Normally this place does a good job and everyone is nice, but I guess it really depends on which nail tech you get. The last few times Ive been in I have left feeling unhappy with the end results. Ive gone in for fills on pink and whites and it never gets done the same way. One time the tech used clear fill instead of pink like I requested and my nails ended up yellowing. Another time the tech used white polish instead of powder for white tips; which is okay I guess but now I have a white brush stroke under my top coat from where he didnt clean it up all the way & it just looks different from the white tips I prefer to be done with powder. They never remove enough of the previous fill to where my nails always look cracked underneath the new fill. This last time not only does it looked cracked underneath, but you can see the yellowing from the previous fill and theres a hair or something underneath that got stuck under the previous fill and is now very noticeable under my new fill 😕.  I mean, if you were a nail tech, would you be proud of this?

I’ve been going to Selena for over a year now and she is absolutely amazing nail tech. Any picture I find on Pinterest she can do. I always leave the nail salon so happy with her work and I can’t wait to see her and what she can do next.

I have been coming here for 2 years, I schedule my appointments the same way each time. It is a 40 minute drive from my home! I arrive today one of the techs tell me they are full come another day. I said I have a confirmed appointment and showed her the text. She stated “ I don’t care you can be mad as black people always are we are short staffed”. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A MINORITY!!!

Waited 30 mins for a full set (after being told it was a 15 minute wait) and asked for a small design on one nail. I was told well see those require appointments. If you dont offer the services thats listed on the front then just say so! Will never return here again. Save your time and money and go somewhere the nail techs actually are willing to do their job.

I can’t remember the name of the girl who did my nails, she’s the one answering the phone though. Did an incredible job, great shape. she really took her time to get me exactly what I wanted. I have a hard time finding people in west bend who do really good acrylics.

Love them! I have gone to quite a few nail salons over the past few years, even nail salons in different states. By far this is the best that I have been to. They are extremely friendly, professional, reasonably priced services & the spa is always clean. Which is important in this type of business. They stand by their work! I have and will continue to recommending Modern Nails & Spa to everyone.

I called at 10:15am and asked if they had any openings within the next 15 minutes. They said yes.I arrived at 10:31am and two walk ins were taken before I was after I even stated I had called and said what my name was.I was told it wouldnt take long.I just left and its 10:55am... no one was close to being ready to take another client.Pretty frustrating.

I went in with nails that were a mess after peeling.off my acrylics myself 2 weeks prior after wearing acrylics for over a year. They were discolored uneven cracked etc.. I went in for a gel manicure and Kim performed a miracle with my hands ..they are beautiful...very pleased and they are reasonably priced. Definatly going back

Salena gave me exactly what i wanted again a beautiful set of nails.. The employees are Very personable and quick. Nails turned out beautiful as always and Kim gives an amazing pedicure. They make my pamper time wonderful. Modern nails is my go to place not only for quality work, reasonable prices but because they make me feel like a friend when I walk in and special during my appointments.

Have gotten many shelliac manicures that have been great.First time getting a pedicure here and was highly disappointed. I made a appointment and upgraded to a more expensive pedicure and it was so rushed start finish was 30 minutes

I don’t know where to start..... I made an appointment and arrived on time. I was seated and someone started my nails. She stopped working on them and said she would be back in a few minutes. I looked over she was doing a pedicure! Just left me sit for a half hour!! I was finally moved to someone that could finish my nails only to leave with 4 bleeding fingers😞. I also have acrylic on my skin. This was by far the worst and most painful nail experience I ever had. Both hands burn when I wash them and won’t even talk about hand sanitizer🤬🔥. Will never be back.

I absolutely love my nails! I am very happy with Steven. He listened to what I wanted and did an amazing job with my very short nails. I love his laid back, calm personality. I will definitely be going there for anything I need in the future. I also enjoyed the music, perfect for the environment.

Rose did a great job. It was a long time since my last pedicure, I felt very safe and oh SO relaxed!

They dont listen. Every time I get a different person and no one listens. I will say NO shellac on my daughter, give them the polish I want her to have... They add shellac and charge me for shellac. When I get a pedicure I am very specific about the cut. 2 different people and they cut how they want. Last pedicure (and last time going) I paid to have an upgraded pedicure for really dry skin and she rushed through the whole process. When i got home, none of my dead skin had been removed. I have gone a total of 5 different times. No more.

All 3 of the girls in the group had a terrible experience. We all have to go get our nails fixed before the wedding. The pedicures were not worth it as we all have hard skin still on our feet, no cuticles were cut, no hang nails cut out. They told my cousin after finishing her acrilics that they dont do the designs and left acrilic all over her skin. My moms girl forgot the gems and said she couldnt do them after the coats she had put on already. My glitter looks like a kid did it. $5 off each person for the problems and still $72 per person for gel manicure and regular pedicures. Very pricey for a job anyone cancels do to themselves. Not very happy or impressed.

Steven did my nails for me, he discussed the option of acrylic versus dip nails and the cost of each. He was polite and did a great job, and understood what I wanted. I would recommend them and Steven anytime. He listened to me and asked questions about what liked. I would recommend Modern Nails anytime.

Absolutely amazing service. I needed a pedicure so bad but I neglected to go for a long time because of an ingrown that I had. He not only fixed my ingrown but my feet were tended to very well and look awesome! Love the new massage chairs and remodel. Looks very nice.

I am new to WI, and this particular area. I also am very picky about my nails. This nail place is very clean and the people there are also very friendly. It is my go to nail place In West Bend for pedicures and gel nails. I won’t go anywhere else in the area. I did however try out other places, in West Bend, before Modern nails. I will stick with these guys. You won’t be disappointed 🙂

They always do a great job. This is my go to. Convenient to walk in. My dip polish lasts 4 to 5 weeks and doesnt look bubbly like some places. Very friendly and they have a point system now:)

I love how close this spa is to my house and how the price is incredibly reasonable! The place is clean and not pretentious, quite and relaxing atmosphere. Im hesitant to share how great they are because I dont want it to ever be crowded! But I have to, because they deserve it.

Trish did a wonderful job today! I had a hot stone pedicure and she really gave extra effort in massaging my legs. She also did my Dip manicure and paid special attention because I have extremely thin nails to be sure I get enough dip so my nails dont chip or break but still look very natural. Thank you Trish!

I got my nails done here recently and loved my experience! It was a Saturday so the salon was naturally busy, but I never felt rushed during my appointment, and my nails turned out even better than expected! The staff was extremely friendly as well.

Worst experience at a nail salon ever. Asked to have my nails filed thinner and the lady told me no and I was only able to have then square. They were very sharp and I was disappointed. She also cut me twice! It was deep and bleeding immediately and the lady rubbed it all over and told me it wouldn’t hurt me! I will never be back!!!

Love the atmosphere. Great service, ten out of ten would come back, they have lots of colors to choose from and they are so nice and attentive. This is a great place to relax and unwind. Ive been to a couple places before but this was by far my favorite!!

My girl friend and I went Friday night for pedicures. We had a great experience! The staff was friendly and efficient. They did a wonderful job and the massage chairs were relaxing. We had to stay past closing time to allow the polish to dry, but the Ladies were very nice and pleasant.

My mom and I went and we both like our nails other than the fact that mine are a little messy. I also didnt want a design but they did one anyway just so that they would get more money. Talking about money it was much more expensive than the other place I go which I enjoy much more. But I am still happy with my nails and still enjoy them.

A simple pedicure cost $43! Way overpriced and my daughter-in-laws nails were not done the way she asked and it was the day before the wedding!

My daughter and I stopped for pedicures. My daughters polish is already coming off 2 hours later and neither of us have Smooth softer feet. Which is the main reason we stopped in after having winter feetfor so many months.The women who worked on us seemed annoyed and like we were bothering them.Too bad I cant post a photo because other than polish color change my feet look no different.Huge waste of money!!!

The service is good but the manicurist insisted on cutting my nails shorter than i wanted. I also was not aware the polish he used was gel. I dont do gel polishes. There was no disclosure.

I was at Modern nails this morning for a manicure with gel polish. She was very efficient and good. Got me out of there in40 minutes.

They were very professional, clean and beautiful. The callous removal, however, was seriously lacking. I feel the end result did not match the price point.

Called in advance for four services on Saturday, upon arrival, asked if we could change two pedicures into manicures, and add a foot massage. Many changes, I confess, but hostess assured us it would not be a problem. Of course not. They just ignored one manicure and the massage. Very disappointed on my birthday. Do not make promises you know you cannot fulfill.

I would say they did a pretty good job of applying my gel nails but then again Ive never had them gel nails before, so nothing to compare to. The man who applied them could barely speak a word of English and when I asked him how long hed lived in the US it was something like 30 years. 30 years and barely a word of English could come out of his mouth. The removal of them yesterday was a bit brutal. I thought she was going to rip off my real nail...maybe its suppose to be like that?! But the whole time shes butchering me shes talking in her foreign language to her colleague sat next to her who also had a client. I may not speak the language but it seemed like she was complaining about the fact she was struggling to remove my nails, especially because her thumb was in a plaster. You should be speaking to your client! Not your colleague! I felt bad because I had to ask her more then 5 times how much I owed her between my partial deafness and her poor English. The lack of English ruins the experience. You are basically putting 100% trust in them doing a good job with little to no verbal input from you because when you try and converse with them theres a major language barrier. When I was explaining about wanting gel nails, I was made to feel the idiot because they couldnt understand my description and simply said no we dont do that but when he was pointing to bottles and stuff we figured it out. I want the same experience I have with my hair stylist and you dont get that here. Id rather pay a few extra bucks for someone who doesnt look blank and confused at me when i try and start a conversation with them. No offense to immigrants, Im one myself.

Went there today to get gel acrylics. I walked in and all the lady said was, What do you want? Not even a simple hello. Then, the nail tech barely said one word to me. She had one ear bud in, so I think she was listening to music and she answered a call while doing my nails. I would ask her a question or say something to her and she did not say anything back. She touched my hand to tell me when to put it in the gel machine. Horrible and rude customer service. Please get workers that are polite and actually talk to you.

Completely screwed up my own natural nails. Extremely disappointed in how the ruined them. Tech ground down cuticles and top layers of nails. This will take months to naturally repair and grow out.

The first man to have done my nails I paid $55 for a full set and for a tip I could see 2:45 of my nails and two nails had broken off after three days. Of course I called the nail salon and asked to speak to the manager which she isn’t able to get me in until the following Monday I go in and she can see that I already need a fill since she had me wait an extra week to fix what her employee had done to my nails. They were very very rude didn’t make eye contact and I swore they were talking about me . I was on my phone to contact my fiancé to see when he would be here from work and she brings up how I’m talking on my phone. She said the only way she could fix the 2 cm of my nails that her employee left unfilled and unpainted is by having me pay for a refill. Do not go to modern nails I have been coming here for the past three years and my grandmother Chantelle fish has been coming here for years. I don’t know what is happening but it is absolutely awful

My mom and I went to get our toes and nails done together, they left us waiting for a design on our toes for a half hour and completely forgot about us, then when my mom asked to sit next to me to have our nails done the bitchy receptionist snapped at her. And when I told her she had no right to be rude she argued with me. Horrible experience. And my nails would look just as good if I would have done it myself. All we asked for was a dot design on one nail and the first time a guy tried to do my moms he completely ruined it. So she didn’t even get what she wanted and had to pay full price. I will never be back. I’ll take my mom elsewhere where customers are treated with friendly service and attended to accordingly and where you actually get what you pay for.

I got an awful pedicure here but when I went back to complain they were really good about it. They redid without much hassle.

Make you feel extremely uncomfortable by talking about you if you have a concern, which I never had at a nail place. Was nervous to go in and get a fix. The nails looked like I had had them for a week they looked so outgrown and I had got them done on a Thursday, a break on Friday, and awful nail beds showing. The owner had done mine and was on the phone and cut my nail beds twice. A pretty poor experience. Unfriendly, uncomfortable and not welcoming whatsoever I didnt even want to go back in the first place. Its nice on the inside though. Spa like. The workers are just really not so nice. And obviously talk about other people. Oh well, just take your business elsewhere. Bad experience for paying 70 dollars for a pedi and set. 👎

By far worst experience I had! Left there with sticky nails and an hour later the nail polish was all crinkley the nail tech left arclic all over my skin. Day later couple nails broke off. I tried to contact the owner and get my money back. She told me no because she had to see it I ended up taking all my nails off and going somewhere else. Do not recommend this place at all!!!!!!

Horrible, rude, and entitled employees is an understatement. I called and made an appointment for 3 manicures. We get there and the lady sits us all next to each other. We were talking about colors and one employee was saying that wouldnt look good, that wont work, you need this this or this, super rudely. Then she starts working on my hands super hard does not ask or talk to me at all. Slops the paint al over meanwhile another employee asks my MIL to move so I stated shes getting her nails done. And she goes well I have a customer. So my MIL and SIL get up and leave and the people do not even do anything about it. They say they are sorry to me but it is too late. It took the lady 15 minutes for my shellac manicure. I will never recommend or go back there again. It is horrible that people can operate a business like that.
