Excellent facilities, great swim team, friendly and helpful staff

Working here for the last 12 years has been an experience of a lifetime. While I only work here part time, the friends I have made and lessons I have learned have made a lasting impact. I couldnt imagine teaching martial arts at any other facility. I am obviously biased, but it is refreshing to work at a place that is interested in the holistic growth of the entire community. This is a safe space for everyone.

Much bigger in the inside than what appears from the front/outside. Just finishing up some renovations. Two big pools and weight room is open now. Good parking lot across the road.

I have been a member of the westfield ymca for most of my life, and now my wife and child are too. We get friends to join and have made friends there too. Its a great, well-equipped place for every stage of your life. It has a great dedicated staff who we often run into in the area. Our child also attends its great school with great, caring teachers. Its also very neat and clean and safe. Along with great swimming pools and gyms, the array of exercise classes and mind body practices such as yoga and tailoring chi are excellent. Overall its a world-class center of health n community. For what you get the prices are very reasonable. Most other gyms have an abundance of knuckleheads. The y is a civilized community. Evan

Great people and facilities. dedicated to helping others. well run in every aspect.

The instructors who work here are fabulous and work very hard. I feel bad for them because you have very rude people who watch the desks and try to talk to you as if you work for them. Sorry, not having it! I blame management for this because those people are the face of this location and need to be properly trained. If you can get by the DMV attitude here, the instructors are great.

They helped but never called me for my interview and let me know if I was excepted or not but nice atmosphere and polite

Nice place if your one of the yuppy crowd, after all its Westfield. If you intend to park there forget about it,the lot has about 30 spaces, 2 only handycaped spaces, street parking is restricted due to the middle school a few blocks away. Getting a piece of equipment to use us a gamble at best,if your not a yuppy femail dont bother to wait, look for other gyms, one good one us on North ave,near Garwood line. The bldg is very old and shows it, staff is not the friendly type you would expect at a YMCA. There best feature is day care & other daily programs . I was Westfield resident for 30yrs,when the residents were human, not trying to one up there neighbor or even know who they were. Make a visit & draw your own conclusions.

It used to be very good few years ago. Now I dont see the value for our money. It is crowded, the bathrooms/ showers are not clean. I still love the instructors though!

I’ve been going to the YMCA since I was two years old (child swimming lessons) I’m now 19. I didn’t really recognize the rudeness of (some) of the staff their but as a grew older I was more aware of it. They have a nice pool for families and a lap pool. They recently have done renovations and have redone and moved the racket ball courts to the main floor (it’s nice looking) that being said there are a few front desk staff that are not polite at all (in my opinion). But now I rarely see the two guys that were coming off as rude. But when I do they look like they hate their job. I hate to give the Westfield YMCA 3 stars but their customer service needs some work.

Honestly, the service at this game is TERRIBLE. i mean really, the women at the front desk are snobby and rude, the staff walking around watching the kids are uninterested, and the bathrooms in this gym are disgusting and outdated. the machines are okay, i guess. i do enjoy how they have water machines. but that’s about IT.

I love this Gym, its for everyone.

They dont allow you to bring the same guest more than 5x even if you pay them. Obviously dont go as much because of this.

Bad place to join. Very expensive and staff is horrible. Staff consists of liars, thieves, and unprofessional staff. Spend your money elsewhere. Too note, poor security for children and members. Staff is unwilling to assist you if your a young age. When things go missing from your bag or locker, their response is, Check the lost and found. They will not help you find your missing items.

This place is small and outdated so I dint join it but the staffs were friendly and gave me a nice tour.

Went there for chess games for kids.
