I have spent over 3 hrs on hold with Republic. The first time was that they did not bring me any cans for our new residence. Then second time the gentleman reassured me he had “noted” my lack of cans and they would pick up my trash and leave the cans. The next day there were still no cans, and of course some trash remnants littered the street. I called back for the third time asking for a manager, and they transferred me to a corporate office in the Midwest with a woman who informed me there’s a “container shortage.” I can’t even make up something so absurd- a TRASH company without TRASH CANS!! Finally, she wouldn’t even offer a discount. I am blown away by the lack of professionalism.
Angie with Republic Services is AMAZING! So easy to work with and super professional. I would highly recommend them to my closest friend and family.
Customer service at this place is non existent. They drop a trash can off at my house (I never even asked for there service) I have to call 3 times for them to tell me that they will come get it & here it is almost 2 weeks later and it’s still sitting there. Get it together!
Recently switched to Republic Services for my business and it’s been a great move. Was having billing issues with my previous trash company and it was impossible to reach anyone on the phone, which is no longer a problem. Anthony, our salesperson, was knowledgeable and very professional. We would definitely recommend Republic Services.
I am so disappointed with this company and wouldn’t suggest anyone to do business with them. I moved into my home on September 5th. The previous owners informed me that trash was paid for quarterly so I would t have to worry about the month of September. I called on September 8th to confirm because the previous owners paid for September and the stated that I wouldn’t have to begin services until October . My trash and recycling was picked up for the next two weeks with no problem. This week my recycling was picked up but not my trash. I gave the company a call and spoke with Diamond. She stated that my home wasn’t on the map to have trash pick up and that she would forward me to her supervisor Sandy. While speaking to Sandy she expressed to me that my services should’ve stopped on August 20th. I explained to her that this couldn’t be accurate because I spoke to someone on September 8th and they stated that I was good for the month and that the previous owners didn’t move until September 4th. Instead of Sandy being frustrated by the miscommunication and me being given the wrong information. She was more upset by the fact that someone had picked up my trash for the past two weeks. I told Sandy to hold while I merged the call with my husband and she hung up. I called back today and not to my surprise the manger gave the same reaction as Sandy and was just fine with picking up my trash cans and no longer doing business. This company does not value its customers. If they treat me like this as new customer I can only imagine how they treat their current customers. If I could I would’ve given them 0 stars.
(Republic Waste Service )is the worst trash removal company ever. Please do not waste your time with this company. Bad business. Lazy and unprofessional.-The trash man claim they don’t get off the trash truck to get your trash cans.-Won’t get your trash because it’s raining outside, and its water inside your cans- Won’t pickup your trash because they claim the truck won’t fit in our street. However, larger trash company trucks drives through without a problem.-Take your payments for three months, and will delay picking up your weekly trash removal. Then the company tell you maybe on Monday, then on Monday the company will contact you with another reason why they couldn’t pickup your garbage. (Because the garbage trucks are full) So maybe another day. This company have been very unprofessional, and disloyal to their customers. Ive had different trash companies but there by far the worst.Every week I have to complain about my trash not being picked up.I have never seen such lazy trashmen in my life, horrible services, and the calling center is even worst. Ive been on hold longer trying to call IRS. Please do not attempt to have any services with (Republic Waste Services). I called with the intention of signing up with them for residential trash and recycling. Was on hold for 20 minutes. The girl who finally answered took another 30 minutes to give me a quote of $300 up front to start the service. You guys are nuts if you think any trash service is worth that to just get the service started. Don’t waste you time with these clowns.
Angie N. handles our Bruster’s trash/recycle account and continues to do a great job! She is very responsive and has helped resolve any issues very quickly. In addition, she has always given us a fair price. I strongly recommend Angie and Republic Services!

So far I am pleased with Republic services. Their prices are reasonable and the service is reliable. When they cant get to my garage due to weather, I always get a text message for the new day pick up which has been within the week.

Republic services consistently raises prices each quarter - 18 or so months ago, my bill was $65 and now its $104; my bill increased $20 on the base fee in just the last quarter. Cancelled service and was told a $60 fee is required to have their trash and recycling bins removed, and there is no other option to return them to avoid the fee. The fee is not listed on their site or in my bill - only that there may be a fee with an unspecified amount.The reason you may see some recent 5 star reviews is because they sent a text request to all customers asking for 5 star reviews (in the same text where they apologized for missing pick-ups/poor communication).

First, I want to say that the drivers that service my area are great. Ive never had anything short of fantastic service from them.However, I just cant deal with the company anymore.1) They constantly increase the price. Every year, I call and they give me a better price when I say Im going to leave, and EVERY YEAR they tell me its NOT a promotional or temporary rate, but then they jack it up again a year later. Last year, I specifically asked whether the rate was going to go up again in a year like it always does, and was told No. This is your new permanent rate. Guess what happened a year later...2) A few months ago, I called for a special pickup for a large removal of a fence I was removing. I described the sections and what the materials were, etc. They charged me when they scheduled it, but they never took it and never contacted me. When I called, they told me the pieces had to be broken up smaller (even though they were exactly as described when I called to schedule the pickup). I cut them all down to the size they said, and they were supposed to come get it again. It was still there the next day after the rescheduled time. I called again (they still didnt bother to contact me at all about it), and they told me that they couldnt take it because the pieces had nails in them. It was wooden picket fencing; there were THOUSANDS of nails, removing them was not practical and hadnt even come up before this point. I gave up and paid somebody else to come haul it away. However, for some reason, they could NOT refund what they charged me for this pickup (that they didnt pick up); I had to call AGAIN to get them to credit it to my account toward a future bill.3) Ive had similar issues with other special pickups, but not to this degree.To be honest, I wouldnt have even written this review except that after missing a couple pickups due to the weather and skipping a couple weeks (with no credit for the missed service), they sent me a text apologizing for the missed service and asked for a Google review (yes, in the same text). Thats how well they understand customer service and the needs of their customers -- Ive got garbage overflowing, and theyre apologizing and asking for 5-star reviews.

For the following months, they sent me repeated notices about how I still owe them, threatening to send to collections. I have already called multiple times and was told it was fixed. I am now on hold again for 30 minutes. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Just got a request to rate my service and I wish I could go lower. I keep putting off finding a new service provider but I’m going to make it a priority this week. I use to have EXCELLENT service but lately bottom of the barrel. During COVID I received so many conditions about my pickup as if I was not paying for a service. Every other industry found ways to provide service but Republic Service apparently has little to zero understanding that they’re not the only outfit in town and can’t collect my FULL payment with WAY scaled down servicing. GLOVES, SHIELDS, DISINFECTANT ... your industry is trash removal figure it out just like all of us have to do with our jobs, so we can continue to pay you for yours!! Get people on the phone who appreciate those of us selecting you with the ability to problem solve. Absolutely no gratitude to their subscribers!!

We (Rush Uniform Inc.) have been using Republic Services for years. They have always been dependable and since they assigned Anglica Nieto as our rep, things have gotten even better. No matter what issue (not that there are many) comes up, she has it handled instantly. She consistantly responds to our needs in a timely fashion and goes above and beyond to make sure we are completely satisfied. She is certainly an asset to Republic Services.
Bad service. Several times have skipped services and I receive notification that theyll double up. I received notification text this morning stating a relief driver will be servicing my area and to allow until after 5pm before calling with a service problem. When I called at 5:30pm, of course the office is already closed, so who exactly am i supposed to be reporting a service issue to?!? They never picked up my recycling today so I will be canceling service tomorrow. Poor customer service, poor service all around bad company. No wonder so many negative reviews. I will go with another local company who actually picks up trash and recycling as scheduled regardless of excuse.
I’m gonna have to find a new trash provider, they haven’t been by to pick up my trash since it snowed. If it’s a holiday they skip the week and come the next one and that’s very inconvenient and not to mention unfair because we pay for weekly service.

I closed my account because the price I was paying is 3 times the amount I’m paying with another provider. I was never told my bill went up in the first place. Then when I payed my last bill, again I was not told I would have to pay 50 dollars to have the cans removed....... 8 months later.No waste management company is Great, they all have issues, but this company’s ratings are accurate. The only thing that would make it more accurate is if there was a Zero rating.
What a terrible company. They advertise that they are responsible and reliable and they are absolutely not. Find another trash provider. They never have anyone come get your trash if there is a missed pick up. My trash sat on my property for 2 weeks! Their customer reps lie right through their teeth knowing that no one is going to come for a missed pick up. The last straw for me was they came on my scheduled pick up day and picked up my neighbors trash, but almost did not pick up my trash again! If I wasn’t outside to yell at the trash men my trash would still be sitting on my property. Never again!
I live in an Apartment Complex, in New Castle, Delaware, Colonial Village. The Dumpsters were filled to the top and trash laying around them, when they did pick-up, they didnt bother to pick up all the trash around the Dumpster.. What an eyesore for our Grounds..
This companys trucks race through the neighborhoods at 50 MPH. Please do not contract with them!
After comparing prices with other companies, I decided to switch to Republic. First bill indicated a $42 delivery fee per can, which was not disclosed when I signed up. I spent 3 weeks disputing fee and finally had it resolved. Promised to be called back after review of my original call, yet they did not call back 4 times. After several attemps, I finally had it resolved, after they interrupted my service, although I asked each time if i should pay the invoice less delivery fees and they told me no. Its definitely not a good way to treat a new customer. If you are thinking about switching, be sure to ask for all fees associated with services because they will leave it out if you only ask for cost of trash pickup.Update: after being a customer for several months, pickups have been fine. I like that they call or text when there is inclement weather. Other than prices for delivery fees I have been satisfied and updating my rating to 4 stars. Not 5 because of the price discrepancy upon signup.
Republic services has been our trash service for almost 20 years. They never miss a pick up and if I ever need anything extra Angie Niento in the office is the BEST. If you need anything be sure to call Angie, she will get it done!
Do not use this trash service and a window from my vehicle was busted out from a passing truck. Reported to the insurance company and they refuse to replace my window. Will be seeking legal action immediately.

This makes the second time they have missed picking up my trash. Last time I waited 2 weeks to have it picked up. Last week they picked up the garbage but not the recycling. I get tired of calling and no action taken. I will be looking for a new trash collection company. This is ridic.
Would give zero stars if I could. have been a residential customer since 2012; stayed with them through continual price hikes. Over the 7 years have paid them in excess of $2,800 for services. Finally switched to another provider. They want to charge me $60 to pick up my cans. They want ME to pay THEM to come pick up THEIR cans. Alternatively, I can take vacation time to deliver them to their site during business hours. I also still have one full month of service paid for so they will owe me $31. I was told in order to request my refund I needed to make a second phone call after my service is cancelled (August 31st) and at that time I could request that they give me my money. Are they freaking kidding me? This company has more than 3,500 separate complaints on the BBB. How has some industrious lawyer not started a class action lawsuit? Seriously. He/she could probably retire on the $$ he/she would make off this case.
You will be better served by using another company. The company will add additional charges such as picking up the trash bins when you cancel the contract that will cost more than the removal of trash. I am glad that I no longer have to deal with this company.
Called to start service and put deposit down for cans to be delivered. After hearing from friend how terrible the service is I decided to cancel 2 days before cans were due to be delivered. Called first thing in morning but when I got home they were there 2 days early. I called back they said it was there fault and they would pick up cans. Took 3 weeks before they got cans and now I received a bill for $165 a month after canceling the start of service . just got of phone and they told me its gotta be sent to another department to be fixed and I need to call back in 2 days to make sure its takin care of. This should of been done a month ago. Im glad a friend told me to stay clear of this company .
I have had nothing but great experiences with Republic! Many times in the past few months we have received same day service on our roll off and compactor pulls. Very much recommended for your recycling and waste removal needs.
I called and asked about rates, back a few weeks ago they quoted $46.99 for a quarter and now they have doubled it when I was ready, do not use this mis-leading company. Stay away and use another.
ZERO stars! Worst experience ever! Do not use them!Fees get added on without warning and services are removed in the same manner. We received our bill for this quarter and it has increased by $30. We contacted Republic to cancel our service. While speaking to smug, indignant customer service rep, Janelle, we were told we would be charged $30 PER CAN for Republic to pick up their trash cans. Unbelievable!Weve since contacted another waste removal company who is able to provide us with more frequent service, additional pickups, and will pick up additional trash bags left along side of their cans, all without additional fees (and... they will not charge for can removal if we cancel).My advice is to keep shopping and ask lots of questions.
Three missed pickups in 2 months. They suspended yard waste indefinitely but didnt tell me, but continued charging for it. They skipped my bin today because the lid was open and its supposed to be closed - according to the new policy they didnt tell me about.Rates keep rising but the service gets worse. I cancelled this morning and they wanna charge me another $100 to come collect their own bins...what a joke.Update - after cancelling they billed me for another quarter, even overcharging the usual rate. After fighting for weeks they refunded the wrong amount. Now theyre sending me past due notices for money THEY OWE ME and wont return. Truly a garbage company.
I felt I was receiving good service even though another provider would cost me $24/year less. I called to schedule a bulk item. The lady I spoke with told me it would be Saturday versus the Friday it should have been with the one day delay due to the holidays. Its now 1:25PM on Saturday and the item (a large dresser mirror) is STILL out there. In fact, when I went out, it had fallen. Thank God it hadnt cracked into a million pieces. I asked the representative two other times if she was SURE it would be Saturday. She was. Now Im guessing Im going to be stuck hauling this thing back in. If I do, Im going to consider other providers because this means I was given blatantly wrong information, despite asked multiple times if the representative was certain. Tried to call them, but nobody is in their office. Imagine that. I doubt theyre doing bulk pickups either.
Terrible call center that has not taken my call all day to report still another missed pick up. You wait on the phone for 5 minutes to be told there is a system issue and try again later in the day. That has been the message the entire day!
Dont use them! They were great when I signed up but the non stop price increases and the reduced service (cutting yard waste pickup from every week to every other) made me switch providers. THEN when I go to cancel they want to charge me to pick up their cans..... I was able to speak with a supervisor and they would not waive the fee they told me to drop the cans off at my local branch if I did not want to be charged.
I had to drop Republic. Billing system was confusing, and didnt help that charges hit 4 weeks after the bill. When you look at their system, no two invoices were the same, and why so many for a quarterly bill??Bulk pickups, guess i miss the days when they left something if there wasnt a preapproved charge. I think we got a rate increaseThe worst problem was Bait and switch....last year when we signed up it was weekly yard waste, then just in time for spring they reduce to biweekly with no discount for decreased service.They charge for can pickup and drop off....youd think theyd be happy to get a new customer and would drop off free but not the case.Oh and someone else gives better service for cheaper. Sadly I’ve had this company for over 10 years everything was fine my pick up for my trash and recycling was on Monday and then they just changed it to Tuesdays and my trash has been missed every week they’ll tell me they’ll send somebody out for a miss pick up the day I called and it’s not on the day I called and It will be the day after sadly tomorrow I’m calling and getting a different trash and recycling company
I haven’t had any problematic issues with the service from this company except the constant never ending rate increases but unfortunately it’s not the only circus in town with similar issues. I’m currently looking for new service but fear the same rate issues as my current provider. Mine have doubled in the years that I’ve been a customer.
RUN, dont walk away from getting this company. I have had them for two years and set up was a nightmare, the trash guys dont pick up my trash, and every-single-person you deal with gives you different answers! I have had to have managers review my recordings to prove I was told one thing only to find out it was incorrect. They are literally THE WORST company I have ever had to deal with. There service and customer service sucks, Ive been missed several times and when we call in to customer service, they tell us that we will have to wait until next week because the truck is no longer in the area, even though we put the trash out the night before. We pay for once a week service and they will not credit our account for the miss, and then our bill went up another $30. They suck dont bother wasting your time on them!!!
One missed pickup in a year due to a snow storm. Two day delay picking up recycling after Christmas. Other than that, the company has been reliable and cost effective. I switched from another national company because they offered a nice discount on price. I plan to stick with Republic.
Do not use this service. Lure you in with low rates and then increase them every year or sooner. I cancelled and they assured me I was paid in full. I then received a bill for $47.50 for collection of their trash bins. I received ONE bill and questioned it and next thing I know they have me in collection. There are other local services who are far superior!
Awful company!! I scheduled a pickup for an old mattress, and I get home and the end of the day and guess what was still sitting by the curb! You guessed it...the mattress! I called them up and the lady unapologetically said “was your mattress wrapped in plastic? We require all mattresses and box springs to be wrapped in plastic”. If the person who scheduled the pick up would have told me that, I would have had it wrapped in plastic, but they said nothing about that. Now I have to deal with my mattress for another week AND push off the pick up of the box spring for another week after that.I am switching companies immediately.
They were sending trucks early in the morning on my residential street to serve a business also on the street. I called and they couldnt have been nicer and the trucks stopped coming early. I really appreciate that and will spread a positive word about them around town; still fighting waste industries and their trucks for another business on the street.
Terrible. Have been an unfortunate customer of theirs for seven years and I can’t even count the amount of times they just miss a pickup, and then refuse to prorate my account or return the next day to correct their mistake. I will be canceling my service today.
I gave one star because I cant give anything lower. I dont usually leave bad reviews, and this is the lowest Ive ever given anyone. Worst company Ive ever used. They often skipped my house, then the drivers argue that I didnt have my trash out when I always put it out the night before. This happened for months, not just one time. I couldnt wait to run back to my old company. Never again!!
I would give zero but thats not a option. Ive been trying to contact them for weeks now for a bulk trash pickup and still havent gotten a response. The one time I did talk to someone they told me it would be $20 per item to get picked up. I was also told u get to put one larger item out and everytime I do they never take it. Just this past week they didnt pick up our trash at all and I kept doing a missed pickup and nobody ever got back to me my trash set out all week overflowing. As much as they charge with prices always going up they should be responding and having better customer service than whats provided.
Horrible service.They offer low price and within few months it goes up by more than 50% and you get up calling them for fixing it. They skip the pick up very frequently. They dont care how many times they skip in a month.If one box sits above the mouth level of the dumpster they take a picture and charge $100 plus extra. They exercise most unethical business practice. Beware of this company and dont get ripped off.
I requested a bulk pick up of a mattress. I was told pick would be Sat so we put it out Fri night. They never picked up. Called Mon was told my pick up was for Mon. The truck came w/1 person. He attempted 2x to pick up & couldnt so he just left. I called and told what happened. They couldnt advise why he didnt take it but said a truck will be there the next day. The next day, Tues. I received an automated message advising the truck broke down & they would be there the next day. Fast forward to Wed 6pm, no truck & mattress is still sitting curbside. I called & was waiting 45 mins before pressing 1 for a callback. I did receive a call. After telling my story AGAIN, I was told that the mattress was too heavy. It is a queen mattress. I was never told this before but was continously told they would be out the next day. LIES. If it was too heavy, why was there a sofa in the truck the one day they did show up. If it was too heavy, then send the truck out with 2 people - it is a bulk item request. I can not wait to cancel.
Its a terrible business model, but the adage: You get what you pay for comes to mind. They were the cheapest game in town so I was willing to deal with the poor service they provided.
Service was good but the rates and fees constantly changed and you never knew what fee they were going to dream up. My bill changed every quarter. The last bill was over a $100 with administrative fees and some charge that Wilmington supposedly charged.I do not live in the city limits of Wilmington. I cancelled my service and 3 months later they sent me a bill for $86.21. $30 per can to pick up and $26.21 in fuel recovery fees that they said I was aware of when I cancelled. I told them if I was aware then I wouldve put their cans in my van and delivered them to their location. I find there billing practices dishonest and questionable. Would never recommend.
Raised my rates without letting me know, attempted to cancel my service, called different times of the day, and was on hold endlessly. could not get through for a week. cancelled my service they said they would pick up the containers, never did and said I have to pay for them to pick up their own trash containers.... that was 3weeks ago, still have not picked up their containers, I have received no current statement, and called me and left me a message that my bill was late.....!!!!! would not recommend this service to anyone
Just like all the other reviews state; late or missed trash pick ups with no excuses. They also try to blame you for not having your trash by the curb when I would have my trash out the night before!!! I would highly recommend avoiding!!
I have never had an issue with trash pick up but recently I received a letter in the mail indicating I was eligible for a discount for being a loyal customer. I signed the three year agreement and sent it in via the self addressed envelope they provided. I have now spent two days trying to get my bill corrected to the agreed upon amount and have been bounced around on the phone.
They lure you into an agreement at a fair price and then raise the rates to a ridiculous amount. After researching other trash removal companies I found that my savings per quarter would be around $115. When I cancelled my service they informed me that I would be charged $30 each for the removal of my trash and recycle containers ($60 total - which is almost the quarterly rate of the new provider I found!!) I called back to complain and they would not waive the fee. Other companies that I spoke to do not have any such fee upon cancellation. The service was not always perfect either - several times they failed to pick up my trash thatwas on the curb the night before. Dont waste your money on this service - there are better ones out there!!
Wish I could give zero stars. Do yourself a favor, please never use this company. Their service is absolutely terrible. I had them for 1.5 years and it was atrocious. If you want a company that collects your trash efficiently every week I cannot recommend going with someone else enough. Had to call them pretty much every few months asking them to collect the trash, we had weeks where our trash was so full it couldnt fit in the bin anymore bc they had missed so many times. Calling in was always a problem, long holds, and the customer service extremely rude. We are much happier using a different trash company.

This company is a ripoff. When I first started with this company they were the lowest game in town. I have had them for 4 years and each year they have increase their price and have added all kinds of fees. Now my quarterly bill is almost $90. It feels like the old bait and switch. I called to cancel and spoke to Brianna, the worst customer service ever. Not only does the bill increase each year, they also charge $30 per trash bin if you cancel their service. They get you in the end as well. This company is the worst.
Have them. Have not had any issues. At first they did not pick up my recyclables. But I called they pick them up at 5AM. I started putting it out the not before and never a an issue after that.
Call for pricing on a 20 yard dumpster and it takes salesman 10++ minutes for a simple quote...He finally comes to an outrageous price of $590. Receive a call the following day and apparantly they can now offer the same service for $340..
Whatever you do, do NOT use this service. Moneygrubbing criminals, as far as I can tell. I discontinued my service in April of this year, and paid (what I thought was) my final invoice on May 1st. Lo and behold, another invoice two weeks later for removal of three containers – including an administrative fee and a fuel/environmental recovery fee – totaling $92.11! Trust me, a simple phone call to any of a number of other trash pickup companies will get you a much, MUCH better deal.
Do NOT use. Multiple issues over the 2 years that I had service.1. They appear to be the lower price than other companies but the admin fees, fuel fees, taxes, etc. actually make them more expensive.2. I paid for yard waste service the entire 2 years but it was actually picked up only a handful of times. (This ended up causing a lot of frustration with trying to rake my yard in the fall or weed in the spring/summer/fall.)3. Trash & Recycling pick-ups were missed a lot in the beginning and did get better but were still missed.4. Any time that you miss a pick-up, you can report it online but need to call in to have your account credited, which take 15 - 30 minutes each time. Sometimes it wasnt even worth reporting the missed pick-up for a few dollars in credit to spend the time on the phone. (The customer service reps were always nice.)5. Near the end of my service, I reported a missed pick-up and was told it was missed because of a low hanging wire. No one notified me to let me know about the wire and to try and remedy the issue. After I called and reported the missed pick-up and was made aware of the situation, I was told a supervisor would call me back but did not receive a call. After another missed pick-up, called again and inquired why other waste companies could get down the street with their trucks yet Republic couldnt. Pick-ups were resumed after that.6. After cancelling due to horrible service, they took over a month to pick up the cans. It took multiple calls and threatening legal action to have the cans finally picked up. They would schedule a date, not pick them up, need to call again, had 2 employees on separate occasions tell me to leave the cans on the side of the house, called again after they werent picked up and was told they cant go on the premises and scheduled another date, still not picked up. (They did not charge me the normal can pick-up fee and eventually picked them up.)7. After cancelling, my account was being charged $70 for months that I didnt have service for (and not including the credits I should have received). I stated that at this point it didnt even matter for the credits but I just wanted my account zeroed out. This took multiple weeks, phone calls, and threatening legal action for it to be resolved. (They did end up issuing me a check for my credits and I was not charged the $70.)I do not like to leave negative reviews usually because I understand issues can arise. I felt the need to warn people though because their seemingly lower prices lure you in and then you can be stuck with consistently horrible service and missed pick-ups. They do give credits for missed pick-ups but the money is not worth the time wasted sorting it out, better to just pick a reliable and better priced company from the start. (I am currently using Evergreen and very happy with them so far.)
They are the worst service I have ever dealt with. The drivers refuse to pick up 2 containers when we pay for 2. We always have to call the next day and have them come again. Forget about calling customer service unless you are fluent in ghetto-Ebonics. Unbelievable how unprofessional this outfit is.
I feel bad leaving even one star as they deserve NO stars. I have had these people for one month and have had so many issues its insane. They never come get the trash, they are late on days they are supposed to get garbage, never issued me a can and changed how many trash cans were allotted on a weekly basis. Someone should put these people out of business. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND FIND A RELIABLE TRASH REMOVAL SERVICE!!!!!
My biggest complain is that when I started with them it was $60 then it raised to $90+. Thats a 50% increase!!! No only that, they will charge a $30 late charge for being late less than a month.They did pick up my trash 98% of the time but sometimes they leave half of the can full of trash.
WORST SERVICE EVER.While we had them the drivers were rude and would intentionally leave cans behind our cars if they didn’t like where we put them.Canceling our service has been a nightmare. We were charged for an extra pickup that never took place due to a snow storm in January. I called at the end of February to have this resolved as well as cancel our service. I am STILL getting invoices saying I owe almost $300 for services I never received. I have called customer service half a dozen times and no one can seem to figure out how to fix my account.
I used them for container service while I cleared out a closed Big Box Store in Delaware. Jon provided us with excellent service the whole job. Thanks
Just switched from Waste Mng. Now they were worst anyway wont get into that ! Just trust Me..Republic Service has been GREAT....Who gives You a choice for yard waste . Lawn clippings, branches etc......Have all 3 services and pay less then any other Co. Ive had . Always on time THE BEST!

I moved in December and need a few extra bag picked up. I called and they stated it was $6.50 a bag/can extra. I had 11 bags/cans. Republic is trying to charge me $103.50 a bag.I even have pictures
This company is a RIPOFF! They keep jacking up the prices and customer service is lousy. They charge you for picking up their own cans calling it a fuel surcharge. Find another trash company to deal with, unless you like being RIPPED OFF!
I have NEVER had any type of problem with Allied. I think its the best service we have ever had. The drivers are friendly, professional and just do a great job.
This company has poor customer service. No one can answer any questions over the phone without putting you on hold and their website is one of the most non user friendly sites Ive seen. The trash collector and truck drivers are great though. There are noticeable management issues at this company. June 16th update, Ive been trying to cancel my service for 3 months and counting but wait, theres more. They are still charging me for late fees and quarterly service, even though they are not picking up my waste and havent been sing late April. Im downgrading this company star rating...they now owe me a star.
They suck! missed pick ups regularly and then wanted to charge me to remove the containers when I canceled. never again
Just moved to Delaware and have a Republic recycle can left by the previous home owner. I called and asked Republic to take their can back because I have another company collect our recyclable item. They gave me a date for the removal, it came and went, no pick up. Not surprised because of what I read about Republic on this site. Its a shame that a Union company has such a bad reputation. So I will deliver the recycle can myself to their New York Avenue address. Shame, shame on you!!!
Paid my last Bill 3/18. In May I got a reminder to pay the trash bill. Went to the bank, had a copy of bank statement faxed to them on 5/13. Looked at my account today and found my service had been suspended. I called. Republic claims they never got the fax. Statement refaced by UPS for $7.65 to fax. Finally they got the second fax. Then they say that the highlighted payment to them came over blank. Believe I will be going back to Waste Management.
Horrible service! price went up every quarter. Beware- they charge (try) you a 30.00 fee to pick up their own can. Stay away. Hidden fees and up charges. Poor customer service. use ANYONE else.
Constantly raising prices. After 3 months I was paying more then double. Had 2 weeks that they didnt even show up and couldnt give me a concrete reason.
SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY ON A DIFFERENT TRASH SERVICE!our neighbors talked us into using this company because it was about $20 cheaper a quarter than the other company. Supposedly our neighborhood has a special neighborhood contract with Republic but a half a dozen calls to different people no one has a clue what I am talking about and cant get me the price other neighbors have with this supposed contract.I have had numerous pick ups missed. And when I call to get a miss pick up they miss the scheduled pick up.Our bill is never the same. They love to add new fees or change the price of your services with no warning at all. When you call they say they have fixed your bill then you get the physical bill and it isnt fixed and you have to call some poorly train call center person again and hope they can help you.The poor folks at the call center must be given nearly no training because they almost never know what theyre doing.They scheduled bulky pick up on the wrong days even after I told them every single onebefore have been scheduled before those was on a different day and when they didnt come to get it they wouldnt do a double pick up for the next bulky pick up day I had scheduled.I called and asked for a manager or someone higher up than the person I was currently speaking to and they told me that wasnt possible. But the day before I was transferred to a manager upon askingAnd most recently they missed our entire street and all the cul de sacs on our streets. What a train wreck that has been trying to get them to pick up everyones trash. Which has ultimately been my breaking point with this company and I have no shame in rallying the neighbors to leave this joke of a company. They do no deserve anyones money.
This company is a scam. I was a customer for almost 10 years. They were great in the beginning and never had a problem. As time went on I found out different. Every time you call in you are on hold for 25 minutes or more. The people on the phone can never answer your questions and give you the run around. I will have to take your phone number and have someone in another department call you. (Ummmm you have my number why did I give it to you 3 times already). Finally get my service cancelled and start with a new company, saving me $32.00 a quarter. I even gave them a chance to beat, or match my other quotes. Move forward 45 days I get a bill for removal of my cans. $36.80 per can $22.60 environmental fees and a $5.25 administrative fees. They claim it was in my orginal contract. Nope not in my contract from 2009. Still waiting for that call back.(I even had to call them every couple of years to get my rate down. The fees raised every year by 20% or more. Do not do business with this company. If they closed I would not feel bad. They buy out small companies and act like bullies.
Apparently they only take what is in the can now. It was different last week. Too bad we just cleaned out the garage. On to find a better service.
The absolute worst customer service EVER. They kept increasing their fuel recovery charge which was understandable when gas prices skyrocketed last year. But, when prices started declining they did not reduce this charge as much as they should have, in my opinion. So, I found a company that charged a more reasonable rate. This company sent Republic a letter cancelling my service with them effective 6-20-16. I never heard from Republic about the cancellation, or received any notice from them about coming to get their trash bins. The other day I receive an e-mail from them notifying me that my new bill for August-October is ready. Since I am a little confused and its a weekend, I send them an e-mail telling them of the notice of cancellation that was sent and asking why I got a bill. Their response was snooty and rude. They stated that they do not accept cancellation letters from my new refuse collection company and that their sales staff are well aware of this. Well I AM NOT aware of your little rule and I am your customer. They stated it was my responsibility as a customer to cancel my service with them. First of all, I do not appreciate being talked to in such a manner. What real difference does it make if I personally cancel your services or if someone else does? All it makes it seem like is that you want to make it as difficult as possible to stop service. Secondly, it is your responsibility to your customer to let them know you dont accept cancellations of this nature. When you received this unacceptable cancellation notice, why did you not call or e-mail me to let me know the policy? When my husband called them to discuss this, the RUDE girl on the phone refused to send an e-mail confirmation regarding the cancellation stating they dont do that and that her telling him over the phone that the bill is cancelled and that they would be out on Wednesday to pick up the trash bins was how they handled the situation. My husband told her that we do not accept this, just like they dont accept cancellation notices from other refuse services. She then had the audacity to tell him that there is a CHARGE FOR PICKING UP THE BINS which we are responsible to pay. Are you kidding me?? I am going to pay you to come and pick up your property? Not in this lifetime. You people need to take some classes on how to treat your customers; your attitude and demeanor are horrible. The way you represent your company is not how you keep customers. You need to remember that you need us, we dont need you. I am sure your home office in Arizona does not know how you treat their customers. If I receive a bill from you for picking up your property, they will.
I just recently moved into my home in Hockessin and we chose Republic as our trash company. In the 6 months that weve lived in our new home Republic has forgotten to pick up our trash several times.Most recently, after a missed pickup, we were told there would be a pick up the following day. I just received a call that the pickup will be moved until tomorrow. This is insanity. Ive got trash piling up. My disposal can is full, and the company has done nothing to fix the issue.If you have a choice I would suggest not using Republic. We are now the family that has our trash sitting at the curb for the better part of a week because the company either misses or reschedules our pickup date with little/no notice, and it is embarrassing.
Rude regional manager threatened to sue my mom. I was told that I could pay $1000.00 to cancel my 91 year old mothers contract. Must give 90 day prior notice to cancel but no where to send it. My local Republic facility returned my certified letter saying no one there by that name. No response from remit address either. Once you sign - you are theirs FOREVER - whether you want to be or not. Get ready to PAY
They are the worst trash company we have ever had!!! We finished with them over two years ago. Once you start with them be ready to be angry and it will get worse the longer you have them. This is not a rant, this is a fact. Then when all is said and done and you’ve made up your mind to be done with Republic, they tell you when you quit them they charge you seventy some dollars to pick up the two trash cans. THEY SUCK!
Unbelievable. I ordered trash over a month ago, and they still have yet to deliver any trash to my residence. This is ridiculous. I mean, how am I supposed to keep my reputation around town. You drive by my house, guess what: absolutely no trash on the ground. Republic, you need to get your act together and quit hording all the trash. SMH...
My rates went up so I cancelled my service in January and Republic came and picked up their cans. I got Trash Tech(very reasonable rates by the way) and have been with them since. I got a notice today from Republic that I owe them for the time period that I cancelled and had Trash Tech. They are threatening to turn me over to a collection agency. They are terrible. They raised my rates every quarter until it became so high I decided to cancel and now they want me to pay for a service I didnt even receive. I didnt even want to give them 1 star but I couldnt post if I didnt.
Never had a problem - They have been collecting my trash for years. Today was the first time I missed a trash day; called them and they scheduled next day trash pickup to help me out. Thanks!
