Very helpful, I served in army for over 4 years, then I was shot twice after. I already have two degrees and Im about to go to uncw to start on my masters. This place should help me after I my military college benefits are used up. I hope so. But first time going you have to go to a orientation.

I am giving this place two stars simply because it doesnt deserve five stars for my experience. ok so were starting out with five stars. The first star is for the first professional I encountered (and I had hoped would be the person I would be working with) It was clear that he was genuinely concerned about contributing to the success of others. (((SHOUT OUT TO MATT GRACE))). The second star is for the fact that the organization did cover educational cost and supplies. I removed one star because there was no ongoing support, there was only communication from the agency if it seemed that I was having problems meeting their expectations. Let me state that I am a disabled US Navy Veteran and I also hold college degrees that I earned while managing my disabilities. I removed three stars because the initial counselor that I was paired with was rude, callous, and demeaning. Never once was I given encouragement along the way however, when I struggled with my disabilities I was met with threats. I received threat letters to the point I where felt she was going to send the authorities to my home to collect the supplies if I did not return them. I had to dig into their policy manual and then reach out to a higher authority to support me against SPINELLI, who was supposed to be my support counselor or whatever they call themselves. This subsequently required an adjustment in my anxiety meds. Although COVID Happened I was part of the first graduates in a brand new leadership program in the Education Department. Guess what.... Not one word from VR. Then last week I got a letter in the mail from VR, I said maybe this is a notice of confirmation of me completing the program.....NOPE... It was a general mailing about COVID-19. Today Im putting the finishing touches on a short story Im about to self-publish and I thought to myself wouldnt be able to do this if they hadnt provided that much in support. which led me to recall my entire experience which rated two stars because if I had been a weaker individual, I would have failed and no one would have been the wiser to know that I was up against someone who had preconceived ideas about anyone coming in for assistance and you cant visibly see their disabilities. I gave a star back because after I made some noise they paired me with someone I suppose is used to dealing with difficult cases. When we met, she realized that I was not the one who was difficult but she didnt state that; it was evident in her demeanor. So... we end up with two stars and I would recommend this program to someone ONLY after warning them of what they can and can not expect. If youre visibly disabled you have a better chance of receiving true support, otherwise good luck and be thankful for what you can get.

This VR has people that are caring and understanding. They do everything in their power to help you and they take time to listen to your concerns. Plenty of parking spaces.

Helped me with my RN Refresher Course & my medication for my seizures until my insurance was approved. I could not have finished my coursework without their support. They were supportive & knowledgable.

This business, like any other, is what you make of it. Put in the efforts, put your best foot forward, and often you will find resources and support so valuable as you recraft your skills for a new career.

The client reps/counselors do not return calls. Same situation in Raleigh. Appears to be a poorly managed dept.of NC Health & Human Services.

Agency that accepts Federal and State funds, catering to individuals with disabilities to help them find employment. The waiting room is very tight and I can see how a person in a wheelchair would have challenges navigating the small space.
