The staff was very friendly and the hair cut and shave was better than I hoped for. Its getting hard to find a barber that still uses a straight razor but they still use them here I was very pleased.

Not sure who is cutting hair for everyone else, but for $16.00 this is what you get! A COMPLETELY SCREWED UP HAIRCUT, and now Im going to need another haircut before Christmas. When I say take the top down to finger length I was MEANING ALL OVER MY HEAD!!! NO JUST IN SOME SPOTS!!! Thanks J&R

I am particularly picky when it comes to my hair. Had been looking for a good barber for a while. Received my first haircut from J and R and am extremely pleased with the results. The Barbers inside are very nice and are not afraid to engage in conversation, which is nice. I will keep coming back here as long as they are open.

I am so happy I finally gave this place a try. From here on out, as long as I live in Wentzville, this is my Barber. My first visit was today and I didnt know they only took cash... Abby said no problem... I am here all week. All week? Of course I ran to the nearest ATM, but the Old Town feel was nice. This is the best haircut Ive had in a lone time. Straight Razor and warm lather. Cannot beat that!

First Time here. Barber only asked me how I wanted my hair cut. Not very friendly, no small talk one is use to at a barber shop. So if your not a regular dont expect a Mr friendly from Gayle anyway. Hair cut just average.

One of the last places still standing for a man to go and get a great haircut in traditional fashion without being bombarded by tvs and radios. Straight razor shave, hot lather, great conversation etc.You simply cant find places like this much anymore.Expert service, zero complaints.

I enjoy a small town old style barbershop. The barbers are very friendly. I like being able to walk in and they remember the type and style of your last cut.

Only place I trust to cut my hair right. Tom went waaay out of his way to get my hair just right for my wedding day. If you like sports, good conversation, and an excellent hair cut J and R is the Barber shop for you.

My friends and I are usually not the type of people to get bothered by something easily or ever post bad reviews, but when I see obvious discrimination I need to say something. My friend has short hair for a girl, like the average boy haircut, and the last time we went in here to get a trim a really nice lady gave her a cut and was super nice and made it a good experience. But today we came in again and she asked for another trim and there was only two old men in there (sitting there doing nothing with no other customers hair to cut btw) At first they just continued talking to each other for a full 5 minutes finishing each their conversation as if we didn’t exist then finally they asked what we needed (a quick haircut for my friend) and they refused her. They said “we don’t cut short ladies hair” my friend apologized profusely as if it was her fault for assuming they would cut a girls hair that was obviously a boy style -for the second time. But they kept telling us to go to the “GIRLS hair salon around the corner.” That that place isn’t for “women.” We did try to go the place around the corner btw and it was closed.It just really hurt my friend. They way they talked to her and demeaned her and refused her service literally just because of her being a girl with a stereotypical boys haircut was just sad. Disappointing in this day and age.

I have been getting my hair cut here for over 30 years, known the barbers that long too. Nothing fancy here just a good hair cut at a reasonable price.

After my fiance informed me that my hair needed a proper trimming before our wedding, I decided to stop by J & R Barber Shop that I have seen for many years living in the Wentzville area. This is by far my favorite barber shop experience and I highly recommend anyone seeking a quality haircut to come in and give the guys a try. The atmosphere is the old school barber shop that you would expect to find fifty years in the past. The guys cracked jokes, talked about wives, and sporting endeavors while keeping it clean and kid friendly. The price is excellent and the quality is superb! With the barber shop making a popular resurgence, this is an excellent location that still follows the old school methods. The barbers actually bust out the hot cream and straight razor, by far the best Ive experienced in the Wentzville/OFallon area.
