I ALWAYS have problems with this place. The workers have attitude, extremely rude, they do not care about your living situation; like AT ALL, they never pick up, they never call back. It’s always a problem when an employer says your still active even when your not. No matter how long it’s been. The people working here are weird and just careless. They need workers who actually care about people. This is ridiculous.

Never got a call back. Called every number i could find related to this department. Finally, I got in touch with someone who was not even related to my case. Whose helping who? You give people a quick notice in the mail with a return by date, they try to follow procedure (fill paperwork out, give answers to nonsense questions, handover documents, keep in touch with any changes, leaving numerous voicemails etc.) We should not have to track down someone to speak with. Are we doing your job for you because thats what it feels like. Just my thoughts.

They are very helpful in our community .They are doing covid 19 procedures .you do have to fill out a lot of stuff by hand if you cannot do it by computer but make sure you are signing everything .they said if anybodys in need to please come by.they said they could see what we qualify for .I was they to do other business. But I wanted to share this info .but I do know that there are many people applying and many people needing help.please make sure to go by and see what you qualify for and what is offered to you right now during this hard time

Dear people, Are you trying to just do your job? Or are you helping people. Me and sister needed help. She never got the help that she needed. The social workers make money off of families breaking apart and being depressed. I expect better from people who went to college and try to make a living from working there. I want to speak to a director in the morning. There had got to be a way to change their mindset about others. I deserved to be heard and I want these people to hear about my testimony! I hope you learn a lesson from this... you people! My sister never deserved this, and you don’t deserve your job!
Went to get a free flu shot and was treated like a preferred customer and the attending nurse had a great smile and soft touch with her needle. I was very pleased and happy to get the flu shot and not spend$50. I didnt have
I expected to have a long day with a mad house of unorganized and stressed filled people. I was way off the mark. This is one of the most organized and professional group of people I have ever met. Great job! Forsyth County knows how to run a busy with exceptional customer service.

100 thumbs down. I’ve encountered some of the rudest workers ever in life at this DSS. I’m not sure why people even get into the positions if they are going be unprofessional, have bad attitudes and be rude. People who need public assistance already have a tough road and it makes it harder when you have to encounter disgruntled and rude workers with piss poor attitudes.
I called to get help paying a bill but they told me they couldnt help me cause I had no children under 18, which is a disappointment due to the fact my wife is in her 60s and we both have medical conditions
They are always very friendly and helpful when you have to go and deal with them. Now I will reccomend anytime you have to go here to handle anything to arrive early in the am, they are way faster and its always hardly anyone there.

It’d be nice if they answered their phones. Called so many times to reach my caseworker and never got an answer. Would leave multiple voicemails, still no call back. Go up there, finally get ahold of my caseworker. Then she tells me she will call me within a day or two to inform me about my FS and it’s been two weeks, and it’s nothing but crickets again. I hate dealing with these people. They have one job, answer your damn phone and help the people that need the damn help. My god.
I appreciate the services I receive from here and Im thankful. The workers could be A LOT BETTER but when you have MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS, and COWORKERS who all act very POORLY in showing customer service or show they that regret their job no one really cares about complaints anymore. Also, I like how when you call they lie about reaching the CALL CENTER 😂 then it says we have High call volume so call back at another time 👎🏼 then hangs up 😳. They should fix that or actually get enough workers to answer MORE than 14 calls in OVER 15 minutes like most call centers there are reps that do that. I dont get looked down on when I come here but you can tell that most of them that sit behind their desk in the front lobby with the numbers really NEED TO RETIRE because theyre getting old and they really dont show kindness what so ever. I wish I could take pictures but that wouldnt do anything either.

I have dealt with them for a few years now. I wish I did not have too but.... I have only had issues with getting through to someone. But I understand they are consistently busy with other calls. Everyone I have spoken with has been respectful and helpful. It does help when you are respectful to them. It will get you much further then going in with a mindset that they wont help. people must understand their jobs are difficult and alot of times delivering bad news to clients daily. It takes a toll on them when they are treated bad by people. I know this because I work with insurance and I get yelled at by patients daily. Take a step back and understand where and what they are coming from. Thank you
I hate dealing trying to deal with anything with Social Services. I am trying to cancel Medicaid for my son because he can go onto my insurance through my work and after 2 months... I have not received a phone call back or anything. I have left numerous messages. My case working avoids any contact with me. I am trying to do the right thing but I am getting no help. I just want to get my child off Medicaid and on to my insurance but cant without them stating he is no longer eligible.However, I have met 2 really nice and very helpful there throughout my years of being on Medicaid. they were truly amazing and got whatever I needed done. But this absolutely insane. 2 months of non-stop calling and leaving voicemails. Either way no one ever responds. Very annoying.
I have a food stamp worker who refuses to let me speak to her about anything. I had a review paper that I turned in back in March for a February review. I already knew food stamps would be late, but I heard nothing for 2 months. I went down to the office and was told by the receptionist that they have switched over to a new system which had everything off and NOBODY could see their worker. I consulted with my medicaid worker about this and she was able to look in the system and see that I had turned in everything they had asked me for and it was showing in their system. I continued to call almost everyday. No answer. Finally after 2 1/2 months, she decides to pick up the phone and as soon as I say hello, she starts fussing me out and telling me she is tired of my games???????!!!!!!! I asked to speak to her supervisor. The supervisor finally on the phone but puts me on speaker with the worker in the room. Now they both are hounding me like I am a criminal and stating that I need to get proof from a school that I never attended, I need to get a form from her about my current school and then to top it off when I actually go back down there to the office, she tells me that she needs verification of my military and self-employment benefits that I do not have. When I asked her what type of verification should I get, she immediately said, You know what, dont worry about it because I am going to have the Fraud Department look into your case anyway!!!!!?????Now what did I do?And the saddest thing about it is I used to work at Social Services for 4 1/2 years they treated me like trash and now this?All the workers there are under paid and mad to give out services to people who THEY feel are deserving of it.If you do not LIKE PEOPLE, dont get a job working with THE PUBLIC.Its as simple as that....
I dont have any trouble with them. But... if it was something I needed right away and I cant get through on the phone, the best thing is to just go down there in person. Maybe I just got lucky but I was surprised at how quickly I was able to get in there and get in front of a person. That was years ago. I have had to get those food stamps again while I have been in college and I really have no trouble with it. Oh yeah... you really need to try out the hotdog guy with the stand up by the street! His stuff is great!!
I call and call and they never return a call. I leave a message and the purpose of the call and the return number to call. They will not call. I do not like the place. I think something strange is going on at Forsyth County DSS. Do hiw do tbey get a 3.2 average? All lies. What the heck does it take to get one to call you? Been there. Not that busy.
They need more grant writing n programs to help the people. To many people get turned away .

This has to be the most unprofessional, incompetent county office in the state. First of all, they dont return phone calls. If you do manage to get through to a worker, they will probably be rude. The worker I was transferred to answered the phone with an abrupt, HELLO?! as if I had interrupted her conversation with a friend, and she was annoyed that she had to do her job. She didnt introduce herself, or anything. I could tell by her attitude that she wouldnt call me back as promised. Second, they will take up until the last minute to process your application, even if you bring everything they need to intake. In my case, they have twice even gone beyond the time limit they have to process, and when I finally got my approval, it was for the wrong amount. Then, I had to request a hearing, and Im still waiting for a phone call in that regard. I am disabled and have a child, and my pantry is empty. I have worked hard for decades, paid my taxes, and this situation is disgusting me. I dont care what kind of workload they have. I was a caseworker myself in Wake county years back, and we were always overworked, but I treated my clients with respect and processed applications and reviews in a timely manner, knowing how much the families needed assistance. I think its time to call a higher authority.

Where to begin? Most of the case workers are definitely rude, unhelpful, and act like they have a problem doing their jobs. They dont return phone calls until they feel like it, if they feel like it, and they only provide help to regulars. They had the nerve to tell me to come back when I dont have a job. ?? Im confused, shouldnt they want people to work? And ummm, youre telling me that because I do work, even if my wages are low, I cant recieve help the one time that I need it, because I do work?? This is the most unprofessional, unproductive, most ridiculous social services office ever. Im convinced. Supervisors and higher ups do nothing when you complain about the service or the way you were treated. Call the government in Raleigh if you have a complaint because the supervisors are just as bad. They are a part of the problem, not the resolution.
My fiance just tried to get information from a Ms. Patton over there, and she insulted him over the telephone. Im reporting her to the director today though I doubt itll do much good. All they have working for them are a sorry bunch of rude, ignorant cows.

Alot of the workers are nice but when you really need the assitance you cant get it. You can be as honest as possible and they reject you. Yet these people come in looking like crack heads get everything... People who can afford cigarettes get the assistance. If you can buy a pack of damn cigarettes for five bucks or more you can afford to buy food!...women going in with their hair and nails done(?) and need help?... Umm hello! Spend that money on food not to pamper yourself. There are people out there that really need the help and cant get it and are turned away. Its so not fair!

My worker never answers the phone, goes straight to voicemail, never returns any of my calls. I go to his supervisor EVERY TIME. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE TO HELP YOU BUT I HAVE HEARD THEM DISCUSS CLIENTS PERSONAL INFORMATION AT THE DESK A LOT OF TIMES. ATTITUDES ARE EXTREMELY AWFUL!!! SOME OF THEM HAVE NO PEOPLE SKILLS. THEN WHEN YOU COME IN FOR HELP THEY LOOKING AT YOU SIDE WAYS!!! THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEED THE HELP CANNOT GET IT. YOU HAVE THESE LAZY PEOPLE WHO LOSE YOUR PAPERWORK ON PURPOSE. THEY KNOW THE JOB THEY APPLIED THEY NEED TO DO THEIR JOB. NOT EVERYONE WHO APPLIES FOR ASSISTANCE HAS 100 KIDS AND JUST NOT WANT TO WORK. I HAVE A ILLNESS THAT CAUSED ME TO BE TAKEN OUT OF WORK PERMANENTLY. I HAVE WORKED MY ENTIRE LIFE AND NOW THAT I NEED HELP FROM THIS PLACE I AM TREATED AS A UNDESIRABLE WHO JUST DONT WANT TO WORK. The people I dealt with were very nice and polite I went there for help for the first time in 2yrs on account of my mother who just got here 2yrs ago and instead of them separating as its separate they added both of us together where we couldnt get any help through liheap program at all. I was very very upset I had not ever in my 30-35yrs of being grown (Im bouta b 51 Jan 30, 2019) been turned down or not eligible I have always been eligible and I was hurt because was so much going on at the time and I was in need but God ALWAYS shines and comes through for me at ALL times I received some money nlin my mailbox that I hadnt counted on and put it on the gas bill so even if you dont get help there is another service that doesnt ever let you down depend on the Lord cuz he sure came through for me!!!! AMEN AMEN
I called 9 times no one answered but then I called 45 mins before they closed and the lady put me on hold for 30 mins she answered me again then transforms me to the wrong person and then hangs up... she had 45 mins before closing how hard is it to answer s question..
Workers were very polite, efficient and patient. Explanations and directions were done exquisitely and was not judged nor did I feel uncomfortable in any way.

I receive food stamps and I also go there but I dont expect the be treated like a prince its the food stamp office they do their job and if you really want anything in life you have to be persistent. ive never had a problem dealing with social services they do a lot of good for ALOT of people
Parking here can be an absolute nightmare. Its damn near impossible to get in touch with case workers. The WIC program is pretty good, efficient, and has adequate facilities. But I dread coming here mainly due to unpredictable availability of parking.
This place is doing much better, Everytime I come over theres a lot of new changes, and the staff are doing a great job.

Called yesterday to ask about the wait time for the energy assistance program so I could still my my 2 yr old down for nap. They told me an hour or less. Ive brought everything I was told I needed & as of now its been over an hour. We still havent been seen yet...? I want to add to my review, changing it just slightly because.... I do know, everywher, (you, me we, I) go, + with enough people like anywhere, some of them are gonna be good, cool, etc. While others approach with a jerk attitude, then remain that way through out all interactions. If you dont go up there often enough to meet more than just one or two people and you get stuck with the sour I can see how I leave a bad taste in your mouth cuz there is a few sos up there.. regarding this day which wasnt totally swell maybe just wasnt my good day there. They still helped me handle my business 🤗😉

This is the worst social service office Ive ever dealt with. Workers never call back and are completely unprofessional. Ive been trying for over 3 months to get our claim done and the only thing we ever received was one email saying our papers had not moved. I cant believe how terrible this place is
The most incompetent county ever. Never pick up the phone or return calls . Close my kids Medicaid and will not reopen it even having all the paperwork on time which was prove not to close it on the first place. Been working on this since June 2015.
The only problem is parking. I love my case worker and everyone was friendly except for front end associates.
Amy Ford was the best caseworker I had she always did her job and helped me with what I needed.....the new caseworker I have I dont deal with her because she act like she doesnt know how to answer the phone and its annoying but long story short its a few that will help out and actually do their job.....and the rest just give excuses I cant say I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone because everyone needs help from time to time but hopefully they will get lucky and get great caseworker like I did
I had a big issue with my son medicaid card and i have been trying to get it fix for two months, finally I had got in touch with the supervisor Jessica Hunter, she was so caring and she worked after hours to do what she had to do to fix this problem! Horrible... tell you that they have all information they need to process your request and you should receive a letter within 10 days. Ehen you dont and call to leave a message, nobody has the decency to call back 40 days and 4 messages later. I know everyone is busy, but at least return a phone call, you get paid to help us and I still work and am one that is paying your salary. Some people abuse the system, but dont let the way you feel about them effect how you help those of us who are busting our butts to make ends meet. Pick up the dang phone and call people back - it takes 2 minutes.

This place is aweful, I had to go to customer care to discuss my fs and the lady with short dark hair talked to me like I was nothing and I was under her . All I asked was is there a closer social services in kernersville and her response was I live in kernersville its not that far of a drive !! Which was way out of line and my response was well when your broke it is far!! She talked to be rudely the whole time during discussing my case . I told the supervisor that worked the front desk about what happened with the very short dirty blonde: brown hair and he said sorry that she would talk to her . Which still doesnt justify the fact that her employees is talking to customers in that way. I told the short dark hair lady that what was reported by my employer was wrong regarding how many hours I worked and what I got paid before taxes and even showed my stub to prove it . Please dont here they are the worst !!
Slow but nice people
Im having the same problems as others who do not receive any notice whatsoever from their workers, or who cannot get in touch with their workers, or get their workers to even return one phone call. I hope to be able to get off disability and not have to deal with these emotionless, uncaring creatures anymore. They act as if they are overworked but if they are, its undoubtedly due to the large number of illegals who are getting benefits without being citizens of this country.
Medicaid office is great and my worker is a god send but food and nutrition is a joke... Left 5 voicemails since last week and no return call or anything. Good luck all, your going to need it lol
I am a Senior on a fixed income. I have heard nothing regarding my food stamps and its been well over a week. My recertification form was filled out a delivered in a timely manner. I find it absolutely irresponsible that DSS does not have to operate on the same principles as the consumer. If the consumer is late, they pay by not receiving services, if DSS is behind schedule, its perfectly fine. This is certainly not the first time, and there has bee no notification, no letter, no nothing to advise me of the status. Its very hard for me, I cant imagine what it is like for families with children.
These people work hard. And there are some really nice decent people here.
They schedule you appointments, mail them to you at their convenience and if you can not make it you are suppose to call them and reschedule but they do not answer the phone. So your benefits may be terminated before they ever begin. Ridiculous service. I have walked in this facility and seen a worker high on pills wobbling around unable to talk straight, standing at the front counter talking about other workers coming in late as she looks like she took too many mental suppressants. smh I also applied for medicaid once and they told me one thing then I had to get in line again and do it all over the next day because they did it wrong. It is so annoying here. Then workfirst worker I dealt with here give me time to go to my doctor and my doctor blatantly wrote me out of work 30 days or until I got on medicines and leveled out chemically due to grieving over death of my mother and loss of my husband of 22 years all at once causing major anxiety and panic attacks. She says I need to find work now and that doctor didnt do the form right. smhhhhhhhhhhh.. This kind of treatment is ridiculous.
