I absolutely LOVE ESG. My daughter bounced through a few different activities not really falling in love with anything until we tried this. I couldnt ask for a better team of coaches who are patient with each child and are always supportive. I feel like not only did we find something that now BOTH of my kids are excited to learn but another family in the community. I would 110% recommend for kids or adults!

Me and a friend decided to come in for a class one day just to check things out and instantly fell in love. I’ve been going almost every day for a year now and it’s definitely become a second home. Coaches Brian and Robin Sheehan really do their best to create a welcoming family environment. Not only does esg have an amazing coaching staff they also have awesome students giving plenty of tough rounds. If you’re looking for a place to get in shape, learn self defense, or even get a little therapy session this is the place to be.

I started training here about a year ago after head coach Brian Sheehan stopped in my job and I asked about his bjj hoodie. I showed up to to class the next week and instantly was hooked. Coaches Brian and Robyn Sheehan take time to work with every student individually to make sure they are achieving their goals. ESG, it’s Coaches, and students have fostered a family style culture of hard work, sportsmanship, and accountability. Whether you’re looking to compete, gain some self defense skills, and or lose a few pounds this is the place to be!

My son Leo (10 YO) and myself (41 YO) are newbz to BJJ, but love it. The coaches/owners are amazing and made us feel 100% part of the Evolution family/team. They are willing to educate and answer every question we throw their way. More importantly, their passion is contagious and the only thing we would change is us being able to get there more often!

If you are second guessing on starting your BJJ journey I would stop and check this place out!! You will feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. Robyn will introduce herself and introduce you to EVERYONE. Coach Brian is very knowledgeable and helpful. They will make sure you are paired with someone that will be able to work with you while teaching you at the same time. I’ve been going since November of 2019 and wished I had started sooner. You’ll be tired, you’ll tap more than you would like to, and you’ll get your butt kicked in more ways than one but it’s all worth it. It’s a great workout and you will meet a ton of cool people in the process. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Such a fun and friendly atmosphere. The instructors of the place are always willing to go out their way to show a technique, demonstrate the proper way to execute the technique, and answer questions with no hesitations or frustrations. Everyone here is so nice and very welcoming. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone that is looking to learn some self defense.

If you are looking for a BJJ school, come hang out at ESG and you will quickly know you have found your gym. Coach Brian and Robyn have created a gym where if you’re willing to show up and put in the work, they have your back every step of the way. No matter your current level and/or what your Jiu Jitsu journey looks like, you have a team that supports you. Being someone with no martial arts experience, I always feel safe when rolling and have never been embarrassed to ask a question. Learning more about Jiu Jitsu and how other schools operate, we are given some amazing opportunities to train with and learn from some of the best literally all the time! ESG goes beyond the mat and I am grateful every time I walk through the doors. Thanks dudes!!!

You really do learn a lot here. Everyone is really nice and wants you to succeed. They’ll tell you what you did wrong and show you how to fix it/the right way and will let you know every time you try, get it right and when you make the effort. Big or small, tall or large doesn’t matter anyone can join. This is one of the most welcoming places I ever joined. With really decent prices and all the coaches and people there for the classes it really it’s worth going. I sweat my butt off but I have a lot of fun doing it. I feel so much better about myself by joining.

I drive over 45 min to train here because the classes are that good! Safe & clean private space, with skillful instructors who are passionate about what they teach and like to have fun! They will take time to make you feel comfortable in a new space, introduce you, and pair you with a partner that will show you the ropes. Whether you come from another martial art or have never exercised a day before in your life, they will find a challenge appropriate for your level. You can learn and grow alongside very talented martial artists who truly care to see you be your best in every way! I highly recommend you try a free class, no obligation, and see what you think. All ages, genders, sizes are welcome to join the #EKMARMY. We are always learning and evolving together.

I had an awesome day yesterday at Evolution Submission Grappling. I was actually surprised at how open their school was..... All are welcome is not just a saying- it is law. I took a 3 hr drive to Wilmington, DE after staying in the mountains with friends, to make it to Evolution for a class I knew was going to be amazing. I am not a part of their school, honestly I only barely warned them I was showing up. But when I got there I was added to class as if I was family.Got some awesome rounds in and then Brian and Robyn really showed how great of teachers they are when even though no other Evolution students were able to make the 2nd class of the day, they stayed and helped me with a few things I really needed to work on. They are the kind of people that we need in the world of martial arts, people who just care about spreading as much knowledge as possible. So head on over there, even if youre not close. Heck, if I can make the drive from middle of nowhere, Pa (truly had no idea where I was... lol), then you can make it from your home. Thanks for being so great, guys 👍

If you are looking for a legit no gi grappling school, you have found it. Brian Sheehan is very patient and detail oriented with beginners and knows how to push his advanced competitors to dominate in competition. If you are new or advanced you will be welcomed quickly and feel like part of the team. I trained in BJJ for 2 years and could never find my passion for it until I started learning from Brian. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

I started out at another Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school, in which I still train regularly, but knew that Evolution Submission Grappling would take me farther in my BJJ game. ESG is for everyone, from competitors to hobbyists. However, the competition class is exactly what a good competitor needs to stay in competition shape and mindset. The instruction is detail oriented, the drills are perfect for increasing muscle memory of new moves (you know, the move you watch coach instruct and say you got it, but then try it and you dont got it), and, most importantly, ESG is team-centered . Everyone is safe and supportive.Coach Brian Sheehan is thorough and assists his students with whatever they need help with. He is very generous with his time and his knowledge. He is always pushing himself to become the best he can be, and that is a hugely important quality in a coach.

Any school run by Jacklayn Brannan is an incredible place to train. She teaches high quality, real krav maga. Even if her schools are a bit far away for me to train, I get in there whenever I can because the classes are always worth attending!
