I have two children in the Kumon Math & Reading Center of Wheeling and my youngest is going to join shortly. The teachers and staff are amazing and very supportive. Two years ago when we joined I was really impressed with the way the math was taught and my kids were engaged and challenged. The results have been amazing! I could not recommend it more.Sarah P.
Very helpful and flexible management. Works with your child and their pace.
We ware really looking forward to some kind of guidance and tutoring session as it was promised during the registration, instead we ended up with a child afraid to a ask questions because if she does, she will be punish with extra homework still not knowing how to resolve her math problems. My daughter and her 2 friends who had been carpooling with us attanded the Wheeling location for about 8 mo complained on weekly basis about not getting helped when asked and being yelled at for asking questions. At first I thought that my child is being little rebellious for having to go to Kumon but after hearing the other kids saying the same thing I’ve decided to pay little closer attention to what’s going on in the actual “study room“. From my observation the 2 “instructors” are only handing out papers without any guidance on how to resolve the math problems and intimidating children they don’t ask any questions. In the winter it was so cold in the waiting room, all parents ware waiting in their cars in front of the building ( including myself), not noticing what’s really going on inside. I have seen the instructors yell at the kids for asking questions, The male instructor pointing fingers in their faces.... on top of it no progress whatsoever, no individual approach at all. They’re only there to collect money.Keep in mind that Kumon is a franchise. Originally we’ve tested at the Arlington Heights location which I thought was wonderful but we ended up at Wheeling because it was closer to our home. At that time I did not understand how different it is going to be from one location to another.Do not punish you child by going to Wheeling location, don’t waste your money.
