My husband recently went in for a state inspection and they failed him for needing new lower ball joints. Went down the road to another repair shop (because Mayfield did not give us an inspection slip and did not charge us) and nothing was wrong with the lower ball joints!!! I now wish we wouldve gotten the failed slip so we couldve taken it to DOT and reported them for not doing our inspection right and trying to take more money from us to repair them, when they were perfectly fine. Will not ever be back! Be careful this place is out to get your money!

Dont go here unless you have time to keep taking it back for the issue to be fixed!!! I have had to take it back for the wipers to be fixed. They said they replaced my wiper motor, but the wipers stopped. I took it back they said it was a fuse. Today when Im going down the road in the pouring rain they stop AGAIN!! Thank God I didnt have a head on crash and die. The time before this one he fixed something and it had to go back. I stopped and put $10 worth of gas in at Caseys by Sonic and I was on empty before I got there. It was pouring out gas because it wasnt fixed correctly the first time. I took it in for a CV axle to be replaced after I left the shop the brake light came on. Then I took my sons in to be fixed and he cleared a code (done at an auto supply store forfree!!) and paid $55 for it and guess what??!! It is NOT fixed. I could go on but Im done writing!!!

I purchased a vehicle from a gentleman that had quite a bit of work done over the past few years at this shop. I have several receipts to show this. With that being said, I am an automotive service technician myself who works at a very reputable dealership, so I am no shade tree mechanic. I take my work very seriously, where it seems that this shop DOES NOT! I have repaired several mistakes this shop has apparently made. One of which being a terrible timing belt job that almost left my car a mess! Upon repairing the issue and reassembling the engine, I have discovered that the vehicle was not properly reassembled by this shop! Not to mention the hack fixes to anything they broken or lost. Several missing bolts, loose clamps, etc etc. I advise anyone considering this shop to take a second and think, Is it really worth it?.

We have done business with Mike and Lora for several years after a recommendation from a friend from out of town who had broken down in West Plains and had used their shop for repairs. We have come to trust them completely for timely high quality work at fair prices. My wife is comfortable taking something to them alone which says a lot. Its rare for a woman to feel comfortable doing that with a auto repair shop these days. They stand behind their work exceptionally well. They are our go-to-place for car repair and advice. DO NOT bring your vehicle here! My boyfriend and I brought his mustang into the shop because it was having issues, we weren’t sure what was wrong with it. But we did know it had a slight oil leak so we asked them to find the problem and to fix the leak. It ended up just needing a new spark plug. They replaced the spark plug and charged us $103 to do so.. Which is just ridiculous, but that isn’t even the worst part. They DID NOT fix the leak, they told us it wasn’t bad enough to worry about fixing. We took it home from the shop and then today my boyfriend got into it and the car is making this terrible noise..so we pop the hood and the boot had come loose and was just flopping around. We call mayfields and they say to bring it in so we do, they are going to charge us an estimated $125 to fix it, when they are the ones who made the mistake when putting the spark plugs and boot back on. We had called other auto places and they confirmed that the only way that it could have come loose is if the previous mechanic hadn’t put it back together properly.. When my boyfriend politely said that he thought we shouldn’t have to pay such a steep price for something that was their fault, we were told to come get our car and to never come back again and then hung up on. They were rude and unprofessional.. You couldn’t PAY me to take our car there again!

They were able to diagnose the problem with the car, and gave me the option of how I wanted to proceed

Last time we brought our vehicle to them my husband told them we needed it to be done by 3:30 because we only have one vehicle and I work out of town and would have to be picked up. It wasnt finished at 4:00 when I called to check and was told it would be two more hours. Not acceptable. So I told him they were done and not to do the alignment.I call to make another appointment and am told to bring my car in. I make arrangements and they refuse to service my car because apparently I gnawed him a good one last time my car was there because they didnt listen to the instructions about being done.Time to put on your big boy pants and deal with a customer speaking up after not being listened to. There are reasons why instructions are given when appointments are made.

I am normally pretty easy going but we did not have a good experience with this place. We took our car in for an alignment. They did the front and said the back needed shims which they would have to order. They told me I would only have to pay for the shims and would not have to pay anything else since I had already paid for the alignment. The next time I took it in they kept it all day and still did not fix it because the shim they received was incorrect. The third time we took it in, my son picked it up and they had charged for labor on top of the shim price. They would not remove the additional charge even though they only did half of the alignment to start with.

Ive done Business with the Mayfields since they opened in the 90s! They have always got my vehicle Fixed on the day I made my appointment for! There price has always been fair! And they have always stood behind there work! If u want a good mechanic in west plains mayfields is it! When u go to other shops in west plains and they cant fix electrical Problems they send u to mayfields. So save ur money and go to mayfields first!
