At first they seemed to be very helpful and nice. I told them what I needed done and they said they could do the work. I went in to get my studs replaced on my turbo housing that lead to the downpipe. The employee called me out when the work was started and said they couldnt get the studs off after they already cut it off instead of calling me out there before doing so. They then proceeded to think it was okay to continue the screw up and make it worse. They proceeded to weld the studs on after having no other choice. If you dont know what youre doing you shouldnt be in business to do so. I do understand how theyre still in business. I was told 2 hours labor when it took them 7 hours. Charged me full price and refused to give a refund after they messed up themselves. One of the studs ended up breaking off a couple days later with an exhaust leak. They then wanted to charged me more money to fix the issue. I would never recommend any of these locations to anyone. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS. The pictures below speak for themselves. This is disrespectful.

They did an Amazing Job on 2014 Maserati Ghibli SQ4 on making an Oem X Pipe, we both discussed the idea and they delivered on there Workmanship and Performance upgrade . These guys are great and Hard working with pride and quality. Im coming back with those Corona Beers 🍻.

Saturday afternoon, I was transporting a large 9ft diameter tub to a local animal shelter. The straps became undone and the tub fell off my truck across the street from Velasquez Muffler. Being a very large and heavy tub, I struggled mightily to put the tub back in my truck. All the while a crowd developed at Velasquez Muffler to watch the proceedings. NO ONE bothered to offer me assistance and as my labors grew, the laughing and comments from these people across the street started and continued. I consider this behavior from EMPLOYEES at Velasquez Muffler to be both disgusting and reprehensible! After working at this for over an hour in the hot sun (next to heavy traffic), I finally managed to secure the tub back onto my truck and was on my way. This company will never have my familys business and I caution others to stay away from these cruds.

Put a very loud muffler on my car and then told me, after the fact that if I wanted a quieter one, I could come back and pay $120 more...AFTER THE FACT!!! Bad business policy! Give ppl the option in the first place...NOT after the fact!!!

Honestly i do not know why this place has 1 star reviews. This has been by far the best experience i have had in a very long time! I want to thank the manager here and the crew for taking the time to explain all that would be done to my 350z! Not organized. Cant schedule appointments. First come first served. Told 30-40 minutes just to have my car looked at. And was told its like that everyday. I got the feeling they didnt want Myservice and I want beg you to take my money.

Plan on not waiting, get a ride home. Tight service writer/waiting area, and no outdoor seating. Technician comes into this area to coordinate with the service writer, while not wear mask. Service writer three customers and myself were. Cut a square in the wall put in a homemade teller window, then the tech doesnt need to leave the bay to talk or pass keys to the writer. Better productivity, and safer for customers.

I was quoted 2000 for the work i needed done they were able to get it done for half the price and in less time.

I have to said they have the chepeast prices for repair but you have to think it twice the put new muffler in my car charge for it now check engine its on the pipe broke in the middle so still make noise and plus they hide your car so dont know if they doing they right thing so i may spend few more dollars and go where they are ASE certified technician what they know what they are doing.les recomiendo otro lugar no vayan aqui muy mal servicio.

First time here at this location couldnt get a hold of my closest location in Dekalb for days they answered the phone right away, Work around West Chicago thought I give it a try. The lady at the counter was great and the mechanic doing the muffler was great as he explain what else needed to get done, and on another note there was a lady that picked up her vehicle before me and she couldnt be happier with the work she got done with her car keep up the great work and will definitely spread the word about this location

Made multiple attempts to have my exhaust done here first time I came I was told they don’t have the parts we will order them but you have to leave a deposit. They call me that the part they need came in. I asked if I can in and get it done they say yes, I come in to get it done they tell me they don’t have the time today come back tomorrow they did that 3 days in a row. Each time I called to verify I can come in. The girl at the front was very rude and disrespectful and so was the person in charge. I asked for my deposit back because they refused to provide service, they refused to return my deposit.

Went in to get a quote for exhaust work and price was super high... not only that but they dont drive your cars/truck with care.. one of the Guys that work there drove my truck a bit harsh you can hear tires peel every time he would accelerate while driving it to the lift. In my opinion i feel like as “professionals” they should treat other customers cars with care and respect as if it was there own..

I was quoted $160 at Midas for a small exhaust repair and I had to wait 2 days... I stopped at Velasquez and they quickly diagnosed the problem, showed me a solution and offered an inexpensive quality repair AND completed it shortly afterwards, for a fraction of the Midas price.

Cant even do a simple oil change without messing it up, and sometimes I think they make-up there own prices . Had to go back after oil change my car was smoking. Cheap place sometimes but you get what you pay for. Roll the dice ? Good luck

These folks have always treated me the right way. No baloney. Today I had them bleed the brake lines, valve was frozen. A different shop said I had to get new calipers to fix...I was like no no no no no ya dont. These guys know how to actually fix things v. just replace larger assemblies.

I Have had some good work done at this place in the past. But my recent experience has encouraged me to never return. I paid them $800 to replace The exhaust manifold and catalytic converter on my car I provided all the parts. When the car was returned to me I was receiving check engine lights for the Oxygen sensors. I took it to the dealer and they found that the wiring for the oxygen sensors was touching the catalytic converter and had melted. The dealer had to replace a section of the wiring loom. When I brought this information to the attention of Velasquez, They told me there was nothing they could do and that I should have brought the car back to them. But it was too late at that point I needed the dealership to diagnose with the issue that point the Labor would have already been fairly significant. Also, Im really not intrested in having a muffler shop replace wiring on my car I dont feel that is their expertise. They should have simply reimbursed me for the labor portion of the dealership repair

If I could give them zero stars I would. What they quote over the phone and what it ends up being is night and day. Then they dont tell you the final price until the job is done!!!! Then the girl who quoted the price absolutely lies to my face and the manager is nothing but a salesman in mechanics clothing. Then they screwed up my car and I had to take it to a another brake shop to have them redo what they did. I would NEVER trust them.

Had muffler installed September 2018, had to go back April because the muffler was getting louder each day, they charge $50.00 labor for a replacement . Go on vacation less then 90 days later and the muffler blows apart. We had no option but to go to a out of state muffler shop and get it repaired. Exhaust was coming into the car, the floor was getting hotter. I go back to Velasquez and looking for a refund for the faulty muffler. He states, It doesnt work that way, I should have come back to them. I said I will call the manufacture of the muffler, keeps saying. It doesnt work that way.They installed a smaller muffler than the original I had, it never was quiet from the beginning. They have a shade on the door to the garage, why?They have a sign that they will charge you a fee if you want the old parts, why?I wanted to support our local shops However, dont go there. Find another muffler shop. They are cheap cause they use cheap parts.

I had Velasquez Mufflers & Brakes put on an after-market exhaust system on my truck. The service was great, the quality of the work was great, and Im extremely happy with the outcome.

Love this place. They do great work, its cheaper and faster than any other brake or muffler place around.

Not a big review type of person but had to share my experience. Had 2 issues with my car, one was exhaust seeping into the car when heat/air were on, second was an annoying rattling noise that I would randomly hear while driving. Heard good things about Velasquez from family so figured id give it a shot.They took my car in right away and within about 10 minutes found both issues. One was a connector pipe that needed to be repaired and the other was a deteriorated gasket that needed to be replaced. within about an hour and a half or so both issues were fixed.Driving home, my car sounded so different than what I was used to hearing. I have to say that I highly recommend taking your car here if you are looking for work to be done. I know they do more than brakes and mufflers as well based on requests from people that came in after me.I think my techs name was Fabian. If you read this, THANKS MAN!

The worst place ever. If I knew that they were gonna ALL going on lunch before looking at my car, I wouldve just came back another time. But after waiting for about 2 hours they pulled in my car not once apologized about the wait. Im not sure how the work is; I just left.

I went for an oil change in the winter time and they screwed on my oil plug wrong which caused an oil leak stained my driveway and when i mentioned it to an employee she ignored what i had said to her. This place has its pros and cons. Lower cost for lower quality service.

I bought a brand new tire 3 days later it popped valazquez muffler said they would not guarantee it thats 157 dollars out of my pocket for a tire. turns out chihuahua tire shop sells same brand for 100$ valazquez over charged me they are a dishonest shop please do not go here chihuahua is always busy but its worth the wait

The heat shield on my car had fallen onto muffler and was rattling very loudly. I also have an oil leak that I could not find. I showed up without an appointment, my car was on a lift in 5 minutes. The mechanics showed me where my leaks were and bolted my heat shield back into place. I was out the door in less than 20 minutes, only cost me $10.

Because they are cheats, you take a car to align and they tell you to change a lot of things, they dont tell you that they just design you, several parts are wrong and if you dont want to do the job, they design you to see a mechanic is not a good answer.
