Had a fan in my computer die (made a LOT of noise) so I took it to Alfa on the suggestion of my wife, who had taken her computer there for service. They put in a new one but it ran all the time and never shut off. I called them to ask I this was normal, they said they had put a heavy duty on in my computer and if I brought it back theyd replace it with a quiter one. They did and at no cost! Very pleased with their prompt and courteous service, not to mention the no-charge change-out. Very happy and very pleased.

A couple of years ago, my laptop was bricked after installing a Microsoft update that was later recalled. Im an accountant and was in the middle of tax season and I had a bunch of important files that were not yet backed up. My hard drive also used TPM encryption which means that my chip had a unique signature. And of course I stored the keys on the encrypted hard drive! Alfa Computer somehow worked their magic and were able to not only fix my laptop with a new hard drive, but also decrypted and recovered all of my files. They even held on to old drive for a couple months to make sure I had time to go through all of my files and make sure everything I needed was properly recovered. Ive used them multiple times after that and will never go anywhere else!

Alfa Computer saves the day again. The latest Microsoft Update messed up my entire computer. Was unable to use my Function keys, couldnt change the screen settings and I could barely see what was on my computer. Entire programs were deleted without my consent including my preferred browser (which was not MS coincidentally - harumph) I was in the middle of something important- taxes to be exact - and my PC was basically useless. I called and the owner took the time right then and there to remotely fix my PC settings and restore software that had been deleted.They charged me a reasonable rate and did not take advantage of my situation. I use them for all my PC problems and they have never disappointed. Now all I need to do is figure out how to stop Microsoft from messing around in my PC again. Love, love, love these guys.

Ive been using Alfa for years. They are quite reliable and there prices are amongst the lowest.This time was a battery replacement for my Mac for only $140. Way below the Apple approved vendors, and Im sure Ill be fine for years.The only negative was the wrong battery was initially ordered (but I was able to keep my Mac during all this), but that was due to the fact that Apple had three changes of the internals under that same version number printed on the laptop. However, checking the software in About My Mac displays which of those three insides is truly in my Mac.

Alfa computer has worked on a number of my personal and professional computers over the past several years. The staff are extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and professional and I have always been totally satisfied with the work they have done. Their costs are quite reasonable and they get the work done quickly. I was recently out of town and had my computer crash and took it to a large well known computer service at a big box store. I was about to complete a really big project for work and had to get the data from the computer out with within a few days. After two days the service told me everything on the hard drive was lost and they would have to send it out to another state to fix it and that the cost could reach the thousands. When I returned home, I instead took it to Alpha and they retrieved everything in one day at a nominal cost. I cant say enough good things about Alpha Computer.

I have been using Alfa as my source for computer equipment, service and support since the days of Win95 and boat anchor monitors. Whenever its been time to upgrade, theyve listened to what I was doing with my computer and come up with a right sized solution.The thing that I value most about Alfa is their support. Theyve been my own little IT department. Because of Alfa, I have never had to spend hours in help line hell trying to figure out what my computer problem really was. Often, theyve been able to help me fix a problem over the phone. Sometimes theyve needed to poke around inside my PC via the Internet. When Ive had to resort to dropping my PC at their shop, Ive always left knowing it would be done right and when promised.

Be caution! Not as good as mentioned in other reviews. Use cheap third-party replacements with a non-cheap service (a little higher cost than other local stores). The worse is missing some small parts after their careless reassembly, for example: a connection of camera/microphone.

I am always a satisfied customer at Alfa Computer. Walk-in service is probably one of the most attractive features of this store, as well as the camaraderie and willingness to share knowledge. As we have all experienced, bad things happen to our computers suddenly and unexpectedly. So we run for help. I always run to Alfa Computer. The longest time they kept my laptop was five days because my Encryption key had been stolen and was being held for ransom. All my files were rebuilt by Alfa and once again legible. Alfa also added some much needed security software, which was very inexpensive and does a great job at protecting my data. I highly recommend this establishment.

Our companys computer server picked up a bad virus and stopped working on all of our work stations. We called Alfa computer and Tan came right out to our location. In short order he had it fixed so we could get back to work. But what he did next was even better. He installed anti-virus software that Alfa computer sells and monitors in real time on all of our computers. That was a couple of years ago and we have not had a problem since. Its not easy to find people like this that are good at what they do and want to help you and your business. If you have computer or network problems, call Tan and company so you can get back to taking care of your business. We did and its was one of the best business decisions we ever made.

All of the staff at my church rely on my computer to operate as server. I thought I was in trouble when I heard the load clattering of the fan falling to pieces right in front of me at 5 pm! But I wasnt in trouble because I called Alpha Commuter and Tan and Joe said bring it over. I did and within 15 minutes they had installed a new fan at a very reasonable price. I depend on my computers for a lot of things; therefore it’s important to always keep them running trouble free. When a virus brought down the hard drive in my home office computer, Alfa Computer was able to retrieve data that I thought was lost. They had me back up and running within one day at a very reasonable price. They improved the speed of another computer by installing a much faster solid-state hard drive. They have also saved me time and money when they have fixed problems remotely via the internet. I live in Dorchester, but even if I lived farther away I would continue to use them exclusively due to their integrity and the quality of service they deliver.
