Been going to the gym 10 days.. There are not many classes at harlem but the ones they have will make your pony tail holder drip !! You will sweat.. They have the massage chairs at harlem . the staff is warm and welcoming!!
They charged me my dues when they weren’t even open during the pandemic and then charged me $48 to cancel my membership all together...in the middle of a global pandemic. Stay away.
This location was ok, but I prefer the Elmwood Avenue location .
Just came back after several months hiatus- new fitting rooms have plenty of lockers, plenty of equipment available and was not super packed which it used to be before the pandemic. Some minor changes like stretch bands and mats not available so bring your own 👍
Love Mary zumba class!
Redone looks nice
Im always able to work out with out having to change my routine. Sometimes you have to wait a short period of time but no more than other gyms. People do there thing and are friendly and show respect. Always greeted with a smile. Sometimes a short conversation but always willing to assist you.
Aweaome gym, also very clean, and covid protocols are in check! Glad to be a daily member!
Lot of fun, Eq clean good staff.
The best thing about this place is the customer service from Anthony! He is the only person who greets Me when I come to this location. He always seems happy to be there too. He also made me aware of some concerns on my account that other locations have not bought to my attention, which I frequent much much more. I hope the manager sees this and does something special for Anthony. Buy him lunch, extra half hour for lunch, do something nice for Anthony. He will be the reason I come to this location more often! Thank you Anthony for not embarrassing me in front of the guest I brought to the gym too. Anthony is the best part of that gym. Period. Thanks again Anthony!
Sucks trying to work out with a mask on 😥 but like it there been going for 20 years
Its a gym, Ive gone early and late. I enjoyed early more, theres less people and its an older crowd just working on themselves. While going later at night I found myself waiting for people to finish conversations before I could use the machine they were occupying
They Gym itself is a nice little gym. The staff is friendly and nice. The one star rating is because its parking lot is known to FLOOD. I do not recommend parking in their lot unless you have full coverage on your vehicle. Also the gym is not responsible for your car when it is submerge under water in their parking lot and they will not do anything for you because they are not liable and have no obligation to do so. They are not shy to tell you this either. If you do decide to go here I highly reccomend parking somewhere other than their parking lot.
I just recently joined the Seneca location. Staff and facility are very nice. They offer one session of personal training with the premium membership ($20/month), which I took advantage of. Trainer was accommodating and helpful. They also offer exercise classes at this location if thats something youre interested in.
Best gym eve.
I was a member at Catalyst for 6 years and I went 4-6 days a week, I started out at French and I had the multi-club/bring a guest membership for $21/month because I went to the Wehrle location often. French had gotten rid of the womens only section which was where I would do majority of my workout, it was quiet and I never had to wait for a machine. I then moved to South Buffalo in 2016 I switched to the $10 membership only. Since then, the Seneca Street gym has deteriorated. When it rains, there are 10-20 buckets all over the gym collecting dripping water. The ceiling and the walls are full of cobwebs and the mirrors are always filthy. I never see anyone cleaning except the members wiping down their machines. I switched gyms a month ago because of all this. I now heard Catalyst changed the guest privledges to certain days. There were some long time members at Seneca, I was one of them and my mother is still one, I recommend putting in the same care you do at all of your big locations because those members deserve some serious upgrades, especially with now less privledges for the better membership.
Great gym, simple but great
Great gym. Great staff. Clean facility and good equipment!! What more do you need in a gym ? Peggy is an awesome lady who always has a hello and smile.
Switched from Planet Fitness. You dont have to worry about the weird Lunk alarm! Beautiful, classy people around and a clean environment! Yes, they have a bench ha
Most of the staff is helpful and attentive. The parking lot is finally being redone. Being smaller location it can feel a bit cramped.
The west Seneca location has been my gym for 20 years and the changes lately are horrible. I have 3 children and in the past loved that I could bring them to the gym and at a great rate I could work out and they could enjoy time in the daycare. They went from free childcare to changing us 45 a month in childcare fees. For the 80 a month we will be switching to the YMCA. Much better benefits and cleaner nicer facility. The owner amy is an awful person. Ugly on the inside
Great machine and workout setup coupled with a lovely staff.
Catalyst is an affordable gym option with generous hours. The equipment is getting better all the time, and they are actively striving to update the amenities offered on site.
Outstanding gym, and recommend to everyone when they ask me where to go. However I am not going to give it a full 5 stars because they do have a few machines that are rusted and clearly used up and they havent changed it for 9 months. On the machine it says Do NOT use if any parts are loose and lets just say a lot of parts are loose. Ive brought it up with staff twice and they said they would look into getting a new one and never did. Usually on a broken piece of equipment they put Out of order but I guess not with this one. Other than them being cheap with a few of their machines its amazing the environment is friendly and everyone there is willing to help the workers had no problem when I first started going to show me where the machines were and how a few worked. Definitely recommend.
Great gym, wide range of equipment. Staff & owner are friendly & helpful. Classes are excellent. A fine place to work on your fitness.
Ive been coming to this gym for years. I was initially skeptical of the management change a few years ago, where it went from Southtowns Fitness Center to Catalyst, but theyve upgraded the place nicely.Compared to the other Catalyst Express location in Lancaster Ive been to, I feel this location is a lot more complete, while still retaining the cheap price of $10/month.
Im not a fan of Catalyst. I belonged to the French Rd location when it was Golds and stayed when it transitioned, but they changed their pricing structure and never informed decade long clients. When I realized I was paying $29.99/month for several years after their $9.99month price change I spoke with the sales manager asking why my fees were never adjusted. I had been a member since 2007. There was no explanation and nothing was offered to me, so I said I wanted to cancel my membership and that was that. They didnt do anything to rectify the situation. I was incredibly disappointed that they didnt value my loyalty. I worked out 6 days/week and took spin & Body Flow regularly. I competed in figure competitions and utilized their personal training. Im sorry to say that I would not recommend associating with this chain.
Poor parking lot conditions. Not enough lighting while parking after dark and when it snows they dont plow or salt. They need to update their machines.
I love everything about this gym. They are missing a few machines I would like but other than that its great!
Good place to train without worrying about others
Not intimated by a lot of high level performers. A friendly attitude from people focusing on being their best healthy self.
Great price, great gym. Better atmosphere at Seneca location, a bit more average Joe feely than the muscle beach of the French Rd location
Not that big of a location, it’s kinda scary there tbh, there’s no sauna and the smoothies are like 7$ and definitely not worth anymore bc they barely give u a full cup
Its a great comfortable place to get a good workout. Ive been going there for years.
For the price, service, and new machines, you cant get any better
I like Catalyst Fitness its a good gym quiet generally and very clean.
This is a great place to get the work out you need and have your young children supervised while you enjoy your work out. Just keep in mind that you will be called to take them to the bathroom when they need to go.
Get what you pay for and clearly what you pay for is not Wi-Fi because it is never working
The term proactive is NOT part of their business plan, even to the extent that the place would fill with smoke. The NOT MY JOB ethos would let the place burn to the ground.I would feel better forking over $20/ month if I had actually been mugged on the corner.Just goes to show, how a mediocre turdfest looks like the Taj Mahal to people from Buffalo.Despite the inconvenience Im going back to CRUNCH.Im walking away from 6 months fee. Im THAT tired of the CLIQUE of dolts that dont seem to have a job.Best of luck to their investors, Im sure they like to gamble.Obviously.IM O U T !!!Cheers,ALL THE BEST!
