Due to the incompetency of this particular broker, these brand new first time home owners now have to spend what should have been our first week at our new home, in a roadside motel. The sellers were not made aware of the date they were supposed to be gone by this broker, and it was only when we were on our way to move in that we became aware that the sellers had not moved out. With all of our belongings in a truck and nowhere to go, we were completely and utterly screwed. After hours of pushing, our realtor managed to get them to cover our motel and truck fees (the absolute bare minimum to cover our costs of staying in a subpar motel, which it turns out we STILL are losing a decent amount of money on. The reason why we requested such a low number was because we were afraid Steve was going to try and get the sellers to pay, but we had built up a relationship with them and I knew they were not at fault so I did not want them to suffer because they were also put in a terrible position) but we had to drive an hour and half to pick up the check. He wasn’t even going to stick around past 4 and was going to offer to “put the check under the mat.” WHAT?! Steve’s response when we got there was “sorry for the drive down here.” How about sorry for rendering us homeless, Steve. How about that? If you’re buying through this company, ask questions, get straight facts, read your contract. We deserve a lot more than what we got. Apology and monetary wise. We are extremely upset and dissatisfied.
