My experience with S.O.A.R. Tutoring and Advocacy was amazing. Melanie was the BEST advocate to handle my son’s annual IEP. She was by my side every step of the way- Through the emails all the way to the end of the meeting. I received everything my son deserved and it is because of her knowledge and passion in the IEP process that made it possible. She made a very stressful situation, easy all while getting my son everything he needed. I would highly recommend her!!!Ashley
“Our tutor has just the right combination of patience, knowledge, and creative delivery to connect with my child in a productive way. Whether for EOG preparation or supplemental instruction year-round, she is the most talented and effective tutor to ever work with my daughter. I found her to be professional, committed, and quite charming and offer her my highest recommendation.”-Anne Marie
When we recognized a few disconnects in our daughters progress at school - we felt lost, overwhelmed, and uncomfortable with the future. After a friends recommendation - we talked with Mary Beth and Donna at SOAR. They assessed our daughter, offered us a game plan, provided us with one of the best Orton-Gillingham tutors in town (Coach Connie!!), and now our daughter is back on track to be a very successful 2nd grader! (Yes, we call our tutor a Reading Coach...after all, if you want to get better at soccer, you have a soccer coach; Want to be a better reader? You need a Reading Coach!)Early intervention is key. Playing the wait and see game was not in our plan. The team at SOAR has helped us navigate the IEP/504 world in public school and showed us how to advocate for our child. We are so thrilled with her response to the intervention, we also have SOAR work with our older son on math and test-taking skills, and our youngest son, who is preparing for kindergarten. Yes, it is definitely an investment in time and resources, but hearing our daughter read her own birthday cards this year and realizing she could do it, makes it a sacrifice we will make over and over again.
