These guys are incredible. I am a new first-time homeowner and wanted to have my furnace checked out before heating season. Two technicians came out for a heater tune-up and stayed far longer than I would have expected in order to check out my system, answer all of my and my father’s questions, and make additional referrals. They were extremely professional and I got to use a coupon I had received as well. Extremely happy I went with this company versus another that has extensive advertising in this area. You have two new customers - Highly recommend.

Service guy told me I need a new system. My gas heater is 7 years old. I dont think so. He basically threatened to have my heater disconnected. Charged me $300. For doing nothing and saying it probably still wont work. 40 years as a home owner. Worst experience ever!!!

Following my review below, a HARP PR person promptly reached out. Going back to their own data, they acknowledged that there was an issue, apologized, and offered to issue a refund. Their initiatives towards achieving customer satisfaction definitely count as good practice. I am therefore changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars.----------------------------------Original review (4 stars)Scheduling was a bit of a mess resulting in a delay. Other than that, routine maintenance went smoothly. The technician was kind and accommodating.

We awoke to water dripping from the upstairs bathroom and soaking the one downstairs. Emergency call to HARP at 7:00 a.m. got us a visit from Chris at 10:00 a.m. He was done by noon, and his work was excellent. Very satisfied customer!!

The job was too big for HARP, but I appreciate their willingness to talk me through what needs to happen, so I could move forward with as much knowledge as possible. Finding a good technician is no easy task, so I just want it to be known that if you choose HARP, always request Zack or Matt for service because not all technicians are created equal. Im big on customer service, quality, and competence and these two gentleman (Zack & Matt) possess all of them. They are both very well rounded technicians and even better human-beings. They take pride in what they do and it clearly shows. For example, my boiler was acting up and Zack never gave up on it until the problem was fixed, unlike many of the technicians who came prior and tried their hand it. And Matt, he noticed issues that actually needed attention and he took care of them without hesitation, which many other technicians have simply ignored.As for the company (HARP) specifically, some areas for improvement that I have found are their lack of in stock parts at times which requires weeks sometimes to receive. And giving the customer an update and letting them know the status of the parts estimated time of arrival would be appreciated. Furthermore, their phone system is a crapshoot because there are times that Ive been fortunate enough to connect to helpful representatives very quickly, but then there are times that Ive waited over an hour on the phone for a representative that was of no help. Additionally, their prices can be a bit high, so be forewarned. And finally, weeding out their bad technicians would be in their best interest for customer acquisition and retention.

Harp delivers as promised. When another ac company said they were a week out from getting a repair to me (totally fine but wanted sooner) and they said good luck getting a person sooner- Harp got a person to me in one day. From the first call in to the final fix they are nice and call and text to keep you updated and informed. Zach was terrific at assessing and explaining the problem and working quickly and professionally. Great customer service, and they work like a well oiled machine, which I guess is appropriate…..

The only reason I’m giving them two stars is because the install technicians were great. HARP came to install our new AC and Furnace on 8/30. At the very end of the install we were told that the wrong equipment was installed. Now I have air blowing out of the wrong vents. It caused our walls and ceilings to sweat when doing laundry. It turns out our equipment was back ordered which leads me to believe they knew we were getting incorrect equipment. I have yet to get an answer from anyone at HARP as to when they will install the correct equipment. All anyone has told me is that a Mike, the service manager will call me. Mike has yet to call me and it has been 4 days. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Totally regret it.

Incredibly responsive, friendly and professional. In terms of customer communication, they completely exceeded our expectations.

I called HARP to service an AC that quit working. As there was no hurry I was able to book a service call around a week later - so no weekend or emergency service.The technician came out and in a couple of hours got my AC working - replaced a couple of capacitors and added 1.5 pounds of refrigerant.I attempted to contact HARP shortly after the service call to get more information - especially what the actual brand and type of capacitors that were replaced. They did not get back to me. I then posted on their FB page and they replied to give them a call. I called and left a message - no return call. I posted again and they again suggested I call. I called again and left a message and no return call. (There had been a call prior to my last message from a number that went straight to my voicemail). Since then they have blocked me from posting on their FB page and removed my comments.My complaint is not only for this horrible service but because I believe that they marked up the prices of the capacitors by over 900%. For two parts that I believe should have cost around $50 they charged me $531. Some markup would have been reasonable but not this much.I was an uninformed person regarding costs and I believe they took me to the cleaners.September 17 update. HARP responded and included that they have noted that I have spoken to their customer relations manager. THAT IS NOT TRUE! A Marcus did call me yesterday but I was not able to return his call prior to his leaving the office. And I have been busy all day today. I will try to contact them late next week.

Called Harp on a Wednesday night after noticing some dripping from our ceiling. They Had someone out by noon the next day to diagnose the issue with the AC in the attic, clear out the drain line, and check out the compressor outside. Our technician Zach was extremely helpful, thorough, and friendly. He went over all of our options from immediate repair to full replacement of our very old AC unit. Looking forward to using Harp for our future HVAC needs—mainly due to the awesome experience we had with Zach.

I was really in a bind with the AC going out in the middle of a heatwave and no solutions within a timely manner. HARP had me back up and running within a week when all others were scheduling months out. The entire experience was impressive from the consultant quickly coming out to assess the job, to the crew arriving on time and getting the service done as promised. Any complications were dealt with effectively and timely. I didnt have the time to research the equipment or cross shop but the experience was so easy and seamless for me I dont even care. Would highly recommend to anyone who asks me.

Luis was awesome, he arrived first and we went over some details and got the site ready for everyone to come and do their work. I had minimal interaction with everyone else, checking in with the electrician to make sure we were on the same page and once everyone knew my expectations and wishes, they went to work making it happen. Site immaculate upon completion, system reviewed and questions answered. Would recommend for the quality of product used, quality of installation team, and warrantee of products used.

Barry performed maintenance on our ac unit. He answered all of our questions. No hidden fees, he let us know what had to be done and how to do it. We could have taken care of the water condensation backup on our own. I am tired of cleaning up water, so had him take care of it. What took him an hour would have taken me four. Beware, you will get swindled in the ‘blink of an eye’ if you don’t pay attention to their hustle:They canceled my scheduled maintenance appointments, twice. Upon the technician’s arrival (third appt.), instead of diagnosing and informing me of the problem and cost for repair, he fixed it without disclosing the repair cost or asking if I agree to it. When he finally disclosed the cost he backed my into a membership for one of their service plans because it would be “cheaper than the cost of the immediate repair.” Nearly $300 to rinse a drain in one minute? My technician is outstanding. Obviously knowledgeable and punctual which is important to me. Beyond that, he is cordial and most easy to talk with. HARP should do what it can to recognize him. He has a young family and appears loyal to HARP. Loyalty is becoming a lost virtue in the working world 🌎 today. If HARP can sponsor a scholarship in Windsor Locks and Windsor High Schools that would be phenomenal. I sponsored a scholarship for a teacher association for over 20 years.. Money should go directly to the school bursars office, not the student. Never had a problem with that guideline and all Students completed their education programs. To me that is important too. If the school wont allow you to pay the college directly, can your scholarship. Im a BOOMER with high standards. We need kids to pursue technical Fields.Bill Provost

HARP recently installed a new boiler combo unit in our home. Our hot water heater sprung a leak late Friday night. By Saturday morning a plumber was here to check it out and when it was found to be unrepairable a salesman was here the very next day, which was a Sunday (without extra charge). The install crew was on time, professional, thorough and hard working. Replacing a hot water heater & boiler is a big job and HARPs ability to do so in 1 day is impressive and was a huge relief especially given we were without hot water and have a small baby. HARP has also serviced our central air unit and boiler in the past. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. Give them a shot you won’t regret it.

Very happy with Harp and our technician Dave! I called in morning due to my central air not working and customer service set up a service call for that same evening and it was clearly explained the service call charge. They do not rip you off by charging additional fees for every 15 mins or hour that it takes to evaluate issue.As promised the technician Dave came with his service truck and ready to repair. He was friendly, knowledgeable, informative and got the job done on my old AC system. I feel confident that in the future when we can replace the central air system that we will be using Harp.My husband and I were very happy that we got same day service and did not have to wait excessive days with warm weather hitting for someone to come out to evaluate & repair like many other companies. We are happy that the repair was affordable seeing we can not afford a new system right now.

Vincent and his team were incredible. Vincent was so kind, professional, and helpful! He explained everything very clearly and really went the extra mile. I hired another plumber in the area last month and felt confused and over charged. Harp was the exact opposite! Everything was clear and the pricing felt totally fair. **Update- no one called to rectify situation, so no, my concern was not addressed, at all! We ended up going with another company that was fantastic and PUNCTUAL! They were able to schedule us for a week after we called to schedule the appointment. Hands down, use any one but HARP.*****************Scheduled an HVAC service in April for July 20- they gave us a 4 hour window, 8-12. They called at 11:00 am the day of scheduled service to inform us that they had techs call out and they would have to reschedule, yet wouldn’t give us a date. A woman Manager ended up getting on the phone and basically told us that service calls were a waste ofMoney, that they won’t prevent your unitFrom breaking… “like an oil change with a car….”????What’s the point of making appointments if the company is going to cancel last minute because “you’re a low priority” (their words, not mine).Terrible business practice!

Follow up: yesterday I had another gentleman out for an estimate on a new gas conversion. He was wonderful, stayed here for 3 hrs. Let my crazy cats purr all over him. it was a $15,000 job. But I never felt pressured. He understood everything I said and gave me his best advice. He ended up leaving without me signing anything and never once had any type of attitude. I feel bad but 24% interest I just cant do .Their technicians are really, really wonderful.The technician himself was great. Very knowledgeable. Very helpful. I had called in on 3 separate occasions to make and adjust this appointment. All three women who answered the call, over the course of a week, gave the same answer to my question what is the total cost of this visit, aside from repairs?. Their unanimous answer?$98 - covers the entire visit, its not an hourly rate. Should you need any parts, there will be an estimate offered. And just like so many others who have left negative reviews, I was completely surprised to receive a bill of $198 and a very surprised technician who assumed I would know that this is my total. I was given the reasoning of the difference is the diagnostic fee, we always charge a diagnostic fee. He truly seemed to have no idea (or is a very good actor) that the girls on the phone are giving everyone the wrong rate. THREE TIMES. The whole purpose of the visit is to diagnose. So to charge $98 for a visit fee and then another $100 to diagnose is just another way that your company is trying to get over on people.I wasnt inviting him over for coffee. I made the appointment for a diagnosis and I was told $98. I feel bamboozled, I couldnt refuse to pay him. He was standing in my living room at 11pm. I then had to sign on the iPad stating that I agree that NOTHING he did is covered under any type of guarantee. I asked him to explain. Basically, if the air conditioner he was playing with breaks and collapses in my ceiling, hes not liable at all. What?? Who does that??So I will never use your company again, because now I cant trust anything anyone says. Also, since I think its only right to make sure others are not taken advantage of in this way, because we all work very hard for our money when we own a home, I will make sure if anyone asks me, I will tell them what happened. Honesty is the best policy. Shame on your employees.

Made an appointment with them last month to have my AC serviced and a second appointment to have my heater serviced. The day before the appointment someone is supposed to call me to confirm the appointment, I received no call. No one showed up today for my AC service, had to call up and was told someone called me and left a message. Couldnt give me a day they called. I wasted my time taking off work, for no one to communicate with me and then my appointment was pushed back an additional two weeks due to no fault of my own. Completely incompetent office staff, will take my business somewhere else.

I would love to have them come and give me a quote for my Central AC to be replaced as the Brochure said that I just received in the mail but when I called the company they don’t do our area, but I am still waiting for a callback from a supervisor because that is false advertising and I don’t understand why the brochures coming in my mail we get on a weekly basis if they don’t even come to our area it’s false advertising! Not to mention the company is wasting money sending Brochures going to communities they don’t even service.

Called for AC leak repair.Repair professional was uncooperative and kept suggesting expensive replacement ($8000-$12000) rather than offering to fix current AC system.HARP had told me the fee was $98 for visit and inspection. But the repair technician added extra fees for spending 15 minutes on the job bring the total to $192.He spent less than five minutes actually inspecting the unit. Most of the time was spent bring up the fact the system was really old and the AC company was no longer in business. He then proceeded to do a search and determine the exact age of the unit and cover his 15 minutes spent.

Called Harp when I had a busted shut off that caused some flooding under my sink. Harp came out first thing the next morning and evaluated the situation, finding a few other leaks and valves that needed replacing, which was expected in our old house. The quote I got from them was much better than the other plumber I had take a look. Chris didn’t pressure us to do any work we didn’t need, unlike the other guy. He worked with the town to make sure our water was off for as short as possible as he knew it would be inconvenient with two little ones running around. The work done was quick and high quality and he was super friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

Furnace stopped firing so needed help on the coldest day of the year so far. Harp was very responsive and professional and Zack, the technician, was extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and quick. He assessed the problem right away and had the replacement for the damaged part in his truck. Very happy with him and with Harp. Have signed up for maintenance with them.

Excellent experience; I woke up in the morning with no heat on a 30 degree day in January. I called HARP and the technician (Matt) was here within a few hours. He addressed the situation and explained the issue to me very clearly and thoroughly. I felt comfortable with his explanation and recommendations. I had heat within a couple of hours. I would absolutely use HARP again and recommend them to others.

2 complete, brand new AC systems were purchased. At the end of the installation, I was notified one of the units couldn’t be turned on because an el tricks upgrade requirement. This was missed at previous appointments and not communicated at any time until the end of the day. It took almost 20 phone calls to the service center to get someone back out, nobody would call back after messages, and the best they could do was send emails to the install team/manager. THEN, it finally gets fixed and a week later IT BREAKS!!! Parts had to be ordered for a brand new system. Terrible communication, quality, and you are sold a bunch of lies about quality.UPDATE: The brand new system has broken AGAIN!!! You can’t make this up. Also the reply says a manager contacted me, that is incorrect and never happened. If I could give negative stars I would. If you need HVAC services literally call anyone except HARP.UODATE 2: I’m not making this up. IT BROKE AGAIN!!! 3 times now in 30 days. I have a 4-month old baby and he’s burning up at night. HARP = NIGHTMARE.

Rick was a great technician. Explained so I could easily understand what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix the problem. He was very thorough and professional.Harp Home Service is great! I have used them before. They are always responsive, they let you know when the technician is on their way, and they send you a picture of the technician. Harp Home Service is fairly priced. We had service on a Sunday and we were not charged extra for servicing our home on the weekend. You will not be disappointed with Harp Home Service and their technicians!

Last summer (2020), i had a family emergency in FL. I called my usual htg & ac people (fr. FL) to come out during a 10-day return to CT to service my central air that wasnt blowing cold. Day before my return, they called & were afraid i was coming fr. highly-Corona contageous FL, & turned back on my appt.I came back to CT, next day called Harp. Girl told me next available ac service appt was Sept 22 (fr. July 10), & was surprised when i declined. (not only was i going back to FL within 10 days & wouldnt be available, but Sept 22s figuratively on the downside of cooling season.). I called right back after learning theres no charge for an emergency call, & a different girl told me, sure, hows Aug 28?, i declined again & thought, whats their definition of emergency. (understandably, i didnt have a gas leak, an electrical or plumbing issue that wouldve needed immediate attention--i was just trying to get a within the week appt to address this issue, as i didnt want to leave the house without ac for the rest of the summer.).I called another guy upon a tip fr. a friend. He came out 2 days later & gave me a freon repump. He also told me i hadda slight leak & next year id prob. hafta look into fixing that.2021--Back home after a year in FL, gave Harp a call (June 5) to address my ac leak & repump. GIrl told me hows July 9? I wasnt enamored with it, but i took it. (after last years disaterous experience.).My next door neighbor called (Harp) June 7 & they came out before enda the week. (she had similar issues i did.). Were both not customers of Harp, so we were 1st-time callers. June 10, Harp calls & tells me July 9 not gonna work for them, i need to call back & reschedule for a later date. Obviously, i didnt call back. 10 days after next door girls appt, she opted for a new system--it was installed Tues June 22.her house is smaller than mine, but got talked into a unit much bigger than the space she needs to cool, & fell for it. When she told me $7800, i asked why she was replacing the furnace too. She told me, thats just the ac price. Internet pricing & reviews specify sizes, etc. & say a unit like mine [a 14] shouldnt cost any more than $5100 [unit & install], she was getting a 16. Her decision was based on immediacy, however, their word of equipment unavailability [hard-sell scare tactic, noted by other reviewers], sealed it for her.After these loud & clear displays, i think Harp did me a big favor by NOT coming to my house.Despite being without my central air this summer, i feel better that i didnt waste all kindsa time & money on unreliable people & their overpriced equipment.

Great work on installing a new heat pump to replace one of our old ACs which stopped working. HARP expedited the job for us during a hot period of early summer. The time frame for having an estimator at our house to price systems out, to completion of installation was only 5 days, and the install itself only took 1 day. Crew was professional and hard working.

I called Harp when my pilot light went out on the furnace. RIck came to repair the furnace and noticed there were hazardous issues with it. Rick made a call to Nathan Ryan who came out that same day to recommend an energy efficient furnace for my house. Everyone at Harp provided outstanding service.
