Well loved mechanic in the Winter Garden area. This place was recommended to me when we first moved to the area. We have had multiple positive experiences with them. They have a reputation for being honest and fair in their service and prices. Word has gotten around though so you may have to wait a bit for an appointment.

Mike is a man of integrity! We just moved to the area and one thing I prayed about was finding an honest mechanic as they are rare gems, I was blessedly led to Mike. Prayers answered. We’ve taken 2 vehicles to him and he hasn’t charged a penny!! One vehicle he referred us to a collision center as unbeknownst to us whatever we ran over destroyed our under carriage. The other vehicle he has said needs a catalytic converter, given the age of the vehicle and not knowing what has caused the part to go bad, he was very informative and friendly in offering his expert opinion…once again didn’t charge for looking at it and his time. He hasn’t received a penny of our money (yet) but he is our mechanic from here on out! Thanks Mike and team!!

Highly recommended before I came here and did not disappoint. Very responsive and honest. I got quotes from others before coming here and this was not only a better price but instilled confidence that they would stand behind their work. About a week later I was getting a noise from one of the areas they worked on, they had me bring it in immediately and fixed it that day. Very happy with their service.

I just want to say, nothing more than, just a AWESOME experience at Mike the Mechanic Shop. I am from out of town, my engine light came on, I Googled and found this Auto Repair Shop, on a Friday-eve of 4th of July 2021 weekend. What a Blessing, I stumbled on Brad/Mike at this location. I’ve taken my vehicle to Mike the Mechanic two times. Both of my visits were great experiences. They diagnosed my problems without charging me and set me up with the best plan forward to repair and maintain my car. In particular, Brad, who serves in the office communicated professionally, clearly and helpfully. I’d definitely recommend their services!

I have had a hard time communicating withBrad. He is not understanding at all. They did not fix my problems after spending over $3000.00 but instead told me to just sell the car.He has said we have taken the car to 15 othershops. I’m not sure where he got this informationbut it is incorrect. Most of his reply is erroneous. This shop dropped the ball on this repair. They have parts that are to be replacedUnder warranty by the manufacturer. They now say they parts put are not defective with out ever checking the codes. They will not replace them even though there are under warranty. Brad just says he is not going “toEat” this expense because the parts are not defective. I just want the parts and take them to Ford for replacement.

This is the short version of my experience. Ive been holding this review for a few months because I was awaiting details from the dealership. I took my vehicle to (Mike the Mechanic) to have my A/C repaired because it was blowing hot. The diagnosis that I later received from (Mike the Mechanic) was that my compressor was bad, so I permitted them to replace the compressor.After that repair, I was told by Mike the Mechanic that my A/C was blowing like new, but it wasnt. It was still blowing hot. I immediately brought it back to Mike the Mechanic, and after several conversations with their rude receptionist (Brad), multiple replaced parts, and 2 weeks without a car Mike the Mechanic concluded that it was a bad PCM Causing my A/C to misfire. I was told they dont handle PCM issues and sent out the door with no fixed A/C and a $1065 bill.I ask for my old parts so that I could have them tested and I was told no because the Mechanics threw them out. I asked for at least some of my money back so that I could put it towards the dealership diagnostic fee and I was denied, disrespected, and kicked out of the shop. I lost my job, my time, and my money dealing with Mike the Mechanic. And The receptionist (Brad) proceeded to tell me in his words I quote “You are a grown man, you should have found a way to get to work. Its not mine or the shops fault”Brad had no idea of my circumstances at that time. I called him out on how immoral he was and It took everything within me to hold my composure, but I have never felt so humiliated by an establishment. They gutted my car and my wallet. Shortly after dealing with Mike the Mechanic I took my car to the dealership and got a proper diagnostic. They replaced the coolant relay which was the primary reason for my A/C blowing hot air and cost me $197. My A/C is now blowing cold as Ice 🧊 .The dealership even reported back to me in writing that my PCM is in perfect shape. I tried multiple times to speak to the shops owner so that I could relay this information to him personally, and maybe come to some arrangements and handle things reasonably, but the receptionist (Brad) holds all the power. So, I have never had the opportunity to speak with the owner. I have filed a complaint through B.B.B, and I am awaiting further information so that I can move forward with this issue; However, Covid restrictions have slowed down the legal process. I would never recommend this place to any friends or family. I trusted the reviews, but I have now learned reviews don’t always matter. The mechanics at this shop had no idea as to why my A/C was not working. My vehicle was simply an experiment that they could not figure out. Do not take your car here.

Have had a great experience with Mike the Mechanic both times I have brought a car to him. Replaced the alternator and fixed a problem with the gear shift linkage the first time. Fast, good price, quality work.Next time we had problems with what appeared to be an ignition problem to us. Took it there and they spent time to test it multiple times to get a good sense of what it was doing. Determined the fuel pump relay was the problem and they quickly got the part and got it fixed just before the holidays.Very satisfied customers.

Brought my car in with an A/C issue and they got the problem diagnosed and fixed promptly. It took more time for the parts to be shipped to the shop than it did for them to fix the problem. Brad at the front desk was upfront and honest about everything from the beginning regarding diagnosis and pricing and the timeline to get it fixed. I really appreciated his honesty throughout the process. The only reason this place won’t get a 5 star rating from me is because of the off putting vibe I received from the owners during my visits. They didn’t make an effort to be friendly at all. However that doesn’t take away from the quality of work at the shop as they got my A/C working properly again which is all I care about. I’ll be back again the next time I have an issue.

Took my car in for an oil leak. They took a look at it and told me the price but also gave advice because of the age of my car that even if I spent all the money the issue could happen elsewhere. They didn’t sacrifice professionalism for profit. I highly recommend them as they are extremely trust worthy.

Much more affordable than other auto shops and mechanics. However, I was not informed of additional issues presented with my vehicle before I left afterwards. Called them and all they said was that I can come back to get it looked at. I literally just left from there and its not like it is next door from my place...

I doubt I’ve ever met a more honest man in my life. I’ve been taking my vehicles to Mike for many years & there have been so many times he could’ve charged me for something he didn’t & made money off of repairs I thought I needed, but he told me I didn’t.He even found an oil leak on a brand new truck I had bought & told me to take it back to the dealer & make them fix it. He even took me out & showed me exactly where it was on the vehicle so I could show the dealer.I recently had gone somewhere closer to my house for a repair & they wanted $618 to fix it. I brought it back to Mike & he did it for $250.Even though I live 25 minutes away now, it’s still worth it to me to make the drive. They always do a great job & never rip me off.

They were great! Did a complete safety check of my daughters first vehicle and performed repairs timely. Professional communications and prompt service made me feel confident the repairs were needed and performed properly. So, a friend recommended Mike the Mechanic after AAA said alternator needed replacement. Firestone quoted us $590 and the dealer $1,000. Mike the Mechanic quickly determined it was the battery and not the alternator. I had Purchased a battery at costco which they used to replace old one. They wouldn’t even charge me for the testing they did and installing the new battery. Thank You Brad, that’s amazing customer service.

My silverado check engine light went on and kept throwing rich fuel codes. I tried replacing the MAF and spark plugs, but no luck. Took my truck here and they did a full diagnostic. Turned out it was showing too high of an alcohol content in the fuel. They reset it and told me how to prevent it from occurring again. Even better is the diagnostic was free of charge. Thank you!

After putting off a brake change and then having them fail on me, I took my truck to Mike the Mechanic. They were running a couple of days behind with vehicles but managed to fix my brakes quickly, and for an awesome price.Super friendly, knowledgeable (asked all the right questions at drop-off) and helpful. My car broke down coming off the Florida Turnpike. A wrecker stopped to help us out. He said that he recommended Mike The Mechanic. We dropped it off overnight and filled out their drop off form. They jumped on it that day and got it repaired. They seemed to be reasonable, but I dont know. They were very polite and got me back on the road quickly. The same day actually. I really appreciated them jumping on it since I was out of town and really needed to get it repaired and back.

Big fan, 5 stars, family owned shop. Just moved to the area and saw their great reviews on Google and now I know why. Headquarter Honda wanted to charge me $600+ dollars to fix a power steering and power window issue. Mike did it for $250. That was 2 weeks ago and everything is working great.

I came in thinking my truck was dying and needed thousands in repairs. It took Luis, one of the mechanics 5 seconds to find out what was wrong. The lovely lady inside ordered the parts in 5 minutes and my truck was in the lift before I knew it. Awesome experience, excellent service and exceptional prices. This is my mechanic for life.

I brought my PT Cruiser into Mike’s shop at 2pm yesterday. Within 5 minutes, it was up on the jack. Mike brought me back to see and walked me through everything that was wrong in a way that I understood. He asked if I wanted to fix minor issues that didn’t affect my safety. I told him no and he didn’t push it on me. I was given an written estimate and an estimate on when he would be done. He quoted me 4pm. When I picked up my car, it started without a squealing noise on the first try, and the AC worked. It was like driving a new car. This was my first visit. Two stars because I’m still on the fence about the repair work done to my vehicle. The reason being is that I called to have the previous repair looked over again because the oil leak seemed worst. This happened gradually over several days.A lady answered the call and once I explained who I was and what was done. She advised that she’d look up the repair. She further advised per the shop notes that I did NOT return the vehicle to check for leaks after the repair as advised. Now, my issue is that when I picked my vehicle up. I was told that the repair areas and excess oil had in fact been been cleaned after the repair to specifically identify any additional oil leaks and that the oil leak in no capacity existed. I understood this clearly as a satisfied customer. So, I politely challenged the lady about what I was told regarding the leak at the time I picked the vehicle up. She again advised that the system notes said otherwise.I honestly don’t know what was put into the system as far as notes, but that was not my understanding when I picked the vehicle up. Why would I pick the vehicle up if it’s still leaking oil. The defeats the purpose of taking the vehicle to the shop in the first place.My plan is to have another mechanic look at my vehicle. The stars could go either way based on his opinion. I will add that I put a lot of thought into any three star and below rating. To level set, I’m not upset at anyone at Mike the Mechanic. I am just merely detailing my experience, which wasn’t bad from a customer service stand point.Both service advisors were friendly, thoughtful and offered some advice regarding length of time to complete the repair. So, no issues there. Mike himself is not very gregarious and that’s probably his personality.Being fair to all parties. I will provide an update.Update: took my vehicle to another mechanic. He thoroughly cleaned the engine to get an understanding of where oil might be leaking. He diagnosed the leak in 5 minutes. Once, he pulled the front timing chain cover off. He showed me where the oil was leaking.All in all, I just don’t have the confidence to take any of my vehicles to Mike the Mechanic. After viewing the timing chain cover, the oil leak was pretty obvious. I’m not doubting that the oil seal needed replacing as that was Mike’s original diagnosis. Anyhow, this was my first visit to Mike the Mechanic. My review is not personal, but it is based on my experiences and it’s just a business decision.I posted a picture of the oil leak after I left Mike the Mechanic. I can unequivocally say, that I was not throwing kitty litter down in my driveway prior to the visit. So, my conclusion on what really happened too make the leak worst is inconclusive. I do feel that not enough was done to properly identify the leak from the get go.

I read the reviews and figured Id attempt this place. I fully agree with every negative experience as I also had to endure over a day with no result. Dropping my car off for my scheduled appointment at 7:30am, I was told it would be there for the day. I assumed that meant they would diagnose and work on it with figuring the necessary repairs within 24hrs. I called them just past 11:30am to check on the progress only to find out they havent even looked at it. I then called after 3pm to be told my car would be next on the lift. Knowing they close at 5:30pm, I again called around 5pm, needing an answer to then figure out transportation to work the next day only to be told they just started looking at it and wont have time till tomorrow to diagnose it. At that point I told them to finish anything they started so I could bring it elsewhere. In the end, I wish there was any form communication and a reason to even set an appointment if work wont start until the end of their business day. Unfortunately they take on too much work with not enough time or mechanics to take care of the customer in a timely manor.

Mike the Mechanic is a great place to get our car serviced.

My van was towed to Mikes mechanic shop and told us that the engine needs to replacement. I heard the engine sounded normal. So I have decided to take my van to another mechanic shop! The second mechanic told me that it is only water pump, hoses and radiant replacement NOT the engine. Mikes mechanic wasnt honest and asking for high cost. So The 2nd mechanic shop (Not Mikes mechanic) saved me over $4,000! Also I have found the mechanic left my car key on the outside door! Please do not recommended to go to Mikes mechanic!

He used to be very good and very reasonable.The last four times I took my vehicle to him he was way overpriced. For example he wanted $450 to fix my drivers window. I am not a mechanic and fixed it for $50 and twenty minutes. I think hes got so much work he can just blow people off like that.

I was visiting my daughter and my alternator went out. I called Mike and he said they were really busy, but since I was in no hurry, he agreed to fix it. Later the same day they called and the car was finished! I couldnt believe it! Ryan was so professional and courteous and I was completely satisfied!

While visiting relatives in Orlando It seemed like my brakes were grinding. I took my Jeep into Mikes. After a test drive he let me know that all the lug nuts were only finger tight and 3 were missing! Everyone at that shop is just awsome. I had a pain in the but evaporator sensor that was bad and Mike worked with me to get it fixed. Also was able to get it fixed at a fraction of the cost others were going to charge me. I will be recommending anyone I know there and will bring my car back in the future. Thanks to Mike and all his A+ STAFF.

Mike has helped me so many different times its ridiculous. I dont go anywhere else!My friend was having trouble with her car and I told her to come here, but she didnt listen at first. The shop we went to next to Magic Kingdom told her she had numerous problems and needed different things fixed. Her estimate was over $1,000. Then she went to Mikes. Her estimate was $150. No gimmicks and not trying to get your money. Honest hard working man and family.
