quiet as well. For a student at the nearby medical center, or a professional working in area it is ideal, close to restaurants, bars etc. I enjoyed my stay here and the management always helped me when needed, they were available when prompted etc. I recommend it, it seems to work for families as well. My unit had two bathrooms. The price appeared a bit steep, but I see now that it was for the amenities the place provided, but these were highly under utilized by me. Also, the area and complex itself is set back from road a bit so I never felt unsafe with my vehicle etc. My unit was on the first floor in bldg. 10 and except for one stretch of loud people above me I never was bothered by my neighbors.
3 start for the 3 years I lived here. I had no problem until the third year. Mold started developing in the bathroom .I put a maintenance complaint and nothing was done. At that time My spouse was 4 months pregnant. 2 months went by and still nothing was done. I then gave a 6 weeks notice that I would be moving out.The whole thing turned out, that I have to pay 2 months rent for not giving 2 months notice. I didn’t want to move in the first place. I had to protect my family due to poor living conditions.
I do not hate this apartments. But I am so disappointed in the fact that, there is no form of maintenance and the rents keeps going up. I have personally been to the office more than 5 times within 3 months for maintenance work that is suppose to be done in my apartment, and nothing has been done up till date. I recently renewed my lease, just to find out, rents have been increased with no notification. I dont know what else to do to get the maintenance work done in my apartment that to give me candid and solid review about what I am experiencing at my apartment
My biggest and only beef with this place is the rude attitude of the property manager and a few members in the leasing office. Kristen the current property manager yells at me every time I walk into the leasing office for whatever reason it is. And today I was yelled at by her over the phone. Even after confronting her about her constantly interrupting the conversation and her not listening, she was not ready to accept it. A few other members of the leasing office are always mean to me when I go to collect my packages or just visit the gym.I requested them nicely several times in person and over the phone but nothing was done about it. It is plain racist behavior aimed at some residents. Yes, the quality of the apartment is poor but the rent is expensive. The maintenance team usually does a quick job in fixing requests. Other issues are bearable but not the mean behavior from the office staff. I recommend anyone in search of an apartment to stay away from this place.
I would love to rate this higher, but I cannot. The GOOD: The grounds, apartments are spacious, everything is new and apartments are clean. The BAD: Agree with some other reviewers, management is just plain RUDE and Im surprised people tolerate this, Im glad I got out when I did. You can find better experiences for less.
They donated a couch to me! We good, Princeton! I will definitely be thinking of this place next time I relocate just for the management and staff alone!!
It’s not bad but for the high price it does leave much to be desired. The walls are thin so I hear everything my upstairs neighbors and neighbors in general are up to. It always feels cold.. especially in the winter time no matter how high you crank the heat. Which I imagine is due to the fact that the pipes are not super up-to-date. For some reason my electric bill here especially in the winter compared to other places I’ve stayed, is really high. (I only have heat on in my bedroom, door closed) . The cabinets etc could use some remodeling very old dated feel to them.. Like I said, nice place but you just will constantly feel like you shouldnt be paying so much for the overall quality of the apartment.
When I first moved in here, I had no issues at all with the staff, or the property. However, towards the end of my 2nd year here everything came unraveled. My old roommate moved back to North Carolina in June of 2020 and I had someone else move in to take his place. We werent charged at all until August 6th, then all of a sudden theres a 2000 dollar charge on our portal, which of course they expected us to pay all at once in the middle of a pandemic. When I informed the property manager Kristen about the poor attitude of a few of her employees, she told me sometimes we get caught up in the business of collecting rent. If somebody is paying 100s of dollars over the national average for a very medicore living space, the least you can do is have some compassion for someones situation, especially if they created that situation. It isnt the worst place in the world, but look out if you need assistance with anything that doesnt go along with the staffs daily routine.
This comment might be subject but this is really what I am feeling right now. We are the new residents and the management of the property especially the hand-over among tenants is horrible. Well, firstly, if you move in you will find nothing to complain about the apartment except some no-electricity outlets, the roaring refrigerator and ACs. BUT That is only for temporary. What makes the whole experience really sucks is that the previous tenants of the unit we moved in left hills of waste for us and the management board DID NOT CONFIRM WITH US at all about the statement only because the previous tenants said that we are going to leave some stuffs for our close friends. That is a good excuse to use for every tenant who wants to avoid their responsibility of cleaning the apartment when moving out and knows the next scapegoats. After trials of emailing the former tenants, who will obviously not respond, the manager called and informed us that we need to get rid of the stuffs on our own. Without getting any appologies or comforting words, now we, the ones who pay the high price and just moved in, have to do the job for the previous tenants, while the whole thing can be avoided just by an confirming email with US when they told the lie. And guess what, I am pregnant for 31 weeks. THAT IS A REALLY PERFECT BABY SHOWER GIFT!!!------------2019-6-18Updated review and commentHi Sarah, thank you for reply. I have received the call from the manager and we work out the solution together by having some folks help us moving these garbages out. I appreciate your help and quick action after seeing my complaint on the internet. People will not usually leave weared socks, period pads, beer bottles and toilet brushes to their friends, right? These are the things that really drive me mad when what I expected is a well-cleaned apartment. And as I know from the managers call that they only made an oral statement about leaving things behind. Anyway, thank you for the reply.
I lived at Princeton Place for a year and a half and had a great experience. I will list all of the reasons why I loved living here.1. I work at UMass and the commute is less than 5 minutes. It is nice to be able to run back home if you forget your badge or your lunch. The worst part of the commute is going through the route 9 intersection and also the fact that you don’t have time to listen to a podcast like the doctors commuting from Boston do.2. The snow removal is amazing. They plow throughout the night so when you wake up early to go to work, all you have to do is clean your car and the parking lot is smooth sailing. Also, superheros come out and magically clear all the sidewalks and stairways. Additionally, the complex is right next to main roads which are routinely plowed so you will have no difficulty getting to UMass during and after a snow storm.3. Online Bingo during the Winter is awesome, helps with the gloomy weather and management has awesome prizes! I have to say that this is the best managed property I have ever stayed at. They throw holiday parties, are responsive to maintenance requests, hold all packages to protect them from porch pirates and were very reasonable when I had to break my lease. They are also reasonable with returning your security deposit when you move out!4. The archway leading into the living room is a nice touch. Also, it is so convenient having laundry in the unit. The best thing is having a balcony, hanging flowering plants and sitting outside drinking coffee during warmer months. The amenities are great and who wouldn’t want the option to play tennis, workout in the gym, go swimming or have a place for your dog to do his business?5. I never really had a problem with noise. Sometimes you can hear kids through the walls but it isn’t excessive. The walls are insulated enough. A white noise machine will help anyone get a good nights rest. I also felt safe and never had any issue with homeless or transients walking around the premises.Do you work or go to school at UMass and are looking for somewhere to live? Look no further! This place is a great option.
Top 5 reasons not to choose Princeton Place:1. much more expansive than others apartments nearby;2. Noisy: workers mow the lawn every morning and trains are running day and early night;3. Mean manager and staff, do not believe their fake smile;4. You are stuck once you sign a contract. They charge your very high lease break fee (2-4 months) no matter how long you have lived there;5. Very slow maintenance. It took 3 weeks to repair a broken shelf on fridge door.
Fair share of problems-Some suspicious guy always sitting in a car beside the dumpsters watching you. raises concern over ID theft.-Times are not visible on door so staff can come and go as they please.-Office closes 10min prior to 6pm so if your trying to get your parcel after work forget about it.-Older ladies in the office can be rude, Ie truning up music loud while you are trying to use your laptop and yapping loudly.-Rent is raised after the end of every year.Pros-Maintenance guys are very reliable.-Snow is always removed fairly quickly.-Well kept shrubs, trees, grass.-Good location.
I am a little confused reading through all of these reviews of Princeton Properties. I lived at Princeton Place for a little over a year and want to address some of the concerns brought up by previous reviewersDumpster Watchman: Yes, a man does sit in his car by the dumpsters. I, too, was creeped out by this in the beginning; however, I asked about him at the office and discovered that he monitors the trash. Recently, he hasnt been watching the trash as often, probably due to a previous comment. Since then I have seen the trash pile up two-three times during the week and management need to call for additional pickup. It is clear to me that he helps cut down on people illegally dumping their trash at our dumpsters.Indian population: Yes, there is a majority population of Indian families. This is no surprise due to the overall Indian population of Worcester/Shrewsbury, and our proximity to the hospitals nearby. It sounds like the previous reviewer is talking about how the cultural norms of these families are different than his/her own - which sounds like xenophobia, or even racism. Have a little tolerance for that which is unfamiliar around you.Price: Yes, Princeton Place is expensive. They do not advertise themselves as low-income or affordable housing, nor do they participate in rate-fixing. The price of rent includes a nice patio, well-kept grounds, swimming pool, playground, fitness center, tennis court, and assortment of grilling areas. There is also a dog park and loads of open parking. I decided to pay a premium for all of these amenities and the overall safety of the complex. Also, of course the rent is raised every year, have you seen the awful economy?Privacy / Noise: A previous reviewer noted that they frequently heard noise from the hallways and ceilings/floors. This is something that I sometimes have a complaint about as well, but this is a problem you will see anywhere. I chose to live here due to the high population of families, because areas with families have a safer atmosphere than other communities. Families are loud. This is the tradeoff. In closing, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time living at PP. I have always found management very helpful and knowledgeable, and have taken to time to meet the residents. Maintenance responds to requests quickly, rent is easily paid online, and the complex is safe. To me, this is a great place to live!
I did not have a pleasant experience attempting to set up a lease with this company. They were supposed to be affiliated with UMass, however, their specials and prices were not as advertised. They also refused to honor a special promo offered through my program. I found the leasing agent extremely terse and unhelpful. There are many other places to rent from. This place is mediocre at best and significantly overpriced.
Great staff, prompt responses to maintenance requests, lots of parking, gym, and pool in the summer. They also have events like NYE, halloween, july 4th where they have food and you meet other tennants! Love it here!
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ESPECIALLY IF YOU WORK AT UMASSYou know its one thing to have incredibly rude and noisy neighbors, utilities/amenities that never work and break easily, construction going on at all hours of the day for 4 weeks straight, parking spots taken away for said construction, and more, but its another to have to worry about parking your car at your apt complex and getting paint spilled on it THEN having to be personally responsible for repairs. This place was not worth what we paid in time, money, stress and frustration. I would look elsewhere. Just unacceptable.**note: any oncoming resident physicians looking to live near by umass, be prepared for noises at all hours of the day and night. As renters who have mixed schedules including some night shifts, it was nearly impossible to get a full nights sleep here. Just FYIAnd to the review that said the noises are normal/common, its not. We have previously lived in complexes in shrewsbury and Worcester without problems like these: walls literally vibrating/shaking, screaming children past 12am, strange music all the time and dogs barking through the evening.
